July 3rd

Changed passwords and somehow can't seem to journal in my old journal. Got fireworks and had brocolli salad and half smoked turkey sandwich for a late lunch. So hot feel in need of a nap. The gym was hot before doing the 9 miles on the bike and weights. We (me and Phillip, my son) stay there just over an hr.

Supper

Not sure but feel too hot right now to eat heavy.
Think a salad and tomatoes will do.
Yogurt possibly for dessert

Stripped the bed and got linens in the dryer and quilt in the washer waiting its turn.
Think I am going to lie down for a short nap with a slight headache----probably due to running around in heat and humidity.

Check in later.

Got up early enough to get a bath and start a load of clothes before getting online. Found an email from an old internet buddy who no longer took the time to talk to me for months on end. It is odd how our perception of a situation is different.

He felt I was ignoring him. He states he cares about me. He states he can never find me online.

I read his statements and pondered, are there so many aspects of my life where my perception is so different from reality.

In this particular case, I think it takes a certain amt of work or committment to maintain an internet friendship. Like many times I peek into different people journal and have felt the comraderie of that person and shared experiences. But I know I can't commit the time to develop a deep friendship with them. So I often leave a smile or word of cheer and in my heart am gladden by their success.

So today I answered his email, knowing he will respond for a day or two and in time the lack of effort will show in our relationship.

Is the LACK OF EFFORT showing in your weight loss, if you stand back and evaluate it critically, are you giving yourself your best?

I know this is wordy today. But this commitment to a lifestyle change is giving yourself the gift of what is best for you. This morning I woke and felt this incredible need to do what I needed done. How often do we do what we really need ?

Today is a gift. Friends are gifts. Making choices that make us proud of who we are, these are the actions that lead to happiness.

So much for self reflection

Breakfast:

yogurt and grapenuts
coffee
water

Lunch

Leftover brocolli salad

Dinner

Sloppy joe
Cantelope
strawberry shortcake

I may add a salad in there for am planning a late meal with a friend.

Better scoot and get my day started.

Weighed at the gym yesterday 224, which if accurate is an 18 lb lost. Just seems big jumps, and makes me doubt the accuracy. Will try to get into the gym on Monday and weigh, and workout.

Focussing one day at a time,

Donna

I should be moving and shaking and instead went out into the humidity and came home ready to nap. Think I need to get some allergy med. I seem to get a headache every time I go out in the humidity.

All kinds of things wrong with me food wise

Skipped breakfast

Ate large lunch of salad and tomatoes with orange vinegarette drsg

Cottage cheeese

Planning to go to Angie's in a little over an hr. The nap I had didn't shake his headache. Really is a pain.

As for going back to my old journal, it won't happen. I am a computer zero and can't remember the password. And as with time, we can't recapture and hang onto time or those feelings. We pass thru them and hopefully learn from them but don't dwell in them. If we continue to do wwhat we have done, we will get the results of the past.

So for today, going to enjoy my friends on the 4th and watch my son 's excitement as her husband lights his fireworks.

Hope the same for you,

hello! wanted to say hello before work and 18 pounds is alot to be proud of.
i also get headaches from the heat.
at least its cooler today and it feels good too.
well have a good fiday!

mdonna612

Minnie, not sure I trust that last weight. If it is accurate am losing in clumps and doesn't make sense.

Supper

sloppy joe
handful of chips
small scoop of potato salad
1.5 devil eggs
strawberry shortcake
5 M&Ms
1 bag of lite popcorn

Looks excessive except only had a large salad all day and forgot the 2 biscuits I took from my son's lunch---made him breakfast food for lunch. Not crazy about potato salad but my friend Angie's mother in law made it and had to have some to be polite. Actually was hungry after the whole thing was over and made the popcorn---maybe yogurt would have been a better option.

Breakfast

Yogurt and grapenuts

Lunch

Broccoli salad leftover
Maybe regular salad with yummy tomatoes

Supper

Not sure
Made up chicken thighs in oven like making a stock, and deboned the meat and put in fridge to defat it. Would make great bbq or taco meat but my son isn't crazy about either. May just heat some of the plain chicken up and make some stove top stuffing and veggies, Need to plan for tonight's 12 shift.

Or could just eat out and that would get my son's rave reviews. As always would enjoy having salmon from our favorite steakhouse.

Had a wonderful 4th at Angie's and her husband is going back to work after having been on strike. Sounds like they won very little but workers were crossing the picket line to return to work after being off 8 weeks and fearful that the new contract would be recended if they didn't accept it and return.

Better scoot and check out some of DT before starting my day.

Focussing,

Hey Donna:wave: --- love this little guy

Thought I would drop in and nose around your journal a bit. Actually, I took you up on your invite. Would you PM me your recipe for the broccoli salad? Peanut Brittle and I would be thrilled, since both of us love those little trees :)

Had to take Peanut Brittle plus the other 2 in tow to the doctors today. Peanut Brittle came down with a rash that the Dr. said was caused by brushing up against something in the woods she is allergic to. I think it is one of the vines that is hanging out of the trees, because she has it on the back of her neck. Of course she had to scratch at it as well, so now it is slightly infected. Oh, and I found out today that I will not be sweatn' with Richard or shimmying with the bellydancers for at least 2 months. The doctor said I will pay the price if I do.

Boy, it seems like more and more stressors have been thrown my way since I started my journey towards a healthier lifestyle... definitely not a good thing when you are an emotional eaterX-( :c( Oh well, it will make me a stronger person in the long run.

Oh, and yes I cleaned out my PM box. Problem is I have received so many special ones that I like to read from time to time (reflections) The mailboxes just don't hold enough.

July 6th

At work

3 graham crackers
tapicoa pudding with strawberries
broccoli salad with raisins
Handful of mustard pretzels
20 oz coke---regular
9 glasses of water
1 cup of coffee

That is 12 hr worth.

Headed for bed and am clueless what dinner will be----frozen pizza or canned soup. All the same to me.

Have to get to bed----another 12 hr in front of me.

July 7th

Well foodwise am not proud

Ate the rest of the pretzels this morning before going to bed
tapioca pudding
small salad
soup
brocolli salad with oyster crackers
and a roll of Ritz crackers

Just too many carbs

Haven't eaten today since getting off work, went to bed on a stomach full of pretzel so woke not hungry but have had about 50 oz of water while reading my book in the sun.

Headed out for seafood for that boy of mine, I'll get some kid's chicken strip basket----2 sm strips of breaded white meat and salad and breadstick, he'll get the 16 butterfly shrimp basket thing with rice salad and breadstick and maybe 2 pieces of extra fish. We go there often. Am hungry been 10 hr since I ate.

So off comes the swimsuit and on the shorts and out the door. The book was great. Don't often take the time to read but am beat and allow indulges on the Sunday after I work those 2 12 hr shifts. I just wonder why I feel I have to allow myself an indulgence----why isn't it second nature just to enjoy myself and not have it based around food.

Working on focus,

Hope you and phil had a good dinner out ! I hope i get to join you guys one day.... I L O V E seafood and salmon ...and I know what I can make you for dinner if you ever take a wrong turn and find yourself way north hahahah

What kind of books do you like to read? My fav author is John Irving... I like to read but find I need a peaceful feeling to lose myslf in a book... one of those things I should just do too! I keep my magazines and thumb away....

