Jennalynn 05-15-01, 04:27 PM Hi Trynya. It looks good. My only suggestion would be to spread your calories out a little better. Maybe soup or a salad with lunch so that you are eating more at lunch time to fill you up. I noticed on the other boards you said you tend to be hungry. By distributing your calories more it will give you more energy during the day for your walks, and you won't be trying to burn off such a huge meal later in the day. If you don't burn it off, it is stored as fat.
Not too long ago we were almost neighbors. I was living with my boyfriend in Danvers. Right now we are separated, but hopefully if things work out, I'll be moving back. We have a two year old daughter together. I also have a seven year old daughter. I miss Salem. I used to hang out there with friends. I also lived out that way about 8 years ago, for about a year. Maybe I'll come up that way next weekend.
If you'd like you can check out my food journal. It seems like the calorie counting is working for you. Good work. -Jennalynn
Hi Jennalynn...thanks for replying. Spreading out my calories more is one thing I am trying to work out, but my biggest issue with it right now is my husband likes to eat a normal sized dinner (entree, side dish, salad) because he is a light eater during the day, so I wind up cooking a larger meal then, which is why I eat less earlier. I am slowly trying to get him to eat more at lunch so that I can too, so that we can have a smaller dinner. I tried a day or two eating a larger lunch, making him the normal dinner, and eating a smaller dinner myself, but I wound up picking at the stuff I made for him too. So you see my issue. I will work it out eventually I am sure...this is all so new it is still kind of hard.
Wow, if you were in Danvers we would be neighbors! I like Salem a lot, but we are moving out of Salem at the end of June and moving to the South Shore where we are buying our first house. House prices are just much better south of Boston.
Well anyway, here's my journal for:

Lindasue 05-17-01, 11:36 AM Hi I wanted to post a howdy back at you. Wow. Great menus. I am the spartan type lately. The less choices the better. Its safer that way. I admire you for your variety. You will succeed in your goals. I have total faith in you. And, can you come down to Gettysburg to cook for me? I promise to return the favor. Take care. Linda
Good work Jaimie. I was wondering how you were doing with the advice from your Dietician/Nutritionist. Looks like you are doing just great.
One little word of advice re: eating along with your husband. I married a guy who is a muscular 6'1". Needless to say, he has always been able to pack it away while I have to watch it. Luckily for me he has always accepted the fact that I can't eat the same way he does and he doesn't think it is too weird if I just eat a can of tuna and a salad while he eats whatever. It sounds like you have a supportive husband, so don't worry...you are not abandoning him when you don't eat along with him.
Keep up the good work, Jaimie. You are doing really well and I am sure you will be seeing some great results.
Thanks Artsy & Lindasue for the replies...I'd love to come to Gettysburg but I don't know about the cooking part (lol).

Jennalynn 05-18-01, 12:04 PM Jamie, I was wondering if the nutritionist gave you any great advice besides counting calories. I was wondering if she suggested so many servings a day from each of the food groups or a specific meal plan. The ex saw a nutritionist, because of food allergies, and he said she wasn't very helpful at all. I feel like they know something the rest of us don't. It looks like counting calories is working though. That is what I have been doing too.
Hi Jennalynn...
Well, the nutritionist basically set three plans in front of me and helped me choose. 1)Calorie Counting, 2)Food Exchanges, 3)Food Pyramid. Once I picked calorie counting (it seemed like the most realistic for me at the time), she told me that in a month when I visit her again we will evaluate how I am doing on it, and we can alter it to include the other plans or stick with it, or go to another plan altogether if I want to. She suggested Weight Watchers, also, if I could afford it (which I can't unfortunately). She talked about what my healthy weight should be (higher than I thought she would say...she was realistic which was nice), and how long it should take me to get there. She stressed portion sizes. She stressed exercise (any amount and any kind for now, just to get started on a routine). She stressed keeping a food journal, but also to write down what I am feeling when I eat if it's out of the ordinary. And she gave me informaton to read about eating disorders (which she feels I may have one, and wants to dig into that further as time goes on). Overall I thought she was helpful, mainly because I have someone of "authority" to have to report to. I don't want to look like a failure! She was nice, I think it was a good move for me.
Hope that answers your question!
J.

