E-mail buddies are great, but it's also good to come in here and use the bulletin boards and the chat room. You can post your progress or questions or whatever you are feeling and you'll have the benefit of lots of replies that way. Take care and good luck to you. Hope to hear more from you soon.......

Welcome to DT Webble. I started my battle of
the bulge nearly 2 years ago. I know exactly
what it feels like when you find out you have to lose over 100 lbs. The first thing I thought to myself: "Holy Cow, I will never be able to lose that much weight". The thought was overwhelming at the time. I immediately knew I had to put those thoughts out of my head and focus on just small goals at a time.
I suggest you work on no more than 10 lbs at a time. Take it one day at a time. If you have a bad day, just put it behind you and
"start over". Keep coming here often and post all your questions, concerns, successes,
frustrations etc. etc. We will be more than glad to be a sounding board and offer our opinions. I wish you the best of health and happiness. Feel free to e-mail me anytime.

Hi Webble!!
Welcome! I also know all too well the overwhelming feeling of having to lose alot of weight.
If it helps you at all, I joined Weight Watchers weighing 303 pounds in 1993 and lost 155 pounds. It took me 3 /12 yrs to do it.. This is a one day at a time journey you are on.. I did have a baby last year and am working off the last pounds of baby weight which has been harder than I thought it would be but again, one day at a time...
I would be happy to help anyway I can. Feel free to e-mail me as well.
I have been there..

Welcome to diettalk Webble. Losing the weight will indeed help your arthritis. I'm a sufferer of Spinal arthritis and fibromyalgia and I'm telling ya after losing 43 pounds the pain has subsided drastically. I've never felt better in my life.

sisnelly, I had to laugh when you said you just found out yesterday that you had a 100 pounds to loose. Only the people on this board can relate to that! Thin people (or anyone who looks at us) just don't understand how surprised we are at how much we have to loose. I know when I think if I lost 60 lbs. I'd still weigh 200 - that just amazes me, how can that possibly be?????