I am glad you are going change your schedule... I think you and your boy both will feel better... I know my 4 days off are not like a whole big thing as it takes a couple days just to recoup.. I wonder how the M-F will be...would be wonderful except my mother has decided she needs to visit... of course what she needs takes priority over anything me or my sis might need right? shesh.. she told my sis she wants to stay till august... just when I thought I might be able to get in a routine... after giving my all the last two yrs to my older sis..I am spent.. I did tell my mom that it is not her(had my fingers crossed hahahah).. I just plain old need time
I reminded her that she and my younger sis are closer than she or I could ever be, I am independantand that wont change.. so told her to enjoy her time w my younger sis and I would pick her up for an over nighter on the weekend... yup Donna... spent a lot of my days off looking at a map and trying to find timbuktoo lol wonder if they need chefs there?? lol

so... will try to not get too stressed out... might have to get you to pick up the peices and hold me together..I sure dont want to take any steps back right now

I hope you have a great week

one day at a time buddy

Phil opted for fried fish instead of the butterfly shrimp

2 sm child size chicken strips
1 salad with ranch drsg
1 baked potato
1 breadstick
4 cubes of cheese

Not full in the least but again when tired it is hard for me to know the difference between hunger and eating to stay awake. Though I can say for sure am not full. Maybe a yogurt and grapenuts or some cauliflower.

Pengii, I love my oldest sister with my heart but she is very stressful to have stay with me more than a day or two. But I live a hundred miles from her and when she is here she is here to visit me and me alone.
:D

Some of us are just lucky.

Got up so late fiddle farted for a while and then cooked spaghetti for lunch. Not what I had planned but Phillip seemed to enjoy it.

Dinner

salad with tomatoes
and fixing Phillip some ribeye steak

Have to go to the store for am out of milk. How that could be is had to understand----seems I only go to grocery daily.

Got to go out, Phillip isn't wanting to go to the gym. Actually I'm not either.

Yes, it hurt my conscience a second to confess it. Unlike Luci, after 2 years I still hate going to the gym.

Got the mess with the bank straightened out.

Going to check out some of DT.

Just realize that July 7th posted 3 times----but am clueless how to delete the extra entries. I must have been tired.

Ate a pudding at work
20 oz regular coke
a kazillion glasses of waterr
1 cup coffee

I'm hungry and maybe I honestly am feeling hunger pangs. Maybe need to try to eat a yogurt.

Headed for bed and will decide upon arising/or resurrecting what to eat and do.

Just too tired to focus this instant.

nectarine
32 oz water

Couldn't sleep for thinking of this young pt that was dying at the hospital. Slept when daylight was already breaking and woke with a sick headache and slight nausea.

Lunch

chinese brocolli and general pao chicken
3 bowl of hot and sour soup
2 eggrolls
small dish of vanilla soft serve with strawberries

Dinner

2 sweet rolls ---cinnamon kind

No, not foccussing at all, not way overboard either. Got a case of diarrhea after eating Chinese and wonder if I have some 24 hr bug. Anyway, plan to go to the gym after trying for a nap. Phillip said he would go late night and I need to try to get rid of this crappy headache. Cool front suppose to go thru and maybe with less humidity the headaches won't be there upon rising.

Will work on focus the next meal,

Donna:wave:

07-11-02, 10:38 AM
Late night snack

mustard pretzels

Breakfast

yogurt and grapenuts
2 nectarines

Lunch

Salad with tomatoes

Supper

last of the chicken and mashed potatoes, cauliflower

Need to get busy on my day. Promised my son to go to the pool, my desire not his. But don't want to go on vacation a pale face and want to head for the gym now and store. Come home and go to the pool with kiddo, phil. And then back to the gym with the buddy Phil. I know twice in one day but am behind in going to the gym. Really didn't feel good yesterday and should have went. So off today on a run.

Have a great day. Need to get something out of the freezer for the bud for supper. He had chicken and mashed potatoes last night and will want something different tonight.

July 11th

Ate according to plan just too much chicken and potatoes. Comfort food and don't fix it very often and so seems extra special and overate.

Was a beautiful day until the neighbor walked by and the pup charge up to him barking. She is 7 month old and doesn't have any social graces on how to greet people. Anyway going to have to get a shocker collar to stop this unsocial behavior. I thought she would be okay with us out in the yard with her. But it didn't change anything and the neighbor was yelling at me about the dog chasing him. You can't make them try to make friends with her and you can't blame them for being afraid of her. She is all black with a black tongue, and her snow white full set of teeth look fierce.

Actually she is timid and wouldn't get close enough to bite but he doesn't know that. She run out barking thinking everyone wants to meet and greet her. So shocker collar it is. Was hoping she outgrow that behavior.

Better scoot. Got dishes to do and tons of other stuff house wise. First to check out shocker collars.

I read someone saying they love their journal and though I see it as a vehicle, there isn't a love. I see me going thru a shift. I went out to eat for lunch for the first time in awhile----just by myself, Chinese, an old favorite and came out not relishing the meal. Actually overate but not like before----not to the point of stuffed. Just ate more than I needed.

So passed the resturarant yesterday and didn't think how much I enjoyed it. I just thought it used to be better. Or was it me? Did I judge it differently cause I am different? Not sure, for I still enjoy not being the chef and going out to eat. Going out today for salmon at a steakhouse in a couple of hours. But just it wasn't getting my money's worth I was thinking about or trying a few more things off the buffet---instead have been thinking what selections am I going to have to enjoy the meal but not over do it.
I suspect I'll eat more than I need to but am trying to focus on eating appropriately and not till destruction.

Know that isn't exciting but my son made pizza and the leftovers are calling me. So am drinking water and planning to go outside and work on my lawn cushions----the ones I procrastinate in finishing and keep me feeling regretful----seeing the bolt of material and yet knowing the cushions aren't quite finished.

So am scooting.

clueless, probably salad, have the makings

Work was tiring and am uncertain of supper. Probably take Phillip to have seafood, his fav. If so, then will have kids meal chicken with salad and roll. Just too tired to really think about it.

Headed for bed. It's a cloudy hazy day, rained last night and there is a fog lingering low to the ground.

Not sure what the day will bring. Hopefully will sleep.

Marching right back into focus. I binged last night late. It is just a very vunerable time, being tired and late. I know it and you would think I want to be obese forever.

So trying to forgive myself and start a new day. A new focus.

Got on ebay, and that is another behavior I want to stop, compulsive shopping. Shopping for things I don't need now. Yes, I know the need many come up but I have no need for that item now.

Anyway I feell the failure this morning, hang on getting the coffee.
Bought some upholstery fabric without a project to use it on. I am a mess.

Breakfast

yogurt with grapenuts
nectarine

Lunch

salad with yummy tomatoes

Dinner

Pasta topped with cheese

At least that is what I am thinking. May thaw out some chicken and pork chops and try grilling those. Pasta is easier and am still very tired from the weekend 12 hr shifts. Really will be glad to get off Mondays and work the 2 12 hr and off 5 days. Never had that kind of time off before.

Phillip has his first orthodontist appt tomorrow. Need to get to the bank today and need to go to the gym. Wanted to go to the swimming pool but can't wake up my sleepy kid.

Better scoot and check out some of DT for inspiration.

I think it's so great that he's interested in helping you lose weight. You're a lucky mom.

Hey Donna - you sound a bit tired in many of your posts. Are you getting enough sleep, enough nutrition in your meal plans (if not, maybe a multivitamin would help), enough exercise? I know there just never seems to be enough time in your day, but if you don't take care of yourself you won't be able to take care of anybody else either. Ok. Lecture ended, just a little concerned.

Luci

July 15

Losinit, I WON! just it was kinda a hollow victory for my son was so sure he won and took him to the dr so they could record his success and he had gained 2 lb. He was so downcast but paid up his $50 and Steve paid up his $50 but all I did with it was get groceries and pay bills. Promise myself to go slurge on a weedeater but never made it to the store. I thought my son had one but never would have taken him to the dr office just to be weighed in except to show off his success. The dr knew we were working out---and his gain could have been muscle mass.

