What are all of your strategies? I am trying to lose 15 pounds. Have any of you lost weight without counting calories? I would love any suggestions!

in the pst 2 months i had lost 10 pounds. the way that i did that was by counting calories, keeping under 1200(you should not go below that, its VERY unhealthy) drinking water instead of anything else, and excersise when i got the chance(wich wasnt often) well, with that i lost 10 pounds, but it took a while. now, i am just a mess and am still figuring things out.

In the past 3 months i lost 3 stone. i did the cabbage soup diet twice, which really helped kick start my metabolism and the quick weight loss insrpired me to keep it up. Since i stopped the cabbage soup diet, i have carried on losing 3-4lbs a week and am pretty much eating whatever i like except for sweets and chocolate. i dont eat fruits and veg although i should, I just use natural sweeteners instead of sugar and have cut down on fat, by not using butter, using skimmed milk, and watching my intake of fryed foods. I know that may seem like im cutting out alot but i really dont feel it. I feel like im basically eating what i want, its just that what i now want is alot more healthier. Also its a matter of eating alot less (that way the little i do eat, can be pretty much ne thing) and making sure i have breakfast every day before school makes a big difference. :)

I've heard that counting calories is not a very good idea, atleast if you doing long term. Then you get paranoid about everything you eat. What you can do is keep a food diary for just a few days to discover how you can eat healthier, but don't count calories. Also, during meal times, don't serve yourself extra large portions and listen to your body, when you feel satisfied, stop. I hope this helps.

First all all I wish you good luck with your weight loss. I personally have lost weight the way most ppl do I guess, through healthy eating, and plenty of exercise. Diets don't work as so many have said, you must make a lifestyle change. If you can cut out the really fatty foods, and exercise a few times a week, you should have no problems in losing those 15 pounds.

i agree i think counting calories is way to hard for me. I always wanted the freedom to eat what ever i wanted & i found it. I found a web site that has a lot of vitamins & natural diet products that i found to be very affective. I would like to share my experince with anyone who is interested just fill free to e-mail me at riosbrinklow@msn.com
look forward to talking with you

I am doing the Atkins Diet. It's worked so far. I've been off it for a while. I started in July and have lost around 25 pounds.
