I turned 18 yesterday, and have decided that its about time I went on a diet. I weight 260 lbs, and want to lose at least 100 lbs. I want a diet buddy/ies to share thoughts and feelings with. You need to be prepared to read and write quite a lot, and put up with ramblings, mood swings, insanity and gossip! If you think you're up to it, mail me. I don't care how old (or young) you are, just that you have got a similary large amount to lose.

Welcome, and hope you keep coming back to this wonderful site. You will find a great bunch of supportive people here who really care. I hope you will visit the chat room too. This is a great place to stay motivated. You can get to your goal if you keep trying. I put on over a 100 lbs. I've lost 85 lbs. I have 1 lb to go till I hit goal, then it's on to lots of toning. I wouldn't mind droping another 5 after that, but that's not a concern of mine until after I see the results of the toning of the tummy. After being so over weight for many years and just having a baby in Jan, it really messed up the stomach. Good luck to ya and I hope you make a changes in your life to become healthier and start moving and exercising. You will see the results and once you do, it is big time motivation to keep going.
Take care....
Stacey :)

Hi ac! If you really want a buddy I'll be your buddy. I just joined diettalk about a week ago and it gave me the motivation to lose 6lbs my first week and I'm still trying. I did meet a great diet buddy who helps keep me on track and I do the same for her. It really helps alot. I don't mind long emails or writing them either, I find it great therapy to discuss dieting, food and the ups and downs that life gives me and it prevents me from eating and makes me think! I only have 25 pounds to lose, but I will remain your buddy until you meet your goal and afterwards of course. I've searched othere diet sites and let me say that diettalk has the nicest people and I wish I found it sooner I wish you luck and hope to hear from you!

hi ac, and welcome. if you want a buddy who talks a lot, you have found the right one. i was also a overweight teenager. i went from anerexic, then to overeating. i lost some of it, but when i met hubby(im 23) he ate everything i couldnt keep up. he stayed the same, i gained 50 plus pounds. im not for sure, was in denial, so i didnt get on the scale until i think i lost some weight. i have lost 28 pounds so far(not sure about that either, i threw out my scale :) ), but i would be willing to listen to anything you have to vent and be willing to help in any possible way. the people here are great, and in the month and a half ive been coming here, ive gotten great tips, and ive even made a bunch of friends. email me anytime if you would like to talk, also, go to the diettalk chatroom, there is usually somebody in there. good luck, keep smiling, think positive, and have a safe and healthy weekend. remember, you are worth it.
