Kimberly2 07-05-02, 11:05 PM Hello everyone. Well as you can tell I had my 1st visit the her. It was a good one. I did not fair out as bad as I thought I would have. She said I had done very well on my own, but I just needed to do a little arranging with when I eat some foods and to cut down on others. And she said that all I need to do is lose about 10% of what I weight now and if I cut out 10% of all the food that I eat right now and cut out a bit more bread and eat a bit more veggies I will lose all the weight in 1 year and be able to keep it off. Because I was just staying at the same weight for about 3 months or so she said that I probably would not have any trouble staying at the finished weight because I was just burning what I ate and that is the key to staying at the weight that you want to stay at is when you get there you must just keep up your exercise up that you have already been doing. But it is when you stop the exercise is when your weight goes back up. She also said if you want to lose it in 1/2 the time cut out 20%. One idea is to measure your food and then put 10 or 20% back. She also told me not to eat my fruit as my dessets. She said to USE THEM FOR MY SNACKS, and DON'T SNACK ON THE CRACKERS AND CHEESE.
Or have a cup of cut up veggies ready at hand to munch on while I'm doing other things.
And of course drink the dreaded water.
Anyway she told me that is was a good idea to start a fresh journal.
So here goes.
Today I weigh in at 154/164/140
I went for my 1 1/4 mile walk so that brings my totaly miles since June 9th =33miles. My goal is to see how long it takes me to get to 100.
I worked all day. As of 5pm I'm on holidays for 2 weeks. I won't be posting every day because we will be coming and going.
Today I had
3/4 cup Special K,1/2cup skim milk 7:15am
1/2c blueberries
Tea and Skim milk
Lunch was
2 plain rice cakes with 1 tbsp of light p butter
1 cup of baby carrots
1 glass of water 12noon
snack 1 large apple 2:30pm
Dinner: The family made it before I got home
1 4 oz burger with light cheese
1 cup of spicy fries, Ketchup
1cup of tossed salad and light dressing
water 1/16 of a pie
Home made strawberry rhubarb
PS I only put about 1/2 the sugar in my pies and I just use the ready pie shells that you just add water to. We do not like the heavy pie crust.

This is so very true, when I quit exercising I re gained all my weight!
I have come to realize that I will need to make exercise a major part of my life my whole life from now on in order to lose and keep the weight off.
Sounds like you are doing super well and are on the right track.

Way to go on getting back on track. before you know it you will be back to what you are use to doing.
it amazes me how much we , (well I) have to pay so much attention to our health and our bodies not only woman healthy issues but much more. I have see all of my fathers Brothers and sisters pass away in a good late age of life. I said gee what contruibed to the long life. I know for a fact they did not eat healthy (it showed) nor did they work out. but they did live a diffrent life style they us today, I mean I do not think they has as much stress as we do or maybe they did. who knows I do not I want so much to be 80 and still running the streets. Life is short and when the good lords calls us, at least I will be ready and would know I enjoyed what he gave me. My health...