Jaimie...you are fighting the good fight and it will pay off. I see your weight is moving down, which is great. I would love to lose another pound before the end of the month. I asked the Naturopath today about 'grazing" instead of 3 meals a day, and she feels it is best to give your digestive system a break. She advised me to use more "good quality oils" with my meals and the rest is basically up to me. Soo...I am working on self-control issues (translating into eating) too. I wish I didn't have issues with food...I wish it was just food. I will have to work more on that myself.
Artsy, wouldn't it be so much easier if food was only food? Wow I can't even imagine! Thinking about food all day is such a part of my daily existence I don't know what I would do with myself if I wasn't thinking about it! I'd have a lot more spare time on my hands, I think.
Out of curiousity, what kinds of oils are you using in your cooking?
Anyway...here's yesterday's breakdown:
Thursday 5-25-01
Breakfast
1 c. Crispix & 1/2 c. skim milk (150)
Snack
1 banana (105)
8 oz. honey lemon green tea w/1 packet splenda (0)

Just wanted to let you all who know me as Trynya know that I changed the way my name is publicly displayed to Jamie. I feel the need to be myself lately :) and it seems like a good place to start.
I'll see how it goes, I might go back to displaying Trynya...I am experimenting.
Also after the discussions on stats and all that with Angluvmrcy, I have adjusted my signature to reflect a few more things about me. If anyone wants to know anything else, just ask.
:)

Jaimie: according to the Naturopath, good quality oils are olive oil, safflower oil and (get this) ground up flax seeds. She said to make a salad dressing of olive oil, chopped up dried apricots and ground flax seeds and pour it over my salad. You have to appreciate that this is a person who would probably look into a ditch full of weeds and see a salad bar...I don't think she has been near junk food for years.
Good work with the 3/4 mile walk and with keeping up your journal. I know it would be good for me to keep a journal, but I just can't seem to stick with it.
Keeping a journal is indeed helpful, Artsy. And I know, can you believe some of the stuff those "natural" people want you to eat? They tried to put my husband on a weird diet once with miso soup and seaweed and weird stuff like that. A lot of stuff you find around the New England seashore at low tide :G:.

1luckystar 05-29-01, 01:38 PM Hey Jamie!
I have been thinking of you a lot lately and wondering how you were doing moving to the new house. What an accomplishment! :D
You are doing so well! I am really proud of you!
Do you like using Splenda? Haven't tried it yet but cutting out the aspartame had done the trick of getting rid of my migraines, haven't had one in two weeks! So I need something else to use instead.
Hope you are having a wonderful day!
Take Care,
1luckystar *
Thanks much for dropping by, 1luckystar! I haven't done the move yet, we are still about 30 days away from closing...just lots of packing and sorting right now...don't want to drag a bunch of junk we don't need along with us!
I am doing pretty good with this calorie counting. My scale this morning showed down three more pounds from last week. I'm not gonna tell you it is easy though. It's a big pain in the neck! But you can't argue if it's working!
I like the Splenda a lot. It doesn't have a funny aftertaste like some artificial sweeteners do. Defintely give it a try...bet you will like it!
See ya soon!
J.
Jaimie: Congratulations on the 3 pound loss from last week. That is really super and a testiment to your hard work sticking to the plan. How much have you lost since you saw the Nutritionist? All that packing and lifting and moving must be burning the calories, too. Good work on doing those walks along with the other activity.
Your comment about the miso soup reminded me of the time I was in charge of a banquet for alot of people who live in the northern part of our province. Miso soup was a choice with one of the menus and I didn't know what it was, but it sounded interesting. Needless to say, when they started serving the soup there was quite a murmer in hall, as the folks from cattle country looked it over. Most people didn't eat it, and one person referred to it as "eau de sewage outfall". I was horrified and felt terrible, and I think all the people at my table ate it just to make me feel better.
I try to eat more ethnic foods when I get the opportunity. Have you tried "hot and sour soup"? I want to find a recipe for that.
Hi Artsy...what a terrible memory of miso soup! I have tried hot and sour soup and think it is really good! My mom used to have a recipe for it....I will have to ask her if she still has it.
Since I saw the nutritionist the first time at the end of April I have lost (according to my scale) 7 lbs. Wooo hoo. I see her again Thursday, so we will see what she says, but I know my clothes are getting loose.
Well here's the scoop on yesterday:

We wound up going out to eat last night even though I had planned dinner at home. Shaun's grandfather was put in the hospital and we had to go there right after work, and didn't get home until very late. So we ate near the hospital and I never got to exercise. I was pretty happy with my choices at the restaurant though...even though I went a few calories over, it could have been a lot worse. The place had some awesome looking fried seafood.

Good work Jamie...seven pounds lost this month...and that is on top of what you managed to lose without the nutritionists advice. A seven pound loss is always the weight loss when I feel better in my clothes...they jut fit bit, especially around the waist. You are doing really well and I think you made great choices for the type of day you had.
Hi everyone & good morning.
My clothes are feeling better on me, Artsy. I have gone down 1 size in some brands I buy and 2 sizes in others. :)
Well I kinda blew it last night. More chaos in my family and we wound up at a restaurant after a VERY stressful day and my willpower didn't hold out for me very well.
Anyway here goes:

Jamie I read through your menus and you have such good choices, most of the time, which is normal. But they look real good! Keep up the good work.
I've found that I have a filtered bottle water container for work and one at home fill it up with water helps me. Mine I can fill with ice, which helps keep it cold (I like it cold). Maybe that might help you with the weekends, have a bottle of water handy. It might be a bit hard while you're packing/sorting, etc., but it's an idea. Oh, there are shoulder straps or carrying cases for them too (usually in the sporting goods, exercise equipment section of stores) so as you move from room to room and carry boxes you can just throw it over your shoulder and have it with you. It's a thought.
Keep up the good work.
Jamie...forget about dinner last night. You did great up until then, and even dinner wasn't a blow out (like I didn't see cheesecake or anything like that on the list). These things will pass...have a great day today and tomorrow.
By the way..have you given any thought to changing your diet to one of those other options your nutritionist mentioned?
1luckystar 05-31-01, 10:10 PM Hey Jamie!
Remember what you told me "Women can't live on salad alone!" Don't you love it when your own words come back to haunt you. :x You always make such good choices so this will not set you back. I know you will get right back on track. Keep the faith!
Take Care,
*

Thanks everybody for your encouraging words.
Debbi-Your water ideas are good ones. I do need to get better at drinking my water on weekends...maybe one of those little carriers will make a difference. Thanks!
Artsy-I took a look at the other diets the nutritionist told me about, and I feel like they would be more restrictive to me, and I don't think I should restrict myself any more than I already am...any time I have tried something so restrictive it blows up in my face. So for now I am sticking to the calorie counting.
Karen-You got me! You are too funny. Yep my own words biting me in the butt. LOL.
Well, I saw the nutritionist again yesterday afternoon. One month of healthy eating down, a lifetime to go ha ha. By her scale I have lost TEN pounds this month, not seven like my scale at home says. I am going to keep posting my stats by my home scale though, and just take those three extra lost pounds as a bonus! But that means that I did succeed at my goal for May which was to lose 8 pounds. I beat it by two! Woo hoo!
Anyway here's my info for yesterday:

Wowee...a 10 pound loss in a month confirmed by an impartial professional person...I would be doing a tap dance up the street! Great work, Jamie. You are making this plan work for you. I lost 2 pounds this month..my weight went up a pound this morning, but "oh well". I am happy with a 2 pounds a month rate because I will be at my goal weight by the end of September if I can keep it going.
How is your unpacking going? I have been painting door frames, doors and bi-fold doors. We are going to move the furniture out of our bedroom on Sunday so I can start painting that next week. It is so nice to see nice clean paint.
ThinLynn 06-02-01, 04:59 PM Jamie,
I just read through your whole journal. I'm so happy for you! Little changes add up to big changes, and you are really hanging in there. Good work!
ThinLynn
Marmalade 06-02-01, 08:02 PM Hey Jamie,
just wanted to say hi and let you know that I think you are doing great on your plan. Realistic calories, walking and a great attitude towards those inevitable slips (jeez, we are human right! lol), I am sure that you will keep moving towards your goal. Careful with that packing...it's amazing how much stuff you can actually get into a box!!!
Take care,
Hi everybody...happy June and happy Monday  I can't believe it is June already!
Thanks Artsy, Bailee, ThinLynn, and Clozzie for stopping by! It is nice to see people are visiting me! Artsy, the packing is still going on...and Clozzie do I ever know what you mean about those boxes. A small box that you don't think has much in it weighs a TON and it's like, geez, how much crap do I really own??? I can't wait to get into the house the end of the month...I am actually looking forward to the painting and maintenance we have to do when we get there. And I usually hate manual labor type stuff, so it's funny I am excited about it.
I am setting a set of goals for the month of June...so here they are:
1) Lose 4 more pounds (1 per week).
2) Walk at least a half mile every day except Sunday.
Well, anyway, my weekend was so-so. Not the greatest start for the month, but I didn't decide on my goals until today, so oh well.

1luckystar 06-04-01, 10:00 PM Hey Jamie!
I went to a wedding this weekend too. It is that time of year again! Sorry you felt so bad afterwards.
Great idea to have a goal for the month. I may steal that idea from you.
I never realized how much stuff we had until we moved last year. Thank goodness that the military paid for it! We had an eighteen wheeler full, and there is only two of us! That was after we got rid of lots of stuff too. It is amazing how much we accumulate over the years. Including a few pounds!
LOL! To bad we can't just pack those up and send them off to someone in another country!
Take Care!
hi jamie,
i think its great that you have made some goals for this month. i like to do this also and i havent made mine yet so i better get going!
you are doing really well. forget about the wedding food and keep hanging in there.
hugs bell :)
Jamie...I went out on Saturday night too, and I didn't get sick, so the excess is sitting right on my rear end. I was up 3 pounds this morning and I think (hope) some of it is salt from the Greek Salad I ate. However, some of it is probably fat, too. I have been working hard with painting and gardening. I feel like I have done a major leg workout. Keep up the good work!
Big Bones 06-04-01, 10:58 PM So you overindulged... big deal! ;) You've got some good, realistic goals in place for June. Good luck in continuing your journey! :x
Marmalade 06-04-01, 11:04 PM Hi Jamie,
I think you did great at the wedding considering you were faced with what seemed like every delectable treat under the sun (if your choices are anyhting to go by lol). Love your plan for the month...think I might 'borrow' that idea for my journal :o
Have a great week.
Thanks everyone for your supportive notes.
Well, today was weigh in day for me. Down one pound from last week to 206 by my scale.
I have been slacking on the exercise and water portion of my plan the last week or so. It started because of my back pain and hasn't gone back to normal. By the end of this week, I plan to be back on track with my exercise and water drinking.

You have a great attitude Jamie. Your food plan is going well, so you are going to focus on water and exercise. Atta girl. You have lost almost 20 pounds since starting here...that is a major success! You should buy yourself something nice to celebrate...like some walking shoes or workout gear to help you with you newest efforts.

Hi everybody...
My stress level is off the charts. It's making me sick to my stomach and in danger of a binge at the same time. I am trying to think relaxing thoughts but it is tough while being locked into my stressful situations (work, packing, etc.). I ordered a meditation CD from amazon.com. Hope it gets here soon because my head just might explode (have any of you seen Scanners?) if I can't relax soon.