Luci, work 33 hr in 3 out of 4 nights so yes, am borderline fatigued. Can't seem to recoup and fear my posts aren't upbeat on the weekends. I seem to use the time to run my kid----like today, got off work at 9 am with a nurses meeting and went to bed about 10:30 am and up at 2:15 pm for the orthodontist appt. Amt to less than 4 hr sleep. Ran to the orthodontist and afterward treated for dinner out at Golden Corral. It was it's 2nd day opened and ate too much----oddly not piggy like, just more than necessary. Went to the library with Phillip, then to the store (no milk or eggs) then homeward bound.

Nutrition is always low on protein. Though did eat a small steak today. Eat lots of veggies and fruit. Protein is hard for me for have lost the taste for most meat.

Dinner
Steak
lots of broccoli salad
3 cherry tomatoes
2 rolls with butter
2 little shrimps
couple bites of: potatoe and gravy, stuffing, and banana nut bread
sherbet
carrot cake

Know my sister wouldn't think I got my money's worth. They had all kinds of sweets---oh forgot 2 bites of a too sweet lemon tart, a fav if kinda tart and not sweet.

They offered all kind of meat. But if wasn't feeling uncomfortable with what I had, I would have opted for fresh pineapple. We left plates on the table and my son opted for a couple bites of banana nut bread and 2 sherbets. Then he told me stories of some online site where this guy tells story of his life thru his eyes---my son thinks he is a hoot.

Best part was my son all animated and excited over repeating this man's antics in Blockbuster or playing lego. No, the stories aren't so funny but my son wanting to share them with me was special to this overly tired nurse that hasn't had time to spend with her kid on the weekends.

I am gonna scoot and check out DT. No, never made it to the gym but after being at the hospital 35 hr in 3 days I am not wagging my tail.

Haven't weighed in 2 weeks.

So no success to report, hope to be reading everyone's elses.

I think it is a measure of success posting each day !!

Like CJ said in her journal..it is not an all or nothing thing... you keep posting, and doing things that are changes... small changes maybe to you but they all add up to the big ones eventually

even with running yourself ragged each weekend

you monitor your food intake..and fess up when you know you have slipped... life is one big series of slips sometimes....keeps it interesting, although maybe frustrating ..depends how we look at it huh lol

you do a zillion things... included in that is share so much love and support with those around you

if ya got to let the frustrations out here... hey baby!! let em fly!! lol I have learned well from you how to give and share support again lol

anyhow

I had a couple good days and am dam glad for that... was just keeping my head afloat mood wise... but again.. I guess that is part of the process huh

thanks for all your help... I dont think this old girl would be smiling today with out you

and I am smiling...sleepy but smiling

hope you and junior are too!! (the smiling part!)

no new news on the job front but I will keep ya posted as always !!

enjoy your days off !!!

a nice sit back in the yard..... you deserve it for sure !!

luv ya tons!!!

talk to you tomorrow

Breakfast
yogurt with grapenuts

Lunch

Salad with tomatoes

Dinner

clueless, have some pork chops thawed for the bud but for me, am unclear.

The sleeping pills I took have me hung over so think the best I can do for me is try to sleep them off. But 4 am came and no sleep and so had to do something.

Will give and look for motivation later.

July 17

Got to the gym and then to grocery with the bud. What a mistake. Any how have fruit gala at my house. Got to cut up a melon that got cracked being brought in.

Kinda missed lunch but may have a salad later.

Dinner
pork chop, yes I ate one
1 cup stuffing
1 red pepper and some cauliflower in ranch drsg

Not full not hungry. This hung over feeling lingers. So my busy day will have to be tomorrow. Going to work on some dishes later and maybe laundry but the vacuum and dusting will have to be on hold. Took some tylenol but think the sleeping pills will have to just wear off over time.

Increased my repetition or weight in all but one piece of equipment and if shopping for over an hr counts, then didn't do bad. Actually am surprised the pork chop tasted good to me. Grilled it after marinating them in teriyaki.

Going to scoot to check out some of DT.

Hey there buddy don't be so hard on yourself!!! Shopping most definately counts!!!!!!!! Fruit is not a bad thing to have in the house at all!!!!!!! I'd be worried if you said you couldn't get your head out of a bag from McDonalds or a box of donuts but you are talking sense here!!!! Fruit is not the enemy. Yes if you aren't drinking enough fluids it will cause you to retain fluids but you would ANYWAY if you weren't drinking enough fluids so as long as you stay hydrated you should be just fine. Look at me I've lost 22 pounds in almost 3 months and I'm eating fruit at breakfast, a yogurt and a piece of fruit at lunch and a piece at dinner and two or three for desert. so on an average day I eat between 5-6 pieces of fruit a day and I say it's better than carrot cake or ice cream! Sure veges are better for you to snack on but I'm sorry plain veggees don't satisfy me I end up drowning them in high fat ranch dressing and then I'm getting too much fat. I'd rather have a few more calories and no fat at least it's working for me.
You have a fantastic day now!:rose:

Confessing late night piggy act over some pudding. Self sabatoge after being so focussed all day. So started my day today with coffee and water, and pondering why this committment to my eating plan is so difficult. Always night time eating. I made it to the gym and feed the dog the leftover stuffing so didn't over do after getting my serving, knowing carbs are a weakness of mine.

Weighed at the gym and was the same 235---7lb loss since Feb. Not to brag, just maintaining. Yet I come here and plan and then lose it late night. Have to get some alternative activities to counter these late night munchies.

Breakfast

Coffee
Water
1/2 cup cantelope

Early lunch

Salad and tomatoes, sweet onion

Snack

yogurt with grapenuts maybe

Dinner

not sure exactly----got roast thawing for the Phillip, some roast potatoes, and raw cauliflower

Plan some roast potatoe and maybe chicken strip, could be slice of roast, some raw cauliflower and kinda have a taste for pasta salad

Gonna work on the pink bedroom, which we use as storage to sort it and maybe start boxing up Christmas presents. Long story but buy Christmas all year round and think am done shopping for Christmas but is in a bunch of bags in the pink bedroom which is actually silver blue now. When I moved in it was bubblegum pink and had it painted but always refer to it as the pink bedroom. Told you am compulsive. My sister makes out like a bandit cause keep finding things for her for Christmas. Made her a centerpiece that turned out beautiful and have a fiber optic Angel for her. And by Christmas I am sure I will have found another something for her. Will try to save it for her birthday but am terrible at this.

If anyone has a site for crockpot cooking. I am thinking of purchasing a crockpot. Everyone at work tells me it would save me time---never cooked with one before.
So could use the site for some suggestions.

Got to run, and check out DT.

Donna,

I don't have a crockpot website, but you can look it up on google.com, just type in "crockpot recipes" in the search button and you'll come up with a bunch.

One that I tried (and loved) is fajita chicken.

Take 6 chicken breasts (boneless skinless)
Put them in the crockpot and cover with water
Add one packet of fajita or taco seasoning
Add one jar of salsa (spiced to fit your taste)

Cook on low heat all day

When you come home, take chicken out and flake into small pieces, place back in salsa mixture. Makes a great fajita filling (along with lettuce, low fat sour cream, cheese, etc), or very good for the top of a taco salad. I made this for my family and they LOVED it. My MIL even asked me for the recipe, and it's SOOO easy.

Try not to worry so much at night, or maybe plan and portion out snacks for nighttime. That's always been my toughest too and if I have something to look forward to (like popcorn or a nice fruit salad) then I have my snack and I'm done. No more eating. I know it's not always that easy, but you could give it a shot!

:cheer: You can do it!!!

*hugs*

Donna,

What a thrill it was to finally put a face with the name! I'm to chicken to do that plus DH would kill me if I did. It's a major safety issue with him.

As for the crock pot, I give it   Even though I am a stay at home mom and could just whip something up, I use mine all the time. I think you will love it. Here's a bit of advice though. Get the largest OVAL shaped one you can find. It is rather difficult to fit a nice size chicken or a roast into the round ones. I've learned from experience. I'm actually on to my second one. Before kids when I worked full time I used my old one at least 4 times a week. Would put something on in the morning before I would leave for work and by the time DH and I got home in the evening dinner was ready and waiting. Just had to dish it up. Used it soooo much that the heating element in it started to go out. Took 12 years of constant use to reach that point though. I now have a big oval one and life is sweet!

