View Full Version : What is your baby up to now?
Massielita 01-24-01, 01:17 AM Well, I thought since we all have babies why not share what we are going through here! We can come tell each other what our little angels are learning and doing at this stage of their lives.
My baby is 7 months and a week and she is sitting in her walker and walking backwards. She is learning to sit up by herself and she rolls back and forth all over the place. I can't leave her unattended for more then 30 secs or she'll be on the floor, LOL
She has two teeth and say tatatatatatata! She also makes noises with her tounge to get our attention.
How about Cameron, Bekka? and Daniel, Neek? and how about Rebecca, Celeste? And all the other mommies and babies!?

Hey there! My little girl just turned 8 months. She is SUCH a handful!! She is crawling all over the place! She is SOOO fast too! We turn our head and she's gone! Either following us or chasing the cat! She's getting so big. I was feeding her yesterday and I was looking at her and I was wondering where all the time went! She's pulling up now and trying to cruise around! And her new favorite thing to play with is a laundry basket!? Go figure!
She also has 2 teeth and the top ones are working their way out (hurry teeth, hurry).
This was a great topic to start for today. I'm at work and I miss my baby :-( But I'll see her soon!!
Have a great day!!

Massielita 01-24-01, 08:11 AM What is your baby girl's name Deaner? She must be so cute! Wow, I can't imagine mine crawling, NOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!! LOL
I think her top teeth are coming out now too! Don't they just look so adorable? :D

cmommy923 01-24-01, 09:23 AM Rebecca will have her half birthday on January 31. She is sitting by herself, but she does not roll. She can roll, but she preferrs to lay on her back and be spoiled by her sisters. I took her to the Dr. yesterday and she weighs 18 lb 4 oz! That's a gain of almost 4 pounds in the last 2 months! The Dr. said it's okay because she's tall too. She's just the size of the average 9 month old. She's a babbler, talks all the time. Family dinners here are very loud, with the 3 girls all talking at once!
Rebecca never sleeps, so we keep her in our bed with us, something we have done with all 3. Last night she apparently decided to start an exercise program: flap, flap, kick! All night long.

Celeste
Massielita 01-24-01, 09:34 AM Wow Celeste! She is sitting up already, cool! What do you mean by she never sleeps? No naps or even at night time? What a cutie she must be, can't wait to see her. :)

Cathy29 01-24-01, 09:43 AM Deaner- my 2 year old son loves the laundry basket as well. He likes to put things in it and push it around. He also likes for his sister to push him around in it.
I am at the dreaded potty training stage with him. I don't really know how to teach a boy to use the toilet. Any suggestions? When I ask him if he wants to tee-tee on the potty he says "ummm, no."
------------------
Thunder Thighs 01-24-01, 11:14 AM Cathy29,
I hope it's okay for me to post here, my youngest is three years old, no longer a baby. I wanted to give you some suggestions on the potty training thing. I have 2 girls and a boy and by far the boy was a lot easier to potty train. If your using a potty chair, I recommend the one that has a star in the bottom of it that lights up when you potty in it. The star slowly appears when it gets warm. I didn't use the pull-ups because I felt like that was still like a diaper. I know this might sound silly but when my son used the big potty--toilet, I would put cherrios in there and he would try to shoot them, so that he wouldn't go all over the wall. It was like a game to him. And last they have a really cute chart you can put on your bathroom wall, with stickers and etc..
It took my son about 2 weeks to complete his potty training. I started the day after he turned two. Just thought I would give you some suggestions. i hope it helps. Good Luck.

TEEHEE I wanted to add some humour here (she would kill me though). My baby who is 17 years old is in high school right now in her second last year...LOL sorry Melissa (My daughter)
------------------
bougiej@hotmail.com
michelle3 01-24-01, 12:23 PM My babies are fairly big too, Joanne, two girls - 5 and 9.
About the potty training thing. I agree with ThunderThighs about the pull-ups; children still feel like they've got a nappy on with them. I think the time to start training is when the child shows some sort of interest in it. Give it a try for a couple of weeks, if there's no progress in that time then stop and try again at a later stage. At home I found it a good idea to keep a bowl of soapy, disinfectant water handy for the first few days. When out and about I took a potty (not very well disguised in a plastic carrier bag) and plenty of spare knickers! I think the key to successful potty training is to keep cool (if you turn it into a battle ground, you'll lose - ultimately THEY have the power here!) and relax. They all get the idea in the end.
I hope this is useful.

