Now that I have learned my way around the site and have met several people here, I think it is time to start posting my daily ramblings in hopes that it will keep me focused on these last nagging pounds!! Also, if these words can bring hope or success to even one other person, it would be worth it to me!!

In short, I started on my quest 4 years ago after a lifelong struggle with obesity. I averaged 265-285 or so for the better part of my post high school years. I was an over weight child too...the ridicule and emotional beatings I lived through took a toll and carried over to adulthood. Yeah, yeah, I was a pitiful mess I suppose on the inside but always tried to be happy-go-lucky and the jolly one on the outside. June of 1997, all the years had finally gotten the best of me and I was in a severe depression..never left the house much didn't make any new friends in my new neighborhood...it was make a change, or have someone put me in the ground...SOOOOO, I got down to business and started my lowfat lifestyle...I lost 125 pounds in 14 months and reached a goal weight of 160 on a 5'8" frame. I have maintained the loss since then for the exception of 25 pounds I have gained in the past year due to a lax of good sense while we run with our Goldwing group and let me tell you...they EAT EAT EAT!!!
I toyed with Atkins for 3 months thinking it might fit into my traveling life a little better since it was a little less complicated to order foods out...followed it to the letter...in ketosis, started with under 20 carbs and moved to about 35-40, drank my water, went off caffeine and aspartame, diet sodas, never cheated, yadda yadda. Only lost maybe 4 pounds total. Very frustrating to me!! Most of the foods were high sodium foods too and I am definitely a salt-a-holic anyway, so I figure I carried about 3 pounds of water all the time that I didn't need.
Needless to say I stopped that on 5/19 with a fantastic meal at my favorite Japanese hibachi restaurant. Recommitted on 5/20 at a weight of 185-186 to my historically successful lowfat lifestyle. Only difference, I am taking some of the ideas from SugarBusters and incorporating it into my lowfat...like whole wheat pastas, brown rice and whole wheat breads. These items have a lower glycemic index which doesn't cause a long-term insulin peak like regular pasta, rice and such. I just stay away from potatoes, corn and carrots and only have them on an infrequent basis.
Enuff of the boring history on me....OH...I am allergic to exercise too!!  but I am working on that.

Today I went to the store after working nights...stocked back up! Found some neat things and am gonna try some new recipes too and resurrect some old ones.

1470 calories

I feel back in control and I can feel my metabolism beginning to kick back in pretty strong. Finished 2 12hr nights at work so today was a lazy one for me and I napped a lot trying to also have some productivity to the day. Succeeded in cleaning the house a bit and updating my Goldwing group's web site. Cant say I did much, but managed to do some things to stay POSITIVE!!
Bad thing is...I am headed down the TOM time pretty quick so the bloat is gonna hit in a day or so as well as the carb cravings, grumpiness and all that goes with it....YUK!! :c(

Much success,
Angl :rose:

Thanks Debi!!!

Today has started out good. Since I am a nightshift worker, my sleep cycle is a little odd. Slept from 5am-12:30pm today and woke to a beautiful Carolina blue sky!! J was just ready to go down for his sleep (a little late though for him since he also works nights) so I fixed us some lunch. Before I ate I stepped on the scales...180!! a little hard for me to believe, but I figure it was the 8 hrs of sleep without drinking or eating...I usually weight at 10:30ish pm which is mid-morning for me. So I would say it is a safe 182 to record. That is 3 pounds down now!! TOM may not cause the scale to scream so loud this time, but that post-TOM flush just might take me below 180!!!
The plan for the day is to go to our Goldwing meeting at the Longbranch and have either grilled fish or chicken, veggies ordered without butter, salad with ff dressing and iced tea. I just love our meetings!! My newsletter won for our chapter this month, so they will be announcing that tonight :)

1pm:
1 whole small onion pita split, with 1 1/2 slices ff turkey, 1/2 slice ff cheese, lettuce, tomato and ff mayo on each.

Be back later to edit in the rest of my day...

