View Full Version : Snow Angels Trek To December ~~Day 9~~
Lizzie B 06-27-02, 11:12 AM Good Morning Snow Angels,
Wow here we are day 9!!! Time is moving so I better get moving and get today started. I over slept this morning. Actually I woke about 4:30 but decided to stay in bed for a few minutes and then woke again at 6:00 and decided to rest my eyes. Here it is 8:40 and my eyes are still tired!! I am up and ready to start the day even though my body wants to go back to bed. I am not giving in I am staying up and starting this Fabulous day!!!!!!!!
Just peeked put my office window and can't believe my eyes. My lilies are in full bloom and a mass of orange!!!!!!!! What a sight!! They stand about 5 feet tall and are beautiful!! The rain and the warm humid air just caused the blooms to pop!! There must be over 200 blooms!! What a sight!! The fun part is 5 years ago when I planted about 5 lilies my hope was someday to have them multiple and become exactly what they are today. Now there are over at least 75 plants that is how fast they multiply. Now next year there will be twice as many!!
The exciting part is this was a long term goal that I worked on one day at a time. I watered, pulled weeds, fertilized, hoed, and talked to my lilies everyday since I planted them ,except during the winter months. Now I see my reward for all my hard work.
Now I can look at my lilies and enjoy their beauty. Guess what I am also working on my long term goal for me. I eat healthy, drink lots of water and exercise and one day soon I will see all my work bloom. Just as it took a while for my lilies to come to life it will take me some time to realize my own beauty. But the thing is I have to work on me everyday and keep in the back of my mind that I am working on my long term goal one day at a time. I know that I am beautiful now both inside and out but I also know that I have untouched potential. With love and care that potential will be realized. You know what? We all have untouched potential!! All we have to do is love ourselves and work one day at a time and the possibilities are unlimited!!!
Snow Angels stand tall and be proud of who you are today and know that you are working toward that untouched potential. Wow what a plan!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well I am now more than ready to start my day!! Sleep has cleared from my head and I feel wonderful!! Yesterday is over and gone so now I focus on the next 24 hours!! These are the things I will accomplish:
1. Stay on my progam.
2. Drink 64 oz of water.
3. Rest my back another day so no exercises
4. Wear my little gold angel pin and remember what it symbolizes. ( For me it symbolizes a plan and a promise.)
5. Say hello to at least 2 strangers and ask them how they are and and mean it!!
6. Be proud of all I accomplish today-take pride in me!!!
7. Take 30 minutes of "me" time!!
So now my day has some goals in it and I am now READY to get on with the day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How about you?? Do you have your goals ready? Are they achievable goals? Well Snow Angels let's do it!! No matter if you get thrown a curve ball today you will succeed!! I will succeed because I want to and I PLAN to!!!!!!!!! Just do it!!!!:coach: One step at a
time!!:cheer: :cheer: Going for the Gold!!!
Have a wonderful day!
Love and Hugs,
Lizzie
Blondee49 06-27-02, 11:25 AM Hi there Lizzie and angels on the way in from various parts!
What a WONDERFUL way to start the day!!
I am in awe of the wonderful blessings that are ours daily! You are truly enjoying the fruits of your labor in your beautiful lilies! ENJOY to the fullest!
I'm ready to tackle a new day with renewed commitment to my daily four.
1) get my 100 0z of water.....all of it!
2) get some exercise: goal for the week 12 miles (down 6.75!)
3) EAT AT THE TABLE BRENDA! (this is a major one!)
4) Plan my meals.
Have a wonderful day everyone!
Hello angels - I am having a great morning and I hope you all are too. Have recovered from the shock of yesterday's weigh-in. It just makes me more determined!!!
This morning I got to the gym for 35 minutes on the treadmill with intervals (alternating every two minutes by adding speed and inclines) and 2 sets each of lower body weight training machines. I am a little tired, but a good kind of tired.
Today's goals: (1) drink 64 oz water (2) take a short walk after work today (3) not eat too much at my mom's house tonight (dh is going over there to help her with some house stuff and she is cooking us dinner).
BTW - Lizzie - my tiger lilies are up too and they spread all along my back fence. I just ADORE them. I have a bit of a black thumb. I can't make anything grow. BUT, when I bought my house, the lady who previously owned it had already planted a lot of perennials and I am still enjoying them year after year with no effort on my part. I am a lucky girl :)
Hi Everyone,
How is everyone doign today? Well I'm ready to have a great day today. I woke up feeling postive about myself and that postive feeling is going to last all day. Here are my goals for today
1. stay within my daily points
2. drink 4 liters of water
3. get my room picked up
4. organize the suff in my cubboard in the kitchen
Have a great day everyone!
canadian_snow 06-27-02, 01:41 PM Hello Snow Angels
Although I'm feeling good, the weather is trying to contest with me. It's all rain, and cool out today, and is supposed to remain that way all through the long weekend till Canada Day. Sigh. But life will go on, and I'm ready for it.
Went to the beach last night and had glorious fun running though the sand playing football. Not that I ran a whole lot, but you get the drift.
so today, I'm going to exersice
drink my water
try not to spend any money
and keep a positive attitude.
take care today angels