I have several wonderful recipes.... so many in fact that I will have to write them out and post them to you.

Now I've really got to run. I've been really bad.....PROCRASTINATION- ugh, it is going to kill me yet!

Hey Donna - I also have to fully endorse crockpot use. I think once you get into it you will really love it since it is so easy and a MAJOR timesaver (something you need).

BTW - CONGRATS on getting to the gym. Way to go.

Sending you lots of energy and patience to deal with your demanding schedule. :)

July 18th

Bought one---crockpot that is but is round at the advise of some woman at the super Walmart who said she can get more in her round one----it's 6 quarts, so surely that is big enough. Now Luci and Kiddo you must send the easiest receipe. Have only cooked in the oven with an old cast aluminum bean pan FOREVER. I'll bring over the entree but you can't keep my pan. Spaghetti to roast to small turkey have been cooked in that pan. It is scrubbed clean but looks very seasoned about over 20 years of cooking in it. No easy clean but know how to cook in it.

Kiddo the pic is about 7 years old and when about 20 lb lighter. The big eye thing is the same, and with Miss Clairol, bless her, I have about the same color hair.

Luci, headed for the gym when I get off here.

Am in need of a nap before hitting the pink bedroom.

Will peek in later, made bacon sandwiches for my son and had a salad with onions, tomatoe and 1.5 piece of bacon and then a scoop of cottage cheese.

Puppy got sick all over my rug. Just doesn't seem to be flowing today.

Peek back later.

hows your day going so far?

the crockpot sounds good... my sis loves hers...uses it for so much!!

www.recipesource.com will hve some recipes too... again just type crockpot into search engine there

back when i was trying to get started on making some changes..i did the same thing...late nights were the worst and seemed hopeless.. everything pointed to having to eat much more for breakie and lunch and snacks... of course that seemed difficult as I was not hungry during day, esp in morning as I ate so dam late... so just made myself start eating breakie, lunch etc and good ones

wasnt what I wanted to do... but... you know you have to change some things if you expect chnage in your body.... otherwise... not much will be different

so maybe you should make yourself have more food during day...your cals through day always seem pretty low

your horse cereal and yogurt is a great way to start the day ! keep slipping fruit snacks in... and maybe try a bigger lunch... fibre is very important too... it seemed i just did not want the snacks as much at night after that... then i just had to work on the habit...not the hunger

little steps

anyhow... might be worth a shot

I had a pink room in my house too... as well as lime green, bright green baseboards ... shesh... maybe the last owners were color blind lol

anyhow...have to go find some new work pants...finally wore these old ones out

last thing i need is my ass hanging out at work hahahah scary thought huh lol

hope you had a nice day to enjoy over there

will catch up with you later

ps...will ask my sis to send me some of her recipes for you

July 18th

Thanks Monica for the receipes, I have never used this crockpot before and am a little anxious to use it for my old favorites. Got roast in my cast aluminum pan right now in the oven. I know, I know, these crockpots are suppose to make super roast. I just am not very modernized. Had a food processor and still do, but have never assembled it. Gosh, it seems like I have STUPID on my forehead. Just always cut up everything by hand and never know what I am suppose to use it for.

Pengii, think I eat plenty. Had cantelope for a snack and a second salad after my early lunch cause was hungry. Got roast in the oven with potatoe but the meat doesn't appeal. Am thinking of another salad or making some pasta salad. Kinda wanted some alfredo noodle veggies----but got a touch of a headache I can't kick, and know it's the humidity. Been spitting rain off and on, and in the 90s. Haven't ventured into the pink room yet.
Took a short nap after the gym and then got up and put on the roast. My son of course is starved smelling the roast baking.

So dinner is up for grabs. It's late anyway.

Gonna check out some of DT.

Trying to focus, not to eat late.

Donna,

I don't know how you do it! You don't seem to ever get enough sleep! When's the last time you had a good "night's" sleep? I usually only get 4-5 hours a night, but then one night a week I will conk out and get 7-8 hours straight. Works for me! I don't think I could work the night shift, though. Those 12 hours shifts sound killer!

Try to take good care of yourself, and get your protein in. You'll need it!

Have a great weekend,

Worked my 2 12 hr and have only Monday night to go. Missed posting yesterday. Food wasn't bad or anything. Just busy.

Last night
3 crackers
Chips and dip,
2 spoonfuls of pudding
2 cup coffee
9 cup water
16 oz regular soda

Don't usually eat chips and gave me an upset stomach, so bought a pudding but just made it worst. So took a prevacid pill and drank water.

This morning

Pasta salad

The rest of the day I really don't know---probably take Phil out to eat for seafood. Maybe a movie. Working 24 out of 48 hr has me tuckered.

Gotta scoot.

Finally fell asleep about 6 am and so slept until 11:40 am this morning.

By the time I tumbled out of bed all grumby according to my kiddo, then was so late, headed for a bath. Then call the vet about the pup, and headed for the gym. Home to fix supper and got a sink full of dishes. Told my son he needs to tackle them.

So food is way off.

Didn't eat till 5 pm and had some green bean with cheese, a potatoe, 2 oz of beef, and some cottage cheese.

Not full, not hungry but beyond tired still. So going to lie down before going to work. Want a salad but more tired than hungry.

Will check in later before work, if time permits.

July 23 Tues

Should be off but had a nurse at work with a mom in critical care who needed off tonight. I volunteered. Going to be dead after working 2-12 hr and then 2 -8 hr shifts. Nothing I can do about it. Told her she owed me big and I mean BIG.

So am off to bed.

Before going to work

Salad and cottage cheese

At work

vending machine bag of pretzel
2 coffees
1 lemonade
9 glasses of water
1 piece of hard candy

Promise my son to eat out as a treat and we will. Will let him pick once he gets me up. Would like to take him to see a movie or something before going to work again tonight. He sure hasn't seen me much.

Glad we made it to the gym yesterday.

Gotta get to bed,

Finally resurrected after taking some sleeping pills, took Phil out to eat---after going to the vet.

Lunch/Dinner---not sure, it's the only thing I've eaten today

salad with ranch drsg
2 child size chicken strips
fries
one breadstick

I ordered a child 's chicken strip dinner at Captain's D but added a salad, and lemon water but added sugar for more of a lemonade status. Would have used Equal had they had some.

Will probably have snack of nectarines.

Gonna lie down before going to work.

I really need to march off to bed. 2 12 hr shift then 2 8 hr shift and I am beyond reach, beyond the pending PMS, beyond caring that I'm hungry.

At before going to work

Nectarines
tortilla pizza

At work

1 diet soda
1 lemonade
9 glasses of water

Got home and had

1 breakfast thin grilled pork chop

Too tired to work on meal planning. My son wants to go to eat again. Gosh, I cook all the time for this kiddo and he has dreams of fast food dancing in his head.

If we go out then it's to a place with real food.

Gonna scoot off to bed.

July 25th

Ate some popcorn late night and got invited over for some birthday cake late---cut the side with the clumps of icing off.

No not great, but small steps. I felt so bad for the mom of the birthday girl, she is an older lady and friend that at one time lost over 100 lb and has gained about 80 or more back. Oddly she has gained it in the midrift whereas before she was shaped differently. My friend is so upset with herself but then last night she ate all this icing from the cake everyone was cutting away from their piece. I felt bad for her knowing she is out of control but also knowing only she can change that. Her husband that is 80 is having back surgery today and the stress is making her turn to food. Oddly he is a small man about 150 lb ---and they are adorable and loving couple. I prayed for him last night and maybe I should have prayed for her. I love them both as family. I was so tired last night, I would have never gone done there for cake had it not been that their daughter flew in to be with her dad from FL. She is expecting their first grandchild. Want to get a ham and bake it for them and help keep them from having to cook while he's in the hospital. Or maybe go to Arby's and get roast beef sandwiches. Not sure, offered to make a meal and thought about sending down my new unused crock pot with a roast or something. I hate to experiment with them. I am a zero when it comes to new gadgets. Gosh, I cook the old way with a cast aluminum pot. Never used a food processor or even my blender. Nor my new crockpot. Maybe need to go back and find Losinit recipe for chicken salsa or some such thing that sounded so yummy.