Congrats on the 3lb loss, and wish you much success! :rose:
Reading your food intake for the day is inspiring, I'm trying to cut back on my fat intake and it's hard to re-negotiate what's healthy. I've got a lot to learn. So, this is a great place to get ideas..thanks~! :x

Angl, Congrats on your newsletter winning the prize!! very kewl!! woo woo!!! AND on losing!! sounds like an EXCELLENT day!! * *

Thanks Ambrosia!

Sooz...yeah, it was kinda neat to have it announced in front of all our members...a room full of about 70ish or so. It goes on to the regional level now for judging which is pretty tough...there are 5 states in our region and there are 44 chapters just in NC...so multiply that by 5 and that is how many we are up against...but that's ok...the chapter is beyond thrilled for the win...its their first ever...now, if we can get web site judging going on, then we'll work on that award as well. (the address is on my personal page if anyone is interested...there's a pic of our bike on there too under website information ;) )

ANYway...I had my nightly 10:30pm weigh-in...guess what?!?!? It said 180 again!! WAHOO. I figured after the huge dinner I had at 7, it would at least be up to 183 or more!! So yes, I have had a pretty cool day.

After the pita sandwiches today....
for a mid afternoon snack...4.4 oz fat free yogurt

7pm
8oz of grilled salmon
1c steamed broccoli
1/2c some type of rice medley
garden salad with fat free Italian dressing

around midnight I will have
2c Special K
1c fat free milk

MAYBE a 4.4 yogurt sometime?? dunno

Well, today has started out purty good so far. I managed to sleep until 12:30pm, but havent had a nap. I will probably regret that by about 3am in the morning when my head hits the desk at work!!
Our new velour seat came for our Goldwing today so we put it on....looks great! I wanna RIIIIIIIIIIDE today....I hate working weekends...was a weak moment when we didnt have enough help for this weekend so we are missing a great rally !! :c(
I have a pineapple growing on my plant...it is about the size of your fist now with a red top and purple blooms.

ANYway....so far today I have had:
2 breakfast burritos with 3 egg whites, diced green pepper and onions, 2 tbsp lowfat shredded cheese, 2 tbsp salsa and 2 tbsp ff sour cream.

I think for dinner, J is gonna make us grilled salmon, cauliflower and a tossed salad.

For work tonight (12hrs), I would imagine a sandwich made with whole wheat bread, fat free turkey, ff sharp cheddar slice, lettuce and mustard.
1oz ff pretzels
sf jello cup
4.4oz ff yogurt

After going into fitday, I had under 1050 calories...SOOOOOOOOO, I am gonna add to tonights work menu 2 cups of Special K and 1 cup skim milk.

Well, the day ended on a pretty good note...I was able to leave work and be "on call" tonight!!! Yay!! BUT, now one of those nasty NC storms is rolling in and they are sometimes pretty rough...my poooooooor plants!!! :c(

I am pretty proud of myself right now...havent given in to temptations...have kept up my fitday food journals and have been "on track" now for a week, and I can happily say I am a BIG FAT LUUUUUUSER too!! 5 pounds this week...seems pretty high, but I have been plateaued for a while while I have tweaked and tinkered with my food plans over the past month or so, so I was due for a loss! Havent craved anything!! I do think we are gonna go have our infamous Japanese free-for-all some day this week, but that's ok...those little skinny guys who cook have finally gotten the hint that when I ask for NO/LOW oils and butter, they better do it, or risk recooking my WHOLE meal!! ;)

Today has been one of those wasted sleeping days for work tonight...
PMS is kicking in pretty good now, but the scale is only hovering about a pound or 2 up as opposed to it's normal 6...so that helps a lot!!
It rained all day here until about 4, so J was stuck inside climbing the walls and unable to mow or anything like that...but he did help me fix lunch and dinner and had grilled me chicken for my work foods! He's so good in the kitchen!! ;)

Here's my daily yum yums...
Bfst:
2c Special K with 1 cup skim milk

Lunch:
Onion pita pizza with sauce, green peppers, mushrooms, 2 oz grilled chicken, reduced fat feta and shredded cheese.

