Never had a journal before but I thought it would be a wonderfull idea to keep track of my daily activities. In the month of Januray I lost 20 pounds yippppppeeeeeeeeeee. January has to have been my best month in a very long time. I am so proud of myself for finally doing something for me. I know the rest of the pounds I want to lose won't come off so easily but I am determined to see them go. Might even have a farewell party for them ....lol.
So today is Feb 1,2002.
I always get up around 6 am as this is my time of the day. Fix a coffee come on the computer and shortly I am going for a walk, jog, run. I love this time of day the most as it's so peaceful and quiet. One other thing I do everymorning is listen to a song by Brian McKnight ........it's called WIN and it's my motivation. If you ever get a chance to hear it I'm sure you'll agree it's an inpirational song. Have a great day and I tell you all about mine tommorrow.:)

How did you lose 20 lbs in a month!!! That's a lot ...and it took me a few months to lose it...I'm impressed. What have you been doing? BTW, good job!

First of all China Doll I did what they called a 3 day diet. And I lost 10 pounds in those first 3 days. This really got me motivated so I started looking at different ways to cook the food I ate and just how I was going to change my life style. I started exercising by going for a walk and increasing the length of it each day. Now I walk jog run. I know I loss alot in a month and I don't expect to do the same this month. I do however expect to lose a bit at a time and NOT GAIN any of this back. And this is really up to me. I can choose to be healthy or I can choose to be unhealthy. I am choosing the healthy way. Which means I can only depend on myself to do the right things for my body. But the best thing about my decision to be healthy...........my body loves it.....:)

I know what you mean ... eating and leading a healthy lifestyle. I'm trying to do that too but still got to work on that exercise part. Good luck!

I'm up bright and early this morning. It's the best time of the day.Everyone else is sound asleep and I have the first few hours of the morning all to myself. Yesterday was a very busy day. There was so much to do and like always so little time. But I did manage to get a walk in even though the conditions were not good to say the least. We had a snowstorm and icestorm the night before. then I had to take a friend to the hospital for tests. Thank god she is alright and no further testing needs to be done. Then ran out to get groceries.....this by the way is my least favorite thing to do. Love to eat hate to shop....go figure that one!!
Came home and painted till supper then ran my daughter out to soccer practice. Four hours later we were back home again and a paint brush in my hand. Come midnight I couldn't see anymore so it was time to crawl into bed. And now I'm back up at 6am. Time for a walk soon as we have to drive our daughter to Markham today which is a 2 hour drive for a soccer game. Oh by the way I am always at soccer since my daughter plays for a top team here. In fact they are going to be in the prestige Ontario League this year as they have won everything for the last 2 and a half years. And yeap I will talk about her alot as I am SOOOOOOOOOOOO PROUD.

FEB 1,2002

slice of kraft light cheddar cheese
one teaspoon mayo

Whew what a day we had yesterday. Had to take my daughter to Markham to play a game of soccer. Long drive 6hours round trip. Good news is they won the game. Yeaaaaaaaaah. Still the only undefeated team in the South Region of Ontario. Bad news is she scraped her knee pretty bad on the turf there. Turf burns hurt so much. Good thing she is a trouper and takes these things in stride. We stopped to eat at Wendy's as we had been gone since early morning and it was now 4 in the afternoon. I actually dreaded going in becasue I was starving which is not a good sign for me. However I even surprised myself and only order a jr. cheeseburger and a coffee. Wow now that's an improvement for me as I could easily have eaten anyone of their combo's before and still want dessert. It was 7pm when we rolled back into our driveway. Hubby wanted to go and pick out wall paper borders for the kitchen after we got back changed his mind thou when he saw the look I gave about going back out anywhere....lol
Spent the rest of the nite relaxing and watching tv.

Breakfast............. 1 poached egg on brown toast
............................. coffee
Lunch.................... 1 jr. cheeseburger
..............................coffee
Supper.................. spaghetti (leftovers from last nite)
.............................. salad with low fat Italian dressing
..............................coffee
Snack.....................Fat Free Jello with a banana

Congrats on your wise decision of food choice at Wendy's. That was really strong of you to resist ordering what you really want to eat. Stay determine as you're going to face more challenges!

I can't believe I slept in this morning. But it felt so good. It's almost 8am and I am usually up by 6am. Yesterday I really didn't do to much. Went for my walk and came back home and fixed my hubby some breakfast in bed. Basically laid around watching TV till it was time for me to go to work. I don't like working Sundays but since I have been doing it for 12 years maybe I should start to get use to them......lol We were extremely busy and so lots of physical labour . Got a good work out at work so I can't complain about not getting enough exercise today.
Breakfast..........omelette........made with 2 egg whites, green onions, tomatoes and a slice of no fat cheddar cheese.
2 pieces of toast ........hollywood diet brown bread.
Lunch...........sugar free jello
.....................2 cheddar cheese rice cakes
Supper..........Chicken breast(skinless)

Congrats with the 20 lbs. you :super:woman! That is some accomplishment.

C O N G R A T U L A T I O N S ! !

with the 2 lbs lost. Way to go! Or as they say here: Weigh to go!:)

I'm impressed that you wrote the poems yourself. I read about 3 of them. I will go back soon and read some more.

I live in London,Ontario.........so we are a bit a part but not that far. Will be travelling that way closer in the summer as my daughter will be playing in the Ontario Soccer League. Right now as far as we travel for games is Markham. It takes a lot of our time but it certainly is worth the effort and time we put into this team as they give back ten fold whatever we put into them. They are a great bunch of kids.
I am so happy to be down again in weight again this week.I know I won't lose as fast or as much as I did in January but as long as the pounds come off and stay off I don't care how long it takes me.:bfly:

Thank GAWD yesterday is over. It was a great day till I went into work and someone decides to change the whole truck routing system we have. Which means our department has to change the way we do everything. And they couldn't do it in a couple of days to make the transition smoother........noooooooooooo they had to have it done last night. I guess it wouldn't be so bad if they just handed us the changes and left but nope they think they need to help with the changes and therein lies the problem. You take someone who has never done your job and they try to setup somethingto make a change and BINGO it don't work.......go figure!!!!!!!!!!! Anyways finally got her outta our department and back upstairs behind her little desk and we got it done......without a hitch I might add. And yeap the MAIL will get delivered tommorrow :) Sorry for venting but sometimes just sometimes ya gotta do it...