Kimberly2 07-16-02, 11:22 PM Thnaks for your suppport girls. It was nice to come back to. I've been on holidays and still am but I'm back home now. I don't go back until Monday. I did not think that I needed a holiday, but now that I've had it I guess I did need it.
Anyway the dieitian told me to start eat just 10% less of the food that I already eat. And she also said to think twice about eating the things that are not as good for me before I eat them. She said to start giving myself a bit of a pep talk and start talking myself out of some of the bad stuff and I will find that I will start to reach for the stuff that is better for me more often.
I did very well the first week of holidays I had to write everything down. And I did keep up my walking. I'm up to 501/2 miles todate. I'm reaching for my first 100 miles.
As of tomorrow I have to measure all my food and then put 10% back. She told me to put what I would normally eat on my plate and then take a 2nd plate and only put 90% of that on the other plate and only eat that and put the rest back. And that goes for everything. But keep up the water. I found that is was to hard to do while I was on holidays because we ate out mostly everyday because we were traveling and eating in other places.
Anyway tomorrow is the first day I have to start doing this. I see her again on August 7th.:coach:
Kimberly2 07-17-02, 06:53 PM Today was a good day. I'm back on track so far. Tonight might be a different story. We are going out for dinner because it is our 23rd Anniversary.
You know what happened just a few minutes ago. I have kept a little black skirt that I have always liked even though it was always tight on me. Well this morning I took it out of the back of the closet and I washed it in with the black load that I was doing and I ironed it and as I was getting ready to go out for the night I did not let him know that that was what I was going to wear. I was standing there talking to my one daughter and my hubby walked by. Then he stoped and looked at me. Then when I finished talking to my daughter he came back and he said I did not even think that you had that anymore. It looks great on you you should wear it more often. Well I think he made my day.
Kimberly2 07-21-02, 09:51 PM Hello eveyone. Something I think is finally sinking in. I'm down to 154/164/140. Something she told me to do is finally working? I don't know what yet? I guess that is part of the guess work. Keep trying new ideas.
I think that is part of all this. Maybe that is the theory behind if at first you don't succeed try try again. Just because one of your ideas does not work does not mean that the next one won't.
My walking update is 58 miles since June9th. My birthday if on July 29th. I wonder how many miles I'll have gone up until my birthday?
Feeling good but I don't want to go back to work. It's been nice for the past 2 weeks without all the BS. It was nice to have some family time.
I'm starting with a fresh challenge for myself.
Kimberly2 07-23-02, 06:43 PM Hello everyone. I had to talk myself out of heading for the cupboard. I did it. I ended up going for to walks instead. I have to take the girls out to do some shopping tonight so we will be busy after dinner. I think something might be finally working. I feel a bit different in some of my clothes. Even some of the new ones that I bought in the spring that were smaller then the year before. We will see on Sunday the day before my birthday. I was hoping to be down to 150. I don't think that I will be that lucky but I think that I will be close. Wish me luck. My walking total so far todate is 61 miles.
Kimberly2 07-29-02, 09:17 PM Hello eveyone. I had a good Birthday. I got a gardening book and a CD walkman from my family. I can't wait to try it. I have to work for the boss for the rest of the week so I won't get all my walks in this week. I see the dietitian on August 7th. I think she will be happy with my results so far. I got down to 152/164/140 on the weekend. It is the lowest that I've been in 15 years. I was happy to see that when I stood on the scale.
The only thing that I disappointed about this birthday was noone at work remembered it. I usually get everyone else something for their birthdays, at least a cake and they all forgot. I did not tell anyone. I did have my feeling hurt but at least I did not come home and eat because of the disappointment. And I think that is a + anyway.
CONGRATULATIONS on being at your lowest weight in 15 years. You are halfway to your goal, and the next pound you lose will make you over halfway there. Way to go!! You must be feeling so good about that! You seem to be doing really well with the dietician's advice. I am curious about one thing...did she mention anything you should do differently because of your thyroid problem? I have a low thyroid too, and I was wondering if she mentioned anything specific to that. Keep up the great work, Kimberley, and don't think twice about those knuckleheads at work.
Kimberly2 08-06-02, 05:59 PM My boss got back to work today. And she did give me a gift. I guess I should not be mad after all. She said that she forgot to bring it to work with her on the last day and then forgot about it up until a few days after she was gone. Now I feel bad for the thoughts that I had. Well I guess its better that I had said them to myself afterall.
I go and see the dietitain tomorrow. While I was working this week I did not get any exercise at all until this past weekend. I'm back in the swing now. Because I did not I put a few pounds back on so let it be know that if you do stop your exercise you will put your weight back on and right away I might add. So I'm sure everything will be going better once I get myself on track.
Kimberly2 08-07-02, 10:12 PM Hi everyone. I went to see the dietitain today. She told me to start a fresh journal until I see her again.
She said that I still needed to cut down even more on my bread no butter cut down alot of cheese EVEN diet. She also said to start walking faster to brush up on my walking skills
And she said that I was ready to be cut off on all JUNK FOOD and I have to drink ONLY WATER until I see her. Alot of the drinks have sugar and salt in and that is onw way to cut down on my salt.
She said that I can only help myself. She can provide me with the knowledge but it's up to me if I'm going to use it. She said that I had not done to badly for the month. After all I had gone down to my lowest weight ever and put a few back on but also took some back off all in the same month. It is just up to me to keep going in the right direction instead of staying the same. Only I can keep going. And I have to ask myself " IF I'M STILL NOT HAPPY WITH THE WEIGHT THAT I AM NOW THEN WHY AM I NOT FINISHING THE JOB?
Think of your job: Would you be more pleased with yourself if you only did 1/2 the job or would you rather sit back when your done and see what a great job you did? I today have decided to try my best and pick B. I hope everyone else will try the same.
Kimberly2 08-08-02, 09:52 PM Hi everyone. I hope all of you had a good day. I did. I'm a bit hungry at the moment but I'm sure it will pass in the next few days. The one thing that hate about eating better is that I get head aches for a few days until things start to get better. I call that my sugar shock.
I listed all my food on my food journal today and I listed my walking also in my walking journal. Except for my head ache I'm fine and I will live through this. I've had to Junk food at all today and I have had at least 6 glasses of water. Talk to you tomorrow.

So how did it go at the dietician? Well I hope. You sure have been doing well. How do the three numbers work?
That must have been wonderful what your hubby said about your black skirt. Very nice. I am still waiting for the clothes thing. I ahve too big of a ponch though. Once I get that back to a 'more human' size I am sure he will notice. He was proud when I had hit the 20 pound loss thing though.
Do you come to any chats through the week? I would love to meet you there sometime.

sounds like you're doing a great job!! it's so true about the exercise...not only can we eat more but it knocks our metabolism into high gear so the fat burning can kick in!! yeah!!!

