Lizzie B 06-25-02, 08:33 AM Good Morning Snow Angels,
Opened the back door to let my dogs out about an hour ago and whamo the humidity hit me right between the eyes!! My first thought was this is going to be a lousy day. Noooooooo wait a minute this day will not be lousy. That was some faulty thinking right then. Today is going to be a wonderful day full of promise and surprises. I am going to make it a great day by:
1. Staying on my program
2. Drinking all the water and less coffee.
3. Exercise but also be careful of my back.
4. Cook something new
5. Work in my garden for at least 1 hour
6. Read at least 2 chapters in Life Stategies by Dr. Phil MC Graw
7. Watch Oprah.
First I am going to have my coffee boost like you Brenda!! Quit drinking coffee for 5 years then one day started again. I decided that 2 cups in the morning was okay.

Now Angels time to start the day. I even got up early and decided I would make a good effort to be up early every day!! We'll see how that works out!!
All we have to do today is accomplish our goals for today. Just focus on today and be proud of our accomplishments!! No one can stop us from having a super day if we decide we are in control of ourselves.
Today is going to one of the best no matter what happens because we choose to make it one of the best. Today is one more baby step towards our goals and look at us, we have pulled together 7 days in a row. Wow weeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!!
Who says we are not strong and determined??? We sure don't because we are STRONG!! Nothing will bring us down today!! Nope not today!! We are winners and are worth what it takes to be successful! So let's get out there and do it!!! Make today a special day!!!! Okay ready? Let's do it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I love Dr. Phil and am looking forward to HIS show! I want that book too and it is on my reward list when the pounds start dropping!
I needed the moral boost today. I got my big butt in the grinder with my boss yesterday. Last week I was being silly and crossed the line while talking to his Dad about him leaving town without telling us he'd be gone all week. I said "the little terd slipped out without telling us and we had a sale on Wednesday"......well Daddy boss took MUCH offense and needless to say my job is history if it ever happens again. SO ZIP MY LIPS! I knew the instant it slipped out I'd made a major blunder. I must remember this is my BOSS, not my brother. I felt really crummy over it and knew I'd get heat. I sincerely apologized to my boss and feel I should to the MR. as well. He stays angry a very long time over some things.
I'm trying to forgive myself for my stupidity and move on. GOOD NEWS.....I didn't eat over it. That doesn't happen often!
I liked Sandy's top 10 too, as well as everyone elses goal list! I can do # 6 and 10.....no probleemo!
Mine: for this last week of June! Where does time go??
1) Walk 12 miles 4.25 down
2) 100 oz. of H2O daily Monday: 108
3) NO TV eating! Monday! Yippee! Did it!
4) PLAN meals uhhh, did I mention I cook like once a week?
OK I'll work more on # 4 and be diligent in the other. I have two sugar free days down but as a capuccino will be calling out for consumption sometime this week, no sugar didn't quite make my list.

I met all of my challenges yesterday, stayed on points, albeit the high end, drank all of my water, and did 20 minutes on my bike PLUS did some bicep curls and tricep exercises while pedaling with 5 pound weights. I'm down another .5 pounds today! Tomorrow is my official weigh-in, here and WW, so we'll see what tomorrow brings!
My goals for today:
1. Drink EXTRA water
2. Stay on low end of points
3. Clip coupons tonight to go to store
4. Exercise
Is Dr. Phil on Oprah every day? I've yet to see him! I'd like to at least catch one show to see what all of the hoopla is about.

I am new to the forums here, but just by reading the few posts I have, I am already motivated to join this challenge.
My goal to reach for December 31st is to lose 50lbs. Right now I am at 314lbs, so that would put me at 264lbs. I just started Weight Watchers so I will be carefully watching my points, keeping my journal of what I eat everyday, and for exercise I am going to start walking with my dog in the evenings. Also one thing that I am terrible about it getting all my water in for for day, so I will make a big effort to get my 8 glasses in a day.

Look forward to hearing how everyone is doing on their challenge, and sharing my journey of the challenge with everyone.