Hi Jamie. I'm sorry your so stressed I hope it gets better. I have found when I'm stressed and my stomach starts giving me trouble I take some Tums. That sometimes helps.
I like your exercising of taking 1/2 miles walks 3 times a day, that adds up. A good way to go. And when you'r as busy as you seem to be a good way to release stress throughout the day and you don't have to worry about finding time to walk the entire mile and a half.
:rose:
discomama 06-08-01, 11:16 AM JAMIE!!! STOP!!! BREATHE!!! DO NOT BINGE!!!
How smart of you to order a meditation tape. I use a LOT of relaxation and meditation to get me through the day. Like everything else, it requires practice but can literally save lives! Until your tape comes in, use this today:
Sit someplace that is relatively quiet, preferably outside if you can get there, at your desk is just as fine. Just sit quietly with a straight back, close your eyes or keep them soft, unfocused. Imagine the bottom of your spine connecting with the earth, going in like roots. Breathe in deeply, as you breathe out, let all your tensions and stress flow down through your "roots. Sit up straighter and breathe in again, slowly and deeply. As you inhale, imagine all the goodness and graces from the Sky coming in through the top of your head, filling you with peace and balance.
Doing this even 3 times can make a BIG difference. Good luck. By the way, if you need more, I've got plenty!!!!
HeatherC 06-08-01, 12:01 PM Hi Jamie, I just wanted to check in and say I feel for you and I am proud of you for coming here and posting instead of hiding and binging. My fav stress buster is walking, with nice music or meditation tape is even better. I talk to myself, I work out my problems, I vent without hurting anyone. Its all good. ((HUGS)) and hope you feel better soon. Love, Heather
Thanks so much Debbi and Joni for your support. I have taken some tums and I plan on doing Joni's mini-meditation at lunch when I can get out of this place for a few minutes. I am still very stressed and I did eat a donut  but thankfully I stopped at just one because it hit my stomach like lead, and it made me realize that eating wasn't gonna help. It just made me feel worse. Anyway, I will just have to plan the rest of my calories for the day around the donut. No biggie, it is still early.
Thanks again you guys for your help.
J. :rose:
P.S. I must have been posting the same time Heather was...so I have to say thank you for caring Heather! I appreciate it you guys.

Jamie...sounds like you are working too hard and you need to take a day off. I bet you are a pretty hard boss on yourself. When I start to feel overwhelmed by things, I just back off and take some time to myself. It is amazing how many things can sit a day or two. Ask yourself where the pressure is coming from...if it is coming from you, you can just be a little kinder to yourself.
1luckystar 06-08-01, 09:27 PM Hey there girl!
I hope that your day has gotten better! Take it easy tonight and get a good nights sleep. Make sure to be kind to yourself and remember that this to shall pass. :x With so much going on with the move and work don't let yourself get overloaded . Take a step back, breathe, and think how happy you will be when you are in your own home! Also make sure to get your hubby to give you a BIG hug!
It shows a lot that you stopped at one donut! Keep it up!
Take Care! *
discomama 06-10-01, 10:25 PM Jamie, I am SO PROUD OF YOU!!! You ate one donut and realized it felt yukky and didn't take your problem away! That is EXACTLY why we are here...to redefine how we use and look at food! YOU'RE DOING IT!!! Keep up that awareness and the pounds will come off before you know it!! I'm thinking of you and hoping you are feeling better. NOTHING is worse than beign totally stressed out!!!
Thanks artsy, karen, and joni for stopping by. I appreciate your support very much.
Well, my weekend did little to alleviate my stress. Packed all weekend, threw my back out (AGAIN!!!), was sick Sunday, ate nothing but junk food all weekend (within my calories for the most part, but junk food nevertheless), and my husband lost his wedding band! Jamie... just focus on the good news...19 pounds lost and staying within your calorie range. Did you ever get back to see the nutrionist again? If you did, how did it go...did you gain any more insights into your eating?
Good morning everyone.
Hi Artsy, yes I went to the nutritionist a few weeks ago again. We discussed my emotional eating/brought on by stress. She suggested meditation (which I am trying now, but having a hard time getting used to), and looking into some other forms of stress reduction (a class, books, something like that).
Speaking of stress, to my disappointment I realized this morning that I am allowing it to get the better of me. I weighed in today and for the first time since I started counting calories, I had no loss for the week. Now, my TOM is approaching, I know that, but I looked back at my food journal and I am noticing foolish choices I was beginning to make...staying within my calories or very close, but eating things with a lot of fat, slowing down on the exercise, etc. And I can look at every day that I did that and think of a situation on that day that put me under a lot of strain. (There's been a lot of those lately!) Another issue has been eating out. We have started eating out too much because I have been too down to feel like cooking. This is adding on calories and fat I don't need. Eating out once a week or so is fine...this two or three times a week is too much. Not to mention we can't really afford to keep doing it.
Anyway...I am recommitting to myself beginning now. I guess I should just be thankful I figured this out before I started sliding backwards.
I need to be good to myself again. NOW.

