View Full Version : Christy's Journal
ccargle 02-06-01, 03:41 PM Hi all,
I'm new to this board but I wanted to post my journal online. I think it may help. I began this "new way of eating" on January 10, 2001. I am eating anywhere from 1,000 to 1,500 calories a day. So far, I've lost 10.5 lbs since then. Here is todays journal entry:
For breakfast I had an english muffin (sourdough) that had 150 calories and 1.5 G fat (sprayed with "I can't believe it's not butter" spray - NO CALORIES). I also had a little piece of a brownie which had 80 calories and 1.5 G fat.
For snack I had a sugar free fudgesicle that has 45 calories and .5 G fat.
For lunch: Smart Ones "Oven roasted Veggie Primivera" with 300 calories and 8 G fat. For dessert I had 4 1/2 snackwell's mini choc. chip cookies which is 45 calories and .5 G fat.
For dinner I will have a 6" subway sandwich (Veggie Delite) that has 200 calories and 2.5 G fat. One serving of WOW! potato chips that has 75 calories and no fat with a caffeine free diet coke. undefined
ccargle 02-06-01, 03:57 PM Oops! I forgot to list info about myself. When I first started this low cal eating I weighed (now don't be too shocked!) 324.5. I now weigh (just less than a month later) 314. I am 5'9 1/2" tall. I carry my weight rather well, people have told me I look like I weigh around 200 or so. I'm a 22 year old female who lives in Texas. I am an administrative assistant and I am going back to school to become an elementary school teacher. I am also taking voice lessons (that's fun!). I guess that's about it! :)
Melissa 02-06-01, 07:30 PM You are doing good with choosing the right foods! At least in my little opinion you are. :)
Are you drinking lots of water too? Which reminds me-- I'm behind on my water quota for the day. Good luck!
(by the way, I'm a native Texan born in Del Rio and live in Florida now)

Christy,
Sounds like you are accomplishing all your goals! How wonderful! I'm an elementary teacher. That's quite a career change! You'll love it though. May not get the money you once got, but the personal rewards far outweigh the smaller salary! Good Luck!

JellyBean 02-09-01, 04:37 PM Hi Christy! It sounds like you are well on your weigh -ha-ha! How have you remained motivated and faithful? I started on Jan. 9 - and have since floundered the past week and a half.
I hope you keep up the great work! I'll be checking on you!
JellyBean
ccargle 02-09-01, 04:48 PM Hi JellyBean! I love your name by the way!
Let’s see..the way I stay motivated is that I realized that if I don’t do something to change myself, no one else will. I had always looked for the “miracle” diet and there never was one. I used to take redux and lost a tremendous amount of weight, but put it all back on, PLUS SOME!!!
Anywho, I just realized that I do love myself enough to make a better life for myself.
When you say you “floundered”…what happened exactly? I have had things that I know aren’t that great for me, but I eat them in moderation so I know that it is not that bad. Like, for example, I often have 1 hershey kiss a day. It takes care of that nasty chocolate craving and is only 25 calories and 1.5 g of fat. It’s all about moderation. Another example is the fact that my family and I went out to Joe’s crab shack for my dad’s birthday on Saturday…I knew that we were going out so I ate VERY little the whole day so I wouldn’t mess up my calories. I can’t deny myself the things I love or going out to eat once in a while, then it would be a diet and not considered a new lifestyle…right?
Ok, now that I’ve typed too much and my fingers are going to fall off, I’ll stop! ;)
Make it a great day!!
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D
Christy,
You are so right! I think your motivation is inspiring. I, too, am trying to make a lifestyle change, rather than just trying out another diet. I really think it is the only way to win this war. I've had a hard time lately, after doing well for about a month, really fell off the wagon so to speak. I wish you continued success and will be checking on you often! Good Luck! :)
ccargle 02-12-01, 09:40 AM Good morning!! :)
Hope everyone is doing well!
For this weekend, I kinda ate a little bad, but nothing to beat myself up over. I mean, I can’t go back and change it, so why agonize over it ya know. This is what happened this weekend…
On Saturday, my friend Frances and I went to Chili’s…I was planning on having a guiltless chicken sandwich, but the Chicken Ranch Sandwich looked SO good, so I ordered that. However, I only ate half and maybe 1/4 of my french fries…so I guess not TOO terribly bad there. Then that night, my friend was still with me, so I fixed a rice dinner for us. It wasn’t that fattening, but had a lot of calories. But, again, I only had about 1/2 serving.
Then, yesterday for lunch my mom took me and my sister too Fresh Choice where I ate really good until I had two pieces of garlic bread w/ butter. Then, for dinner last night I had two small pieces of cheese pizza. I feel awful for eating that much grease and I will not do it again for a long time. I literally felt sick to my stomach last night and had to skip my workout this morning because of it.
BUT, I am starting over today. I am going to workout again starting tomorrow morning. I will not let this stop me. I will keep going. I will win this war. I did go shopping for new jeans and bought 2 sizes smaller!! WHOOO-HOOO!! *big grin*
Alrighty, I’ve got to get back to work. Please feel free to comment and/or give advice. Thanks!!
Make it a great day!!!
:D :D :D :D :D :D :D

Christy,
Looks like you are on the right track. I like your attitude! As far as the slip ups, you handled them perfectly. Don't dwell on it and move on! I wish I could remind myself to do that! =) And congratulations on the smaller sizes! Nothing beats that feeling! Victory!
