Welcome Sheba you have come to the right place for support. You will find plenty of that here and will meet a lot of new friend.Keep on posting and the support will come. Remember only you can do this we can only encourage you. Motivate yourself by thinking of buying new smaller clothes or what ever you want out of this. Also glad to see someone also from Maryland ;)

Hi Gekahn,

Welcome to the seniors board. I have been a member of diettalk since December 2001. Have found new friends here and help whenever it is needed. I am on CAD and finding it fairly easy to follow. Ask any questions you need and we all will try to be of help.:bfly:

Please hop over to the weigh in thread and let us know your progress too.

:cat: Hi Gekahn

I was looking for a senior to be a buddy with. They're not easy to find. I am new at this as well. I have only had my computer for two months, and I would certainly like to have a buddy for weight loss. I am retired from working in the courts for 21 years, and I am 61 years old. I have 3 grown children and 7 grandchildren, and I live in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. I don't know if you are at all familiar with Canada or not. I hope to lose at least 40 lbs. and started serious dieting on March1, 2002. I am following the Weight Watchers program, walking for 1/2 hour each day and drinking 6 eight ounce glasses of water each day. I put on a spring jacket (because it was very mild here yesterday) and was surprised to see I could zipper it up very easily. Hadn't been able to do that for awhile.

I spend my time walking, playing the piano, reading, knittings and of course, using the computer.

I hope I hear from you and we find that we would like to be buddies.

My name is Barbara.

Hi Barbara and Welcome.

I am sure you will find what you are looking for on these boards. Just ask any of us seniors your questions and we will be glad to help.

I am from Rochester, NY so am fairly familiar with Toronto. We go for a weekend every once in a while. Love to see some of the plays they show.

Always, Alice

Hi Alice

Thank you for your response to me. I sent an email to a person with the user name "gekahn" yesterday and I don't know if it went through. It doesn't show up on my sent email. Is there any way you can verify whether or not it went through. If not, what is the correct way to do this.:cat:

Hi there. I emailed you yesterday, but I don't know if it got through.

I am a senior, 61, and I live near Toronto, Ontario in Canada. I don't know how familiar you are with Canada.

I am following the Weight Watchers program religiously and would really like to have a buddy with whom to share my thoughts.

Hope to get a response from and then we can get to know each other better.

Cheers

I think I qualify for this forum. I'm 57, married, two grown married sons. My pride & joy are my grandchildren. A set of twin girls, will be 3 yr, 1 granddaughter will be 7 yr. & 1 grandson 8 months.
I'm looking for someone to be buddies with for motivation & every day talk. I joined DT the 1st part on Feb. I've been on Generation 4, a great group over there.
Tuesday's are my weigh in day at TOPS. I walk when I can.
Will check back tommorrow.

Hi Judy,

I hope I am doing this right. I am assuming you were responding to my profile and are interested in finding out if I'd be suitable as a buddy.

It sounds like you are very committed to your program, and I am as well.

If you would like to e-mail me, you can do so at bturner10@cogeco.ca I will respond to you as soon as possible.

Cheers, Barbara

Hi, I am new to Diettalk, I am a member of Weight Watcher. I lost my weight, but have had a very difficult time maintaining. I am now up 10 pounds and am lacking the motivation I need to began again. Every morning I tell my self to take it serously and journalize again. I write down my breakfast. Thats it. Can't seem to even get motivated to exercise. I hope by posting and reading messages in Diettalk, my motivation will return.
