Lizzie B 07-22-02, 11:23 AM Day 35 to 41
Good Monday Morning Snow Angels,
Are you ready for a new already??? I sure am!! I am so glad this is the start of a fresh week and day. After last week today feels real good.
I am happy to say I most definitely feel better today and ready to tackle a new day. I am hungry today so I really have to be on guard and only eat soft food and now maybe add a couple of foods back. One good thing about me when I finally start feeling better I get well fast.
I learned a couple new things about me this last week. I am a pain in the tush when I am sick. I have high expectations of others which is a sure sign to fail. Then I have high expectations of me which is not to great. So I am learning some patience and realizing people can not read my mind. I don't know why I read theirs .LOL
WAKE UP AND GET MOVING CAUSE TIME IS A AWASTING!! Look how fast time has gone. Do you realize we have been this for almost a month?? How did you do this month? Have you moved toward your goal? Are you drinking all your water? How about those walks? Well it is only fair for me to answer the questions first.
Yes I realize how fast the last 28 days has flown!! I lost 4 lost this month toward my goal. I am still working on the water and improving each day. Finally am walking that mile I never dreamed possible. It has been an up and down month but finally all down!! Yipeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
Now are we all still motivated? You bet!! Nothing like a little success to jump start the motivation. Remember everyday is a success!! You may not accomplish everything you started out to do but as long as you are working towards it then you are a success. All any of us can do is try!!!!!!!!!!!
I remain determined to lose my excess lbs and become fitter and healthier. I am on this journey because I know I will succeed. Has anyone noticed any changes within themselves this past 4 weeks?? I have and will share a couple of things. For one I am happier than before and maintaing focus on what I need to do. Then there is the energy level. I find myself doing things I didn't think possible. For example: When did my back stop hurting when I took my shower? I am doing more house work along with gardening. I have a ton more energy and don't have to rest near as often as before. I am getting up earlier but still not eating till later which is okay.
My plans for today:
Stay on diet
Relax
Work in my garden
Enjoy my grandson
Remember to hug my DH
Be good to myself
Water has become a given and don't need to state it everyday unless I slack off
Okay Snow Angels we have a brand new week and a fresh start. Let us make the most of it!!!!
Remember to be good to yourself and forgive yourself for not being perfect!! We all have weaknesses but that is why we come together as a group./ To help each other through the rough spots!! So pull together and get this journey moving!!
Are you in today?? You bet I am !! Let's get moving and thinking!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
JUST DO IT!!!!!!!!!
Love and hugs,
Lizzie
:D :D :tomato: :D :D
HAPPY MONDAY SNOW ANGELS!!!!!
I for one am ready to tackle the week. Lizzie - you asked about changes. The biggest change I have noticed is that I FINALLY took the last step and decided to get serious about an eating program. I have been doing great with exercise, but have not wanted to take the effort to journal my food and monitor the amount I am taking in. I finally made the decision last Wednesday and I feel great about it. I think I have just been in what CJ would call the preparation phase of eating healthy for a long time now. Now I am in the action stage!! I feel so in control and am glad that I had all the weight watchers stuff lying there to help me.
I am praying to see a loss this Wednesday. I need to see that bloody scale move and I'll do whatever it takes (as long as its healthy) to get it!!
BTW - Lizzie, am glad you are feeling better.
Today's goals:
(1) exercise - This morning I got a good workout in and did 35 minutes on the elliptical machine, 2 sets of UBWT, 100 crunches and stretching. Plan to take a little walk at lunch
(2) 8 glasses of water - 4 down, 4 to go
(3) 5 servings of fruits and vegetables
(4) Stay on the low end of points range
(5) Do my bible study for tomorrow.
Have a great on-plan day everyone.
Luci
ajmarble 07-22-02, 12:34 PM Good Morning Snow Angels!! I am ready for the new week to begin. I have tossed out the "bad attitude", and am well on my way to a fresh start.
I got my 1 hour of exercise in ....and just finished my breakfast. Kashi golean cereal with skim milk, and a large apple! Yummy.....lots of fiber too!:o
I am going to take time out to clean up the house today, seeing as I didn't get whole lot done yesterday.
We have all come a long way since the beginning of this challenge. I know we can all do this. I am more determined than ever to get these last 26 lbs. off!!