ellantehalima 06-27-02, 02:23 PM Good morning everyone.
Cori I would love to have some of that cool weather. It was in the 100s yesterday and only got down to the high 70s last night. They are saying that it should cool down by this weekend so I am really hoping it does. It was so warm yesterday I didn't feel like doing anything and didn't get in my normal walk. I did get in my cardio last night I took a fan and had it blowing on me while I exercised and it felt so good.:D One good thing about the heat is I had no problem drinking all my water in fact I drank about 120 oz.
Lizzie I love reading your posts, they are so motivational.
 Here's to everybody for setting goals and sticking to them. Everybody have a great day.
ajmarble 06-27-02, 02:40 PM Hello everyone!! What a great day!! I got a whoosh of humidity when I opened the door this morning. Another hot one today I guess. I am already done with my exercise...I got a late start this morning too! I woke up at 9:15...I haven't slept in that late in a long time. I told myself...you deserve to do that because you have been working so hard with exercising, and are doing well. So, I guess you could say that was my little pat on the back, or reward to myself. Hehe...I just got through with breakfast about 45 minutes ago, so, I will probably have lunch a little later this afternoon. I have water aerobics tonight!!! YEAH!! I love it! I can already see a difference in my arms and legs just after about a week and a half, from exercise and water aerobics. AWESOME!
GOALS FOR TODAY........
1. Get a few groceries at the store.
2. Exercise 2 hrs....1 down ...1 to go.
3. Clean up the house...company is coming tomorrow.
4. Drink at least 96 oz. of water...Yesterday I had 138 oz. woohoo
5. Write in my journal....and take some "ME" time.
6. Try and finish mowing the lawn....I got eaten alive last night by
mosquitos, so I only got half of it done.
I have a long day ahead, so I guess I better get a move on.
HAVE A WONDERFUL DAY SNOW ANGELS........KEEP IT UP!!!!!!!!!.
AJ
sandielynne 06-27-02, 03:47 PM  Happy Wonderful Day 9 to Everyone! ! !
I didn't make it here in the morning, but I did make it. They are calling for rain here today, but so far it has been just great. The sun has been shining most of the day so far, but adding to that is the humidity is down and there is a wonderful breeze blowing outside. I have all the windows open, and it's just perfect.
My goals for today:
#1 Walk on my treadmil
#2 Weeding in my flower bed
#3 Watch what I eat and how much
#4 Make the most of my day
Take care Snow Angels........Enjoy!~Enjoy!~Enjoy!

dougchris 06-27-02, 04:02 PM My one and only goal for today is to stay within my points range! I seem to have a problem with this. I dont have a problem drinking my water and I dont have a problem getting daily exercise. But I have a BIG problem with my points. SO..that is my goal. Seems we are in for some severe storms here so i can not get my exercise in by doing my weeding and mulching as planned, so I will ride my bike for 30-60 minutes.
You all have a great day!!!!!!
Minnie mouse 06-27-02, 04:18 PM Hello Snow angels. sorry i didnt get here this morning but day is hectic. we had baby birds born in a nest high on the porch. 5 to be exact and i went outside and one fell out of the nest. i was hysterical. its alive so without touching it i put it into an aquarium we had for little animals till my husband gets home. i hope it lives. i am so upset about this. i've been checking on the birds every day for 2 weeks now.
welli cleaned today, talked to my mom, took care of kids, did laundry but didnt get on bike YET! i will though sometime here soon. i drank alot of water and am eating pretty lightly. i need to at least make my minimum points today but its so hot i dont feel like eating even though i feel hungry.
i had ww weigh in today and am same as yesterday so i lost 2.5 for the week. making me down 32.5 pounds in 12 weeks. very proud of myself.
I think i am gonna keep my weigh day the same and report my losses here on thursday mornings if its ok cuz its too much of a hassle to keep track of 2 weigh days. hope its ok. i saw others were doing that too. i think its easier for me.
I am almost in the 180's. i should hit it next weigh in. that number i havent seen in years so it will be quite exciting and a milemarker for me.
well my positives for today are
1. drinking all my water
2.eat within my points
3. tell kids and hubby i love them
4. ride my bike
5. and relax tonight after work
well have a good day all!
Blondee49 06-27-02, 05:15 PM Sandy.....32.5 #! That's great!
I am ready for my scale to take a nose dive. Perhaps from the balcony into the pool?
Glad to see the rest of you here today. I got my nap in today, a 1.5 mile walk this morning, no hot tub time as someone was in it and I didn't wanna intrude. Got my shower and came home.
I've not gotten much work done today as my hiney's dragging. Guess I'll chill a bit, read some, haven't done that since last weekend and get some water down. I'm only 32 oz so far so need to get on the stick.
Take care all..............be good to you!