Dinner:
Same as lunch...they are just WAY too good!! Actually I planned on 2 for dinner before work but I was pretty hungry around 1pm so we made one then :D

For work:
Jim grilled me 7oz of chicken breast and made a cup of broccoli and 1/2 cup cauliflower.
cup of yogurt
cup of sf jello

These first days off after 12hr nights are pretty much a waste!! I slept entirely TOOOOOOO late today and havent gotten one thing accomplished BUT dinner ;)

TOM is imenent now, I can feel the pain beginning...I just hope this month is as easy as it was while I was low carb...even though I have only raised carbs to 120-200, that is still considered low...but I wonder if it is low enough for my body. I am still off caffeine to see if the pain was related to the carbs or caffeine. Whichever the culprit, it is forever out of my life!!!

We are getting ready to go for a ride on the Goldwing...(for those of you interested, a picture of our bike is located on one of my homepages.

Bfst:
2c Special K
1c skim milk

Lunch (2nd meal of the day even though it was 4:30)
4 oz yellowfin tuna steak grilled on the George Forman
2c cooked yellow and zuke squash with 1/4c white onions
1c brown rice prepared with a little taco seasoning
::::stuffed now!!

Will be back later to update...off I go on the bike for a while :)
I hope everyone here is having a GREAT day!!

Thanks Bell!!

I am just so thrilled that the PMS bloat only gave me 1 pound instead of the usual 5 or 6!! That just might mean I will break into the 170s sometime early in the week!!
We went for our motorcycle ride today in great weather...we crossed a RR track that must have had a big hole between the rail and tie or something...we bottomed it out pretty hard and me being relaxed, my head bounced so hard that it gave me a terrible headache at the base of my head and my forehead on the left...EEK!! Worried me a little, but being a neuro nurse, I just took some Tylenol and chilled for a couple of hours...thinking was a little fuzzy, and my mood really stunk, but now, the headache has eased off and I am feeling better...you'd think the state road crews would require these RR companies to make their crossings a little more safe for small vehicles and motorcycles!!!!!!!!

ANYway...since my yummy dinner of tuna, rice and squash, I had one of my favorite pita pizzas with Jenni-o turkey keilbasa, sauce, tomatoes, green peppers, mushrooms and a little extra lite cheese (I was kinda short on my cals for the day).

I plan on having a bowl of Special K before bedtime with some skim milk.

I still have a headache today from the little bike mishap yesterday, but I can just thank God that we didnt go down!!!
It's a dreary day here in the heart of NC...rainy and cool so far.
I am still 180!! I wish I could go back and figure out how I eluded the PMS weight gain!! PLUS, this is the 3rd month with no caffeine and carbs under 200gm. Having PCOS, I may never know if it was the lowering of carbs (which relieves the symptoms) or if it was the elimination of caffeine that caused the cramps to be manageble now.
Bfst was a 3 egg-white sandwich with Canadian bacon, ff sharp cheddar and ff mayo on whole wheat lite bread.

Dinner is gonna be 2 oz whole wheat linguini with low fat alfredo sauce and 4 oz grilled chicken strips and a big salad with ff 1000 Island dressing.

Have no idea for lunch since J is sleeping and I am not all that hungry. I'll need to fill in the gaps though because so far my totals are:

fat gms 20
carbs 76

I just sent J off to work. My headache is a lot better this evening so I am anticipating it to be gone by tomorrow before I go into work.

After the linguini with Alfredo for dinner...I haven't been hungry. I did manage to get in a mini-snack of 16 mini twist pretzels. I plan on having a 4.4oz yogurt in a while...then a 2c bowl of Special K with 1c skim milk before bedtime.

This will be short and sweet...I am running short on time before work tonight. Waiting on me when I came home this morning was a special card from my honey....he is so good to me!! I dont know what I would do without him!!! Came home this morning and planted several plant starts a dear friend gave to me...let's hope they grow as well for me as they did for her. I finally got into bed about 11am, so I am already draggin butt!!

Angl, looks great! You've given me more enoucragement now. I recommitted myself the end of last week and have been doing pretty well with the eating, still need work on the exercising.

btw how do you make those pita pizzas, they sound delicious! Is just pita bread and you stuff it with what ever you want? Or are they premade/prepackaged of some sort?

