Good Morning Snow Angels!!!

Are we ready for today??? You bet we are!!!! Before we start just a quick note to say we will weigh in on Wednesday. But not any plain ordinary Wedneday BUT Wonderful Weigh In Wednesday!! Let's keep our Wonderful Weigh In Day a happy and positive event!!!! No matter what we weigh on weigh in day we are winners because we are working towards our goal!!!!

Today is a beautiful day and the sun is shining. So we begin our second day with good positive energy. I am going to ride my exercise bike for 40 minutes and listen to a Harry Chapin CD while I am at it. Then I will work in my garden for at least 1 hour to get me out in the summer air. I will drink all 64 oz of water today and be happy that I am able to hold my own glass.

Yesterday since it was too warm for me to take a walk I did 40 minutes on my exercise bike. I traveled 7.25 miles at 10 to 11 mph. I felt wonderful!! I did get in my 64 oz of water. I didn't eat as healthy as I could have so today I will work harder to eat ONLY healthy food and stay on my WW program!!

Let the day begin!!! Remember we are all in this challenge and we will do it. Our success is just around the corner!! We will do this!!! We are determined to make a difference in our lives and we start now!! We are in control of our destiny!!!

Hi Snow Angels,
Last night I made an important decision. For right now I've decied to go off of weight watchers. Don't worry I'm not giving up on loosing weight. Instead of weight watchers I'm just going to be doing my own program. Anyways i have today off from working out, but I do plan to clean up my room today. To keep myself busy. I'm going to drink at least 3 liters of water, hopefully 4. I'm going to keep track of everything I eat.

Have a wonderful day everyone!

:) Katherine

I read your day 1 thread and I really liked it. My long term goal is to lose 55 to 60 pounds from 180. Right now I am at 169 so I have about 40 pounds to go.

The feel I get from this thread is... ."Meeting long term goals one day at a time"...and I think I can benefit from that. Sometimes even the month long goals or challenges seem so far away and so long. I also feel like if I miss a day then I messed up the whole challenge.

Can I set daily goals here? And be snow angels with you?

If I can then my December goal is to be at my goal weight of 128.

And my goal for today is to drink 6, 8oz glasses of water. And exercise for 30 minutes.

Nice to meet you all,
Helen

Hello fellow angels. Sorry to be so negative about the weigh in day yesterday. The scale and I have been in a fight for basically this whole year so I haven't been getting on it recently. For me, it is a real psychological blow when the scale isn't moving. It depresses me that I am working out everyday and eating so much better than I was and the blasted thing won't move.

BUT, that said, I know it is a good idea to be accountable. Maybe one of my goals will be to not let that number effect how I feel about myself so much. I know I feel a ton better, my clothes are looser, my endurance is up, my energy is up. These are all positive things. I know this. But as I'm sure you all know, I really want the number to go down too.

So - I will weigh in next Wednesday and my goal to be ok about it whatever the number is. I may need a little help.

Today I didn't make it to the gym in the morning, but will do so this evening after work for a workout on the elliptical machine (am shooting for 40 minutes). Yesterday, my eats were good except for the little matter of a bowl of ice cream with dh.

Today - I'll skip dessert after dinner. I'll get all of my water in.

Have a great day everyone.

Luci

Hello Snow Angels,

Hi Luci,
I understand exactly what you are saying. I always believed if you are staying on your diet and doing your exercises then there is no way you can't lose every week. So when I got on the scales and didn't lose I would get so bummed out and think why even try!!! Well now I know that that is not the truth. Our bodies are these fined tuned machines and have to adjust to our different eating habits and exercise. Something else I thought about when I gaining weight, I didn't gain every week so when I am loosing I shouldn't expect to lose every week.

I think that would be an excellent idea to have as a goal to see the scales as a device to measure weight not success!! If you need help all of us will be here to give you lots of support and lots of motivation.

I know about the ice cream since we had to have 4 -1/2 gallons on hand all weekend. I don't see anything wrong with a small bowl with hubby. Just count it in your program.

Your day sounds excellent!! Just remember to focus on the positives and go for it!!:) !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Helen,
Welcome to Snow Angels!! You bet you may join us!! I sure know the feeling of messing up one day and feeling like my program is doomed. But taking it one day at a time and starting over each day, to me, feels like I will get to my long term goal.

So what if you miss a day ! Just start again the next day and you are still on your way to your goal!! We just give ourselves credit for realizing our missed day and go on to victory!!

You are now a Snow Angel!!! You may state your daily goals!!You bet you can!! I like the goals you stated below. Those are achievable goals and healthy ones!!

You are on your way!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Katherine,
Weight Watcher's is not for everyone. You may have more success on your own plan!! You just have to find what works for you because that is what will get you to your goal. Good for you for making a change to the better!!
Go Katherine!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

We are off to a good start!! Now I am off to polish my wings!!
We will do this!! One day at a time!!
Yeaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!!!!!!!

