I really want to loose weight but I don't have a clue where to start. I'm at 250 and I would love to be at 180 again. At that weight I was in like a size 36 jeans and I loved it. I don't know what caused me to put on all this weight and I don't know how it got so out of control.
I know that I have to eat right but my problem is that I don't know what to cook at night. The other problem is that I don't like a lot of veggies. I really like carrots and corn. My bf doesn't help with the meals either. We are bad for trying to make a decision. So most of the time we end up going out to a restaurant or to McD's....
I'm just so fed up with all of this...I don't know where to start. CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME!!!!! :c( :c( :c(

Ok, take a deep breath and lets get started. ;) First off, you need to decide what type of a plan you want to go on....low calories, low/no carbs, etc.

I'm not a big fan of veggies either, so I try and make them in a dish or look for new ways to cook them. Gotta liven those things up or I won't eat 'em!!

Your first step--cut out the McD's! I used to frequent there and that's the biggest reason I put on so much weight! Cutting that out will make a big change from the beginning! As for eating out--that's not always bad, you just have to be careful with what you choose--make it work in your plan.

And you're drinking your water aren't you? That's the most important! Have you heard the equation for how much you should have? Take your weight and divide it in half. That's how many oz you need.

What do you do for exercise? If you don't then now's a great time to start. Take a walk, go for a jog, buy an aerobics video.

You can send me a PM if you want & I'll answer any question I can! Hang in there--you can do this! :x

It is very hard to know where to start - how about just take some baby steps and make a few small changes such as adding in a walk or 2 a day - drinking lots of water and by lots I mean at least 8 glasses. Check out the post on Water - I added in some water sites there - you said you are not a big fan of veggies - how about adding more fruit. Just the way you cook items can make a big difference too - try to broil, steam, even microwave. A George Forefore ""Type"" Grill is a great way to cook meat and its fast without the added fat. Hope some of these suggestions help.

Hi Trish--HMS gives some good advice for starting. It is not easy getting started. I agree, water is one of the most important things you can do for yourself while trying to lose weight. I walk in the morning and this helps with my motivation! Exercise is also very important. Also, starting journal is always good. Good luck on your new start!! YOU CAN Do this!!

Sorry it has been a while since I've been on here but I still don't know how I'm going to do this. It is all so over whelming. I know this is going to sound crazy but over the last little while...I would say a week or two I have been eating McD's and I seem to have lost about 8 lbs or so. And I have stopped eating there and I am starting to gain again. I'm going to chalk it up to nothing more than coincidence.
As for choosing a program...I don't know what I'm going to choose. I get home from work at about 10pm and I'm just not in the mood to cook so there fore we go to McD's. And when I have a day off I try and make a decision with my bf and he is no better than I. We will sit around for a couple of hours and try to figure out what we are going to eat. So eventually we just go to a resturant and get something there. He is a vegitarian...the kind that eats chicken and fish.....I don't know the name of that one. So I always have to keep that in mind. I tried the three day diet thing and as soon as I started that I wanted to cheat! It was so frustrating. I just don't know where to start. I know I wouldn't have the patience to count calories and to measure and weigh my food. Like I said before I don't know where to start.

It feels like this weight is never going to come off and I'm going to be stuck looking like this forever!! PLEASE I need some serious help.

Trish,

If you're getting off work late and don't want to cook, then try eating out, but do it healthy. Subway has some great sandwiches that are low in fat & calories--and they would also work well into your boyfriend's preferences.

This will not happen by coming up with excuses--if you want it, then you have to make it happen. Plan your meals a week at a time, tell your boyfriend this is important to you and maybe he'll help you, or buy Weight Watchers box dinners. There are ways to work around your schedule, but you have to be willing to come up with solutions.

You've decided you're not happy where you are, and now you've taken the first step by posting here. Now you need to make up your mind to get it done! I believe you can do it!

Best Wishes!
