View Full Version : Hi
Hi!
I just started on this post and discovered this senior thing and sounds like my kind of place. Umm, well, not sure what else to say. I am tired of gaining and although I do not have lots and lots to lose, I do have lots to lose and am tired of hitting plateaus I promised I'd never hit. So, anyhow, hi and would love to join this group.
Thanks,
Magpie :rose:
monicapink 06-11-02, 12:03 AM Hi Mag,
Welcome to Diettalk ...... and TO ACHIEVING YOUR WEIGHT LOSS GOAL.
So glad you are joining us on our Journey to success. As always, Monica
Hi Magpie,
I am so glad you joined us and I am sure we can all inspire each other to success. I only wish I had some sense and joined when it was only a few pounds to lose. I always say it is the weight from when I had the baby, but my baby is 41 now so I guess I can't use that one any more. Welcome!!
Hi, Monica,
Thanks for the "hello." I am still a bit lost on how the whole thing works and how to really get active on the site. I'd appreciate any help.
Thanks,
Magpie, mag
monicapink 06-11-02, 11:21 PM Hi Mag,
Select the forums that appeal to you ..... start a thread (just as you did here). You will find much support .....
There are so many forums here at Diettalk ..... find the one that you feel applies to meet your needs.
Have you participated in Chat as yet? That will give you a wonderful opportunity to meet others .... discuss your weight loss program.
Check out the various Journals ....... I hope I have helped. Make it a great evening ... and have and make it a wonderful week. Always, Monica
Thanks so much. Nope, haven't hit the chat rooms yet. Will soon. This sounds like a fun way to deal with something that at times isn' much fun!

Thanks, now I need someone to tell me I DO NOT HAVE to eat anything after 7:00 P.M. I will not starve, I will not wilt away to nothingness, I will not die!!!!
Thanks,

monicapink 06-13-02, 07:35 PM Mag,
Do you need some recipes or ideas for healthy snacks (desserts) etc. You might check out the recipe forum. Lots of good ideas ... and YOU WILL NEVER FEEL DEPRIVED .... I know I haven't in these 27 months.
If you need some help ---- let me know. As always, Monica
Monica,
Thanks for sticking with me. Right now, I am on the brink of committing to losing weight and you are allowing me opportunities to find that commitment.
I love gaining weight with healthy snacks. I know better-been there, done that, and keep doing it again.
I am still a bit in the shy state and know you are correct about the chat rooms. With little itsy, spooky steps, I will creep into the rooms.
I look at what you have accomplished and need to step up to your level of commitment.
Please do not be discouraged with me. I am testing the water and trying to build my strength for the journey ahead.
I know I can do it, now I just have to get rid of the "I" and go for it.
Keep with me if you can.
Thanks for being there.

monicapink 06-14-02, 12:45 PM  My father used to tell me I was born with TENACITY .. otherwise known as being stubborn. You never have to worry about losing me ........ YOU DO WHAT YOU FEEL YOU NEED TO DO ...... just know THAT LOSING WEIGHT IS AN ACHIEVABLE GOAL irregardless of age, gender or how much ..... SELECT WHATEVER MEANS YOU FEEL COMFORTABLE WITH.
Check out my Journal .... leave a message for me and check for my response to you ..... YOU CAN DO THIS MAGGIE ...it's like our first step, somewhat awkward BUT THEN WE'RE OFF AND RUNNING.
Make it a great day and have and make it a fantastic weekend. As always, Monica
Hi Magpie,
I have been reading your posts and you are being coached by the best with Monica. I know what you mean by trying to make the commitment. I have been working at it since the last few months of 2001. I have changed diet plans three times now, but have found one that I feel will work for me finally. The only thing I can say is don't give up. That will only get you more pounds and less health. Keep on working at it until you also find what will work for you.
Sincerely, Alice :tongue:atriot:
I'm home:x
Thanks...You know, Monica, my high school Spanish teacher wrote in my yearbook that he liked my perseverance and I took that as one of the biggest compliments ever-since I was less than stellar in Spanish. Guess your dad and my Spanish teacher understood potential. Here's to you, Mr. White.
Thanks, Alice. I would kill to have lost 12 pounds. In fact one pound sounds great! Hey, maybe I can do it-no more marshmallows meant for my grandson. I can do this...
Best,
mag minus the pie