I hope you all have a stupendous (LOL) day!!!!!!! :D
Here are some    for all of you........AJ
Blondee49 07-23-02, 07:14 AM Good morning angels!
SO good to "see" you all again!! AJ, Ruthie, Stacey, Sandy, Luci, SandieLynn, who else?.........
Lizzie..........am SO glad you're feeling better, love! Sending positive thoughts and (((HUGS))) your way! MMMMMMM........jello!
MMMMMMM rice! Yummers! Hope you can have some real food that won't hurt you soon........I feel for you sweety!
LOL! I did collect lots of hugs on the weekend, and had a lot of fun. I plan to go again this weekend.
I'm making copies of the info you sent me and of the charts/neat stuff I found at another site, for Sharon. I got a LOT of goodies printed off and then my computer rebelled....won't let me print, back up to previous page etc. Hope it will let me POST when I'm done here!
You mentioned your dear friend, who was 80. I have one at the club who is 78. Her son plays the drums. I love her like a Mama and we all call her Mom. She's a real trip. The night I hooked up with her , she was slipping a straw into other peoples drinks while they were dancing! She's a terrible influence on me! I thank God for the neat people he's allowed to cross my path in life. She's very special to me. Age plays no factor in friendship.
It's been really hot here , and dry since the flood 10 days ago...........97 yesterday w/heat index of 104. I had to MAKE myself stop on the way home at K-Mart to pick up my meds. It was my premarin and I'm a , uhhhh, uhmmm, not very nice lady? without 'em!
I've been sitting here too long and my shoulders are gettin' cramped up. I'm gonna get dressed and get a walk in here shortly.
It's hard to believe how quickly time slips away. A day becomes the next month in a blink it seems.
I am ready and eager to get this new week underway. We KNOW how short it will be!
My goals for this week are:
1. DRINK that water! Every day!
2. Chart daily food/activity/choices
3. Get my bloomin' ironing done!
4. Walk........15 miles (it's DO-able!)
5. Collect/drop off Goodwill goodies
6. Put my house in order
7. Do something for funsies at least 3x this week
I will have a good week, take good care of me, make the BETTER choice when one is presented (@ least 80/20) and use what I HAVE. I am blessed beyond measure........I will acknowledge that and act accordingly!
Love to all......have a wonderful day and WEEK!!!!
Brenda
Hey Angels - Good morning.
Today my goals are:
1) exercise - this morning I did 30 minutes on the recumbant bike and 2 sets of LBWT
2) 5 servings of fruits and vegetables
3) at least 8 glasses of water
4) stay within my points
5) avoid thinking negative thoughts about my husband's ex ( it doesn't help)
Have a great day:rose:
Luci
StaceyJG1 07-23-02, 01:39 PM Good day Snow Angels,
I was posting on our last thread, not realizing we started a new one! Guess I should have looked at the date.
My goal yesterday was to finally get some exercise. I did 45 minutes on my recumbent bike - 9.6 miles. Boy was that tough! I could breath fine, but my legs were screaming at me. I also did some upper arm exercises. Now I just have to get back on my exercising regularly.
I have lost 4.5 pounds over the last four weeks. I'm very happy about that! This challenge has been a great motivator for me. None of the other challenges were anything I could stick to, but this one I can.
I have lost a total of 14.75 inches since April, so I'm VERY happy about that! My clothes are fitting a lot better, I got rid of ALL of my size 24 clothes now. I feel a lot better about me, and it shows. I take more time with my appearance now, then I used to. I get a lot more compliments now. That's nice!
Goals for today:
1) WATER
2) Points
3) Exercise
4) Extra hugs for my baby (10 year old)
Have a great day!
Blondee49 07-23-02, 02:45 PM Stacey! WTG!! The pounds and inches taking the elevator DOWN! Woohoo! And getting in the exercise as well. I have developed an allergy to it but am working on it. I have the door open and am looking at the pool. Trying to talk myself into getting in it.
I traded today for Friday for an off day. This was one of the mornings i was up at 2 AM and by 6 really felt crappy.
I'm putting my info all together in Sharons notebook (mine too) so I can take it to her tomorrow.
Hope you all are doing well and have a great day!
Luci...........We are told to "pray for our enemy.....it is like heaping coals of fire on their heads"........I've done that with some and said I'm gonna BURN THEIR HEADS OFF! I don't think God was impressed with my reasoning! LOL! Wish you luck in turning those negative feelings about her into a positive "something" for YOU!