Keep up the good work.

Angluvmrcy

Thanks for the visit Debbi!! I am glad someone can get encouragement out of my endevours!!
As for the pita pizzas...if you are lucky, you can find whole wheat fat free pitas...I like the onion varieties. Spray both sides lightly with Pam spray. You can top the whole thing with 2 tbsp of jarred pizza sauce (look at the label) then cut up whatever veggies you want to add on it....I add fat free keilbasa or grilled chicken...on occasion, I add turkey pepperoni (95% fat free) then put it in the oven until done. Then top with fat free or reduced shredded cheese (about 1/4c will do)...return to broil a couple minutes.

I am at work and just had to pop on and send you a reply for that recipe. Enjoy!!

Came home and fixed breakfast...

Well, I'm BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAACK!! We returned home late Sunday afternoon from our rally. Had a great time for the exception of the rain!! I was able to remain 100% on program while I was gone.
For our room, we stocked in Special K, skim milk, some ff turkey slices, ff cheese slices, mustard, ff pitas, pretzels, wow chips, white grapes, sf jello and some Blue Bunny ff yogurt.
For breakfasts we had cereal and lunches were pita sandwiches and WOW chips or pretzels. For snacks we had pretzels WOW chips, sf jello or yogurt.
Dinner thursday on the road around 8pm: 6" grilled chicken sub from Subway and a small bag WOW chips. They claim 6gm fat and 311 cals per 6" sub. 2am after we arrived and went shopping at Walmart, I had the other 6" half of my grilled chicken sub.
Dinner Friday: we went to Damon's and had 8oz grilled tuna on a bed of rice pilaf. Lg salad with ff honey mustard dressing.
Late Friday after opening ceremonies, they threw an ice cream social. I trotted my butt up to the room and grabbed a ff yogurt (Black Forest chocolate/cherry) and enjoyed it with the group.
Saturday dinner: Went to a seafood house and had broiled shrimp, scallops and flounder on a bed of rice pilaf and a lg salad with what they "claim" 8-| to be ff ranch. Didnt eat the hushpuppies. Only thing I forgot to do was order my meal without butter  but it didnt look like they used a whole lot.
Sunday lunch on the road: Another seafood house in Mt Airy, NC. Had broiled seafood, rice and salad with ff 1000 Island.
Dinner Sunday around 9ish before J went to work was whole wheat spaghetti and lite Hunts sauce with a bit of Morning Star Farms ff veggie crumbles.

I couldnt get to fitday while I was gone, but I did keep a written list of each day. I was able to enter most into it on Monday, and I believe my cals were in check all but one day around 1800 or so.

To be continued....

The funniest thing JUST happened to me!! I am at work right now...it is 1:45am and it's almost dinner time. I usually weigh at work around this time just as a "tracking" weight but I never really record it as official because the scales here at work are always about a pound heavy. Well....tonight, they read 177.75!!!! I got off of them and went back to the ICU and thought a minute...probably was a fluke. So...heh heh...I went back and did it again!! 177.75!!! That means my scales at home would be reading 176.75!!!! I must have lost some while I was away this weekend and the salt consumption covered it up!!!(I have been in the bathroom a lot tonight!) I won't claim the loss yet...I always claim the weight from home after sleeping and before my first meal (around 4:30pm when I work) so we will see...I hadda laff at myself though, trotting back down the hall to weigh a second time tonight!!

Hiya Bell!! Thanks for the visit...gotta get over to your world and see how your're doin!! (Great I am sure!)

Wow Angl! I popped into say hi and thanks for posting me, and then I sat here and read the whole journal. You are going to get there . You have a great journal. Great food, great attitude and you are filling each day with the best it can be. Just as a side note about what you wrote me, I got stepped on for intruding at another weight board, and I felt funny for a long time. Thats why I back off now. Its hard to leave where you are well known and come to a new board with new faces. I think everyone here truly cares about each other . There are so many boards though it is hard to keep up. Thanks again for caring.

