I would like to say hi to everyone, I just found diettalk a few days ago, and am very excited. Funny that 150 is the magic number when you need to lose 100+ pounds. I would love to also see 150, but 170 would make me just about as happy. Not long ago, I had lost 80 pounds, bring me to the 170 mark, I felt so great. Unfortunately, I gained it back plus a few more. Talk about discouraging....anyway, I am now looking for the motivation to start again. Good luck to all that are here in this group. Let's do it together.

Hi Bach,

Welcome to diettalk !! This place is JUST GREAT for venting, discussion, moaning, congratulating - hey it ALL goes on here. It's helped me enormously - there's always someone out there who's been through the same crisis etc. I too have about 100 pounds to lose but can't even contemplate that far ahead - I can only think as far as 210 pounds (i'm currently 251 but I started at 308). My advice is to not focus on 150 but to concentrate on smaller goals and then it's not so daunting. Baby steps are the key!!!!
You'll get tons of support and advice here and it's the best place to come when tempted to scoff.

Keep smiling,
-Lucy

hi and welcome to diettalk, you are in the right place, and it's nothing we do better here than encourage one another, so stick around, stay focused and positive, you can do it but like you said we can all do it together. Be patient with yourself, and one day at a time you will reach your goal. E-mail me anytime.

Hang in there!

Hi Bach, and welcome to Diettalk.
I am just like you in that I lost 74lbs last year, but unfortunately put most of that back on due to various things, but thankfully now I am back on track and finding the way I am doing it "the no diet approach" is working much better for me. The weight loss will probably not be as quick as when I lost the 74lbs, but I am exercising now also so as long as it comes off and I tone up on the way I don't care.
Also 150 would be a magic number to me as well, I currently weigh 194.5lbs and it seems a long way from 150, but we can all get there if we take it one day at a time and keep coming here for support, to give it and accept it too.
E-mail me anytime if you want to chat.

I'm learning every day to eat healthier of course i do go off on my binges but i'm losing cuz I don't give up on me!! Just read the post here and fall in where you feel comfortable and you will start to see change for the better. Hope to talk more with you later. Take Care and follow your heart. Lori

Hi bach and welcome to diettalk. I know how discouraging it can be to lose so much and gain it back plus some extra. But it's never too late to start over and stay true to your goal of getting healthy. That's the beauty of making a decision to start over.. it can be tomorrow or right this very minute, whatever you want. This is a great place to meet people and share in the struggles or joys that we all experience. Take care and hope to hear more from you in the future!
