AngieKay 02-19-00, 01:35 PM Hi Peach,
I would love to keep in touch with you my e-mail is Anng974@aol.com if you would like to write to me that is easier to do than just posts! Hope to hear from you soon!
HI!!!! Boy it's nice to finally have someone to talk to about my weight problem. Skinny people just don't understand the problems, fears and emotional shutdown that happens to go public. My husband plays in a band and going out to see him play can really be very embarrasing for me. He loves me and just wants me to be with him, and i always want to go, but i find that when I'm there, I'm so nervuous, and i just can't be comfortable. How about you? Can we keep in touch? I could really use the friend. Please contact me at sharon2554@ivillage.com
mspiggy 03-03-00, 02:44 PM Hi everyone!!!!! It does make it a lot easier when you have people who can understand what you're going through!! Believe me...I've been struggling my whole life with my weight and I finally got to a point where I was happy with myself and didn't care anymore! I was really happy with who I was! I had accepted my weight and so had the man I love! But then my Doctor says that if I don't lose more than it will cause great complications....so on the rollercoaster I go again! I also am looking for some support! This is too hard to do alone!!!!
Hi everybody! I am 32yrs old. I am married with two sons. I have always been struggling with my weight. I need a buddy who will encourage me and be there for me. My weight started to increase when I went throug a difficult time in my life, since than I have gone through depression plus a rocky marriage. Now I have gotten a hold of myself and realize the damage I was doing to myself. If you have been in my shoes, please email me m3mp@netzero.net[

DebbieNY 03-17-00, 04:23 PM Hi, My name is Debbie. I'm 36, married with one 4yr. old daughter. I am having a hard time getting and staying motivated and focused. I keep "starting over" on a daily basis! I am trying to follow the Atkins plan as I find that the low-carb way of eating makes me feel better. It keeps the cravings away and I find I eat less "when" I follow it.
I would love to share experiences, feelings, advice, friendship with anyone seeking the same.
Best wishes to you all -

stevekimj 03-17-00, 05:11 PM You guys CAN do it! I know, I'm doing it right now (weight loss that is!). I started with 166lbs to lose and have lost 44lbs. It's hard and it takes ALOT of commitment and change. But it IS happening. Keep your chin up and slowly but surely build an exercise routine, drink water, water, water, and eat healthy and the weight will come off. Best of Luck to you all!
AngieKay 03-18-00, 10:09 AM Hi everybody! I have been on the pity pot & I'm sick of being there. I have gained 1.5 lbs back of the 27 I had lost. I don't know why I have done this. I lost motivation when I didn't work out from hurting my shoulder. I really need some consistent diet buddies. When I have support I do much better! I need to re-commit to my health before I undo all that I have done! I would really love to hear from all of you. I'm sorry if I haven't e-mailed you, I forget who I've talked to & who I just thought I talked to :) I really need some help with motivation right now. What do you guys do when you don't feel like working out? I go through this whole big guilt trip on myself & then end up saying oh, I'll do it tomorrow. That is how I gained back 1.5 lbs. It seems like a vicious circle sometimes. I have been watching what I eat most of the time but I haven't worked out faithfully. I do it everyother day or so. I need a good kick to get me going :) any body have one? well I hope to hear from somebody soon who is really dedicated to being a diet buddy. Thanks for being here everyone!
Luv2eat 03-31-00, 05:58 PM DebbieNY - Let’s talk! Finally someone else out there that is trying Atkins! I made a post re: Atkins dieters, for a place we can share the ups/downs of Atkins I hope you can stop in and share your experiences. If not, feel free to email me!
I don’t mean to ignore this topic, I was just so excited to find someone on Atkins. I agree that it’s easier to keep your mind focused when you know you’re not alone in your quest! Just look at all the support that is right here. I think we can all support each other!
Do not be fooled by the herbs4life lady she is just advertising herbs which is against the boards rules. Check it out under DO YOU NEED TO LOSE 10 TO 400 POUNDS. I repeat don't be tricked http://www.diettalk.com/uub//mad.gif
Luv2eat 04-12-00, 07:01 PM Happy: Thanks for the info. my motto is: "If you're selling, I'm not buying! So disappear!" If it's true what you say, then my message is loud and clear....we don't need your kind here. E
Natalie 04-23-00, 07:05 PM Hi Angie I started with 119 to loose am now down to 84lb still to go I know what you mean about motivation it helps me no end to have other people to talk to and share my weight loss highs and lows with. Can't wait till I can finally dare try on a bikini. I've always been big so never worn one should shock hubby if I can wear one by time I've finished.anyway if you want to e_mail me I'm at my hubby's e_mail account at P.J.Millard@btinternet.com UK based.