Finally I have a chance to sit down!! Today was my first day off of 5 and I was so far behind on everything, I will be playing catch up all weekend I am afraid!! After work this morning I went to the grocery store and spent a good while...reading new labels and making a concious effort to avoid those high glycemic index foods (new to my regime). I slept until around 3 today then got up and made lunch. Was able to get our Goldwing web site up to date!! YAY!! Plus our newsletter is about done too (hoping for another win this month).
Tomorrow is another full day!! We are painting our barn, cleaning the house then have an engagement in the evening. This will be one of my infamous "permission" meals. We are going to my favorite Japanese hibachi restaurant then going bowling. For this one meal, I will not worry beyond the fat and butter they add. I will order chicken and shrimp with the traditional squash, white onions, rice and salad. After that one meal, my permission ends and life moves forward yet again. I will not become disappointed if I do not have a loss next Thursday knowing I will be doing this.

Today's menu...
bfst:
2c Special K
1.5c skim milk

lunch:
Morning Star Farms ground meatless mixed with taco seasoning and salsa in 2 small flour tortillas, 1/4c ff shredded cheese, 1 tbsp ff sour cream, shredded lettuce and diced tomatoes on each.
dinner:

Good Morning (from a nightshift person)!!! Today has started on a good note, the scales are down to 175!! I couldn't believe it!!
I feel a bit lazy today and we are just hanging out until our dinner/bowling party. Today is the day I give myself permission for a Japanese dinner out!! YUMMMMMMMMMMMMMY!! The rules: NO guilt, NO whimpering if the scales don't move next week, NO red meat (restaurants aren't known for their ability to buy lean meats) and NO dessert. All else is fair game since it is a Japanese habatchi restaurant!!
Since I slept through breakfast, I am at quite a deficit for calories and fat, so tonight might not hurt so bad after all but it was NOT inteded to turn out this way. Saving up calories for one meal isn't effective, you must spread calories out evenly throughout the day.

So far today I have had a whole wheat sandwich with ff turkey, ff cheese, toasted on the George Formam grill and 6oz fresh strawberries topped with Reddi-wip light.

Will add more later...

Hey Angl,
I was reading some of your journal and I see that you eat those bocca burgers, I got the at the store the other day, are they good??

Angluvmrcy
06-08-01, 04:53 PM
Hiya On My Way!! Thanks for stopping by!! The Boca Burgers are good IMO. I had been off beef for a few months before I had them. I started out with GardenBurger veggie burgers which are excellent (I just cant find them now) if you get the ones that are veggies and not like burger. I get the ff ones and thaw them a min in the microwave, then pop them in the toaster.
Boca has a GREAT onion variety...plus several other varieties with little or no fat. It might take you a couple brands to hit on what you like, but just remember, if you dont like one type, simply try another...the variety is out there. :)
Much success

What a wonderful meal last night. I had chicken and shrimp, zucchini, white onions, rice, few noodles and a salad with house ginger dressing!! Then we went bowling...123 and 152!

Since our pita sandwiches were the only things we had before dinner, my totals on fitday were not all that bad...Without being able to count the ginger dressing, and high estimations...

Today, it was right back on track...permission over. We went to a mini-rally for the day on the bike too...great weather and lots of friends to visit with. Tomorrow is another even with our group, so gotta watch it yet again...its a dinner party and they are supplying everything, I plan on eating a little before I go to make up for what I wont be eating there.

Breakfast:

Lunch
Grilled chicken from "The Cook Out" with a little BBQ sauce and pickles on a <cringe> white bun (best and only choice for me on the menu)

Snack...several WOW chips

On each:

1/4 roma tomato
1/8c diced green peppers
a few diced green onions

Thanks Karen!! With patience and endurance, you will get there...just remember, it is a lifestyle change not really a diet so-to-speak. Like today for example...if I were dieting, I would say I blew it...but I do not feel that way at all...this is how the day went....ya'll decide....