Breakfast.............2 slices Holloywood Diet Taost and 2 tsp.

Lunch....................8 crackers and 2 slices no fat cheese

Maybe I should have waited till I got back from my walk this morning to write in my journal. I am in a much better frame of mind and even thou it's minus 20 with the wind chill I feel FANTASTIC from being outside and getting fresh air and exercise. HAVE A GREAT DAY...........:rose:

Tks for stopping by my journal. I hate it too when someone comes in and tries to mess up the work procedures ... if mgmt decides to change the work procedures, they should give ample notice and phase the changes in too. My last company was the same, we keep changing our organisation structure and that's several times a year (with immediate effect each time mgmt announced the change). It was frustrating dealing with the change.

Your dinner sounds yummy! I've never tried Beets so I can't comment on that but I love eating steak and salad!

Hope you have a better day tomorrow. :rose:

Feb.6,2002

Up at 6am again today and spent a wonderful relaxing hour on the computer before going for my walk. It was still cold out but not as cold as yesterday. I was out for a hour and 30 minutes this morning. Feels so great when I finish. Then I had to go to the store and get some groceries. While I was there I stopped in a used book store and found some work out tapes by Kathy Smith. Came home and popped one in the VCR. I thought I was getting into shape until I tried to keep up with it. I can't believe what a workout I had doing her program. This one is a 12 week program so we will see if I can make it through all of it without collasping first........lol. I did feel muscles thou that I never knew I had before. Off to work for the afternoon shift (it's kinda a drag working afternoons) as I don't get to see my family really until the weekends. But in this day and age it takes two working to run a household. It's a good thing I like my job and the people I work with. Makes it so much eaiser. By the time I got home I was bone tired. Gave hubby a kiss goodnight and crawled into bed. Not sure my head hit the pillow and I was sound asleep.:)

Breakfast........1 fried egg(using pam spray)
........................2 slices of Hollywood toast
........................coffee
Lunch...............1/2 Tuna Helper
........................coffee
Supper..............3oz Liver
..........................1/2 Tuna Helper
..........................banana
..........................2 rice cakes
Snack.................Jello (Sugar Free)
..........................6 pringles (salt and vinegar)
I drink water at work all night long always 4 bottles or 8 cups and I drink about 3 or 4 glasses at home.

Sounds like you had quite a workout! Don't forget to stretch a lot after each workout or else you're going to ache the next day! What's a tuna helper?

Judy2
02-06-02, 01:39 PM
ChinaDoll:

Tuna helper is a mix of macroni and cheese and you add a can of tuna to it. Just a quick dinner or supper when your in a hurry and no time really to cook. But my family loves it. And thanks for the advice on streching.......sometimes I forget and then I really pay for it later........Judy

P.S. Have a great day......:ribbon:

In total I would like to lose 45 pounds. So far in total I have loss 23 pounds and counting. I know the rest will take time to come off but as long as I don't put any back on now I am very happy. And with the exercise I have been doing my body is building muscles instead of flab.......I have gone from a size 16 (ready to split at the seams) to a size 13 with a lot of room to spare.:) I feel better and much definetly look better than I have in a long time. So with some hard work in the exercise department I know I will eventually reach my goal.........

Judy, I had a bad cold last month too & I had to take about a 5 day break from my treadmill. It made me sad but I just didn't have the energy. You can't beat yourself up over it... everybody gets sick & it is your body's way of telling you that you need to rest.

SO........ REST!!!! Don't overdo, or you won't get better as quick as you might! Take vitamins, drink lots of liquids, and take it easy. I'm not a Mom, I just sound like one, LOL!

You'll be back on your feet soon & ready to go... and we'll be here for you!

Maximum:

A freind told me about this 3 day diet he had tried and it got him on the right track for losing weight. Basically here is what you eat for the first 3 days.
This diet works on chemical breakdown. All foods should be eaten and no substitutions made. Salt, pepper, Sweet & Low, and diet drinks are okay. Diet for 3 days at a time then resume eating normally for 4-5 days. Don't overdo! It is possible to lose up to 10 pounds in three days using this meal plan.
Day 1

Breakfast: 1/2 grapefruit, 1 slice toast, coffee or tea (anytime).
Lunch: 1 cup tuna (packed in water) 1 slice toast, coffee or tea.
Dinner: 3 ounces lean meat, 1 cup string beans, 1 cup beets (not pickled), 1 cup vanilla ice cream, 1 medium apple.

Day 2

Breakfast: 1 egg (any style, 1 slice toast, 1/2 banana.
Lunch: 1 cup cottage cheese, 5 saltine crackers.
Dinner: 2 weiners (hot dogs), 1 cup broccoli, 1 banana, 1/2 cup carrots, 1/2 cup vanilla ice cream.

Day 3

Breakfast: 1 slice cheddar cheese, 1 apple, 5 saltine crackers.
Lunch: 1 hard boiled egg, 1 slice toast.
Dinner: 1 cup tuna (packed in water), 1 cup cauliflower, 1/2 cateloupe, 1/2 cup vanilla ice cream

I did this for 3 days and lost 10 pounds. Which was a great incentive for me. Then I just started cooking differently without all the fat and creme sauces and started counting calories. Plus I exercise and drink lots of water.
P.S.
Thanks for caring

I have 2 days off now from work so hopefully I can recuperate and get over this cold. It's hard to accept the fact I am not up to par just when everything was going so well. But I refuse to let this get me down as I know I will be as good as new in a short time. My biggest problem is impatience .......I want results now but I am going to be doing this change in my life forever so why rush it?......Thank you for caring and the support you give.