Brenda
ajmarble 07-23-02, 03:13 PM Well....I am off to a very late start today, but I am getting everything done that I need to. My MIL called this morning, and I talked with her for a while, so that got me a bit behind. I am doing well with eating, and have done my exercise for the day. I am hoping that I can make it to water aerobics this evening. The city has decided to keep it the pool open for the rest of the summer. Anyways...I just finished breakfast at 11:30, and hubby is home for lunch already. Told you I was running late  I need to get going, but I will check back in later when I get a minute...........Best to you all AJ
Lizzie B 07-23-02, 03:39 PM Good Morning Snow Angels,
I am telling you I love my grandson but yikes he likes to watch me type. I am bad enough without him saying grandma you spelled that word wrong!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Breaking any concentration I might have had.
Anyway I am did my 1/2 mile walk today and had to stop I think I pushed it just a little to much. Now I am thinking about resting and doing the bike later.
I feel much better today and these are my goals:
1. Stay on program
2. Exercise
3. Drink lots of fluids
4. Do some work in my garden and herbal garden
5. Rest and relax for a while.
6. Be happy.
Stacey Great news about the weight!!!!
Good job staying on track AJ!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Luci forget about the ex she can not even compare to you!!!
Brenda hope you get some rest and feel better!!
Well I am off to fight my demons another day!!!
:lil:
Hope you all have a great day!!! I sure am !! Going to knock the socks off a least a pound!!!!!!!!!
Take care,
Love and hugs,
Lizzie::D :D :tomato:
shapenup 07-24-02, 07:01 AM Hi Angels!
Just checked out your sight after someone mentioned it in a post to one of my threads. You're all so inspirational. I love the goal setting online! I too set daily, weekly, monthly, and long-term goals. My experience is that you've got a great chance of acheiving what you set out to acheive!:ribbon:
I posted a 1.75 loss for the week last night with my support group. I'm now at 183.5 and continue to count down to goal. I noted a few new changes in my clothing and accessories yesterday. A choker necklace, no longer chokes me and now fits! Also, my thighs seem to be fitting better into the skimpy soccer shorts that I use to weigh in!:)
Goals for today:
1. Bike 17 miles
2. Walk 1.5 miles
3. Vacuum the house!:c(
4. Clean out the car
5. Decrease work stress by completing a project today vs. next week when its due (so I can enjoy my next 2 days off!)
6. Keep total calories in the 1500-1800 range.
Have a great day everyone!
StaceyJG1 07-24-02, 07:31 AM Happy Weigh-In Day!!
I beat Lizzie this morning?!? I'm happy with my weigh-in, though not ecstatic. I'm down another pound to 262.5. I want to hit at least 260 by next weigh-in. Break into a new decade! Have to up my exercise. I did do another 30 minutes on my bike last night, but my legs were still sore from the night before. I'm going to keep a low poing day since I had pasta last night and was on the high end of my points.
Goals:
1) Drink water
2) Stay on low end of points
3) Exercise
4) Get some packing done
Have a great day, Snow Angels!! I'll be back to check on everyone later.
Lizzie B 07-24-02, 08:55 AM Hi Janet,
Welcome to the Snow Angels.:lily: I couldn't agree more about setting goals to achieve. That is what is successful for me. I am finding that works in almost everything I do.
Wow you already lost a lot!! Super!!!!!!!!!! Plus 1.7 lbs in a week is wonderful!!! Those are some awesome goals for today too!!
Doesn't it feel great to notice and feel changes since you started losing. I love the idea of wearing a choker again without being choked too death. Not many people talk about jewelry fitting better but I am waiting to lose more around my neck so I can wear smaler necklaces. I think that is exciting!!
Janet you are now an official Snow Angel!! I know you will enjoy your adventure along with us.:)
Okay ready for the day????? ME TOOO
Love and big hugs to our newest Snow Angel,
Lizzie:D :D :tomato:
Lizzie B 07-24-02, 09:05 AM Good morning Stacey,
You are up bright and early!! I almost stayed up when I first got up but 4:00 am is just a tad tooooo early for me.
Wow Stacey you are moving right along!! Wow!!!!! Hey I know what you mean about the pasta and staying at low points. I made meatloaf last night and pushed my points to the limit and then some. I have not been able to eat meatloaf for so long that I was hungry for it once it was done. Made my tummy a little queasy but it sure was good. I found I lose more readily if I stay at lower end of points too!!