Hi Jamie,
Here is a ducky for all the good work you are doing.
How is the packing going?
I'm also moving (25th) and can hardly stand the sight of another box.
The last time we moved it was just my hubby and I but now there are also 2 kids.
Boy, they have a lot of stuff; you don't realize that in day-to-day life.
I really have to sort through it when they are sleeping because if they see me make an attempt to throw some out, all of the sudden it is their most FAV thing. 8-}
I hope that by now you have received the meditation tape and that it is working.
Keep it cool and :peace:.

Those stars you found sound so cool! You are more than welcome to borrow the idea! What are buddies for! Will let you know when I finally find my first one!

1luckystar 06-18-01, 05:00 PM Hey girl! The little duckie since I know ya love it! I sent you an email. Still having problems with mine, but you will be able to read all about it.
Do the best you can until you get moved then I know there will be no stopping you! There will be more time to focus on you and those pounds will just start melting away!
Sorry to hear you have been left all alone at work, better than Medusa being on your back? I hope that things get easier or that you find something better and closer to your new home.
Will talk at ya later!
Jamie, you are doing well as far as I can see. Maybe it doesn't FEEL like it is going as well as it should, but lots of people would be cramming food in their mouths to get through the long days you are putting in. Kudos to you, kid.
Thanks Karen and Artsy, I needed a little bit of positive reinforcement today! I guess I am doing pretty good considering everything going on in my life at the moment. Today was weigh in day for me, and no loss no gain again this week, but TOM is here and you know how that goes. Ohhh well.
I am doing TERRIBLE on my water and exercise (too hot to walk very far, my living room is crammed with boxes so no room to do my Simmons tapes) and I have got to work on that.
Anyway here is yesterdays food journal:

1luckystar 06-19-01, 01:07 PM J-
Just wanted to say hi before I go get ready to go to work, and face my Medusa! She has only been a little bit of a hag lately. I think others have started to get on to her about the way she was treating me. They don't want to see me leave.
Maybe we need some type of plan to get our a kick start on our exercise. Any ideas?
Will be checking in on ya later. You can do this, and we can do this together!
Take Care!
Another good day of eating, Jamie. You will probably have a bigger drop than usual next week because of TOM. (it always messes me up hugely)
1luckystar 06-21-01, 01:14 AM Hellooooooooooo! (Echo, Echo, Echo) Where are youuuuuuuuuuuuu? (Echo, Echo, Echo) Just wondering how you are doing! Probably packing your life away. You didn't pack the computer by mistake did you? LOL!
Will check on you again later!
discomama 06-21-01, 08:47 AM In spite of fighting choc cravings and stress you are doing pretty well. I have choc cravings, too and use those FF pudding cups. Have you tried them? They really work for me. With FF Cool Whip, of course! You are doing great! HAng in there, we will BOTH be seeing that 200 mark SOON!!!