Well at least I feel better this morning. Still got a bit of a cold but I don't think it's nearly as bad as what it was.My nose looks like I am either Rudolf's mother or a real close 2nd. Thank god for 3 ply kleenex or it could look worse.:) I am so glad I have 2 days off now. Just to do what I want.........yeah right.........daughter has a soccer game in Toronto on Saturday and today is a practise for her. Not complaining really I love watching her games. Her zest for the game is so great. And I won't be complaining about the travelling if she is off to the oylmpics in 2004....:D

Lunch...............Salmon Sandwich

Supper...............Toss Salad with 4 oz of chicken (all white meat)
...........................banana
..........................I drank at least 10 bottles of water at work last night. Seemed to be extremely thirsty. Probably due to the cold.
And yes I know I didn't have any breakfast yesterday but I just couldn't bear to look at food.

Have a great day everyone :rose: :rose: :rose:

A VERSE FROM MT FAVORITE SONG(my inspiration each day)

I've been down this road before
I'll never quit
I'll never lay down
See I promised myself that I'll never let me down

So I'll never give up
Never give in
Never let a ray of doubt slip in
And if I fall
I'll never fail
I'll just get up and try again
Never lose hope
Never lose faith
There's much too much at stake
Upon myself I must depend
I'm not looking for place or show
I'm gonna win

Yes there is a very good chance that my daughter could be on the Canadian Women's Soccer Team in the year 2004. She is 14 right now and on one of the best teams in Ontario right now. They are undefeated for 2 and a half years now. The scouts are already looking at these girls and my daughter I am very proud to say is among the top 5 to be watched. She has the speed and ball control they look for. I have little doubt baring injuries(knocking on wood) that she will make a name for herself in this sport.:ex:

I am feeling so much better today. I didn't do any exercising yesterday but thats ok as I need to rest. However I did finish painting the baseboards in the house. We now only have 2 rooms left and the whole house has been done. My daughter and I watched the opening of the winter oylmpics on TV last night. When the Canadian Team came out she got all teary eyed so I asked her what was wrong. "Oh mom I just want to be able to do the same in 2004 as these guys are doing now. The feeling must be the greatest ever." Now if ever there was a tear jerker moment in my life this was it. What a kid I have.
I have to say though when they brought out the flag from the world trade center no one in our home had a dry eye.

Well enough of me going on and on .........lol
Today my daughter has a game in Toronto and its a 2 hour drive so I need to get moving and get a walk in before we go.

I must have really been tired when I finally went to bed it's 8:30 here and I have just crawled outta bed and sit here with my first cup of coffee. Thankfully everyone else is still asleep so I think I will get my time alone still. It's what I most look forward to each morning. The peace and quiet of the morning.I had a wonderfull time in Toronto yesterday. Even thou we only went to the Hangar where the kids play soccer. Just getting together with the other parents is something we all look forward to. It's so nice that not only the kids on the team get along but the parents do also.
I was extremely busy before we went yesterday though. Went for my walk in the morning for 1hour and 45 minutes. Came home and did a half hour of aerobics. Then decided that the laundry should be half way done so got 2 loads washed and dried. Also washed and cleaned the van out. Packed everything I could think of that we would need for the trip. And yeap like most women I pack what we don't need just in case....lol
By 3:00 o'clock we were loaded and ready to go.
The game was at 7pm and by the time we finished the game our kids were starving so we found a restaurant that would take a mob of 30 plus people. We left Toronto fully satisfied in both the outcome of the game and our stomachs being full.:)

Breakfast.............one egg (fried in pam)
............................2 slices of diet toast
............................1/2 grapefruit
Lunch...................salad (with no fat Italian Dressing)
.............................cheddar cheese(8 saltine crackers)
Supper..................Turkey Burger(grilled on a open flame)
.............................topped with lettuce, onion tomato
.............................MMMMMMmmmmmmmmmmm delicious
Snack....................fudgesicle(the 46 calorie one)

I always make sure I drink the recommended 8 glasses of water and I probably had hmmmmmmmm 8 cups of coffee also.

P.S. Since starting my diet on Jan.8th as of this morning I have lost 25 pounds. Yippeeeeeeeee

Hi Judy -

Just took a look at your journal. You sound like a very busy woman!

I think its awesome that you're daughter has found something she both loves and is good at. As I'm sure you know, its so good for kids to have activities like that, and you sound like a very supportive mom.

About your weight loss, all I can say is "WOW!" Twenty-five lbs in a little over a month is really incredible. You're kicking some butt girl! Keep it up!

PS - I absolutely love fat-free fudgesicles. If you're on a diet and you're craving something sweet, those are the best. While I was home for Christmas break I went through a whole big box of the Healthy Choice brand. Those have 80 calories, but they're huge and totally worth it.

We all ask ourselves "What took us so long to get started on losing weight?" ... for me, I didn't know how to lose the weight. But now I do, tks to DT journals. Boy, I wish I can lose the weight as fast as you ... I guess I'm not so discipline ... got another 10 lbs to go ... hopefully, I can lose it in 1-2 months! You're doing such a great job, keep up the good work!

Thanks Angie and ChinaDoll for your encouragement. And yes if I had one thing I really like about myself it's my determination. When I start something I like to see it through till the end. I am so
pumped when it comes to losing this weight. It's just what the :doc: ordered.
My weight loss is slow this month compared to last month however I am getting toned and still losing so that counts for as much as the weight coming off in my books. They say the last few pounds are the hardest to lose but as long as I don't gain any back then I am compeltely satisfied.:D
Well it's off to work for me:c(
Have a wonderfull day everyone.

And from my hubby I got a ceramic tree (center piece) for the dining room table and a card. My son called to wish me a happy valentines day also. So I am pretty lucky to have a family like I do.

I'm so bored right now it's unbelievable. This is the first weekend without a soccer practise or a game for my daughter. Luckily she is off to a dance tonight so she is handling it ok.......lol
I can't believe just how much of my free time is spent with soccer and when there isn't any I'm in a quandry. I must have done something before she started playing this sport. GAWD what was it? Is this what my life is going be when she is all grown up and living on her own. :c(
On the other hand I can go and watch TV for a change without being interrupted.:)
I've been able to chat on diettalk today when I felt like it.......another plus. Im not fighting traffic .......woooo who
I guess when I look at it in another way I can find plenty of choices to fill up my evening. Kinda like the way we make choices everyday as to whether we eat right or not. And yeap Im rambling on here cuz Im still really BORED........LOL
Well think I will go and see what's on the boob tube. Have a great night everyone.......