You are doing such a wonderful job losing weight. Be very proud of all you have accomplished!! WOOOOOOOO HOOOOOOOO.
Have a super day!! You did get here first:c( Naaaaaa just kidding!!:tomato:
Love and hugs,
Lizzie
Blondee49 07-24-02, 09:16 AM GOOOOOOOOD morning angels and welcome Janet!! This is a great place to be and we're glad to have you on board!
Thanks Lizzie....I do feel better this morning. I ended up having a spell w/my tummy and feeling very sick. I'm fine this morning tho and am so glad!
The heat has knocked my socks off of late and I have been feelin' like a bit of a slug. I will work past that TODAY.
I found a book I've had for probably 2 years at least....."Walking for Health". Gonna tote it to work with me and refresh some points. I'd picked it up at Goodwill, put it on my book shelf and promptly forgot it!
Gonna run and get ready for work. Have a super day everyone. You're doing great!!!
Brenda
Lizzie B 07-24-02, 09:30 AM Happy Wednesday Snow Angels,
Today is going to be my lazy day. I will:
1. stay on program
2. drink lots of fluids
3. work in my garden.--it doesn't require much work now just keeping the weeds out plus the garden is my stress reliever.
4. be nice to DH
5. enjoy being alive
6. maybe ride my stationary bike
Well those are easy goals. Well right now they look easy. Wait until I do them and we will see.
Another beautiful day and lots of possibilities. Today is my day to work on family photos. I have the frames just need to put the photo in and then hang them up. I have my DH 's family on one wall and mine on another. The reason I am doing it that way is so the grandchildren can learn who belong to DH 's family and who is from mine. Don't know if many of you know that I came from a family of 8 children and so did DH. So there are a lot of relatives that my grandchildren will probably never see. So hanging families separately made sense to me. They have 2 uncles and 28 great aunts and uncles and that is before we add cousins!!! Yikes I am scaring me!!
Okay Angels I am feeling a lot better and the hungries are starting to penetrate my defenses so I need lots of positive energy from you all. I am going to keep my little hands busy today so I don't have time to think about food except for those short times when I have to.
I am ready for the day to begin!! Had my coffee and ready to move this old body and challenge the mind. Hey maybe i had too much coffee.:D
Hope you all are up to the challenge today I know I am.. Let's get out there and leave those excuses behind and move forward!!!!!!!!! One day at atime!! We can do this! We will do this. I will do this!! Together can do anything!!!!!Yeaaaaaaaaaa
Love and hugs,
lizzie
Lizzie B 07-24-02, 09:37 AM Brenda,
After you read about those tips about walking, would post some here?? I know I can use some tips!!
I am sure happy to hear you are better. Absolutely no fun when tummy is put of whack!! I am going to have to start going to Goodwill. Everybody seems to find all kinds of neat stuff. One of my sons buys clothing there too. Not a lot but a shirt here and then.
I am going to check out weight machines. In fact have a couple to go there anyway. Clean out my closets and I will fill the store!!
You have a super day!
Love and hugs,
lizzie
StaceyJG1 07-24-02, 09:41 AM Thanks, Lizzie!
I know what you mean about feeling better and being hungry. After I started feeling better, I could taste again, and I wanted a lot of things that I wouldn't normally eat. Kind of strange! But I survived. You don't want to go backwards just cuz you're feeling better! Nothing tastes as good as thin feels...
Have a great day, and enjoy it!
I finally got the scale to go down!! Last week I lost 4 pounds. Boy I really needed that. Have been starting to feel like all of my hard work was not paying off. I guess I just needed the final piece of the puzzle to fit in before I could start losing weight again.
Janet: Welcome to our group, so glad to have you along for the ride!!
Stacey: Awesome job on the weight loss!! As Losinit would say, you will be in a new decade in no time.
Lizzie: Thanks for always being so positive and such great leader. It always starts my day off right to hear what you have to say.
Brenda: You go girl!! Glad to hear you are feeling better and ready to tackle the road again.
Todays goals:
1) Exercise: got to the gym for 35 minutes on the elliptical machine (442 cals), 2 sets of UBWT (biceps, triceps, shoulder press, chest press, lateral pull-down and seated row), 100 abdominal crunches (60 regular, 40 lateral), and some stretching.