I am the Grandma of this bunch lol :)
I am also from the "old school" when the kids are ready they will train themselves.
My daughter was 3 before she was potty trained and all my relatives thought it was just terrible lol I laughed at them then and I still do :)
I put the cute potty and big girl panties where she could see them and after about 3 months when I went to change a diaper one day - she said no I want to wear big girl panties and that was it - she was potty trained day and night.
I did the same thing with the bottle "issue".
I did'nt think it was a big deal as many of my friends did.
My grand children ( oldest ) is 17 months old now and her mommie is doing it the same way :)
Anyways this works for us.......
Just my two cents being as I stumbled onto this post :)

Taking Life - One Day At A Time and One Pound At A Time
Hi everyone,
My son Daniel sits up in what I call the froggy position. He is not real steady if he doesn't have his hands and arms to support. He is almost 7 months, will be on Feb. 4. We are still toothless. He loves to roll around on the floor. He can make it across the room in no time! He is now able to roll from his back to front and then reverse. He likes to buck like a bronco when he sits in his Ultrasaucer (walker type thingy with no wheels). He babbles a little with ba ba, na na, and every so often I get a ma ma. I squeal when he does it. He has no idea what he is doing to make me so excited. It is just so sweet to hear!
Cathy29,
A teacher I worked with kept a jar of M&Ms in the bathroom, way up high. When he would use the toilet, she would give him a few M&Ms, which was a treat because he very rarely had candy. I love the idea of the cheerios! How funny and creative! I will keep all these in mind as Daniel gets closer to potty training!
------------------
Cathy29 01-24-01, 04:38 PM Thanks for all the potty training suggestions. I love the cheerios thing. I have heard it somewhere before. They also sell toilet targets at some stores. I am really not pushing the whole issue. He goes before bath time every evening, so he knows what the seat is for. My Mom is making fun because he is 2 and a half and is still wearing a diaper. I tried too soon with my daughter and got frustrated, I waited a bit and she was fully trained in about a week. So I am just going to stay chilled out about it. He'll do it when he is ready.
------------------
Well, let's see, what isn't Cameron doing these days, LOl! He is now walking, started about a month ago and he's a little pro now. Practically running already. He does laps through the house, into the kitchen and then back to the living room and dining room and then back to the kitchen. He's just so excited that he has "freedom" now! He walks around babbling like crazy.....dadada, mamamama, babababa, nananana, and gagagaga. I'm still waiting for his first real words. He is such a little copycat too. He gives us thumbs up when we do it, gives us high five, slaps his belly like Santa and roars (soooo cute). And he has a very earpiercing scream! He likes to do this to get attention, especially at dinner time or when I'm on the phone.
I also love the cheerios thing for potty training. I will try that in about a year when it is time for Cam to learn.

marysmom 01-29-01, 09:59 PM Mary just turned 10 months old yesterday. She is still toothless!!!!!! My dh threatened to buy her dentures for Christmas! lol She is starting to crawl, finally! She is too spoiled!! LOL I can't believe that in 2 months my baby will have her first birthday!

Just thought I'd add Cameron's newest little thing he does. He now puts both his arms high up in the air when we say "SUPERMAN!" And he walks around doing it all day!! Tomorrow is his 1st birthday. But today he's not feeling so well. He had a temp of 101.5 today which freaked me out since he's never really had a fever. I gave him Tylenol and it came down to 98.9. Whewww! I'm watching him closely and keep checking his temp. He has a doctors appt on Friday so the doc told me to just keep giving him the Tylenol and give him plenty of fluids. Of course if it continues, I will bring him in. My poor baby, he's been so tired today too. I hate that he is sick.
Ok, sorry to go on and on.