For today, I need to get to the bank and get some MONEY. Gosh, I never can seem to save. But it's my sister's birthday in a couple days and plan to send money. My oldest sister Pat is hard to buy for and seems I just take back whatever I purchase. So need to get a birthday card.

The vet bill was another unexpected expense and the gym's fees are due Aug 2. May just not renew until Sept ---for am going on vacation in Aug and school starts and so expenses will be up. Means no gym in August tho. Will ponder it.

Want to take Phillip to swim. I know I need to clean house but seems we haven't spent any time together this week with me working so much. Plan to cut my schedule once school starts. There is a poem about cobwebs go to sleep for babies don't keep. Maybe it's just a cop-out for lousy housekeepers but got up doing a load of clothes and taking out recycle and cutting up melons and taking out trash to the curb for trashman. Have only apples and cantelopes in the house and my son will need a fresh supply of fruit before going to work tomorrow. He wants me to grill some hamburgers, so will need the buns and stuff. Geeze, sounds like need groceries.

Breakfast

coffee and water
cantelope
yogurt and grapenuts

Lunch

Salad, need some yummy tomatoes

May make Phil some spaghetti or get those hamburgers

Supper

Gosh, am so tired maybe will do some chicken on the grill too. I am just not sure. If I don't cook for Phil for the weekend, he will eat junk or just cereal. Maybe a pea casserole.

Really my life is this simple----need to get to the gym today. Have to go to the library and return stuff. The day will get away from me before I know it.

Better scoot,

I get tired just reading your posts! Geez, you're always on the go! Thanks for visiting my journal, you're advice has been very welcome.

Sounds like you are making some good choices and that's great for you and your health.

Keep it up!
Losinit (I have other receipes as well.. in fact... one roast that is out of this world...)

Crockpot:

Brown a beef roast (rubbed with garlic salt, salt and pepper)
Put in crockpot with 3 cups of water, cut up onion, 3 garlic cloves and one package of lipton onion soup... you can add potatoes if you want a full meal.
Cook on low for 6-8 hours. Meat should just fall apart. Your neighbors will love it and it is *so* easy!

mdonna612
07-26-02, 12:24 AM
Dinner
cantelope for snack
Spaghetti
1/2 spanish rice
1/8 slice of blueberry pie

Made the neighbor the chicken salsa stuff and spanish rice and brought over blueberry pie. The elderly neighbor is very painful from surgery and in critical care. They hadn't eaten all day so it worked out great even if my kitchen is a mess. Going to bed and will do the dishes when I get up.

So not good today for too high in carbs. Not so much overeating just not the right combination.

Donna,

Just peeked back in. Hope your neighbor recovers well from his back surgery. My DH has had 2 of them..... both while in his 20's. The first one he had before we met and breezed right through the recovery. Second one took place right after we really started to grow close and we knew that we had something special in our relationship. That one didn't go so well. The surgeon came out and told us that he had messed up on the surgery, and that the outcome probably wouldn't be very good. We were told that DH would probably never walk again. By God's grace he proved the Dr. wrong. I think it was the trials we faced together after his surgery though that brought us to the point that we knew we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together.

OK, I'm babbling.... just wanted to let you know that I will pull as many of the good crock-pot recipes I've tried and send them off to you. Will try to do it tonight so they can get in the mail tomorrow before I leave on my special outing:o If not it will have to wait until Sunday or Monday. With your schedule, I'm sure your crock pot will become a trusty friend.

Reread the journal entry of yesterday and see I forgot 2 bagels I had for snacks. Gotta get honest. Was up until 6 am unable to sleep, did dishes and uniforms, and ate yet a 3rd bagel. And we wonder why the weight doesn't just melt off.

Can't get myself in gear this afternoon. It was noon before the sleeping pills wore off and aroused. Have to get ready to work in a little over 2 hr and feel I lost this day. It really is a type of hell to have insomnia, wake with sleeping pill hangover and yet I know I am lucky----have been where nothing I did let me sleep.

Confess am clueless about the meals today.

Gonna head for the store to get something to grill I think for my son. Had some coffee and water, bless Monica for the water.

had 3 small pieces of pizza
large salad with orange vingerette

At work for 12 hr

1 slice of cold pizza
2 small sandwhich of turkey and cheese---they're called bite size buns
water
coffee

1 tapicoca pudding

Food not bad, maybe low in protein and high in carbs. Proteins are hard.

Headed for bed. Phil can choose for supper. Work tomorrow night and asked the head nurse for a meeting Tues for my yearly eval. Not that I will get more money.

It comes with the territory yearly evaluation and this year I am voicing some of my feelings. Not as bravely as I should but I hate confrontation.

Donna, Just wanted you to know I read a few of your posts. You need to slow down! Wow you are so busy!

I saw in one post you have insomnia. I take a million and one vitamins, and I was awake until 2-3 am. Driving me crazy because I have little ones (6, 4, and 2) and they don't sleep in late! Well, I got a few more vitamins and since starting to take those I have been sleeping better-with no sleeping pill hangover. The new ones I am taking are flax seed oil (walmart) twice a day (one at breakfast, one before bed) and L-Tryosine once a day. Maybe you could look into vitamins that might help you sleep better. I know I have much more energy since starting on my vitamins!

I know it is hard, but we can do it! Keep up the good work! You are doing great!

Getting the last minute stuff---like the dog feeder thingie that holds 25 lb. My outside dog will go nuts with all that food available but doubt if even she can eat 25 lb of kibble in 4 days.

Got some cheapie shampoo for vacation, with a swimming pool at the hotel there is a constant showering and conditioning. My neice is a prima dona with the attitude of 3 showers a day. One after each entry into the pool and one at the end of the day to keep the stench away. She is size 5 and 5'9" and naturally silver blond hair. This time her boyfriend is coming, another teen. So have 3 teens and me, headed for Gatlinburg on the following Monday.

So got the feeder and new water container and hamhocks to let my friend Steve into the backyard with minimal effort to check on the dogs. Just hope our shar pei pup, Lindsey, survives the wild out of doors for 3 nights. It was leaving in the backyard or boarding her. Took her to my sister for a visit and she came home traumatized----she lost all her puppiness---you know puppy playfulness. She won't play with her toys and wouldn't eat for almost 3 day after coming back home. She still won't sleep with my son after coming home.

So she spend day hours outside with the other dog Annie who acts like a mom and licks and cleans on her. But fear that 3 nights outside may be as bad as boarding her. But she is very standoffish to any strangers---so not with strangers and having Annie as company seemed better than boarding her as I consider the options. My sister was going to take care of her but her daughter got a 1 pound chiwauwau---no can't spell. She is afraid my shar pei will hurt this little pup.

Anyway, having talked out some of my stress. But being a woman I will probably chew this cud over and over ---mauling it over trying to do the right thing.

At work

2 bite size sandwiches of ham and cheese and mustard
1 tapicoca pudding with strawberries
1 cup coffee
water

After work, nothing, ran to the grocery for the dog feeder at Super Walmart, and then to the bank to pay a fee. Came home and checked in on DT.

Lunch/Dinner

4 inch of a subway roast beef sanwich
1 large chile from Wendys
nectarine

My son had 2 subway sandwiches and took some bites. Am guessing the amt.