breakfast early...
1.5c Special K
3/4c skim milk

late morning...
another 1.5c Special K with 3/4 skim milk

late afernoon we went to a cookout/meeting...
2 ff ball park beef franks
2 white buns (I took lite wheat buns, but by the time I got my dogs cooked, they were gone!! X-( Oh well...
2 tbsp Texas pete hotdog chili (0 fat 10 cals/tbsp)
6 hamburger dills
about 1/2oz WOW chips
1/2 baked potato with ff butter spray
sm bowl fruit salad (fresh strawberries, blueberries and white grapes) with a little lite Reddi-whip (1 fat 15 cals/tbsp)

Then we took a ride in the evening...for dinner around 8ish...
6 scallops
4oz flounder
4 jumbo shrimp
all grilled in lemon water
1 med baked potato with ff butter spray (yeah, I had my own in the bike... )
salad with ff french dressing...
BUT, I did have a few small hushpuppies (the little ones they drizzle in the pan, not the big golf-ball sized ones)...probably 6-7 of those
I didnt think the day was bad..I used to eat this way to maintain my loss....but, I entered things into fitday...YIKES! It wont let me choose raw or grilled plain scallops so it charged me for some margerine I didnt have...

totals...
1990 cals
27gm fat
328gm carbs :(

Between this day and Friday night, I figure I will maintain my 175 but not have a loss on Thursday....I expect that (telling myself this over and over and over....its not working...)

We simply run too much and eat out a lot  ...tis ok though..that is what makes this a lifestyle...NOT a diet!! I can live with this life in the style it is...but I sure would like to lose that last 30 pounds sometime this year!

Saturday and Sunday's menues werent much better...
Saturday before our ride...ate at Bob Evans and of course they screwed up my meal
was supposed to have a garden omelet with Egg Beaters and no hollindaise sauce...WELL, when I got into it...there was cheese AND meat...with the garden veggies...who knows if they used Egg Beaters or not.
2 slices wheat toast dry

Dinner...I skipped the buffet at our meeting...big mistake, but there was only fried foods on it.

After the ride...we made soft tacos out of Morning Star Farms meatless crumbles with shredded fat free cheddar, lettuce, tomatoes, salsa and ff sour cream. We added taco seasoning to the veggie mix...YUMMY!! I had THREE  of those....yikes!

As far as I can see, according to fitday:
1260 cals
42gm fat
99gm carbs

Sunday...we went to a friend's house late in the afternoon to work on some web site designing for her husband's original artwork (BEAUTIFUL work!!)

Bkfst
slept through it...heh heh

Lunch
4oz grilled chicken breast
2c cauliflower made from frozen
1.5c salad with chopped green peppers and a little ff cheddar cheese and reduced fat feta
2tbsp ff 1000 Island drsg

Dinner
1/2 of a 13" pizza from Papa John's (4 slices) thin crust, veggies only...NO cheese. We went to the store and bought reduced fat cheese to add to it!!

After we left our friends, we went on a ride...J took us to TCBY...UH-OH....for something sweet....so much for low carb today...lolol....anyway, they had a really good lowfat raspberry cheesecake frozen yogurt....so that is what I had....who knows on the calorie count...but I let fitday figure it on lowfat milk yogurt non-chocolate...so it came up with a hefty amount :c(

Late
Same as the above  ...it was a buy one get one free and only J and I were eating this type of pizza so he took his left-overs to work with some added reduced fat cheese and I had mine without cheese around 3am. Of course by that time of the night, it was time to eat again according to my stomach...my sleep/work cycle is so bad, no wonder my body can't decide what to do!!!
estimated totals from fitday for Sunday:
2308 cals
62gm fat
330gm carb

Was a great socializing day...and going to TCBY has always brought J and I closer since we slow down and enjoy each other...but as far as the healthy benefits go....too much of a good....and u know the rest. :(

Today has been a downer for me...one of my "fat days" if you will. I felt really good before I skipped that one meal on Saturday which really must have thrown off my body and started some insulin variations or something...plus the pizza thing...plus the yogurt...no wonder I went from 173 on Saturday to 176 today. I wanted to be below 170 before our national rally over July 4th week, there is a pair of jeans I really wanted to get back into...doubt that happens now though. :(
At least I am back on track today...