SunshineCol,Oh 01-30-01, 03:52 PM Well I thought I would jump in here. I have a 1 year old. She turned 1 Jan 16th. She is so much fun. She started walking at 10 months, so she is pretty much running now. LOL She talks and talks. Don't know what she is saying, but geeeese, she can talk. She says mama, dada, baba, brush, baby, puppy, cracker, and learned her first name. Jack. But she says Cack. LOL We had a fun party for her birthday the 20th. You will have to visit the web page at the bottom to see the first cake pictures and the other pics. Loves to look at all her books. And I think her favorite show is Carol Burnett for some reason. It comes on at 8 and 8:30 am and she will sit and watch the entire show. Funny. Blues Clues too. Loves the theme songs to Andy Griffith, and Golmer Pyle. It's funny to see what gets kids attention huh. I can't believe I didn't see this post sooner. Take care everyone and those little ones and big ones. :-)

SunshineCol,Oh 01-30-01, 09:43 PM Thanks Massie,
She looks like a tomboy. Just like my self for so long. Still am sometimes. It was a cute picture. And her eating that cake for the first time. Didn't know if she would do it. She played in it for a while and finally got a taste it. Didn't eat it all, but sure got messy. One picture I would have loved to have gotten and didn't was at the end when she rubbed her hands accross her head and face. What a mess. LOL
Take care,
~Stacey~
------------------
Stacey,
Cameron didn't know what to make of his bday cake. He wouldn't even touch it until I fed it to him. LOL! Then he liked it, but the ice cream, well that he spit out!! Must've been too cold for him. We had his party this past Saturday, but I'll be singing Happy Birthday to him for real tomorrow morning!
Aren't they soooooo much fun? My lil guy always makes me smile.

SunshineCol,Oh 01-30-01, 10:36 PM Bekka,
Try luke warm baths. It really helped Haley when she got a Temp. Broke it pretty quick too. Haley makes me smile every day too. She also makes me laugh all the time. Such a happy little thing. I was truly blessed with her. I was told for so many years I wasn't able to have kids unless I had surgery, and then 12 years later, here she is. She has been sooo healthy too. Got a cold that lasted a couple days and 1 time with the teething she was pretty upset. I have been really lucky with a happy, healthy, baby. Her Doctors appointment is Thursday. I will post her results and hope you do the same. I think she weighs about 26 lbs now.
Take care, and hope that little one keeps that fever down. Nothing worse than a little one that is not happy.

Well this is the 3rd day Cameron has a fever. I am taking him to the doctors in an hour. Not waiting any longer. When he got up today (I should say I got him up, he didn't even want to) his temp was 104. I immediately gave him infant motrin, and called the doc. Then gave him a bath to help bring down the fever. It's gone down, but I need to know the cause of this. He's never really been sick, just had a little cold once. I've been so lucky. This is probably why I am so worried. Well, we'll see what the doc says.
Bekka

Bekka, please let us know how he is doing, poor baby!
------------------
SunshineCol,Oh 02-01-01, 03:56 PM I was hoping to come on this after noon and hear that little Cameron is doing better. Please post as soon as you can what the Dr. says. I went to the Dr. today for Haley's 1 year visit. She got 4 shots. 1st one made her mad, the others made her cry. She gave me the biggest hug as soon as they were done with tears just pooring down. Just breaks your heart. But she got a great report. Weighs 24.9 lbs, (90% percentile) & 30 1/2 inches tall (90 % percentile). Growing very well. Got her 1 year pictures back from the studio. They turned out so good. I will be posting them on her web site if you would like to see them.
Take care and Bekka - I will be checking in to see if you have posted about your little guy. I'm sure everything will be fine.

Thanks for your concern guys. Cameron is ok. Doctor said it's just a virus and that I need not be so worried about the fever. It's his body fighting off the virus. He said that I should just keep giving him the medicine and let them know if the fever hasn't gone away by Sunday. Well, I am happy to report that Cam is definitely feeling better this afternoon. He laughed and smiled and seemed to be more himself. Hopefully this will last and the fever won't kick back in after the medicine wears off.
Stacey-- Cam was supposed to have his 1 yr visit tomorrow and get 4 shots but we postponed it since he's not feeling well. I just can't do that to my lil' guy.
Anyway, thanks again for caring everyone.
Bekka

SunshineCol,Oh 02-01-01, 05:13 PM Bekka,
I'm so glad it was just a virus. Glad he is feeling a little better. I wouldn't go get shots tomorrow either. He has been through enough. Nothing worse than a sick baby. You hate to see them not them selves. Just got Haley's studio pictures added to her site. They turned out really good. Got them done at Wal-mart.
Take care everyone and those kids.

