:rose: Hi everyone!
I'm new to this site and I'd like to write a few lines to introduce myself. I'm a 48yr old homemaker with 2 grown children and 3 grandchildren. I need to lose 100+lbs, and after checking in to this site for the past week, I feel that I have finally found the support and encouragement that I need to help me reach my goal! ;)
I have binged eaten my way to gaining all this weight that has shot my self-esteem all to heck! My health is beginning to suffer from all the excess weight, so I know that if I want to see my grandkids grow up, I must get serious and get this body of mine back in shape! 8-}
I never had problem lOsing weight before, but now I find that I need help staying focused.
I've sat in on a few chats, and I just want to thank you all for making me feel welcome. I look forward to getting to know all of you. :x

Cinnamon,
Welcome. You have joined a group of people who understand the difficulties you are facing because we are all facing them too.
Looking around the board will give all kinds of helpful ideas. Good luck.

:rose: Hi sooz, karolync1, and Baylee!
Thanks so much for answering my request for help staying focused. I already feel that I have found the help I need to stay on track. I'm so glad that I found this site! It helps being "surrounded" by people who are determined to make their life better!
I haven't decided what course of action to take yet, but I've started drinking my 8-10 glasses of water a day and have cut down considerably! What are you gals following? I'm just not sure where to start! Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated!! :)
I have started walking, but after not being too physical for awhile, I am starting slowly. What other activity do you feel I should do?
Baylee, I'm going to take your advice and set smaller, short term goals so as to not feel so overwhelmed!!!!!!!!
Well, I'm going to go back out and take another walk.
See you all in the chat rooms, I hope!
:x

Starting slowly is a great idea! You dont want to get burned out or injured..walking is the best as far as I am concerned but it IS also good to do at least one other aerobic activity during the week..exercise tapes are a good alternative if you dont have something like a stationary bike...Richard Simmons is a good one for beginners, it's what I started with when i was 320..i could only do 5 min at first but i kept building up!! My favorite Richard tape is the original Sweatin to the Oldies..
I try to eat low fat, watch portions...I eat 3 meals a day plus 2 snacks, about 1400 calories a day..you can see exactly what I do in the Journal forum...enjoy your walk!! :)

HI BAYLEE!
CUTTING DOWN ON REFINED SUGARS, EATING MORE FRUIT, ETC., IS HOW I'M STARTING OFF, TOO. I PICKED UP A WW MAGAZINE TO CHECK OUT SOME RECIPES CUZ I WANT TO HAVE SOME ON HAND. ANYTHING THAT YOU FOUND HELPED YOU OUT ON YOUR JOURNEY WOULD BE GREATLY APPRECIATED! :)
I LIKE THE IDEA WITH THE OLIVE OIL AND GARLC, I CERTAINLY WILL DO THAT, TOO!
HAVE YOU BEEN DIETING FOR AWHILE? I LIKE THE IDEA OF A SUPPORT GROUP, CUZ ONLY WE KNOW WHAT IS REQUIRED TO SUCCEED! *
I'VE STARTED EXCERCISING SLOWLY, BUT I DO AGREE THAT CHANGING THE EXCERCISE BY DAY SOUNDS LIKE IT WOULD ALEVIATE THE CHANCE OF GETTING BORED WITH DOING THE SAME THING EVERYDAY--THANKS FOR THE ADVICE! I DO HAVE A TREADMILL---YA THINK MAYBE I SHOULD TAKE THE CLOTHES THAT ARE HANGING ON IT OFF????? ;)
SEEING MY CLOTHES AREN'T LOSING ANY WEIGHT JUST HANGING THERE, MAYBE I'LL JUST GIVE IT A TRY!!!
WELL BAYLEE, OFF TO MEET MY HUBBY! HAVE A GREAT DAY!! :x