2) Drink at least 8 glasses of water (4 down - 4 to go)
3) 5 servings of fruits and vegetables
4) Stay within my points
5) Take some time out for myself to relax this evening with a good book
Have a great day ladies!!
Luci
Lizzie B 07-24-02, 01:26 PM Luci,
WOW!!!!!!!!!!!!! Four pounds!!!!!! Super Super!! I just love good news!!!! That is wonderful to lose 4 lbs I know how exciting that is when the scales finally start moving again!! Renewing your committent has really paid off. You go girl!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Go ahead and take a:bow: . You have earned it!!!
Love and hugs,
Lizzie
StaceyJG1 07-24-02, 01:46 PM Luci,
Great job!! Make sure you're monitoring your inches too, especially with all that exercising. You were probably "shrinking" just not changing numbers on the scale. Awesome!!
ajmarble 07-24-02, 02:45 PM Congratulations to all who had a loss, and congrats to all who are making progress and staying on program!! You are all doing fab! Welcome Janet!!
Today is Wednesday weigh-in, and I am not thrilled, but better than a gain, I maintained again this week. TOM is holding me back...I don't like "him" very well!!!! Next week I am sure the scales will go down again.
Yesterday I got a lot accomplished, and only have a little dusting and vacuuming to do today. It is a never ending job, this housework. It is also a little more difficult when you have a very inquisitive, and playful 2, going on 3 year old, walking on your feet all day long. Any of you who have kids, I am sure you know that all too well.
Next week, I am going out of town with my daughter, to go see my in-laws. Hubby isn't able to go with us. I will also be able to go see my sister and her family while I am away. She lives about 575 miles away, so I don't get to see her often. It will be lots of fun.
I have done pretty well today so far....exercised, ate a good breakfast, and am guzzling down the water as we speak. I am determined to get this blubber off of my body...and soon!!
My goals for the day.....
Drink at least 96 oz of water......
Stay within 1300-1500 calories.........
Exercise....DONE!.........
Finish dusting, and vacuum whole house.......
Have a fun day with my daughter, and read to her lots.......
Give hubby a big hug and kiss(es) and tell him I love him.....
Give special   to my fellow Snow Angels....
Well.....like I said before...you all are doing AWESOME!!! We will make our goals.....Look out Charlie's Angels, you've been replaced by the Snow Angels!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!LOL
Take good care of yourselves today, and have a great Wednesday!!! My best to each and every one of you! AJ
sandielynne 07-24-02, 05:19 PM Well, I finally got here. I apologize to everyone. I sometimes forget to post here. I need to try another way of remembering I guess.
Today is weigh-in? Oops. I don't want to!
Ok, I guess I have to, like it or not. I had gained back 3 lbs. as of Monday, but today I am only 2 lbs. back. 233 lbs today. I'm sure I'll get rid of the other two lbs in time.........AGAIN...........it was my own foolishness that put it back there in the first place.
AJ, you cracked me up girl. Look out Charlie's Angel's eh? Hahaha. Very good. I really needed that.
Janet............WELCOME to the group. The more the merrier.
And Lizzie, my friend............where do you get the energy from? Always so up beat and positive. I am sooooooo jealous. I must have accidently had the wrong button on me pushed by accident because my jolliness is sitting in a closet somewhere and I seem to have lost the key. I'm trying to find it again, and I seem to have short spells of doing really well, but then it's gone before I realize it was here. Gosh, I wish I knew why or how or what, but I don't.
I sure hope everyone is having a good day.
Sandie
ellantehalima 07-24-02, 06:29 PM Hi fellow Snow Angels,
Congratulations to everyone with losses this week. Everyone keep up the great work.
It has been a very busy week at work so far and finally have some free time to get on here and get caught up.
I have been doing really well this week. I have stayed within my points and have been drinking 96 oz of water each day. It has been really hot here but still have managed to get in my daily walks.
Everybody have a great day.
Lizzie B 07-24-02, 09:29 PM Hi Snow Angels,
Gee I am really with it today, I forgot to weigh in!! Actually I weighed in Sunday morning and starting next week I will weigh in Wednesdays. I have lost 3 more pounds which brings my total up tp 35 lbs. I am hoping for another drop Sunday morning then I switch to Wednesday. No big deal since I already reported this once but wanted to stay with the weigh in day!!