Stacey,
Haley is sooooooo adorable!! The pics are great. Got them done at Walmart, huh? Do you mind if I ask how much it costs? We have Cameron's pics done at Sears, the prices are good cause I always get coupons in the mail but they are pretty rude about their policy. We bought their SmileSavers Plan, which is free sitting fees for 2 years. It's a really good deal, but I just don't like the service. They will take a picture and then make you decide right away if you like it before they take another one and they won't keep it, they delete it so you don't even get to choose afterwards. I don't know,it's just strange. Anyway, just wanted to tell you that Haley is beautiful.
Bekka
------------------
SunshineCol,Oh 02-01-01, 06:39 PM Bekka,
There is no sitting fee at Walmart. $3.95 for a package. 1-10X13, 2-8X10's, 3-5X7's, 4-3 1/2X5's, 21 wallets. But, they do the same thing. You have to pick your package first before they will take any more pictures. But they will take a total of 6 pictures. And you can purchase additional pictures (sizes). Since we have both family's and of course friends to give to, we got a lot. My total was $59.88. That was for my main package, and 8x10 & 5X7 & 5 wallets of 1 picture, 5X7, and 14 wallets of another, 8X10, & 9 wallets of another, plus a free 10X13 of another picture, and since they made a mistake on my free one, I got to keep the mistake and they re-ordered another picture of the right one for free. I joined their Bonus Smiles. Every visit you get a free 8X10 or 10X13. My next visit to them, I get 10 % off. And on the 3rd visit, I get a free advertised package. So that's pretty good. Next time I get pictures, I won't get as much. Being that this was her first studio pictures, and she was a year old, I wanted to make sure everyone got some.
Hope that helps.
Do you have a web site with pictures of you and your little guy?
Take care,
~Stacey~

This is great fun to read all about all of you and your babies! Stacey, your babies pictures are adorable.... my favorite is the one of her sleeping on the lion! Bekka... glad Cameron is feeling better. It's strange how quickly they can get sick and spike high fevers, worry us to death and then get better just like that! Good thing, though.... *grin* My "baby boy" will turn 21 in 3 days (the 4th)....... it's kind of making me sad. He's my youngest and the years just flew by so fast, I don't have a clue where they went and how my babies were gone so fast. My oldest daughter will be 27 on the 9th of this month. The other two will be 23 & 25 in May........ enjoy your babies, ladies. Before you know it, they will be having babies of their own. And thanks for sharing yours with me. Gives me a lot of fond memories to think about!

Bekka, Cameron is a doll baby. Don't know how I missed those pictures of you 2. And you are a very pretty gal. Such a cute picture of you 2. But the 2nd picture is too much. :-) What a little heart breaker he will be.
DJ, That is my husband's fav picture also. That is a Penn State Lion. Brian's family all went there. Brian's father passed away sometime ago, and that was one of the things that we got and have kept. Since he is a big fan, we keep it on the floor infront of our big screen. Haley was so tired one day that she used it as a pillow. She loves to hug and cuddle with things. I bet you do hate all of your kids not being kids anymore. But they will always be your kids. :-)
Take care everyone and thanks again Massie for the info.

