Shycntrygal40 05-02-00, 09:10 PM Well, I'm really new to this. I am looking for a weight loss partner. I have tried and tried to lose weight before but i just can't stay motivated. I have lots to loose. I just came from the doctor today...and i need to get this weight off. Would anyone be interested in becoming my buddy? I live in Florida but i will talk to anyone! Hi Shy..... you are certainly not alone here and if you're looking for support, you've found the right place. You can e-mail anytime, but you'll have more than a partner if you come in and write on the boards and come chat in the chat room... I've benefited a great deal from hearing everyone's ideas, tips and support. it's so great to get to know everyone and know that you are never alone here. Hope to hear more from you!

And the posts are great too! I like to post when I'm trying to stay out of the kitchen.... lol I can't eat and type at the same time (most times anyway. lol)

I'm trying my best to stay motivated. Now if i can just get myself motivated enough to start walking i think i would do a little better. I want this weight off NOW......i'm not a very patient person. Shycntrygal40, I work on my patience level every single day! It's my worst enemy and I tell myself to relax all the time. If you start out with a small amount of time for walking and work your way up, you'll find it easier to make it a habit. Maybe start out with 15 minutes - 7+ each way... increase it as you feel able. I know when I don't feel like walking, I always remind myself that even when I have to drag myself out the door, I always feel better physically AND emotionally when I just DO it! I like living without having any regrets and when I don't do what I feel I should be doing, I have regrets. It's a beautiful day here and I'm definitely going to walk today. I hope you do too!

Glad that you found this site. I also am looking for friends with weight to lose. I have a 118lbs to go and have found some great ideas here and wonderful support. Just reading the bulletin boards will give you not only the ideas, but the support too. I really liked the idea of not setting a total goal, but setting a weekly goal of 1lbs, and how much I will exerise, water I will drink, etc. Feel free to e-mail, or ICQ me any time. Keep posting, and reading, I think it will really help. It helps me.
Take it one day at a time. and remember never let yesterday use up today (one of my favorite quotes)