Am still not satisfied but feel its probably being tired vs real hunger.

Pengii, congrads on the new position. Answers to prayers and a great motivator. And the gym thrown in.

Got into last year shorts that I found too tight at the first of the summer. Not loose and wish they were just a bit less fitting but in no way cramped into them.

Have anxiety over vacationing, the puppy being outside for 3 days, the car not leaking antifreeze. Saw a pool under the car at a grocery store and couldn't decide if it was from my car---looked fresh. Gosh, then there's this bug infestation that is eating my junipers----a coccoon thing with a life sucking catepillar in it, draining the life out of my 7 yr old junipers.

Can't think of food.

Ate some candy is what sticks out 4-6 pieces.
Veggie soup
Diet Splash

That's all besides the hamburger at home. That's it for 24 hr.

It's the anxiety.

Can't foccus.

Am hungry now and ate lite yogurt and still feeling starved, and a bit nauseous.

Don't have any plans.

Had a yogurt and salad.

Thinking of another salad to use up the lettuce before driving off into the sunset.

Gosh, the melodramatics! I hate to drive and having 3 teens in the car for so many hours and being responsible for a GREAT vacation has me anxious to say the least.

Gonna be eating out the next 4 days and know it won't be the best but am telling myself to work on healthy selection. So it may not be perfect----doesn't mean it has to be a 4 day binge.

Gotta scoot.

Got back and am tired. Don't have time or energy to read DT but wanted to check in on my journal. Didn't binge, wasn't good but oddly wasn't that bad either.

Catch you in the morning.

Started a new thread when I meant to just add to my journal. Yes, vacationing makes me feeble minded. So if you are interested in my vacation see the new thread. Just basic vacationing stuff---exciting only to those who lived it.
Kinda you had to be there stuff but the vacation for 4 was under $450.00 so that was even better and spent 3 night in Gatlinburg and kids white water rafted , Dollywooded, and saw Dixie Stampede. Check out the new thread to hear about it.

Didn't binge but didn't eat good.

Breakfast

yogurt and grapenuts.

Rest I'm really not sure. Have to go to the grocery.

Scooting before going to work for one of those 12 hr shift.

Didn't post and so haven't maintained focus well.

Have a dentist appt in a few minutes and so can't type long.

Still in jet lag from vacationing ----luggage isn't put up and still doing the laundry. Probably was a mistake to NOT ask for time off the week I went to Galtlinburg.

Better scoot. Haven't time to read DT.

Hopefully will read about everyone's losses later this evening.

Miss Donna - you sound busy as ever!!! Hopefully things will calm down (relatively speaking of course) soon as the vacation tasks draw to a close.

Prognosis of my patient is very poor and there aren't enough bandaids to make this boo boo all better. There is a hurt in me seeing the change from a vital person to critically ill. No my overeating won't make them all better, but I feel starved. I want to escape into the food and forget the fever and pain I tried so hard to make go away. I see her dying before my eyes unable to change the outcome, remembering me teasing her and now she is unable to acknowledge who I am.

I am starved, the pain eats at me and I wish prays or kisses would make it go away----that emptiness I see in her eyes. She would gladly accept the pounds I want to lose, as she waste away before my eyes, telling me how full she is with just a couple bites.

I have no answers but this sense of raw emotion of failing to make it all better-----the contrast of just 10 days is dramatic.

Am wiped out and so headed for bed.

Oh Donna, I'm really sorry. I can't imagine how difficult that must be to be a part of. She is lucky to have such a caring nurse there by her side. I'm sure you are a great comfort to her.

Try not to be too overwhelmed and remember God is in control and all is right and happens in its good time.

Love and peace.

Well, haven't gotten out of my vacation mode yet. Fittle farted the day away and need to get my butt in gear.

Had some coffee so far.

Yep, not good but that's the truth. I just can't seem to focus. I know I need to eat but don't want good food. Sounds stupid as I type but if I don't eat the bad food then just haven't eaten today.

Time to get off the pot.

Plan pizza out for supper as a treat for my son but may make it pepperoni so I won't be tempted to eat it. Don't like those little spicy slices of grease.

Maybe not, but wanted to get my haircut but want to be home for his first day of school to hear how it went. Waited too long to go to the barber for that haircut or the grocery store. But there is this poem about dust go to sleep, for babies won't keep. And tho he is 5'11" he is still my baby and want to be home when he gets off the bus from school to hear how that first day went.

So for today: not sure.

Need to go to grocery for some fruit and would love to get my hair cut.

Will check in the fridge and see if there is some yogurt for yogurt and grapenuts. The breakfast/lunch of diet champions!

I need to go to the bank. Gosh, how the day got away from me.

Need to put up luggage and put away vacation crap.

Well, will start with putting laundry in the dryer and watching the clock for the 2:50 when the bus gets here. Going let the pup greet the bud.

Check back later

08-14-02, 04:07 PM
Luci

He was more excited over the dog creating him at the bus stop than me being home. She whined when she saw him jumping on him, overly excited to see her best friend. He's talking to me about it as I type, he is fixing corn on the cob for part of his dinner. And he said NO pizza. So will have to see.

Better scoot.

Ate Chinese out and realized the friend I treated to lunch has a birthday tomorrow. I am kinda sick to think I forgot it but I don't remember dates on anyone's birthday. Not my neices or nephews and yet this friend always makes mine a big deal. So called another friend of ours and hope to plan something with her. There are several things I have that I think she would like for a gift----she saw my beach towel/blanket I bought. She admired it and wanted to know where I got it. I have another one not open, and would make a nice gift. Or have this casserole dish thing I bought her. Gosh, have some calgon gift set I got at Christmas that I haven't opened.

Need to refocus but right now am going to take a undeserved nap.

Check back later.

Dishes are done and ate a peach, and got coffee brewed and the whites are in the washer. Headed out the door anytime now. Wanna run to the store for a Christmas present---yet kinda don't. Guess I want to get my neighbor something nice but know it upsets her if I spend much on her. Kohls has appliances 50% off and can get her a 6 qt crockpot like mine for $20. Gosh, the one time I used mine it was great but never cooked in one before.

Thought it would be something we could do together----learn to use our crockpots. Just not sure she would like it. Everyone swears I will love mine as I get some receipes for it.

Anyway, going to the store and then going to work on my house some. I still don't have the luggage put up from vacation. Geeze.

I don't have definate plans for meals so will eek out what I'm thinking.

Lunch

Salad with garden tomatoes
Peaches

Dinner

Veggie alfredo pasta for me
Steak, potatoe and corn on the cob for the son, or maybe green beans.

Plan to make a casserole for the son for this weekend while I work so he won't be into junkie stuff. He can microwave if he can't cook.

Better scoot and start my day.

Am not thinking food wise, probably should be. After today only 2 more Mondays to go. Slept 2 hr and have to run to the store to get Phillip some supplies he needs at school for his afternoon drafting class. As always need to go to the bank for some cash and need to locate a gift for my friend Angie for her birthday luncheon. Need a gift bag or to wrap and need a bereavement card for a co-worker's mom died recently. So much running and only today----for have to work tonight and wanted to go to a financial advisors meeting this evening. Just can't seem to see when I will get a nap for can't work tonight on only 2 hr sleep. But have to go to the store when it opens and get the stuff on his list. Yes, I know he got the list last Wed and never brought it home until Fri. and then didn't tell me about but before I had to go to work.

Yes I know it is his responsibility to let me know ahead of time about this stuff. But there is always this quilt over working for so long on the weekend and not being home to see to his needs. I know it is IRRATIONAL. But if I ate rationally then I wouldn't be on DT, and how I eat is how I think I fear. No, I am intellectually more mature than emotionally and I act on emotion.

Anyway, have sceintific calculator to purchase and seems the list is endless. So am off to get school supplies I didn't know I needed and to take them to the school office before his class today. Then to the bank. Surely the supply place will take a charge card. What a pain.