Guess what. I got on the scales today and I got my daughter to see. I'm now down to 150/164/140. The dietitain said I reaaly should not go down to much lower then 130/125 because I'm a medium frame. I was down to 97 pounds when I was a teen and Looked sick all the time. It took me 2 years to put and keep any weight on and now look at me.
Anyway I was very happy when I saw that this morning.

The exercise chat is a 'scheduled' chat. That means it is at the same time each week. It is Tuesday nights at 9pm your time, I believe.
You go into the first chat room, click on 'rooms' and it will have a choice, click on 'scheduled chat' and it will take you to that room. We usually are there from 9-10 your time.
The other chat room, has people who just stop by whenever they can, I find that if you wait for a while someone will come along.
I don't understand the 3 number thing that you do. What does it mean?

Kimberly2 08-25-02, 10:40 PM Hi everyone. I've been very busy the past 2 weeks working and no time for me. I've just started this weekend to get my swing back. And am doing ok. I see the dietitian on Sept 11th. I'm also going to start seeing a girl that was working with my daughter. She want to do this for a living. So I'm going to be one of her case studies. I think we will both learn something. I'll be her 1st one.
I had to fill out 6 pages of info for her to begin with. I've not had my first meeting with her yet. I'll be handing my papers in to her on Monday. Hopefully she won't find me a lost cause.
One of the questions that was on the sheets was. As you where you want to be at this point of your life? The first thing I found myself doing was skipping that question and doing all the other questions first.
I thought about it for about 1/2 hour before I answered it. I do love the life that I have. I have a wonderful family and I have a job that I like { I don't like everyone that I work with} But I love the work. I have a house and 2 cars , 2 kids and a wonderful husband.
But there is still one thing that I have not done that I've always wanted to do and I think I've told you people before. I've always wanted to have my own business. I've always wanted to have my own small card and gift shop and I'm a great believer in small home businesses. And I still have not done anything about it. I #1 don't have the funds. I have all my great ideas still in my head. I find that I don't always tell people about them for fear that they might steal my ideas and beat me to it.
My thought are always, Some day when I win the lottery I'll do it.
Do I think that this day will come NO.
I talked to my daughter about it and she told me to get all my ideas down and have it all ready at hand because when she becomes famous she wants to help me out with it so I don't have to keep doing something that I may not want to do all my life.
So once school starts up and I have a bit more time to get my ideas together. I'll do it.
You know our local drug store has just done some renivations and has some old shelving out in the back that has been out there for a week or so. Maybe I should ask them if I can have it. It's greeting card shelving. What do you think? Where would I put it for now?
what a great kid you have, for offering to help you!!!! as for the shelving, it sounds good & you never know what might inspire you to start up this business after all! so shove it in the garage or throw it out back with a big ol tarp over it!! I'll bet it comes in handy:D

Kimberly2 08-26-02, 11:08 PM Thanks Buji. I did find myself to busy to go back to the drug store But I think I'll head there tomorrow after my shift. I only have to work until noon So I hope thery are still there.
If you were to start your own business what would it be? Also another ? How do you like WW's. I've been to a meeting but found that I could not afford the cost all the time.
My uncle went and lost about 65 pounds but I see that he has put about 15 or so back on. He does not stay with it. Do you have any hints that might help me a bit or are you to give anyone hints outside your meetings? If that that is OK.

Everyday for 7 days after that I'm busy working so I can't weight to see her. HA a little play on words there. Anyway if there is anything there that might help anyone else I hope it does. Last week I weighed in at 150/164/140.
Kimberly2 09-08-02, 09:18 PM Well I had a good day today. I got into and bought a little black dress. SIZE8. I could not believe my eyes. And my husband and my daughter thought I looked great in it also. So I bought it. I've been looking for one for a long time and have never found one that I liked and it is also sleeveless to boot. I have never owned one.
My hubby said that I looked great and to keep up the good work. I see my new dietitain tomorrow. She will be coming to the house.
I did not do any better with the weight loss this week but I did stay the same and I think that is just as good. I don't even remember the last time I was a size 8. Anyone reading this I would advise you just to keep going because some day you will be saying the same thing. I know I've been where you might be. 5 years ago I was a size 18.
Today I weighted in at 150/164/140. 5 years ago I was 180.
Kimberly2 09-15-02, 07:45 PM Hi everyone. I just stayed the same this week I did not get in the exercise this week that I was hoping for. I had to work most of the week and I have to work full time all this week because my boss is off. This weekend is my parents 50th Anniversary and Don't know how I'm going to get all the stuff done. I hope my sisters kick in and help me. Wek will see.