Hi everybody.
Karen I am here. I was not here yesterday because I was reallllly busy at work and didn't get to mess around on the computer at all (highly unusual!) and then I didn't get home till late, to late to get on the computer. It was past my bedtime!
Joni...I have tried the chocolate pudding cups...they unfortunately don't do much for me. I love the vanilla ones, but they don't help the chocolate cravings. So back at square one on chocolate. I should try the chocolate ones with the cool whip though, that may help me, I may like them better that way.
Well Tuesday when I did my own weigh in I hadn't lost anything. But today when I weighed for the 2 down challenge, the scale shows down 1 pound. I am happy about that because it's still TOM time. But I guess maybe I have gotten rid of some of the pre-TOM water weight. So I am officially at 204...exactly 20 pounds gone since January when I started out. Slow going but glad to be here.

HeatherC 06-21-01, 11:49 AM Hi Jamie! You are doing just Ducky! I am sorry you are in packing hell. Moving is dreadful. I hope you are settled in your lovely new home soon!
When I get a chocolate craving I get a small packet of Hershey's kisses, the candy bar size pack that only has 6 kisses. I give 2 away, and eat the other 4, one at a time, very slowly. I think it is only about 100 cals for 4, so easy to work into my daily calories and sometimes heads off a bigger chocolate binge. Keep up the great work. Maybe you could go for a little walk after dinner with your sweetie? Sometimes it is cooler then. Love, Heather
Jamie...another good thing for the chocolate urges are Fudgicles. I think they are only about 90 calories each, and not too high on the fat. You are doing well. Twenty pounds is alot of weight to lose!! You should celebrate that and post under "Success".
Hey, it doesn't matter how slow or how fast you lose it. GONE is GONE, that is what matters.
Don't you just feel great being 20 lbs lighter? Do you already notice certain things going easier, for sure your clothes must feel pretty big. :)
Moving day is getting closer. Are you nervous about it?
Monday is our day, I'll be so happy when it is all over and done with. Do you move into a new house? Our house is 30 yrs. old and so after moving in, we have to start renovating. Another 10-year project. :D
Oh well, otherwise life would be pretty boring!
Keep it up Jamie and good luck with packing.
Noenoe
Hi one and all...
I have been a very bad girl :(...I haven't kept my food journal for 3 days ...we inadvertantly packed my calorie counting books and I can't figure out what box they are in! I have been watching my quantities (been eating a lot of junk type food, just not too much at a time). We are still pretty much out of groceries...have enough stuff for 2 dinners and 2 lunches this week, but that's it. Haven't done any "exercise" but I have been working my butt off packing and moving boxes and what not...up and down the stairs over and over and over again carrying boxes here and there and everywhere. I weighed in Sunday morning before we packed the bathroom scale and it showed I was down to 202...two pounds down from last week and my TOM. I will take it as my weigh in for the week, because now my scale is in a box somewhere too!
Ugh I can't wait for this to all be over with. I need some stability again!
Thanks to everyone who has stopped by!
J.
Jamie...great work at the house and congratulations on being down 2 pounds this week. Just keep on doing what you are doing because it is working. When is your estimated time to move?
Hi Artsy thanks for dropping in. We move this Friday the 29th (YIPPEEEEEE!!!). Then I am off for a week from work to get things together. I am feeling very out of sorts and out of control. I went to make dinner last night and couldn't because it turns out I packed the can opener! So we had to order pizza because I couldn't find it! UGH. Everywhere in my house I am dodging boxes and tripping over things and feel like my life is in chaos! My eating is chaos too...I need to get things back to normal because I don't want to start backsliding!
Well just wanted to check in. Have a great day everyone.
J.
Three more days and you can start putting things back together at the other end. I am getting the feeling that the computer is the last thing you are packing! Are you moving a long ways away so that you are leaving your job too, or is it a "local" move?
1luckystar 06-27-01, 12:07 AM A little ducky for you! I know its your fave!
Just a few more days and your world won't feel like it has been turned upside down! Just think of all the exercise you will get unpacking boxes and moving the furniture around till your new house is perfect!
Pizza! That monster visited my house on Sunday, sorry it came to yours next! Next week you will have a refrigerator full of good and healthy food...good thing you'll be able to find the box for the frig because it will be so big! LOL!
Take care!
Jennalynn 06-29-01, 07:57 PM Jamie you are doing awesome. 2 pounds away from 200!!! I hope the move is going well. You must be so excited about your new home and all the new and different things you'll be doing. I just wanted to say that I often read your journal, and you should be very proud of how well you are doing. Keep up the great work!! * :) :rose: hugs, -Jennalynn
1luckystar 07-02-01, 01:33 AM You must still be living in the land of moving boxes! Hope all is going well with your new home. Let us know how you are doing if you get a chance. We miss ya!
Jamie...I just dropped by to let you know that I, a continent away, am thinking about your move and keeping my fingers crossed that you are at least maintaining with all the hectic rush. I am sure we all hope that your computer survives the move! Take care.
1luckystar 07-08-01, 11:26 AM Here I am back from vacation and my Jamie is still gone! <IMG SRC="smilies/sigh.gif" border="0"> The move must be keeping you way busy. I hope you are also getting some much deserved rest too! Let us know how you are doing when you get a chance. We miss ya!

