Hello
This board doesn't look like it gets used much, but, its a place to start.
I just started dieting a little over a week ago, and to tell you the truth, this is probably the longest I have lasted on any diet. Completely changed my whole lifestyle... healthier food, smaller portions, and exercise 5 days a week... whew! But, I'm doing it... wow. For me, just making it this far is an accomplishment. And, I have lost some weight. Wow.
Anyways, its late, I need to get to bed because I have to work in the morning. Just wanted to say hi and I'm looking for weightloss support... looks like I came to the right place. :)
Take care all,
Mandi :)

stevekimj 05-12-00, 08:37 AM Hi! Welcome to the boards. I'll be happy to help you in anyway I can. I started at 316lbs and am currently at 250, so I know how hard it can be and that it CAN be done. My email is on here if you click on the email icon and get it. I'd love to encourage you and give you tips to help you down the road to success. Embark on eating healthy and changing your lifestyle, don't focus on the D-word. Focus on health. Take care of YOU, because you are worth it! Best, Kim

Glad you found your way to us, Mandi. And glad you are finding out that healthy is the way to get your weight off and keep it off for good. I've never had lasting success at weight loss until I stopped "dieting" and started getting healthy. When you focus on healthy, the rest just follows naturally. Hope to see you posting more. This is a great place for support!
Stephanie.... congrats on the weight loss you've had in 6 months. Sounds like you are on your way. Welcome to diettalk, too. Hope to see you back often!

SunshineCol,Oh 05-12-00, 09:47 AM Welcome and you will enjoy the support you get here. These people are the best bunch of motivators you will ever meet. We all help each others with our ups and downs. We give encouragement, support and motivation to who ever needs it. I started out at 226, and am now at goal at 140 (a total loss of 86 lbs). I still have a lot of toning to do since I lost 50 lbs really fast, and it shows, but I have been taking it one day at a time, and really working hard on my walking and workouts. If I can do this anyone can. I just had to tell myself, NO MORE DIETS!!! Once I stopped dieting the weight started coming off. I had to make changes in my eating. Portions and moderation. I never cut anything out of my menu. Good luck to you and keep coming back
Take care...... :)
Stacey

Mandi I would like to welcome you to our boards as well. I'm not 200 pounds but I love to greet new faces. Before you know it you will be in the lower range boards by keeping up what you are doing. Your first biggest achievement is wanting to do something to help yourself and seeking help. Keep coming here and welcome to our family.

dosflores 08-18-00, 01:44 AM Just wanted to chime in, and welcome both of you. I think you should be warned, though...this site is addictive. Use it to it's fullest, read, post and enjoy the support. We're all heading the same way, we can keep each other company during the trip.