Congrats to our figure skating team for finally getting the gold they deserve. And now that this has happened I do hope they clean up the judging of this sport so all athletics can be given a fair and equal chance on the ice.
It's 7am here and the house is so quiet.........just the way I like it in the mornings.:) I have decided to join a Aquafit class starting Monday. Hoping this will be good for the toning of my body that I need so desperatley. Ive done this a couple of times but I need to do it everyday in order for it to help me. Going for my walk soon and now that I have started listening to a cd while I walk Im going to take 2 cd's this morning to listen to. See just how far I can go and then back when the cd's have played fully.

Finally, here I am again. Was a bit busy.
Today to get the kids going, buy a bday present for J's friend and drop him off. That alone took till 2.30 PM.
I don't know about yours, but my kids seem to go in super slow mode when there is no school. Doesn't matter if we have other things planned, you practically have to light a fire under their bum to get them going. And Roly isn't even in school yet....
Think that has to do with my relaxed look at life? Maybe they just look after me. Poor kiddo's...:D

Aquafit sounds fun. Do you mean you are going to do an Aquafit class every day?
I haven't done any exercise yet but I better hurry up because it is Wedn. before I know it. Plan on doing some today. Seriously, today....I'm not kidding...Would I lie to you....:)

I feel the same about the pairs skating. Did you see Becky Scott win the 5 km cross country bronze medal? That was pretty exciting to watch....
Well have fun this weekend, soccer or not. Maybe you feel inspiration to write a new poem. Or read a good book? I have a stack of books that I still want to read, resembling the Eiffel Tower. :)

Aweeeeeeee up at 7am with the whole house to myself for at least a hour.....:)
Yesterday turned out to be rather busy just the way I like it. My son called and the famous words of "Hey Mom" "What's for lunch" soon followed.......lol My daughter had to work so I ran her out to the mall and picked up a couple of things. Spent most of the afternoon yakking with my son and then followed him so he could leave the car and gave him a ride out to where he works. As his boss and him were going to Toronto for a Pool Tournament . Hope he had fun. He is a good kid and was so happy as he had just learned he was being promoted to Manager . At 20 he was beginning to wonder if being where he was is worth it or not. Getting this promotion I think he will probably stay as he really does love it out there. And at 20 how many are promoted to a managers postion? But he has always been level headed and well liked and of course a hard dedicated worker. so I figure they picked the best man for the job......:D (And I swear I am not bias)
A friend I hadn't seen in a long time came over and she was a bit shocked to see that I had lost the weight I had. Wanted to know the in's and out's of how I did it........lol We had a great time and even watched some of the olympics together. Love spending time with friends and just catching up on all the gossip........lol
After supper hubby and I watch the olympics till hmmmmmmmmmmmm he woke me up and asked if I might be more comfortable in bed sleeping...:o

Breaksfast..............poached egg on diet toast
...............................coffee and water
Lunch......................slice of apple cinnamon bread
...............................coffee
Supper....................chicken breast(baked skin removed)
...............................1/2 cup scalloped potaoes
................................1 cup of beets
................................1/2 cup of peas
................................1 med. banana
Snack.......................7 pringle salt n vinegar chips
................................fat free diet fudgesicle

Drank all my water for the day also.

:ex:

Went for a walk ,run in the morning for 1 hour.
And after supper went out and ran around the block for a half hour.

Judy2:rose:

P.S. Angie

Great for your son to get the promotion. That's pretty good at 20. He probably looks after you...am I right? :) Does he still live at home?
Glad that your Saturday was nice and busy, so you weren't bored. I had a nice relaxed one.
Today too, it will be just Roland and me. Have to find something fun to do. It looks like it is nice outside, blue sky and all. Maybe we can walk to McD so he can play in the playground there.

How did you like the way we won the bronze medal in short track speed skating? :D

OMG I am sooooooo tired this morning. What a long day yesterday. Got called into work at 1pm and didn't leave there until 3am this morning. You would think the christmas rush had just started with the amount of mail we had in that plant last night. Either I have rocks for brains or I am just plain greedy working all that overtime. Ok Ok I admit it I am greedy.
I think I finally got to sleep about 4:30 this morning and I just rolled out of bed at 11 am. So unfortunetly I didn't get to the aquafit class this morning. But will go on Wednesday morning now. and nope I am not even going for a walk today I already had a good workout last night and in the wee early hours of today at work. Plus the fact I have only a couple of hours to get everything done around here and go back to work.:c(
But 2 weeks and 4 days and counting and I have 11 days off from there........yipppppppppppeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Angie as for our bronze medal in speed skating.....WOW what a finish if I ever saw one. I watched the semi and the collision there and for it to happen in the final also....lol what can you do. Even the aussie was surprised first to get to the Final and then to win it the same way. Somebody was watching over that boy for sure.:)

Yah Whoooooooooooo I went for that walk this morning and went to the Mall just for a change. We have a goodwill store there and I am soooooooo happy I went in there. I found a rowing machine. One of the good ones made by York that costs about 200 dollars. I ran all the way back home......puff puff wheez wheez but I grabbed my purse hopped in the van and went back and bought it for 10 dollars.......what a bargain. It's brand new the lady who gave it to good will just didn't want it. Go figure...lol
Anyways one persons junk is another persons teasure. I love it just did a 10 minute workout on it and man can I feel the muscles now. Some I didn't even know I had.:o

Typically a case of being at the right spot, at the right time. Wow, what a great buy! You lucky duck. And to put it to such good use already, way to go girl.
I like going to Goodwill. If I didn't go there, I would have nothing to wear right now. Couldn't afford to buy a whole new wardrobe...and actually don't wanna spend the money on just clothes. Also I've bought lots of toys there. Give it a good scrub and the result is a pair of happy boys.
Hey, have a great day today and row, row, row those lbs away.