Aj the trip sounds wonderful!! Will be nice for you to see your family again. You are right Charlie's Angels can't hold a candle to us!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sandie, We are going to have to jump start you jolliness with cables if you don't start feeling better!! I will be right over with a small ax and we will get that door open!! Hey we all have those times when something just isn't right and can't quite put our finger on it!! This too shall pass!!!!! I promise.
Somedays I am not sure where my energy comes from but I do know that I am determined to change my life. I will also never never give in no matter what!! I spent a lot of days in my life feeling sorry for myself, angry, frustrated and highly stressed and I refuse to allow those negatives to control my life. I want to be happy and enjoy the rest of my life and that is how I start the day! Feeling happy and joyful helps restore my energy at the beginning of each day!! I just won't stay down for long!! Power of positive thinking!!!:D :D
Ellan, Good job on staying within your points and drinking the water!!! Good for you for taking those walks in the summer heat!! Excellent!!!!!!!!!
Everyone have a peaceful night!! Watch out for the munchies!!!
Love and hugs,
Lizzie
shapenup 07-25-02, 08:10 AM Good Morning Everyone!
Stacey, you had a wonderful loss! Be thrilled with it! Pull a few cans out of the cupboard that weigh the equivalent to your loss and say, "Wow! That is gone from my body this week!" I'm now quite content with a 1/4 or 1/2 lb loss some weeks. I simply reflect on the week, the good, the bad, and the ugly and decide if it just was that way or if I need to do something else. One of my favorite weeks to laugh about is one back in June where I biked 450 miles, ate good and gained 6 lbs! Most was due to water retention, TOM, and muscle gain and when I weighed in 3 days later it was a 1/2 lb gain! :) I just said to myself "whatever, the extra muscle will help in the long run!"
Now here's a few great article summaries from Tues. Wall Street Journal! First is one titled "Being Heavy and Healthy". It basically says that if you do nothing else to improve your health, focus on EXERCISE! Forget about trying to drop pounds. Being heavy and healthy is better than being thin and sedentary! I can think of a few people that seem thin and frail while I do have energy and am athletic. (even at my highest weight). Of course the optimum is to be at your appropriate weight and exercising!
The next article rips apart the BMI and weight charts. They classify some of the stars. Sylvester Stallone, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Sammy Sosa are "obese." Come to my house obese men! :lift: I'll take you as you are! Ha-ha! Oh, and Harrison Ford, George Clooney, Bruce Willis, Mike Piazza, Brad Pitt, and Michael Jordan are all overweight too. Just like us!
Well ladies, time to get out for a walk. I have the day off and am heading to a quilt show. This is one of my favorite hobbies! But, I haven't spent much time in the sew room lately. I hope to be inspired a lot today!
StaceyJG1 07-25-02, 09:50 AM Happy Morning Snow Angels,
I see Lizzie is a sleepy-head again! :) I am very tired today. I think the stress and lack of sleep is finally catching up to me. I might go to bed early tonight. I usually wait up for my hubby and don't get to bed until after midnight, and get up at 6 in the morning!
I didn't do any exercise yesterday, but I don't think I planned to. I had my daughter's social worker come out yesterday to discuss her progress and sign some more paperwork. Fun! Then I went to our land to see the progress there. They have the cement pad down now, and the power is there, just have to wait for the electric company to turn it on and put up a phone pole. Then had some packing and cleaning to do. And of course, the chat last night!
So, my goals for today are:
1) Drink Water
2) Stay on points
3) Ride bike
4) Pack
5) Early bed???
Have a great day everyone!
Blondee49 07-25-02, 10:12 AM Hey Janet! That's funny about the HARD week you put in and a 6 # gain! It's good you can laugh about it and see it as a muscle gain and put things in perspective! I'll take a couple of those Hunky dudes with Muskels too! They can wash my car, do my ironing and tote groceries in!
Woohoo Lizzie and Luci and others with losses to report! The munch monster force fed me fritos so I'm in trouble. I'll be better today (the monster is on his way to see Mini-Me in Florida).
I don't have TOM to worry about but wonder if the mood swings and craziness I get into are any reflection of old TOM's??
I think it's just rebellion, personally. I'm "honest" about it on my food plan......what I eat goes on the list, I've gotta work on the NO-ing me part and making better choices.