Hi there to my faithful journal...looks like it has waited here for me to get a grip and get back here!!! I have had quite a hiatus from this forum...I guess I got burnt-out a little and then the computer was down for a while, work got to be nuts, and i am getting married 2WEEKS from tomorrow!! You'd think that I would have stayed on the wagon a little closer due to that fact, BUT meeting with friends for planning, running all over the country lining things up, yadda yadda, meant eating out WAY TOO MUCH!! As a result, I am back to my original 190 yet again...guess it is better than the OLD 285?!?!?!?! I am NOT going to be all that strict between here and the wedding/honeymoon..it just isnt gonna happen realistically speaking...like tonight, our friends who are catering want to meet at a Mexican restaraunt...now let me ask what in the world is on my low fat diet THERE besides a plain lettuce salad fit for a rabbit????? Plus, going to Vegas...ya think I am gonna watch it there??? I doubt it!! But I am watching the attitude again and getting in the mindset to crawl outta winter with an AWSOME figure, kinda like I USED to have (but better) after the first battle of the bulge!!
Menu for the day...
Herb & garlic bagle with spray butter...
Lots and lots of Crystal light
a couple pieces of low fat chicken slices on lite wheat toast.

Dinner?? Probably opt for the chicken burrito with no cheese or sour cream?? But gotta have the chips with my salsa!!

Hi Angl,

When you left, I was just starting. As new as a newbie can be. But I was in awe of you, about how many pounds you had lost.
And I'm positive that you can do it again...after the wedding.
So when exactly is the big day?
For now: Welcome Back! I think you've made a good choice.
Have a great day further. :rose:

noenoe....CONGRATS!!! You have obviously done VERY well according to your stats!! Do you have pics posted anywhere???

Our big day is November 3rd at noon! We are in a flurry to try and get everything done for it...there just hasnt been any time to watch every fat gram that I put into my mouth...BUT...since I ordered my dress, my weight has maintained so there is no problem there. :D
I know that weight maintenance for me will be a lifelong endevour, not something temporary! I feel like I can run a nice balance between eating the "forbidden" foods and rabbit food. The biggest obstacle I face is the nagging ED that I developed over 20 years of obesity. I STILL look in the mirror at 185# and see a 285 pounder!! I guess that will never go away.

Keep up the good work...I will make every attempt to get on here once every day or 2 to check up on everyone ;) then after our trip to Vegas, it's gonna be my "Winter of Willpower"!!!

Angluvmrcy

All these wedding plans are detrimental to my eating patterns!! We take someone out to eat all the time while we plan our event. Seems like we cant do ANYthing without somoene wanting to EAT!!

Oh yeah...if you ever do find a low fat food at a mexican restaurant please let me know what it is.

If only there WAS such a thing as a lowfat Mexican or Chinese restaraunt!! I can make lowfat Mexican or Chinese at home...but it just isnt the same!!

Today went better than the last SEVERAL days/weeks. I have been really careful about getting back into the swing of things. I canNOT let this weight come back. I told my fiance that if I EVER....EVER get up to the 250-290 range again he'd put me in the ground.
SOOOOOOOOOOOO....the scales decided to creep on up around 198 last night  and I just about went nuts...in fact, I cried myself to sleep over it. This morning, I got up and have had a different attitude. I can tell my body is used to the extra rich foods it has been given over the summer cuz the hunger pangs are hanging around and I KNOW I dont NEEDfood when they are there.
I had scramblers for brunch (we got up LATE) cooked with onions, peppers, tomatoes and garlic, a side of Simply Potatoes with onions and lite wheat toast.

Dinner was about 8oz of grilled tuna, 2 cups yellow squash and 1 1/2 servings of an Uncle Ben's rice medly (made without butter).

This evening was about 1/2 bag of 94% fat free popcorn.

