Hello, all you 100 plusers out there! Hope everyone is well. I just wanted to post because I weighed myself today, and I've actually lost 7 pounds! I know it's not much, but sometimes small victories can be almost as good as the big ones, right? I've been trying to diet for about 3 weeks now, however, I have given in to temptation more than once. But instead of quitting, I got right back on that horse. I figure, if I lost 7 pounds without really trying too hard, imagine what I can lose if I really give it my best effort. I know I have to add 30 minutes of exercise at least 3-4 times a week. I've been sort of lacking in the exercise department. Now that I've lost a little weight, I think I'll be inclined to "cheat" a little less often. I can't say that I'll never cheat, of course. Nobody's perfect. I just have to remember to keep going. I just want to say thanks to everyone here, especially those who have e-mailed me, offerring their support. And thanks to this site, in general. I don't know if I could even have begun to do this without DietTalk. Hope everyone else has had their own small victories. If so, please share. Even if your victory was something as simple as saying no to that second helping at dinner, or having a piece of fruit instead of that hot fudge sundae. We all deserve a pat on the back sometimes, and every little bit counts. Take care, everyone and good luck with this war against fat!

Great job. I also just started a week ago and had a loss of 6 pounds, I am very happy with that and am rearing to go on. I alos know I need to add exercise, but can't seem to get going. Keep up the good work.

Way to go Melissa! 7 pounds is wonderful. Now I've been able to do the exercise, I just can't stop eating. We need to get together and we could loose tons!

Melly, sounds like you are doing well. Don't forget that it's the "small" victories that lead us pound by pound to the goals we've set and are trying to hard to achieve. Without the "small" ones we'd never get anywhere! Don't minimize.... you're doing GREAT! Give yourself a great big pat on the back!

Here's to healthy and happy!

Melissa,
Congratulations on your weight loss. Yes. I think it is the small victories that keep us going on this journey to "lose". It's even better when you start feeliing better, and have more energy to do the little "everyday" things that you didn't before. Sometimes I cheat too, but I think you hit the nail right on the head when you said you got right back up again. I really do think that is the secret to success. Never give up. Good for you Melissa. Have a great day!

Hello everyone. Been away for a couple of days. Been a little too busy with work and kids to get online. Sticking with the diet, though. Got a little exercise on Sunday when I went out with my hubby and (kinda) played golf. It was my first time going. Had alot of fun, though. Thanks to everyone for your wonderful, supportive replies. I knew I could count on my fellow diettalker's to make me feel even better about my first accomplishment. Congrats to you, too, Sisnelly. 6 pounds is really great! Keep up the good work. And to everyone else, remember, we're all in this together. Never lose sight of your goal. Take care.