Can't wait for it to come out and then I can brag I know the writer. He is also writing another movie for Canadian Television and the only thing he will tell me is he is using my daughter's name as the main character. She is gonna flip when she finds this out. We will be saying goodbye to him soon as the money is going to start rolling in in May of this year. Im going to miss him. He is a great person to work with and deserves this so much. As he is very talented.

I saw that you said a few days ago you surprised a friend with the weight you'd lost - isn't that just the best feeling? Can't wait till I get to that point. Glad you mentioned it, cause just the thought is some quality motivation.:)

I can't believe you bought a rowing machine for 10 dollars. I'm jealous! I've never used one of those - so far is it a good work-out? What muscles do you use? Is it just upper body or leg work too? I guess i should check them out at the gym if I'm really curious....

Finally, here I am again.
First my ISP had problems, couldn't get connected. And yesterday was just busy. Dentist appointment and Rudi giving me all sorts of jobs to do.

I have to agree with you 100%. Our girls were great...!!! What a great game to watch. Did I get that right, did you watch the game at work...? Nice boss you have!
And then the guys against Belarus. (sp?) That was a great game too. Am looking forward what Sunday will bring...

Food is looking good. Even the piece of cake and the muffin. Hope it was not a Tim Hortons one. I've just heard that they are the worst. Loaded with fat. Heart attack in a muffin cup. For example, you think you're making a good choice if you order the carrot-whole wheat muffin. But that one has 20 grams of fat, more than 44% of the cals come from fat. Isn't that disgusting...? It has more fat grams than a choc.chip muffin... Figure that one...

Hope you will have a great time at the soccer game today. I'm glad there is a game. Wouldn't know what to do with you if there wasn't. :) You being called in to work was a real lifesaver last weekend...:)
Have a wonderful weekend Judy. :rose:

What a :super: team we have. Still undefeated in 2 and a half years. I love these girls. Such wonderfull kids and terrific athletics. I had a bagel this morning and was so good when we stopped for a very late lunch. I had a sub from Subway off their under 6grams of fat menu. Still full and it's now 7pm so not sure if I will eat anything else but I know I should.
Have a great Day

Hey Judy,

Big congrats to your teams!!!:)

Good to see you're still going strong. Isn't Subway the best? The food is good, inexpensive, and pretty much the only fast food you can still eat when you're on a diet! lol

Have a great day!:D

Liz

PS - Do you by any chance speak any French? (seeing as how you live in Canada). I'm considering minoring in French, so I was just wondering:D

Liz there isn't a remote chance in hadies that I speak French. Took in school so many years ago but I think I can say hello and goodbye and thats it. However I do speak Greek fluently if you ever decide to take it.:D

Grapefruit is wonderful! I just rediscovered them myself! I bought 4 on Saturday and have eaten 2 already! I'm going to have to stop buy and buy more for the rest of the week!

They are entertaining to eat too! I have a grapefruit knife so I can cut the grapefruit in half then cut out each section! Lots of fun. (I'm easily amused

I also love them because they have a way of keeping you from wanting to eat any thing else afterwards. :D

Have a great day!

Lucky for all of us it isn't contagious and goes away in a couple of hours.........lol

What a georgous day we had here yesterday. Sun shining and so nice and warm out if felt like spring.:flower:
Went to my aquafit class and today we used weights in our workout.........and also went in the deep end to do different moves. I really liked it in the deep end so today I am going to go to the deep end one for a workout. Thankfully they give us the choice of deep end or shallow end aerobics. So I am going to switch every other day as to what I do. After aerobics I stopped at the grocery store for a few veggies and things. Came back home and go on my rowing maachine for a half hour. Then decided to go for a quick run so I did about a 45 minute run also.
Had a great day at work again. Hmmmmmmm must be because I only have 8 days left to work and then vacation.:)

Its been beautiful weather around here too. This is my first year in college and I'm living quite a bit south of where I grew up, so this "spring time in February" thing is really great. I think I might even wear shorts tomorrow! Glad to see that you decided to take advantage of the nice weather and go for a run.:bfly:

Nope I never complain not at home and not about life in general. For me life is too short to argue with anyone and to bloody short to stay mad about anything thing. I got taught that lesson when my parents died when they were way too young. And since I put myself into this situation of needing to lose weight. There is no one to blame but myself. And if I argue with myself I lose everytime......:)
I feel great about losing this weight. I had to go and get a couple of new pairs of pants for work...........and I tell you the feeling from going to a size 36 into a size 29 was so cool.:D
I had to keep checking the label as to the size I was buying. I was grinning from ear to ear when I purchased them.
Nutdoc:

Nope not going anywhere on vacation. we were going to go to Arizonia but decided to stay here and this summer put a pool in instead. But as far as I am concerned just being away from work is good enough for me. And I will take a few day trips with my daughter aas she has March Break then also. And I know I sign my name with a flower.........lol........get this I am allergic to roses big time. Here's me, marching into Judy's journal to pick up a stack of motivation.... hmmm, looks like energy is on special! I'll take some of that.... Determination, yeah, I'll take a bottle of that... Grumpiness? None? You don't have any in stock? Aw, I was hoping to catch that on sale, I'm almost out.....a case of the hungries just lying here all forgotten and alone, you've completely left the hungries in the dust! They've spoiled! Kalimera Judy,

Back again. Took the weekend off and it's so hard to get back into my rhytm again.
Today I have Julian at home sick. He's been sneezing and coughing for a few days but last night he had a fever. Still feeling a little warm this morning and not looking too hot. Maybe a day at home will give him a boost.
So you're fluent in Greek...Now doesn't that come in handy in 2004...Have you been to Greece before? The only word I know in Greek you've read at the start of this post. That's it... :)
You still doing really good. Lots of exercise and good food. And a size 29...Wow...That will boost the morale... Have you weighed yourself lately?
Hope today will be another great one. Have fun!:rose:

You can come shopping anytime you like at my journal.:) True Grit girlfriend is the so cheap anyone can afford it here.......lol.....Thanks for making my day I laughed so much when I read your post.
As for a case of the hungries.......it's funny but all I used to think about was food........what's for lunch and 5 minutes after lunch what's for supper. I really didn't have a life a couple of months ago I guess.....lol Or was it the fact I worked night shift for a long time and my body clock was so off kiltered it didn't know when it was hungry so I fed it all the time.