Love and hugs,
Lizzie

Hello. day 2 as a snow angel. i am going to do arm weights today and exercise bike. i am drinking plenty of water too.
My x-mas goal is to lose 50 pounds to bring me to 142(22 from goal)
I am fdown 2 more this week and a total of 30 pounds in 11 weeks.
i will now keep 2 weigh in journals in the weigh in forum. one for my normal thursday weekly weigh in and one for the wed. snow angel weigh in. i dont wanna change my weigh day to wed cuz i will be short a day for next week and since this only runs till x-mas i think i'll keep 2 for now. what is everyone else doing for there weigh ins. is anyone switching there weigh days to wed or are they keeping 2 weigh in(one for week and one for snow angels? im still deciding how to do this. any input would be great so i can decide. if anyone knows either post it here or in my moinnies day journal or PM me.

Hello everyone and this is a wonderful idea. Lizzie I hope this thread will center a lot around the unique challenges of getting to 200 I am sure that others can feel welcome but I do think that there is something a little different about getting to 200 VS getting to 135. I only tetered above 200 for a little while and so I can't pretend to understand the situation but I have noticed a few things. That I hope no one minds me sharing. I really think there has to be a safe place for people trying to get a larger amount of weight off to discuss there exercise needs without having to compare themselves to those of us that have a little more mobility and are staring out the other side of the tunnel. I am not saying what I want to say very well. I hope that no one will get offended at this post but I just wanted to propose that to those of us that are 200 minus maybe we could give encouragement here in this challenge but try to be a little more sensitive and let this challenge be for those people that really are trying to get to 200.

I welcome any thoughts and if they are particularly nasty feel free to pm them so everyone else doesn't have to bother with it!!!

CJ,
Thank you for stopping by and sharing your thoughts. You see my final goal is 135. The 200 is just a long term goal along the way. I think that people are the same no matter if they want to lose 5 pounds or 500. We all have the desire to lose weight. Plus we all determine our needs as individuals not by our size.

The same thing applies with the exercise. I know my limitations and work within those until I am able to do more. I don't think it is appropriate for me to compare myself with someone who exercises a lot like yourself. I view my needs for exercise on an individual basis also.

I as an individual think it is important to know what others do for exercise and what kind of program they use. I also want to learn about lifting weights plus a lot more. If I limit myself to only what I can do then I am cheating me. I need to learn from others who are more mobile then me right now! People who are exercising a lot and improving their bodies inspire me to try harder.

The objective of starting this thread is to present the opportunity for others to state their long term goal and work towards that goal one day at a time. There is no limit on what that goal should be. Each one of us as individuals determine what that goal will be and determine how we will get there.

I have been coming to DT since Nov 2001 and have yet to meet anyone who is insensitive or judgmental to others with weight problems or limited physical abilities. On the contrary, I have met positive open people who are supportive and friendly like yourself.

With that kind of support and caring DT is a safe place for people of any size to talk about their weight. If I didn't feel safe then I wouldn't be here talking about my weight and other issues. So you can see I am thankful for DT and all the wonderful folks that I have met here. We all work together like a team and yet we are all different!!

Thanks again for sharing your thoughts. You are welcome to stop by any time and express your feelings That is why we are here.

Have a super day!!
Love and hugs,
Lizzie

Lizzie I agree with you. We all have the same desires or we wouldn't be here. Everyone here wants to get healthier, either by losing weight, exercising or both. I know through my buddy group that my goals and needs can be the same as some who has 100 pounds to lose or someone who has 10 pounds to lose. We are in this together which is what DT is all about. :)

Sandy,
I am not switching my days for weighing either. I do my WW weigh in on Sunday morning and I will just weigh again on Wednesday. If I start getting crazy with the scales I may change to Wednesday but I will see how it works first!!

Excellent goals for today!!

Lizzie

Lizzie,

Thanks for the invitation! I'm having a hard time getting from day to day, so maybe this will help. I'm doing WW and it works for me, IF I stay on points. Since my ultimate goal is to get to 200, that isn't very realistic for this challenge. I think 70 pounds in 6 months is pushing just a BIT! I will aim for 230 by December 31, which is just about 40 pounds.

My goal for today is to get all of my water in. I won't be doing exercise today because I have a sinus infection and my head is POUNDING!! But I have a treadmill, bike, videos, and I just bought one of those balls that you do exercises on. Since I have a broken tailbone, I can't lay on my back or do some of the exercises on the floor, so this should help.

I missed the weigh in yesterday, but today I'm at 270. For those of you that read my journal, you know about the mental struggle I'm having with the 260's. I WILL get back down there this weekend...THAT'S my short term goal.

Good luck everybody!!

Hi fellow angels!
Day 2 was a bit of a bust.....I went to my Mom's and didn't get any exercise (other than flappin' jaws).
The heat gets me quickly! I'm a big weenie when Summer hits. I will have to work around it, 'cuz that is just a hill, not a volcano out there!
Have a great day !! Woohoo we're picking up some super duper folks along the way!
