i didn't think it was possible but i went to my TOPS weighin last night and i had gained 3 and a half pounds in only one week. i had been doing well losing most weeks. i was so disappointed in myself i came home and cried what a discouraging feeling.i knew i would be up a bit because i had a bit of a slip this weekend and ate alot of things i shouldn't have. i guess i will just have to remember that i can start again today and try not to slip that much again

Hi Mom,
Hang in there. It happens sometimes, but you can turn the tables in the coming week and lose those again, then keep on going in the right direction. Everyone has a slip up now and then, and we all pay for them, but the key is to not give up, no matter what! Just keep reminding yourself of how well you have done so far and how good you feel. That will all only keep getting better. So, chin up, smile and forgive yourself. Tomorrow is another day.

Meredith's Mom, Don't worry about showing a gain. If you had a slip this last week, it's probably water and will come off again pretty easily. I know how easily it is to beat up on yourself and be discouraged, but try not to be. You have the right attitude saying that start again and try again.... that's the whole point. It's going to become a way of life and you'll get there with flying colors. Just give yourself the time and encouragement you need. Patience is a tough one for me.... lots of people struggle with it. Just remember that 80/20 thing that duffy talks about. If you eat healthy 80% of the time the other 20% will be okay. Sounds like that's what you're doing anyway. Good luck to you and hope to hear more from you.

Sometimes I think the scale can be our own worst enemy... Often it seems very fickle and changes dramitcally depending on the time of the day.. Stay focused and you will reach your goals, forgive yourself when you slip and as long as you still have your goal in sight you will be fine.. Also dont forget that if you are working out, fat weighs less then muscle... Take care LeeAnn

The hardest thing in the world to do is forgive yourself, but that is what you have to do. Forgive yourself and move on. The past is history and all that matters is the future. This bumpy road is full of ups and downs but at the end of the road trip the travel is what made it all worthwhile and a memorable trip. You can do it and don't waste tears on pounds. You probably lose double this week. Smile and be proud that you are trying to make a difference in your life and rejoice in that fact. You CAN do it because YOU are WORTH it! Best!!! Keep up the GREAT work. You are doing WONDERFUL!!!!!!!!!

merediths mom, try measuring with just a pair of jeans, and how tight or loose they are. i know you get weighed at your TOPS meeting, but just remember, there is always next week. forgiving ourselves is the hardest things, we forgive others for far worse things than a binge day, but we cant seem to forgive ourselves. also, you might be around your period, or had a salty day the night before, or, since you measure in your clothes, might of had on bulky clothes, clothes can add some weight, especially heavy shoes. i wouldnt worry too much. just forgive and forget, and youll feel much better. good luck, and good luck to all,
stephanie