Angie:

Ohhe(means No in Greek) I have never been to Greece. My ex was Greek and I learned the language because I thought his family was always talking about the Canadian. Guess what I was right........lol......Really schocked them all the day I answered them back as I never said I was learning the language......Wish I had a picture of them that day. It will come in handy in Greece though. My daughter doesn't speak it she can read it really well but has no clue as to the translation...........lol So she will need a translator if she makes it. :) the only 2 things that were good outta my first marriage were my kids. Im so glad that's in my past and I met a man who has made both me and my children so happy. We truly are a family and most think we have always been together. Could be because the kids have all his "bad" habits.

Hi Judy,

We had another gorgeous day down here in sunny California, lol.:)

I'm sure it'll be really nice to have you're time off coincide with your daughter's spring break -- did you plan it that way? You two sound like you get along fabulously; you must be a great mom!

So size 29, huh? My gosh girl, you're almost there!! :D You've been working so hard, I'm glad to see you enjoying the results.

Looks like aquafit its is really turning out to be a great thing. You must be burning tons of calories doing that. They say that you burn more in the water than anywhere else.

I can very much relate to what you were saying about always thinking about what to eat next......what a miserable way to live, eh? Isn't it great to be thinking instead about when you're next work-out will be? Or concentrating on things more important than food (like, well, pretty much everything!).

Keep up the good work girl! Have a beautiful day!

Liz

ps - I need to get some of that diet bread; so low in calories!

Thanks for stopping by my journal. As a matter of fact I did plan for vacation at the same time my daughter is off school for break. I just don't get to see enough of her when I work afternoons. :(
We are very close and Im glad we are. My son is 20 soon to be 21 and we get along great also. But he is busy with work and school so I don't see him as often as I would like. However he doesn't mind calling and asking me out for what he calls his touch of "I miss my mom date".....LOL I am lucky that both my kids are great kids and are close to me. I wouldn't want it any other way thou. But I must be doing something right as their friends all call me Mom too. Hmmmmm maybe I look like June Cleaver.......

Good morning everyone. Or should I say afternoon since it's 12:30 here. Well it's offical I have lost 29 pounds since beginning my quest for a healthier me. I was kinda hoping for 30 pounds:( but oh well 29 is not bad. :) I went to the aquafit class this morning. It's the best exercise in the world.:D Also did 25 minutes on my rowing machine. Went grocery shopping and have done 3 loads of laundry. Now all I have to do is go to work...lol

Breakfast...........1 Egg Omellette
..........................Diet Bread Taosted Dry
Lunch.................Muffin
Snack..................28g bag of Doritos
Supper...............Chicken Breast
..........................1/2 cup Scalloped Potatoes
...........................Green Beans 1 cup
Snack..................Oops another Muffin

ChinaDoll: I guess because I was never clsoe to my Mom I didn't want my kids to be the same as I was. I was so close to my Dad and when he died it was so hard. I have always talked to my kids and listened to them. They both know they are the most important things in my life. I would do anything for them yet at the same time I taught them to be self dependant and respect others. I must admit I have been truly blessed with these 2 kids and I know they are a gift. While others have problems with theirs they always say they wished their kids were more like mine. However I have never wished my child was like theirs.:)
You will be a great Mom when you and your hubby have kids.
Have a great day.

That's a great result and so very, very close to your goal. You're still going strong on the food and exercise. Do you know we almost had the same dinner? Only we had broccoli instead of the green beans. ESP.....!
I think too, that talking and listening to your kids is very important. Personally I had a great relationship with my Mom and Dad and I've always said that I just have to match their upbringing to create a beautiful childhood for my kids. The future will tell...

It's finally the weekend for me. WoooWhooo
I got up this morning with a killer of a headache and debated on whether or not to go to my water aerobics class. I popped a couple of aspirins and away I went. Glad I did as it really relaxes me for the day even though it didn't get rid of the headache. The flu has been going around and I hope I am not getting it but just feel like that is probably what I have. Since my son has been really sick with it for a couple of days now:(
It was so busy at work last night but I didn't take the overtime that was offered. Enough is enough I say. Laural has soccer practise tonight and a game tommorrow:D So my weekend is back to normal that way. And I only have 5 more shifts to work and Im on vacation. I can't wait. Sometimes you need to just get away from the place you work so you can go on for a few more months.....lol
Thanks Angie for saying Laural is pretty. I think so too and yeap she is skinny. A whopping 97 pounds and 5'5". No matter what she tries she doesn't put on weight. But she is so active she burns everything right off that she eats. That picture was at her grade 8 gradutation so she looks all grown up.:)

Snack.......................Dorito Chips 28g bag
Supper.....................1/2 cup 3 cheese Hamburger Helper

It's 8:30 here and I have been up since 6am. Already went for my run and have done 20 minutes on my rowing machine. Plus I have 2 loads of laundry done and 3 loads folded and put away. Not sure where all this energy is coming from but I feel great today. Thought yesterday I might be getting the flu but I was wrong. It's one of the few times Im wrong though and since it doesn't happen often it's ok.:D

You're eating so well! And mock chicken ... I tried that before and was really surprised that it tasted like the real thing. I love eating mock bbq pork though.

Up at 6am again this morning. It's suppose to snow or rain today so I figure the weather person doesn't really know but are covering their butts with predicting either....lol Hope they are wrong and it's sunny and hot.
My daughter's team won the game yesterday 5-1. Apparently our goalie felt sorry for the other team and she actually scored on herself.:o One of our girls was taken to the hospital though as she was taken down by a knee to the chest area and actually started coughing up blood. Thank god she is ok with just a bruised bone and the spitting up of the blood was nothing serious. Scared the daylights outta us thou. And yes the girl who did this was Red Carded outta the game and will not play until she goes before a board as to whether she should ever play again. I can honestly say we don't have any girls on our team that would ever do something like this. I don't understand how a coach could let their players come out and attack another player and then just shrug his shoulders.X-(
Took my daughter shopping later as she needed a black t-shirt for drama class. I ended up getting a new silk "TEDDIE" couldn't resist:D and it was on sale also. Too bad dh has the flu:c( but he actually smiled for the first time this weekend when I showed him.LOL

Drank 9 cups of water for the day.