Hi AngieKay! Glad to see you are here and understand what so many of us go through in our struggle to get healthy. We really can help each other, but hopefully everyone who's written won't just private e-mail because that cuts out those of us who really get a lot from reading all the posts here on the board. I'm all for making friends and e-mailing, but don't exclude the board readers from all the great advice you'll get and things you'll learn. Take your time and eat healthy and drink loads of water and exercizing will help you to get started and keep going on your journey.... Good luck to you!

Hi,
It's so nice to see so many people offering support. I'm a 21 year old male who needs to lose about 80-100 lbs. I've tried numerous diets, but they don't seem to work. My latest attempt has been to gather other family members for a weight loss competition. We formed a group called "Gamble the Fat Away". 8 of us paid $50 to join and whoever loses the most weight in 3 months gets the money. We've been on it for a month now and everyone seems to be doing well. The money is a great incentive, but we all know that losing the weight is much more important than the money! Just having other people to talk to and exercise with helps so much. That's why I'm so glad to see a site that gives people the chance to get support from other dieters. Let's face it, only those who face similar battles with weight can truly understand what we are all going through. I'd like to talk with some of you about your weight loss tips/goals. My email is kb9304@aol.com. Hope to here from you soon!

Hello... my name is Gail. I am literally at the end of my rope. I have about 100 lbs to lose and the prospect feels daunting. I wake up every morning vowing that today will be the day that I begin my all important self-improvement plan, only to go to bed wondering what it is that must be wrong with me because I can't seem to muster the motivation to even get started. I figured that if I can't find the inspiration I need from within, possibly there are others like me, who, through sharing, will inspire. If there is anyone out there who is willing to share some life stories and experiences... please contact me at glangdon@bserv.com

Kip and Gail..... you've come to the right place! This is a place that will help you to get healthy and ultimately lose the weight. Having an incentive the way you do right now, Kip, is good to get started, but remember that to keep it up indefinitely you'll have to really be motivated by wanting to be healthy. And Gail.. don't look at the whole 100 pounds. When I started with over 100 pounds to lose, I was overwhelmed at first. It wasn't until I gave up "dieting" for being healthy. Now I take it a day at a time and forget about the amounts. It'll all come together when you try to get your whole life healthy and stop worrying about just the weight. When I started to get healthy, the weight and everything else followed naturally. You can do this! Both of you are welcome here. Post to the board often and try the chat room if you haven't already. It's a great place for support and fun, too! Hope to see you there soon!

sarahs3826 04-28-00, 04:31 PM Uh oh! I've done Atkins...but ended up gaining. I couldnt do it without a lot of cheese, and diet soda. I know first hand though, that if you find yourself unable to stick to it 100% (excepting the minor, occasional fallback)...you WILL gain! Trust me...I've been there! so frustrating! Good luck...sarahs3826@cs.com

Hi everyone....
Well I'm 2 days into my journey. I have a lot of weight to lose. It would be nice to have someone to talk to that understands the ups and downs.

stevekimj 04-29-00, 10:32 AM Remeber in this "war on fat" that you have to win small battles to win the overall war. I started with 166lbs to lose. I'm now 3 lbs away from my 2nd goal. My first goal was 50lbs by my mom's wedding. My second goal was 15lbs more before my cousins wedding (3 to go). By setting little goals I don't have to look at a number three units long. 15 feels possible, 100 seems to far away. Set small goals for optimuim success. Best All! You're worth it! Kim

There where so many people's notes that I wanted to respond to that I've forgotten who said what. Anyway, the point is..I also have a lot of weight to lose, and am having a hard time of it. I get motivated and then lose it. The exercise is my hardest part to stick with. I'll try the day to day idea and see how that goes.
Would love to hear from some "diet buddies"

DebCarole1 06-20-00, 03:53 AM One of the things I find hard, is fighting the fat battle in my mind. I've lost over 40 lbs since the beginning of the year by listening to meditation tapes for weight loss and self-esteem. My favorite is "Perfect Image-Perfect Weight" that I found on mindoverweight.com. With over 150lbs more to lose, I know what you all are going through! We can do this!

stevekimj 06-20-00, 11:54 AM DebCarole1: I just wanted to let you know I'm behind you 100%! I started with 166lbs to lose and have almost lost 1/2 if it. So if you need any support or want email me feel free. You can do it and I'm proud of you. Supporting others on this board and feeling needed has gotten me this far. Best, Kim

DebCarole1,