I just have to share with you something I find so funny about Daniel. He really seems to focus on themes and women singing in commercials, probably because I sing to him a lot. Anyway, he is fascinated by the theme intro to General Hospital and likes to watch all the faces they show. It doesn't matter what he is doing, he stops when the theme song begins. He also laughs at a certain news anchor from our area. I told my husband about it but he never saw him laugh at him until last night and we both just about rolled on the floor. I'm usually feeding him about the time our evening news comes on and he just giggles every time the channel 9 news anchor Larry Moore comes onto the screen and talks. What a hoot!
Oh and for those of you who have kids that watch Nick Jr., he loves the face that appears on the screen. When face smiles, he smiles back. It is so cute!
------------------
Neek, how cute is that!!! Isn't it so wonderful to watch their little innocent faces discover new things everyday. And they bring so much joy to our lives just by being sooooooo innocent. Too bad we don't always stay that way, huh? LOL! That is funny how Daniel does that, his pics are just soooo cute by the way! Cameron has a video called Singing Babies that he likes to watch. It's babies but their mouths are replaced by kids mouths, I guess. And they sing all the great kids songs. Cameron will go right up to the TV and touch their faces and babble back at them. It is just the cutest thing to watch.
Bekka
------------------
Stacey, just read all the replies, almost missed ya. LOL! Thanks for all the info. I guess we'll stick with Sears for now since we have their plan and it's cheap prices. I will be getting his 1 yr pics back on Feb 18. I don't have a website for pics, I wouldn't have the first clue how to do it, LOL! But I will send a pic to Massie so she can put it here. Massie is my computer teacher, LOL!!
Bekka
------------------
SunshineCol,Oh 02-02-01, 10:39 AM Neek, how old is Daniel? Haley loves to watch the intro to Young & the Restless. She does the same thing. Will stop what she is doing when she hears it and walk to the TV to watch them go through the people. Also the Shirley Timple Gift Set they advertise on TV. SHE LOVES IT. I have to get it for her. Everytime they get to the part where she sings, "Animal crackers in my soup", she will turn to me and want me to sing too. So funny. They show it a lot on the cartoon net work, and I think Nick.
Bekka, Can't wait to see Cameron's pictures. It's nice to have Massie there when you need her :) Such a great gal.
Take care everyone and those little/big ones.

Stacey,
Daniel will be 7 months old on Sunday the 4th. BTW, Haley is a cutie patootie!
Bekka,
Where did you get your baby video. I've been looking for something like that for Daniel and haven't been able to locate one. I think he would get a big kick out of it.
Do we have any baby dancers yet? My girlfriend's little boy use to bounce on his knees, when he was learning to crawl, whenever he would hear music. It was so cute!
------------------
Neek, I got the video at our mall in a store called Suncoast Video. It really is great, cause it says how babies learn by watching other babies and it helps them learn to talk by watching the mouths move. Plus the songs are fun.....Old McDonald, Row your boat, Hokey Pokey, ABC's, If your happy & you know it, and tons more! Cameron loves it! Oh, and he dances like crazy, bounces up and down and moves his head side to side, he loves music. So does mommy!! LOL

SunshineCol,Oh 02-03-01, 12:17 PM Haley loves to dance. She will stand and bounce or move around and throw her arms up. I just love when she shakes that butt. LOL She loves to hear Creed. I have the CD and she will get going when she hears them. The are so cute. I will have to look for a video like that for Haley. On TV they advertise the Children's CD/Tapes 100 children songs. Don't know if you have seen it. She loves that when it comes on.
Take care and have a great weekend.

Sunshine,
Daniel also likes that commercials. There is also a commercial they play a lot here, promotion for CDs called Songs of Worship. He stops, watches, and listens when they play it.
------------------
SunshineCol,Oh 02-03-01, 10:25 PM Neek,
I've seen that one too. She will watch that one also. What little darlings they are huh. They just get so into kids. I love going to the Doctors or to the store. She really loves to see other kids and walk up to them and try to talk. Will touch them when she's talking to make sure she has their attention. LOL
Hope you are all having a great weekend.

cmommy923 02-06-01, 04:20 PM Rebecca is now giving kisses! I wasn't totally sure, but she layed 3 on her Daddy last night, then I knew! They are wet and sloppy, but they are kisses. I guess she gets so many from the 4 of us she needs to get rid of some.
SunshineCol,Oh 02-06-01, 04:32 PM Ohh how sweet Cmommy. Haley will give those very few and far between. Mostly to me and daddy hates that. But she loves to give hugs. Especially to kids. I know I get probably 10 a day from her and love every min of it. Better eat it up now huh.
~Stacey~
Oh kisses and hugs, aren't those the best?!! Cameron gives kisses too, and they are wet, sloppy, open-mouth kisses. It is sooooo funny, he comes at you with his mouth wide open and then just lays it on ya! And he's been so darn huggable lately too. He'll run right to me and give me hugs all the time now. It makes me melt every time. Don't grow up, Cam, pleeeease!!