Here's a question for everyone. My legs are tonning up with no problem but on my stomach I seem to have loose skin. I do situps but it doesn't seem to be helping in this area. Does anyone have any ideas on how to firm up in this area???????????

Stomach crunches/sit-ups should do the trick! Can't really help since mine is not firmed!

That's great that your daughter's team keeps winning every game!

I love shopping for lingerie though we don't have very nice affordable ones here ... I usually get mine when we go on holidays (esp to Australia/western countries).

I just had popcorn too (had to update my meal plan) ... couldn't eat the whole packet 'cos by the time I reach midpoint, I'm full and my jaws are aching from all that chewing! Does this happen to you?

noenoe
03-04-02, 12:15 AM
Wow, that's something else what happened in the game. I'm sure that got a lot of you scared. That coach should go before a board too...

Nice to buy some lingerie. Must be because you feel so much sexier now... What colour Teddie did you buy?

I'm not sure what to do about the flabby skin in the stomach area. You maybe should ask Bev (Big Bones).
If you look at her pictures, there is no flabby whatever in sight. She might be able to tell you what to do.

Have a great day tomorrow. What is it...4 more days till V-day?

Don't know what to tell ya 'bout the stomache area.......I HATE crunches with a passion, although I've done probably a billion of them in my life (back when I was cheerleading in highschool, that was our coach's favorite thing -- yuck!). I can tell you that I've heard actual sit-ups can be bad for your back, though. Have you ever tried one of those crunch machines at the gym? (the one where you're sitting down and you crunch forward, not those things that just make regular, on the floor crunches even harder). Cause I sometimes think that's better than doing them by youself.

Thanks for the invitation to come visit your journal, Judy. It looks like I’m just in time for the party. Happy Anniversary. :balloons:

Wow! 29 pounds! I can’t wait till I can report back with the same results. Your husband is fortunate to have a wonderful, dynamic woman as you. I hope he lets you know it.

Where is your website so I can read some of your poems?
I’ll stop back again sometime. I live in the Detroit, Michigan area, so we’re practically neighbors.

Good morning. It's 7am here and just a light dusting of snow this morning. But they say it's going to get warmer as the week goes on. Sometimes I think I should have been a weather person and get paid the big bucks to say "It's going to get warmer" DUH yeah eventually it's going get warmer. We are into the first week of MARCH.....lol Now was this the first week of December and they were saying it's going get warmer I would be leery as to ever believing that weather person again.
Thinkspring:
Thank you for stopping by my journal. My website address is
http://msnhomepages.talkcity.com/DeckDr/ju42 that is where I keep some of my poems and some fun stuff I have put on there.
Liz:
Your right about soccer being a rough sport. Always thought I wouldn't have to worry about my daughter getting hurt in this sport but she has had her nose broken another her shoulder plate and knee injuries broken arms and now what happened the other day to our player. It's such a shame that some have to play they way they do. To play just by skill would be so nice for a change. It's funny but my daughters team is just so darn nice on and off the field we parents sometimes wonder if they are for real. :) But these girls have talent real god given talent that shows up in every game. They picked the right name for their team 3 years ago. they call themselves The Force.
And would just like to add that marriage can be wonderfull. I didn't take my time the first time and wound up in a lousy marriage. I really should have listened to my Dad on that advice he was giving me. But this marriage Liz I took my time to get to know him and what his values were. And because I had 2 children I really looked at how he treated them and what kind of respect they were given. Im lucky I found my soul mate this time.
Angie & Nutdoc:
Thanks for stopping by and signing my journal as always you guys give me a lift in spirits everyday.

Judy,

How do you get up so early all the time?? I'm so amazed! You must be a natural morning person, eh? Not me......wish I was though,:( .

I like the name of your daughters team, "The Force." Sounds very intimidating, lol. My gosh your daughter has had a lot of injuries -- glad she's survived them all and is still able to play! She must be one tough kid.

You'r food looks great! Keep it up!:D

Hi Judy,

Thanks so much for stopping by my journal! It is always motivating to know somebody is reading what I am writing, helps keep me OP!

AHHH!! All of that really happens from playing soccer...I was recently thinking about joining a team next year, but now I am shakin' in my boots thinking about it. This means I am going to have to build even more muscle and stronger bones so I can become a "force" of my own.

Question- Do you plan all your meals in advance? You eat a really good diet, so I was just wondering.

Take care,
Kori

Hope you had fun at wateraerobics. Did you do the deep-end one?
So you want to be a weatherperson? Your forecast doesn't fit my area. It's cold, bitter cold. I'm longing for that warmer weather.
Few more days till March break. Did you make any plans already or are you gonna play it by ear?
Have a super day tomorrow. :rose:

March 6,2002

I had a pretty good day yesterday. Went to the Aquatic Centre for my aerobics class. I did the shallow end aerobics as I always look to see who is leading the class. And when it's Chris I do which ever one he is leading. He is so full of energy and makes it fun that he is my first choice in classes. It was a pretty good day for work also. I had the chance to go to day shift but I like all the people I work with and not so crazy about the ones on days so I turned it down. Might get the chance in another 10 years to go again........lol And I only have 2 more days to work and then Im off for 11 days.........yipeeeeeeeeeee I don't have any plans Angie but Laural is off for spring break also so we will get into something Im sure.:D
I would really like to go and watch a few movies which is something we don't do often because we are so busy with soccer.
Koridawn I never really plan in advance what I am going to eat except for my supper. That's only because I have to pack a lunch for work. I just started stocking the house with healthy food when I started my new lifestyle. My hubby and daughter still eat the way they always did. Neither one of them has to worry about weight. My daughter could actually stand to gain 10 pounds but she eats well it's just she burns it off so fast with her sport. As for getting up early Liz I have always been a early riser. I was raised on a farm where getting up at sun rise was mandatory. Them cows just wouldn't learn to milk themselves no matter what we tried.....
It snowed here last night so I have already cleaned off the driveway. I do hope it's the last of the snow for this year. It's great :ex: but I would rather be working in my garden.

