Okay, here we go, my first journal entry. Now that I've started my 21 day challenge, I'm obligated to stick to this! :)

Breakfast - bowl of cheerios (no milk), orange juice
Lunch - plain roast beef sandwich, salad with catalina dressing, skim milk
Snack - coffee with milk
Dinner (which I haven't eaten yet) - bowl of white rice, half a red pepper, skim milk

A sidenote: I'm really trying to drink a lot of milk. It's not low-cal by any means but I'm a teenager, gotta get my calcium. :)

Hi Stephanie,

First of all, well done on making a great start to your challenge. You sound like you're really committed to it. I'm certain you're going to do really well and see some good results.

You mention that you're a teenager. I'm a little bit worried that you might be cutting your food intake a little bit too low. Don't forget that you need to be taking in enough calories (and vitamins and minerals) to promote (healthy) growth. Please don't take this as a criticism, I just want to make sure you remain healthy whilst you are losing this weight.

Again, well done on a brilliant start to your challenge. Keep us up to date with your progress.

Michelle

Thanks for the encouragement Michelle! I don't actually count calories (beyond making sure it's healthy food), I just eat when I'm hungry.. I figure if I'm not getting enough then I'll know, right? :D I guess it doesn't sound like much, but the portions aren't small or anything.

Vitamin and mineral wise.. I got some multi vitamins yesterday, and I took one today. They're supposed to be chewable.. but they're overly sweet, kinda disgusting. They're definitely better than the last kind I tried that smelled so bad I couldn't bear to swallow them. What is it with the vitamin industry, can't they make vitamins appealing?!

Anyway.. here's the journal for today..

Breakfast - bowl of cheerios with skim milk, orange juice
Lunch - yogurt, leftover rice with salad dressing, Snapple
Dinner - A tortilla wrap with salmon & vegetables, a few grapes, Crystal Light to drink

Breakfast - a small carrot muffin, a nectarine
Lunch - sandwich made with pita bread, chicken cold cuts, mustard, processed cheese slices & various vegetables, a small apple
Dinner - two wraps just like the one yesterday, with half a cheese slice on each, a few grapes, skim milk
Other - waay too many slices of gum today.. yeah I'm a major gum chewer these days..

Now I'm going out for my walk :D and hopefully I won't have anything else to report today.. it's still early but I've already eaten enough.

And with that last sentence begins the problem of the night.

*sigh* I binged on rice cakes, of all things. Rice cakes! How incredibly boring is that?

I didn't even go for my walk. I'm going to do my weight training at least, I'm determined. I'm forcing myself.

Tomorrow is another day!

Well, here's an entry for the last 3 days, all in one. I can't really recall everything I've eaten--but it has definitely NOT been good. Ugh. I have issues that have issues that have issues, and I can't even figure out what they are except that it seems like I'm out to destroy myself.

Today there was a little light at the end of the tunnel--I was able to squeeze into a pair of jeans that have never fit me right. But I'm questioning even that.. maybe they always fit right.. I don't know.. it's a little something to encourage me I guess. I have to get back on track here.