Ruthieb 06-27-02, 10:19 PM :violin: Hi Snow Angels, Sorry to say it is the same old song and dance...NO :lift: exercising today...But the :water: intake was good enough really don't know how much I can never remember:eek: Ruthieb
Holly Wood 06-27-02, 11:56 PM Hi Everyone! My Name is Holly Wood. I am new here and heard about this site from my best friend Michelene. I am interested in joining the Snow Angels on their Challenge to get to the goals by December 31st. My current weight is 228 lbs. My goal is to be 178 lbs by December 31st. I am a member of weight watchers and weigh in at WW every Monday. So it will be easy for me to check in here each monday with my new weight. I started out on my quest to loose weight at 247 pounds, lost about 10 pounds on my own, then joined WW 3 weeks ago and have lost another 9 pounds.
I look forward to talking to everyone and giving and getting all the support I can get.

canadian_snow 06-28-02, 01:04 AM Welcome to our little group Holly Wood, you'll find we are a great group, and very motivational.
Whenever I feel like snaking, I come here and read all about the wonderful things people are doing.
So far today I've done pretty good. Good on my water, eating well, just haven't quite made it to exercise yet. i'll get it done yet.
applied for another job today. sigh.. what a hassel. i only need one person to take a chance on me grrrrr. anyway...
till tomorrow.

Blondee49 06-28-02, 08:21 AM Hi all!
Welcome Holly! This is a great place to be and I believe we will all make the very best of the REST of this year. We have 6 great months to look forward to and each day brings new opprtunities our way.
CONGRATS on 19 # down already!!! I've considered joining WW or TOPS or something to get the group support, meet new folks, make some friends and perhaps further commit myself to my program.
Ruthieb.........I empathize with you on the:ex: ! Is everything else OK with you? Are you feeling well etc.? How about your schedule? It's difficult to get started when you're drained physically or emotionally, as we all know. Cutting aside even 10 minutes a day for just you will make a difference.
I have to drag my whiny butt out of here just about every time I go when I'd rather not even get dressed. I figure if I MAKE me go enough, I'll eventually WANT to!
Making a mini-challenge is helping me too, tho some aspects are hard for me! TV eating has been such a comfort to me forever and I'm having a real struggle with that. BUT......I don't believe it's impossible to change!
Today I will:
1) DRINK my water!
2) Eat at the table
3) Plan my meals
4) Get some exercise
I will continue with these until they are no longer goals but habits!
Have a great day everyone!!
I'll catch ya on the new thread later!
Brenda

Luci,
Are those very tall lilies with the orange blooms called tiger lilies? I have so many different kids of lilies and forgot which was which.
These are about 5 feet tall and beautiful. I see them growing wild in the country and some parts of town.
Wow you are doing super on your program and goals.!! Good for you!! Yes I would say you are lucky to already have flowers planted. When DH and I bought this house about 35 years ago there wasn't a blade of grass or one bush or flower anywhere on the property. We sure have made some changes!! Flowers everywhere!!

Snow Angels ,
You all have inspired me to stay with the program and stay active.
I love reading about your day and like seeing you amking progress. What a super bunch of folks!! You are awesome!!!!
Take care,
Love and hugs,
Lizzie
Lizzie - I do believe the lillies we are talking about are tiger lillies. I just love them too and they seem to be everywhere.