Walking your dog is an excellent way to start walking. I have never been able to walk my dogs any where!! I always end up carrying them back home!!(grin) Think I spoiled them toooooo much!
Gosh the dreaded water. I have to really work at getting my 8 glasses in also. Try a slice of lemen or lime in the water and see if that helps get it down. I try to keep mine as cold as I can then drink it!!
Michelene we are taking a long journey but what makes us special is that we are concentrating on one day at a time!! That really helps me stay focused. I can do anything for one day. So with my diet and long term goals broken down into one day at a time I know I will succeed. This is the longest I have ever stayed on a diet. I have been doing ww since Dec 31.2001 and have lost 32 lbs. Yes it is slow but this way I know it will stay off.
I also would like to invite you to our Friday Night WW Chat that starts at 9:00 eastern time. We have an open discussion about issues facing us as we move on our journey to meet our goals.

I am so sorry you got in trouble with your boss. I know how easy it is so say something and not realize it could cause us grief. Do forgive yourself and move on after all you are only human. We all make mistakes!! Yeaaaaaaaaaaa for you for not using food to calm you feelings!! That alone was worth the mistake!!!
Today is going to be a great day!! Hang in there you are going to do great!!!!

Dr. Phil is on Oprah on Tuesday only. Hope you get a chance to to watch him today !! Sometimes he is a little intense but basically he had some excellent tips on learning about one self and why we use food as a comforter.
Keep up the excellent work!!

Brenda, cute story, and I feel your pain, I often blurt out stupid things, and live to regret it. I guess I just have a big mouth. I guess that could explain why I'm here. 8-|
Had a great day yesterday. And am going to make another great day today. In fact i'm going to go get a glass of water right now.

ajmarble 06-25-02, 02:38 PM We are all doing AWESOME!!!!!! We will all meet our goals... just look at the determination we have. As for myself yesterday, I did 15 min on Nordictrack, 15 min on stat bike (4 miles), 30 min Tae Bo, and in the evening I went to water aerobics which was 1 hour. I did the best I have ever done with water... 138 oz.!!!!!YEAH!! I was within calorie range with...1281 calories. I feel great and have already done my exercise again this morning...same as yesterday. I will be going to water aerobics again tonight.
GOALS FOR THE DAY..........
1. Drink at least 96 oz water......
2. Exercise for 2 hrs.....( 1 hr down already)
3. Try a new recipe for dinner....Mexican bake, from Monica....
4. Take my daughter to the wading pool...she is almost 3:D
5. Stay within 1300-1500 calories.....
6. Keep a positive attitude!!!......
7. Clean the bathrooms, vucuum, and dust......
8. Tell you all......

Minnie mouse 06-25-02, 03:40 PM Hello snow angels. wow day 7 already! well tommorw we post our first weigh in here. my ww weigh in is thursdays but i 'll do it here and on thuirsdays there. no biggie till x-mas.
well i did good yesterday. even resisted temptation at work and came home and had watermelon.
today cleaned out closet and bagged up too big clothes and threw them in burn pile. burn baby burn!!!!
today i rode 6 miles on exercsie bike and did arm weight. 20 front curls and 10 pbutterfly ones.
took the kids to rent movies for them.
washed clothes,did dishes,made beds,put dry clthes away,swept floor and took shower.
still gotta make dinner and do dishes again before work.
i ate good today so far. so far had for breakfst oatmela and fresh blueberries.
for lunch i had fat free ham sandwich and banana.
well i'm off. good luck to everyones first weigh in tommorow including myself.... have a great day snow angels!!
My goal for today is to get through it. Have you ever had one of those days where everything just seems off? Overslept this morning, missed the gym, had some pastry for lunch (unlike Minnie - I didn't avoid the temptation at work), tummy feels kinda gross. Yeesh. I sound like a whiner.
Oh well. For the rest of the day - I will be strong and positive. I will go and get a big glass of water. I will exercise this evening. I will eat according to plan. I will go to bible study and ask for help on my journey. I will reconsider my reasons for wanting to get healthy. I will focus.