Boo hoo...Jamies is still not back, but I am adding to this to keep it near the top of the list so she won't have to look too far back when she gets back online.
Jamie...hope all is going well for you.
Hi Karen and Artsy, thanks both of you for thinking of me! I still don't have my home computer up and running...and I still can't find my scale! My clothes still fit so that is a good sign I think, but I have been eating TERRIBLY. BUT I have been getting a lot of exercise unpacking and painting and cleaning etc etc etc. UGH. I can't wait for it to be done.
Well I hope to find my scale in time for weigh in Thursday for better or worse. (My guess would be worse!) But I have no clue where it is!
Thanks again for thinking of me! I will be back soon to do some filling in!
J. :)
1luckystar 07-10-01, 05:56 PM I'm so happy to see you back! I want to hear all about your new home. Let me know if I can help get you back on track! I will have to write a cheer for you...at least it will make you laugh!
Jamie is a real winner,
Soon you won't recognize her because she will be so much thinner!
She is wonderful my oh my,
I love her even more than pie!
This one had me laughing out loud!!! Welcome back!
Hi Jamie...glad you made it to your destination. This time will pass and soon you will be back on track with your good buddies at Diettalk.
Hi Jamie,
A flower as a housewarming gift! I hope the move went smoothly. And that you still love your new house.
I know just how you feel with trying to find all kind of things.
Without the help of my BIL I would still have been unorganized but our main floor and upstairs is all done; just don't think about going to the basement. It is totally full with boxes in need of unpacking.
Where do we leave it all?!
Good luck Jamie with getting back on track and with finding your scale etc. :rose:
Noenoe
Karen your little cheer was GREAT! I was laughing out loud at work and people thought I was a looney. They aren't far off!
Artsy and Noenoe...thanks for the words of encouragement. I keep telling myself this too shall pass...my move was not quite uneventful...in fact it was CHAOS, no thanks to the previous home owner. But now we are in and about 75% unpacked, but I still can't find the scale. I think it is hiding because it is afraid to see what I have gained these past several weeks!
I have become a morning coffee and donut or danish JUNKIE...I have been out of control with the ice cream...other than that my portions have been okay...just eating a lot of fried fattening calorie laden foods. Now that the kitchen is getting into shape though I am able to start cooking again and not eating out so much...hopefully that will help.
Well thanks again everyone, I will check in soon!
J. :)
1luckystar 07-15-01, 01:29 AM I have come to visit and give your journal a good swift kick to the top. Don't disappear on us. We are in this together! I will be sending you a message bright and early in the morning so that we can get caught up and get you back on track. Talk at ya soon!
1luckystar 07-15-01, 11:33 PM Sent you a message this morning. You probably won't get it till the morning since your home computer isn't up and running yet. Any luck finding the cables? Hope you are having a fab time with your sister.
Take Care,
Karen
Hi Jamie...how are you doing? I enjoy reading your journal and I hope you get back into an even pattern so you can post again. Doesn't that sound selfish on my part? Have a good week.