There's the saying in OA: HALT.....Don't allow yourself to become too Hungry,Angry,Lonely or Tired. I get hungry, whiny and tired!
The Lonely isn't much of a problem.
Liz, I will post some tips from the book as I come to 'em. I ran off and left my goodies at the office but since I'm working tomorrow, I'll get 'em then. I didn't wanna go back to the office last night as I was HWT!
I've gotta run to the store, then tackle my housework. I'll put some music on to inspire me.
Have a great day all.
Take good care of you!
Brenda
:tomato: :o
shapenup 07-25-02, 11:20 AM Here's today's goals. I did o.k. on yesterdays goals- missed some because I didn't have enough time after work for everything, but did accomplish lots....vacuuming, 11 miles of 17 planned were biked, 1.5 mile walk, 15 minutes of working out my arms. The most critical one was to get something done at work that barely got touched. This will cost me part of the day off I'd planned for tomorrow. I trouble shoot lots of things and lots of new trouble showed up at work yesterday!
I'm pushing for a great week and a wonderful loss to report next Tuesday. Hope all you Angels can do the same!
Thurs. Goals:
1. Bike 29 miles (18 done)
2. Walk 3 miles (1.5 done)
3. Rollerblade 3 miles
4. Spend no less than 3 hrs at the quilt show (torture!)
5. Keep calories between 1500-1800
6. Eat 24 grams of fiber

Good morning. I'm running along smoothly this week. Have stayed on plan so far.
Today's goals:
1) exercise - 20 minutes of walking in. Will do some walking over lunch and maybe again this evening when it gets cooler. No gym for me today as it is my active rest day.
2) eat only planned foods and stay within my points range - I have been trying to plan out my foods at the beginning of the day and only eat what I have already thought out. It is working so far.
3) eat at least 5 servings of fruits & veggies - I have planned in for 7 so it should be a good day.
4) drink at least 8 glasses of water - 2 down, 6 to go
5) do some gardening to straighten up for company on Sunday.
Have a great day all.
Luci
ajmarble 07-25-02, 01:42 PM I "WAS" having a good morning, but when I went to go and get my breakfast, I found a little mousey in my pantry!!!! YUCK!!! I have never had a mouse in my house (to my knowledge anyways), and I HATE them!!!!!!!!! Gross, Gross!!! I am scared to even go near the pantry, because I hate them that much.:c(
I put a sticky trap. and some mouse killer stuff in there. I took everything out from the bottom shelf too.....aaahhhhhhX-(
Enough about the yucky rodent.....I am doing well this morning. I have stayed on track, and just got done having breakfast...kashi golean, and some cantaloupe. Yummy! I got up and did 15 min on the nordictrack (and I upped the tension too), and burned 250 calories on just that. Then I did the basic Tae Bo (30 min), and got on the stationary bike for 15 min, and rode 4 miles on that. That is a typical workout for me, but I was proud of myself though, because with adjusting the tension on the nordictrack, it made it a bit harder to get through those 15 min! But, I did it!! I hope that working a little harder this week, will make me see a loss. I sure could use that!! You kinda get a little discouraged sometimes, when you don't see a loss...BUT I will NOT give up!!! I have come too far!! I am also going to go to water aerobics this evening...I didn't get to go last time. I always feel better after that.
I got some more things done around here yesterday, but not the vacuuming...so I will have to do that today. I will have to try and KILL that mouse too!!
I hope that all of you will have a great day, and here are some   for all of you...share them...there is enough to go around for everyone!!! Take care of YOU today, and see you all soon.............
Lizzie B 07-25-02, 02:15 PM Morning Snow Angels!!!!!!
Just barely morning!! Boy I am having a time getting up and staying up. Got up at 6:40 and son was still home which is unusual and then found out he was taking the day off. So had some coffee and fell asleep again. Then really slept in.
For some odd reason I am terribly thirsty. Keep
drinking water but that doesn't seem to quinch my thirst!! But I will keep at it!! Already drank a lot of water and some coffee.
How is everyone today???? I feel great and ready to face the day and stay on program. I don't know for sure if I will do any exercising because my back is giving me some trouble this am. I could only do 20 minutes on the bike yesterday because of it. But I will wait and see!!
Wow you guys are up and on the go and I am just barely crawling along!! Lizzie better get on the ball!! Get that energy level up and roaring!!! :coach: Get that body moving and that brain thinking!!