I am a little late but I thought I would tell you about my baby.. Maggie will be 9 mths on the 15th ( where does time go).. She is such a go getter..She is crawling all over the place and getting into everything. The other day she crawled up the stairs( YIKES) . She is pulling her self up and will probably be walking by spring.. Her favorite words are tata and MOMMAME...She adores her older sister and brothers and is always smiling...She is still a toothless wonder though....
Welcome Neenal! They do grow so fast! :)
Massielita 02-08-01, 08:26 PM Hey Neek! Gabrielle's top tooth is coming out!!!! Well, one of them, lol... so she will have three, LOL! My little sharp tooth, lol, she loves biting on any fingers, hahahhaa! She is not even 8 months!
SunshineCol,Oh 02-08-01, 09:04 PM Talk about teeth, Haley has a mouth full at 1 year. She has 12 of them. When I brush her teeth with the little finger brush, I have to be quick. LOL She gets me every time.
~Stacey~
My goodness! Already three teeth! :D My baby is still gummy, all the way! Not a pearly white anywhere!
Got to share something else cute that Daniel does. Of course, I think everything he does is cute, so bear with me. :) I read him the board book Goodnight Moon every night before he goes to bed. He turns the pages all by himself! It is so cute! My parents think he's a genius. Hee,hee. I told them that turning pages on his own is not technically what they use to determine whether your child is genius. They are so funny. They can't help it, he is their first grandchild. :)
SunshineCol,Oh 02-09-01, 12:10 PM Neek, that is so funny. You gotta love Grandparents. They think their grandchild is the best thing and the smartest things on this earth. he he he I love it. Haley has loved to sit on my lap and look at books for so long. She loves to point baby's out and say bebe. so cute.
Take care,
~Stacey~
Neek, that is soooo cute! Cameron likes to turn the pages too, but he also likes to rip them out! LOL! He's ruined several of them so far, good ones too. So I've decided to keep the paper ones for when he is a bit older and for now he has some hard cardboard type ones that have little peek a boo flaps on each page. He still likes to turn the pages but he can't rip them out anymore, he he he!
Hey has anyone heard of The Wiggles? They put out several videos for little ones. I have one of them for Cameron and he just loves them. There are 5 guys and they each wear different bright colors and they sing and dance to silly songs and there are cute things like dinosaurs and octupuses, and stuff. They are great, Cameron is glued when they are on. I have to get a few more of their videos. Just wanted to pass that on if anyone is interested.
Bekka
Bekka,
Haven't heard of the Wiggles before but they sound cute. Now I've got two videos to look for. :)
Daniel is finally getting more vocal and making consonant sounds: ga,ga, ba,ba, da,da,na,na. He also seems to get a big kick out of razzing. He gets to going and his whole chin is wet! It's so funny!

cmommy923 02-10-01, 11:11 AM Rebecca is still toothless, good news on the nursing front. Melissa started getting teeth at 5 months, but Julie didn't get any till 8 months. I'm hoping Rebecca waits a long time, cause nursing is keeping her so healthy, considering she has 2 school age siblings bringing germs home.
Right now she is sitting on the floor stuffing baby blocks into her mouth. She's getting so chubby she's having trouble sitting up for any length of time.
BTW Neek, that is some exersaucer your guy has! Rebecca is making due with the 1995 model that Julie had. It's just got a little dashboard on it.
I got my pictures at walmart yesterday. I am working on a website to post them on, so you guys can see them.
I also got fabric to make easter dresses, Melissa (brunette) will be in blue, Julie (blonde) in lavender, and Rebecca in pink. All are crinkle rayon trimmed in Rick-rack. That's inspired by the Biddy Baby spring dress in the American Girl catalog, for anyone who reads those.
Oh yeah, it got up to 60 here the other day, so I put Rebecca in her backpack carrier; Julie put her doll in her carrier, and we went for a walk! It was so much fun! I can't wait for spring!
SunshineCol,Oh 02-10-01, 01:43 PM Bekka,
Haley is the same way with books. Has ripped a few, but have tons of the cardboard books. Like you said, keep the others till she gets older. But as for the ripping, she has ripped a couple of the flaps out of the cardboard books that have pop ups. Geeese. Guess she said "Ha, I can rip these too". LOL Will look for the video
Cmommy,
Can't wait to see the pictures from wal-mart. That's where I got Haley's done. They did a really good job. And boy I know what you mean about Spring. From Ohio here, and we had 2 60 degree days. Went out walking both days and loved it!!!! I WANT MORE!!!! But now we are in the 20/30's again. That is our weather for you.