I just had a black cherry sugar free jello snack...that took the edge off of the night time munchies!! This time of the night is always lunch time at work...my body just doesnt know what to do when I am off!!

according to www.fitday.com (http://www.fitday.com) I have had a total of 1986 calories today...I gave into the bagel craving around 3am! Night shift work will be the end of me :(

Hi Angl, Did you say you work nights? thats a tuff schedual, I did if for years... we had meetings to about it, and one time they talked about diet and how are bodies dont digest food well at night, and how its not uncommon for us to gain 20-30 pounds not exactly what you want to hear... I mean if your up all night, you need to eat right!!!!
Well I will be looking forward to seeing your pics too!!!

It has been quite an uneventful night...I went down the hall to the scales and they said 190 with my clothes ON!! :D I wont call that official until my own scales say that...but they are usually both the same.

Thanks ya'll again for the visits!!
Kathleen...I answered you in YOUR journal tonight...hadda get a read in there ya know :)

Been on program now since Sunday!! It is odd, but while I am off the wagon and not watching my fat intake, I must carry at LEAST 6-8 pounds of water cuz there isnt any way I have lost 8 pounds of fat in 3 1/2 days!!!

Today looks good too! Water or not, I would take 8 lbs!!

Sorry to hear there was conflict re: where the wedding is taking place--some people just don't realize how much of life they are throwing away!!

Keep up the GOOD WORK!!

WOW...all the pretty new changes since I have been gone!! I just LOVE the Christmas touch!!

Well, I am a married woman now (yet again). We had a WONDERFUL wedding...a perfect day in all respects!! We had about 140 people with us in a Western setting...hay bales, saddle, bridles and all...the horses were Goldwings!! I have posted a couple pictures here...I hope they show up ok and are not too big to load!

We did NOT watch our diets since November 3rd!!! We didnt eat much at the wedding, but started with a morning after breakfast for our family and close friends at Golden Corral...it was over from that point on!! We had awsome dinners in Las Vegas...didnt win much money but had a great time. We had the opportunity to be escorted back stage at the Righteous Brothers concert for a picture and autograph...that made the whole trip!! Played a bunch of blackjack and did a lot of sight seeing. Now for the kicker...I am going back and taking my Matron of Honor in February for a slots tournament.

NOW it is time to get back ON the wagon and prepare for the next trip cuz I know going to Vegas nixes any and all sense I have in the food department!!
http://www.gwrrancn.org/oval1.jpg
http://www.gwrrancn.org/party.jpg

It has been SOOOOOOO very tough getting back on the wagon since the wedding...BUT, we havent eaten out in a week....so I think that is a good start?!?!?

Yesterday, I had a bagel sandwich with turkey, lettuce and ff cheese for bfst...slept through lunch for work...had a phone call around 2 which woke me completely up...had a few pretzels and a couple pieces of toast (the PMS carb cravings have hit!! YIKES)

Dinner was grilled chicken, corn and lima beans courtesy of my sweetie of a husband!

Last night was a killer night at work...only had time to scarf down a cut up grilled chicken breast and down several cups of water and 2 cups of roasted chestnut coffee...complete with cream

Today is yet....ANOTHER DAY

Big cheesy grins today....I am journaling my food on www.fiday.com again!!! Its been SO very hard to get back into the swing of things since the wedding....and of all things, today TOM decided to pay me a visit...(ontime for the first time in forever...guess it is the lack of stress in my life at the present time)...so I am carbo craving BIGTIME!!
I had a bowl of frosted shredded wheat and skim milk for bfst after work.
Went to bed
Had a bowel of Special K with skim milk around 3pm (I just love cereal during these craves)
Hazelnut coffee with ff creamer and splenda
snack cappuccino yogurt...YUM
1/2 bagel around 6pm.

Dinner is sorta complicated...I had made chili a couple days ago....93% lean beef (1lb) to 1 1/2 gal of chili....tomatoes, sauce, beans, beans, beans, onions, seasoning and a jar of mild banana peppers.

Tonight I mixed about 1/2 gallon and water enough to cook a package of No Yolks...made a GREAT noodle cassarole!! I guessed to the nutritional contents on fitday....but as close as I can tell...
according to www.fitday.com
1688 calories
15 gm fat
(give or take a few)
I'd say that isnt bad after the jump I made off the wagon over the past 3 weeks!!!