Better scoot. Going out to Chinese and would rather sleep than eat at this point but it won't happen until after some running this morning.

i also love chinese. i can eat it everyday. i had it on sat too.
shrimp and broccoli is my favorite.

Quickie note

Ate some grapes from grocery store, went to 2 office supplies places to get the stuff on the list, went to the dentist office to register Phillip at new dentist office across from the high school, and oh, went to the high school with those ALL important supplies. Went to the bank, and have a load of dark clothes to stick in the dryer.

Found a beautiful nightie I forgot I bought with smocking and small pearls on the top to give as a gift for Angie and atlas she is getting in a Christmas box with holly on it. EAT ME! I'm running out of time. So off to put clothes in dryer and try to smooth out my hair. Feel like I'm forgetting something ----ashamed I didn't get dishes done but that is what tomorrow is for.

Have casserole in fridge for the bud for supper.

Was suppose to have my yearly evaluation but the loving son missed the school bus saying his alarm didn't go off. So ran home and ran him to school.

Looked into his computer name to find him eyeballing PORN. He is 15 yr old and seems about normal. Nothing gross or kinky but wonder to what hour of the night my devoted child spent eyeing T&A. Stacey, here's a kleenex for those tears of laughter that must be rolling down your face.

You don't think I really believe my first and only born is an ANGEL. I work nights and know the horror flicks he rents all have big boobed gals in it. It isn't only blood and guts he's noticing.

So at least I know he isn't getting into kink. Don't tell me your dads didn't look at the Sears catalog bra section.

So tired I feel somewhat defeated. Anyway what is done is done.

Minnie Mouse, you are a tender heart. You have no idea how backward I am. I am 46 with an almost virgin crockpot----if you only do it once, aren't you still practically a virgin. Losinit gave me a receipe for some salsa chicken thing I made. Used it only once. I need practice and an experience master to teach me how to work it to its fullest potential. The crockpot that is.

Think I am pass the slap happy point. Better scoot before I blow my old foogy image. Maybe I looked at too many porn sites this morning checking to see what my dedicated son was up to last night.

But all kidding aside, without some major instruction on the art of cranking out the crockpot, I will probably have an almost virgin crockpot. Those with culinary wisdom, come depart some to this weary nurse. Wonder if Phillip will eat this casserole 3 days in a roll????

Better scoot.

Donna's a hoot!

Beyond decorum, whooohooa, think I'm running amuck.

August 20th

Didn't bother with lunch or breakfast. Just too tired. Slept 2.5 hr and woke to find my son not home from school----scared I called the school and he had stayed over to get his computer programming assignment done----the class he miss by sleeping in.

Supper at 4pm

2 kids chicken strips
sm side salad
breadstick

Guess I am so tired it was an effort to eat. Bought some tequila but never drank any or know how to mix a drink. My usual speed is a wine cooler and very infrequent. This lack of sleep is troublesome. 7.5 hr in 2 days. sooooooooooo will call my sister and find out how she made me a drink at Christmas with tequila. I slept afterward.

Took my son out to Captain D, he had fish meal. He's out now walking the dog.

Gonna check out DT.

so how you holdin up??!!! better now, I hope!!!
for your crockpot, there are lots of good recipes & advice on tasteofhome.com just in case you're still looking! I don't have one of those but I did buy a foodsaver months ago & I haven't even used it once myself, so don't feel bad!!!!

Donna, you're too much. So, how did you deal with the whole porn situation, did you confront your dear son? I too, think it's totally normal for a 15 year old, but you definately want to make sure he's not seeing anything too terrible. After all, it could shape his images of sex forever!

On to your virgin crockpot, I think you're hysterical. I wish I had more receipes to share, but mine hasn't been used for too much more than yours (although I won't call her a virgin, I don't think she'd like it). One good dip recipe is one jar salsa, one box of velveeta (for parties)... put in crockpot on low and have people spoon with chips. It's wonderful! I also use mine to make mulled cider in the winter (with spices or just cinnamon sticks)... YUM. You could spike it also.

Good luck! Keep us posted on your day-to-day!

*hugs*

Those zzzzzzzzzzzzzz are what I need. Didn't open the tequila, am a zero at drinking too. If you omit my vacation week I have had 3 wine coolers this year. Have this splitting headache and am gonna lie down before working tonight.

Yep, stuck on stupid and said I'd work. Did the dishes and that was about all that got done. My nephew came to visit unexpectedly and took him out to eat. But the nurse I told you I needed a bereavement card for needs more time off so did it to help her.

this work one night then off one night to going back to working one night is killing me. But I really understand needing more time than 3 days to get over losing a mom.

Haven't much time to check out DT this week.

Only have 2 Mondays left to work and will then work a true Baylor.

Catch you all later. As for the porn, I made it known I looked into his sites, and didn't want to see any gross or kinky stuff. He was mocked outrage---knowing that I feel it is normal for a 15 yr old to look at the girls. I sure liked it better when nitendo was his interest. Guess he's got to grow up.

Got up late purposely since I work the 12s tonight. Got laundry in the wash and coffee brewing. Took a bath and gave the outdoor dog fresh water---it is so hot in this area. Also got her and the other fur ball a pig's ear. Yum, what a treat.

Promise my son will go pay the dues at the gym so we can start back at it. Oddly he is the one complaining. Think girl looking has struck and wants some muscles to show off. Or so this old mom thinkth. Will pay them on Tues. For with the shifts I'm working I won't be going to the gym on the weekend.

Breakfast/sorta

Coffee/ice water
cantelope

Lunch/dinner

Not sure---Phil likes that pasta stuff and it's easy. Need to go to the grocery for produce. Some lettuce and peaches would be nice. Maybe some corn on the cob for the Phil.

Wanna check out DT before starting to run and the washer is done so............

Ran all night and need a goal for my yearly evaluation next year. Now after 13 yr of being a nurse what do I have left to aspire to. I just hope to still be there next yr. We have another nurse quitting on nights. She isn't out of orientation yet. Geeze.

Ran to grocery after 12 hr of running and my sweet son is putting away the produce and yogurt. I really am too tired. So guess I am going to get to the nitty gritty.

At work:
egg salad and crackers
turkey 2 bite sandwich
tomato juice
yogurt
2 cups of coffee
1 regular coke
10 glasses of water

Kinda hungry but am more tired than hungry. Wish I had bought some tomatoes.

Will probably get wapped tonight for some hr on 3-11. WAP is work adjustment program----meaning census is down and so a nurse is told to take off part of the shift without pay. Think 7 out of 10 of my patients are going home today.

I guess we will wait and see.

Headed for bed.

No nice dinner setting---just grabbing food on the run.

At home had

2 yogurts and some grapenuts
small pasta salad with fat free drsg

At work

3 sq graham crackers
4 of those little two bite turkey and cheese sandwiches
veggie soup
4 cubes of cheese
1 regular coke

And that's for 24 hr.

So tired, and know I could have left one of those little sandwiches. They are so small they are kinda cute----like tea party sandwiches.

Soup really tasted good to me.

Well, played super nurse and saved the day. Had an emergency operation and family was very appreciative of being informed and daughter looked after. And made the night worth being a nurse when it is often thankless.

Breakfast

Minnie Mouse, when you are throwing up or going into shock post surgically it won't be a doctor at your side. Slept 3.5 hr and wanting more but after lying in bed for over an hr and watching my watch, I gave up. Got the chicken in the oven for supper, got the whites in the dryer, and dishes almost done.

Drank a glass of ice water and need to make coffee

Just hate de-skinning chicken before baking so got the worst task out of the way. Deboning the chicken is just behind de-skinning it--but will make great chicken bbq or chicken and noodles. Low fat too.

