Hello everyone! I am Leah, otherwise known as balletbabe. i think this journaling is such a great idea and i hope it will help me melt the pounds off...
right now i am away from home and have been for a few weeks, so i don't really know how munch i weigh. Im guessing somewhere around 120, probably closer to125, and im hoping to get to about 100... no, i WILL get to 100!! :D
im a 26 year old ballerina and im getting married in october. im trying to lose weight for my wedding and for my dancing carreer. i hope to lose about 10 pounds by my big day, and 20 in the long run.
so my plan is basically this- eating about 800-1000 cals a day, and no junk food (except on sundays :o ) i know it doesn't seem like i eat enough, but trust me, if i eat a bite over 1200 i start gaining. i also plan on getting 30 minutes of cardio (other than dance) and 15 minutes of muscle toning. when i get home, i will start weighing in every monday, wednesday, and saturday. so this is where i will record my eating, excercising, and otherwise how i am doing every day. :)

Hi Balletbabe! Nice to meet you. I find journaling extremely helpful, and I love coming back and finding someone has taken the time to post to encourage me.
It must be so exciting being a dancer! I know there is huge pressure on dancers to stay tiny. A lot of dancers I knew in college were on the verge of eating disorders from all the people watching their waistlines. I am guessing you are not very tall by your goal weight? My mom is only 5 feet tall and she weighed 100 for years. She kind of plumped up late in life though, lol.
Good luck on your program and congratulations on your upcoming wedding! Love, Heather

whew! well i haven't been here at all... ive been out of town for the past few weeks without reliable computers.... but now im back and i will come here every day! thank you heather for coming by! yes dancing is a lot of fun. thankfully my company does not put to much pressure on our dancers to be stick thin. however i know the powers that be would like to see me a couple sizes smaller... but thats ok. thats why im here, right?? oh and don't worry, im very short- 5'1" ok here goes nothing.
FOOD
breakfast
bowl of cereal
lunch
i was so caught up with this ballet camp im working at that i didn't have time for lunch. i know its bad, ill try not to do it again
dinner
greek salad (lettuce, tomatos, feta cheese, and olives) with some kind of dressing, but im not sure what
there was some garlic cheese bread at dinner but my roommate who eats everything in sight but somehow manages to be tiny and our piggy boyfriends ate it all before i could get to it. oh well. i guess it wouldn't had been to good for me anyways.
water
i think i drank approx. 7-8 glasses today. wahoo!
total cals- about 400
EXCERCISE
for my workout im doing a 20 minute fitness routine thing i found in ladies home journal. i hope to do one a day on weekdays, and two on saturdays and sundays, since i always eat more then. anyways, today i got one in, which is good
SOMETHING GOOD
today i was at the pool and everyone i was with got pretzels and candy and ice cream from the concession stand. but did i? no!
SOMETHING THAT NEEDS WORK
i definatly should have eaten more today. if i miss lunch again i will make it a point to get some fruit or something when i get home. and if we have a small dinner like we did tonight i will try to get all the food i want on my plate before my friends eat it all.... but i really shouldnt be worrying about this because usually i eat way too much.
adios!!
SOMETHING:D

ok wow i just noticed that random something at the end of the last post, sorry i don't know why thats there. haha! well im doing this journal for yesterday, which was a disaster in the dieting aspect. :c(
FOOD
breakfast
no time again. this was probably my downfall
lunch
a bowl of cereal (dont ask, i guess i was craving one since i missed breakfast)
then my camp went to six flags so ill just list what i ate there because there was no actual dinner (this is where it gets bad)
a huge cup of lemonade
half a basket of fries
a huge vanilla shake. this is what is bad. i promised not to eat any junk food and i did!
water- 8 glasses at least
total cals- about 1000
EXCERCISE
i did my fitness routine plus at six flags i would guess there was about 2 hours or more of walking and a little bit of running
SOMETHING GOOD
when i came home for lunch i knew that it was the only chance i would get to do my routine thing but i really really didnt want to. but i made myself do it and that made me happy in the long run!
SOMETHING THAT NEEDS WORK
i think i already made this pretty clear
PANTS
my group the aas are doing a pants challenge to see if we can fit in a certain pair of pants by september so im trying mine on on all the days i dont weigh in. i tried mine on (right after the shake) and they come up but there was no zippage or buttonage happening