Corinna 02-11-01, 04:08 PM Hi there..
Well, my baby is 2 and just doing the potty training thing too. Thing is, she goes on the potty for everyone but me. Maybe she wants to remain mommy's baby? She goes all the time at the babysitter's house.
Maybe she just doesn't want to get into a pissing contest with mom? ;)
Well, I'll get her some books and stuff so she can start learning about it differently and just work with her.
I did get her to sit on the potty with her diaper on and the lid down. It's a start, eh?
My 4 year old didn't have much trouble getting potty trained except that she used to drink SO much that she had to go all the time. I do agree about the pull ups, since she would just pee in them. But the babysitter then wouldn't let her have accidents to learn. The one we have now insists on the 2 year old learning the right way which is nice (and reminds me I need to buy cotton pull ups).

Massielita 02-11-01, 07:34 PM I think The Wiggles are Australian but don't quote me on that. They have everything The Wiggles here, from clothing, videos, books, tapes, toys and so on... They made a movie too, my kids love it, LOL!
Massie, I think you may be right about the Wiggles. But I'm not sure either. LOL!
Bekka
Massielita 02-11-01, 10:04 PM I was right Bekka! LOL, check this out!
http://www.thewiggles.com.au/
I remember my son singing their songs all the time. He was in grade one last year and they sing Wiggles songs at school!!!! LOL "fruit salad, yummy yummy!" ROFLMAO!!!
cmommy923 02-12-01, 05:36 PM I saw them on the today show a couple weeks ago. They sure beat the heck outa the telatubbies.
Well, Daniel got his first haircut today! His funky hair is gone and he looks so cute. I was tired of fighting with his cow lick so I took a pair of scissors and *snip* it was gone!
I'm available for appts. Any takers? :D
I'll have to post a new picture of him with tamed hair!
Massielita 02-16-01, 06:40 PM Oh Neek that is too funny! Gabby has long hair near her eyes, I have been wondering too! But I don't dare... :)
Neek, too cute! I wish Cameron had some hair for me to worry about! LOL! But actually it's finally starting to come in, just a bit. But I have to say it is really easy at bath time, a wipe with the towel and he's all set! LOL!
Bekka
I had to cut it. My hubby wanted us to take him to a hair salon. I'm like for what? To snip his comb over? Ahhh, did it myself! He looks so cute! Everywhere we went people commented on his hair, how wild it was. And it was! They thought it was static electricity. I'm like, oh no, it's that way all the time. No more will I have people laughing at my baby's hair. Poor sweetie! Ah hell, he didn't care. Neither did I, for that matter. But I got tired of trying to comb it down to only see it pop up in back. :)
Last weekend my parents came up. They bought him this stuffed dog that plays music. The first thing he did to it was kiss it on its nose. It was so cute! At first we thought he was just trying to taste it, like everything else he gets a hold of. Last night, we put the dog in front of him again and he leaned down and gently placed his lips on the dog's face! Oh, my heart just melted! What a sweetie! :)
SunshineCol,Oh 02-27-01, 07:36 PM Awhhh, that is sweet Neek. Haley is in this kissing stage big time now. She kisses me at least 10 times a day. Tries to kiss our dog, but she don't let her very often. LOL It is the sweetest thing when they hug and kiss their stuffed animals, and dolls.
Hope you are doing good Neek. I will get some more recipe's to you soon. I have been so busy. Couldn't make chat last night. Did you? Take care,
~Stacey~