Odd the male of the species. I invited my son's friends to go to the movies with him. Just thought I would invite their elderly parents to share a meal of chicken something. Anyway, my son just walks by them like he doesn't know them. No show of interest in me inviting them to the movies. Gosh, what is the deal.

I would have been thrilled for my friends to go to the movies with me on a school night. Am I so out of touch. Did I embarass him by asking them instead of having him ask them.

These friends of his were adopted by the elderly couple, and I try to include them in outings knowing that their parents don't run them places, and that most things shared are more fun. Geeze.

Breakfast

Cantelope
coffee, eventually
ice water
maybe yogurt, but found my son in my yogurt so who knows if any is left

Lunch

Salad and garden tomatoes
Or Chinese, depends on how much running I do

Dinner

Chicken something, but going to grill the bud some steak---ribeye

Better scoot, have to run to pay the dentist office what the insurance didn't cover for my crown being reattached. Then to the car insurance place for the payment, and need to get over to the financial advisor. Need to call the lawn mower repair guy. Yep, just too much excitement awaits.

Seems no time at all since I took the bud to see the orthodontist and now it's tinsel mouth time. Have only about 10min before I go pick him up from school to get them in.

Am needing to run today but will make sure in the future that we don't have early Fri. appt for it will be hard to get a nap in and if I don't nap will be up over 24 hr before I get off work, and today is a 12 hr shift.

Got to run to the dentist and insurance agent office and then to the financial advisor. Need to stop at the store for some mouse stuff. They have come into the house early this year.

Anyway enjoyed last night at the neighbor and still need to grill that steak. Got to call the lawn repair guy.

Better scoot.

Hi Donna, been away for awhile, glad to see you are still here, and from I see you are doing great! Still on nights I see, but you've found a way to follow your plan. Glad to see it, and glad to see you. Hust wanted to say hi:wave:
I remember my sons at 15. That seems to be when they don't want to have it be known they have a parent. One son went so far as to refuse to sit on the same end of the city bus that I did, so no one would think him uncool. I ask him about it now, and he says he's ashamed of his behavior and will not give me an explanation. I've learned to let it go,with a smile.

Hello Donna~~

geez you need to sleep! your post wears even me out and i consider myself busy but you never rest.
it was very nice of you to invite your sons friends to movies and there parents for dinner.

My woe is me little boy wants me to wait to spread his jaw spacer thingie in his mouth for he says its hurts enough to cry over. I know he is hurting if he took some tylenol without complaint. But it comes with the territory of new braces. He even tried to fix tomato soup himself and said it just tasted like ketchup----of course I always season mine with basil and garlic and milk, whereas he put some water in it.

Should catalog my eating

Last night

veggie soup
very small piece of some instant cheesecake pie
6 peanut butter crackers in a pkg
2 bite size buns of ham and cheese with mustard
water
2 cups of coffee
lots of Diet Splash

Got home and ate

yogurt

Am kinda hungry but really tired. Don't have the energy to mess with eating. Going to call my sis for a receipe for chicken and rice with broccoli----something soft Phillip can eat. Already have the chicken cooked. I use to make it but been a long time----something with 2 cans of creamed soup and 1/2 cup or maybe 1 cup of rice and frozen broccoli. And chicken broth.

Not sure of the amts or time to bake.

Headed for bed.

Minnie Mouse and Grannie, these 12 hr shift on the weekend are killers and I don't know how to organize to keep the running down. Hope you both and anyone peeking in has a GREAT Labor Day weekend. We plan to go to a cookout but with Phil's mouth I may bring Spaghetti O's.

How about some tuna and macaroni salad for the picnic?
Soft, easy to chew and swallow. Tuna casserole is also a good one. Poor kid, braces. I was lucky, never had any of the boys in braces, now I'm glad !

I'm getting ready to go back to two jobs, the second will be weekends, probably back in dialysis.
Hope the knee and the rest of me holds up!.8-|

I'm having my own picninc today, no guests, just us. Hope your holiday goes well:tongue:arty:

Ate leftover treats sent home from Angie's and feeling guilty. Phillip had leftover rice and chicken, and a yogurt. I then ate 2 huge salad with fresh tomatoes from Angie's. Oh and a muffin.

Got to get a grip----seems to have NO focus since vacation most days.

So tomorrow am planning:

breakfast

cantelope
yogurt and grapenut

Lunch

salad and maybe some chicken strips

Supper

broccoli salad

Got enough rice and chicken for my son but if someone has an idea of something some he might be able to eat, I'd appreciate it.

Thought I would try mac and cheese with slightly overcooked noodles.

Better scoot.

Guess I got up late but then went to bed late. Tightened my son's mouth piece and off to school he went. Meant to stay up but didn't make it.

Too beautiful to stay inside so making this short and getting out and about soon.

Had my cantelope and yogurt and grapenuts as planned, still working on the coffee.

Actually would like to read outside and have a MOM's day. Not likely to happen. Have to go to the hospital and sign up for my insurance for the year. And flex.

Wanna go shopping somewhat. Anyway better staart scooting.

I just want to eat, and eat and eat. There is this anxiety over the shar pei pup 9 month old attacking my gentle 8 yr old Weineramer dog Annie, over a dog treat. They both had a pig's ear but the shar pei wanted Annie's and attacked. Annie is a so gentle and timid and sweet, it was so upsetting to see all this blood gushing out of the bite from the shar pei to her rt inner leg----she hit a vein and blood just jetted out.

It was all over my son from pulling Annie off Lindsey---the blood. I was sick putting a pressure drsg over the bite, and seeing the fear in Annie. She is just a gentle heart. Talked to a shar pei breeder and she said I should try obedience training before just taking her to the humane society. We love Lindsey, this shar pei.

But I am fearful of this aggressive nature of her----it came from nowhere. I have been so hungry but know it is anxiety over making the right decision. My sister just wants me to get rid of the shar pei, my son's pet and best buddy.

I feel so uncertain over this issue. So going to check out the training school tomorrow. Already have lots of money in this pet and she and Phil are so close. She squeals when she sees him home from school and today he raced her to the yard, Lindsey won.

Guess I will wait and see what the school thing says.

Took 2 sleeping pills and slept 4 hr. I knew I was upset. But this is ridiculous. The attack is over and I have a plan to deal with it.

Kinda like it is ridiculous to eat poorly when I have a plan to deal with losing weight. Yet last night when upset I was HUNGRY, really really hungry. MY emotions were on edge and I wanted to bury those feeling under food. And yes I got into a few things but wasn't gross. But feel the pull of the addiction to smother my feeling instead of live thru the pain. Did the anxiety go away cause I got 2 candy bars? Of course not, but then I knew or know before I reached for them that I was just postponing the anxiety for the moment.

Going to get dressed soon and go to 24 hr grocery and then to the bank and to a different bank to pay the car payment and then home to call the dog training place. Am going to make out a TO DO list. For know I will peter out on 4 hr sleep but I tried for about an hr to go back to sleep. It just wouldn't happen. Cleaned out the bath tub from my son giving the shar pei pup a bath---he half ass cleaned it. I really am worried. This little pup loves to be outside and can't be unsupervised now.

Breakfast

Coffee and ice water

Snack of cantelope or yogurt or something

Lunch

Broccoli salad---hope to get it made up
Cantelope---need to get it cut up

Dinner

Really not sure. Fixed Phil overly cooked mac and cheese last night but would like to find something for his sore mouth to eat with some protein. I thought about making a pot roast to falling off the bone tender and mashed potatoes. Just uncertain.

I would enjoy a huge garden salad with some tomatoes a friend gave me.

Better scoot,

Need to head to bed so don't lose the whole day.

Still haven't found the dog obedience school and will work on it tomorrow. Suppose to have the next 5 nights off and will hope to get back to the gym too.

Not sure how I am going to be productive.

Not foccussed on my food plan and got to get focus. Tonight I am just to tired to think and it's almost 3 am.