canadian_snow 06-25-02, 08:43 PM Hey all, just thought I would stop by and get some motivation for the rest of the day. Havn't been feeling very up today. I'm working on finding a new job but it's not going well. I just got back from a walk... I thought exercise was supposed to release endorphins.. didn't seem to work. Since I missed lunch, I'm going to go have an early dinner..then this evening, I'll do my new yoga tape, hopefully by then i'll be in a better frame of mind, and if not I'll just focus on that great dress I'll be buying myself for a christmas present, that's gotta help me there.

Well first off thanks for all the warm welcomes, look forward to getting to know everyone sharing our stories with eachother.
Today was a good day for me. I actually for the first time in a long time I drank all 64 ozs of water. Though I feel like I am going to float away hehe but I did it. Which for some might be a small step, but for me it was huge since I really am not a water drinker. Also I took my dog for a walk this evening after dinner walked about 1/2 mile which is good for me, and am going to try to do that every evening. My husband is walking with me so that helps me alot and makes the walk much more enjoyable.

Hi Everyone,
How was everyone's day? Mine was really good. This morning I went to an EDD workout shop. The workout was an interviewing class, and I really enjoyed it. We got a packet with a list of interview questions that are commonly asked and I'm going to write down some answers to prepare myself. Latr in the afternoon I did my food shopping then when i got home I marked down the points on food items so i have them ready to go.
My goals for today are.
1. stay within my daily points
2. drink all my water
3. look for Grove in the house tape for tomorrow workout (i have today off)
4. do my food shopping.

( Not A God Reason ) I had a rough day yesterday but today has been good my water intake has not been good but I'm trying I keep it around...ALL THE TIME...that way if I want to drink something it is there and I do get up at night and drink water through out the night. Well I'll be back tomarrow with my weigh in so I'll talk at you then. ( I'll...TRY...to get off my bottom and exercise ) Ruthieb

What a wonderful day!!!!! I have taken a couple of naps today!! For some reason I have been very tired today and when I sat down to watch Oprah my eyes kept closing. So maybe I heard about half the show. Thought it was good about the marriage and finances.
Accomplished all my goals except exercising! I needed to rest my back. Tomorrow I should be back on the exercises. This past 7 days I did 275 minutes of exercises and did 34.85 miles on stationary bike. Tomorrow I start keeping track of minutes for next Tuesday. In case you don't know there is an exercise chat on Tuesday night. We keep track of all the minutes we exercise during the week and report in on Tuesday night! I think we have thousands of minutes !!! Get a chance stop in for some extra motivation!!
I talked to my sis tonight. They moved her out of ICU and on to surgical floor and might send her home tomorrow with Home Care. There will be a nurse and health care aide taking care of her at home. When her fever broke she started getting better. She is still very sick but her doc is trying to keep her out of the hospital. That is what my sis wants is to be home with her cats and our mother. Her doctor is really working with Teresa to stay home. She does not want to die in the hospital.
I do not know how she was able to get better but I think it was all the prayers that helped. She was a little fuzzy with her memory but it was so good to hear her voice. My niece is with her and my sis from Texas will be there tomorrow to make sure everything is set up at home. What a relief!! Teresa told me she thought that she wasn't going to live but for some reason she got better. This time anyway! Each time she has an episode more damage is done to lungs and kidneys and now the brain. Plus she is weaker than before. Like she said God is guiding her.
Tomorrow is our weigh in day!! My scales are not going to go down. I have exercised everyday and stayed on program. So the plateau continues. I was down a pound on Sunday but the pound came right back. BUT I will not give up and I will not be upset. I WILL continue to stay on my program and continue exercising!! I know that soon I will have a big drop in my weight!!
Therefore I will stay motivated and push forward!!
You all have been awesome today!! We all have had our minor ups and downs but we are still hanging in there and supporting each other!!!!:x That is so cool!