Breakfast:....................1/2 grapefruit(39 calories)
.....................................2 peices diet bread with peanut butter(150 calories)
Lunch...........................Tomato Soup (93 calories)
.....................................Salmon Sandwich (made with vinegar)
on diet whole wheat bread........(178 calories)
Snack...........................2 pieces fat free cheese (62 calories)
.....................................8 saltine crackers (80 calories)
Supper..........................Chicken Breast (300 calories)
......................................1 cup beets (30 calories)
.....................................2 white cheddar rice cakes (78 calories)

Total calories 1010
Drank 12 glasses of water and one diet vernors gingerale.

I need to get to the grocery store and get some more fruit. That will balnce out my meals and I have already fixed a large salad to take to work tonight. I miss not having a salad at night when Im rushed to get ready.

Have a great day everyone.

Snowed here too, but you know that already from my journal. I desperately need some sunshine and warm weather. Spring cannot start early enough.
I'm looking forward to March Break as well. Allison is taking the time off, so that means no Khari. My friend Zita has offered us to hook up with her. She's planning on going to the YMCA in Oshawa almost every day and she has a set of free passes for me. Now that's a friend... So we'll do that for a few days. Rudi is also working on taking 1 - 2 days off.
What movies are you planning to see? I really want to see Oceans Eleven just because of Andy Garcia. I don't know if it's still playing, otherwise I have to wait till it's out on video.
Hope today will be another great one.:rose:

Hi Judy,

A really funny movie to rent is Rat Race. It is so stupid, it's hysterical. I'm suggesting that movie to all my friends. For going out, I really enjoyed Gosford Park and A Beautiful Mind. Not funny movies but worth the price of admission, that's for sure.

I love your detailed food journal. You are giving me some good ideas. I know this lifestyle doesn't have to be bland. You mentioned that you missed a salad at night. Is that something you crave since on your new eating plan or has that always been something you've enjoyed?

After a few days of salads, I tend to get bored of them. So I'm going to have to try different veggies instead.

Hi Thinkspring and Angie:

Just a quick note before I go to bed. I just got home from work and love to read my journal before I go to bed.:D
What a great friend you have Angie taking you to the YMCA. I'll bet you have a lot of fun. One more shift and I'm done for 9 whole days.Wooooooo Whooooooooooo Yipeeeeeeeeeeeeee YaBaDaBaDooooooooo. Does that sound like I can't wait.......lol
Thinkspring since I love funny movies I will definetly look into renting Rat Race. I want to go and see Lord of the Rings also. I heard from others it is an excellent movie.
and yes I eat a salad everyday. I really love my salads at supper time. So do my kids. So when I don't have time to make one for my supper at work I really miss it. It's almost like a day without sunshine to me.
Glad my menu helps you with your own food choices. I read others journals for the same reason. Just to see if there is something more appealing than what I eat.
Well time to catch some zzzzzzzzzzzzzz's 6am comes early.

March 7,2002:

Good morning everyone. Well we had a light dusting of snow overnight. It's suppose to be warmer today. :) One more day for me to work and then I am on vacation. I can't wait till 11pm comes and am outta the plant for a whole 9 days. It's not that I dislike my job but the thought of not having to be anywhere at a certain time for 9 days is a great feeling. And especially no bloody punch clock. Im not sure of who ever invented that thing but it's one of my pet peeves for some reason. I liked the old way better. Come to work have a good week and get paid for it. Now it's come to work , swipe in, swipe out for lunch, swipe in from lunch, swipe out and go home. I feel like Danielson wax on wax off (swipe in swipe out).:D But like anything I will get used to this new system and it will become a ole habit soon. And so long as my paychecks come and there is no problem then I can adapt to it.:)
ChinaDoll for the salmon sandwich I just take a can of salmon and to it I add celery, green onion some vinegar (about 2 tablespoons) and some pepper. Mix is all together and I top off the sandwich with lettuce. Makes a great lunch with a cup of tomato soup.

Breakfast........................2 slices white bread toasted (145)
Lunch..............................Apple Muffin (135)
........................................Pretzels (110)
Supper.............................2 Hot Dogs(360)
........................................2 slices diet bread (64)
........................................cup of chicken soup(75)
........................................Large Salad with No Fat Italian (80)
Snack...............................Preztels (110)
........................................Raspberry Jello Sugar Free (14 calories)

Total Calories 1093

Really need to get to the grocery store today. Even I don't like the looks of what I ate yesterday..........lol Fruit is definetly a must for today.

Have a great day all.

Thanks for the recipe ... I must try that ... is it plain vinegar or can I try rice vinegar?

ChinaDoll:

I use plain vinegar only because I have never tried rice vinegar. And truthfully I don't know what rice vinegar is like taste wise. Hope you enjoy your salmon and if you use the rice vinegar let me know what it tastes like.

Last day at work, hurray!
Now you write you're having 9 days off but I thought you mentioned 11 days earlier. What happened to those 2 days?
Our snow has mostly melted. Only the garden is still covered. And I don't want any new snow either. Thank you very much!
Have fun today!:rose:

Angie:

Your good at remembering what you read here.:) I was asked by one of the girls I work with if I could possibly work the Sunday of the 17th for her. She has a big family thing going on so I said ok. Which just means that I am off for 9 days right now. Will go back and work the 17th 18th and 19th and then take the other 2 days I have left plus it's my 3 day weekend so I will get 5 off then. So off for nine days work 3 days and off another 5 days.:D And my vacation has started right now.........Hoorrayyyyyyyyyyyy

As you can see by my last post I am offically on VACATION:D . No plans on doing anything specific for the next 9 days not counting the 2 soccer games. I need to totally relax this week. Work has been putting us under a lot of pressure in the last few months. We have a new plant manager and he is trying to make a name for himself. Well he has successfully done and made himself a few new names.
Usually I don't let anything get to me but this guy is something else.X-( So I figured last night since I was on vacation I would give him a piece of my mind. Whoa once I got started I couldn't st