shapenup 07-26-02, 07:02 AM Hi Angels! Thanks Lizzie for your daily words of encouragement. I feel like I've won the gold metal at the Olympics!:lift: Yesterday was really special. I hit all of my goals except for the rollerblading one. Ran out of sunlight and was tired. I'm sort of afraid of these things and am trying to get over that...but am not going to do it near dusk or when I'm tired.
Last year at this time, when I got fed up and began this trek I was a size 20. Yesterday, I bought a bunch of clothes that are size 12 and medium tops, etc. Larges are too big! This is what I wore in high school. The legs and butt have too much wobbly fat on them yet to look like high school. But, I feel great! :)
A lady I ran into the quilt show was really confused when she saw me. She thought I was Janet, but wasn't sure because of the weight loss. We talked for about 10 minutes. Finally, she asked if I was Janet, just to confirm that she was really talking to who she thought she was! Boy does that ever feel good! She said my face is what really had her confused because it is so much thinner...but my voice was the same!
Todays Goals:
1. Calorie count 1500-1800 calories.
2. Bike ride - 11 miles.
3. Walk 1.5 miles with Charlie dog, my personal trainer
4. Accomplish lots at work and leave early (I was supposed to be off today!)
5. After I get out of work early...rollerblade 3 miles!
6. Clean the bathrooms! Yuk!:(
7. Do some vacation planning
8. Make an appt with consignment shop for fall clothes and start cleaning out the closets!
Have a great day everyone! I'll share my Olympic Gold!
Blondee49 07-26-02, 09:39 AM Hello all-o!
Happy Friday! Our bosses are leaving today for a week out of town and yep.........we will play just a LITTLE! None of us get out of line much, I promise.
Janet, it is neat when folks notice the changes in us. Did it make going to the thing more worthwhile? Did it lessen the "torture"?!
Lizzie.........I read whin-ning and it was WINNING in your post! I had to look again! LOL! I guess 'cuz I've been doing some.....mostly to myself, trying to pry my butt off the sofa. I was sick Tuesday, worked Wednesday, sloughed off yesterday so TODAY.........I'm back on the wagon. I broke a nail grabbing the tail end of it as you all whizzed by!
Sandilynn, I hope you're feeling better really soon. Pain is difficult to ignore when it's a constant companion. So many of us have conditions that contribute to it and will all have bad days.
Coming here each day gives me the spiritual and emotional lift I need to carry me through the worst of 'em. You all are such a blessing to me! Knowing I'm not "alone" makes a tremendous difference in how well I cope!
Gotta run...........throw myself together for work!
Have a great day everyone! Stacey, Katie, Luci,
Ms. Lizzie.......our fearless leader! I know I'm missing an angel here and there...........Be good! (talkin' to SELF!)
Brenda
StaceyJG1 07-26-02, 11:09 AM Happy Friday Little Angels!!
Lizzie was the early bird today!
Janet, congrats on the awesome job you've done. You should be very proud of yourself. Size 12! Wow, I can only dream. At my thinnest (200-ish) I was pushing into a 14. I don't think I've ever worn a 12! There's always hope.
Brenda, I hope you're feeling better today. Sometimes we have to listen to our bodies. They know what we can and cannot do. My boss has been gone since last thursday, so we've been slouching a little bit. Like right now!! Just don't get in trouble.
Today is date night with my two boys, so I won't be exercising, except to walk through the mall to the theater! No candy. I will have popcorn and diet soda. I love popcorn.
Goals for today:
1) Water-extra before tonight
2) Stay on points-low end
3) Have fun and appreciate boys
4) Ignore ex when I pick up baby from karate!!
5) NO JELLY BEANS!!
Have a great Friday everyone, and keep up the good work!!
Good morning fellow angels!!! Glad its Friday. I'm ready for that weekend to get here.
Lizzie- Are you still thirsty, are you getting all your water in? Did you somehow get dehydrated? Am glad you are feeling better and have more energy.
Shapenup - Yeah for you in hitting your goals. Doesn't it just make you want to keep going when you get such positive feedback? Way to go on your efforts.
Brenda - while the cats away ... Glad you are back on the wagon. Now get movin!! :D
Today's goals:
1) exercise - had a great workout this morning: 35 minutes on the elliptical ( I upped the resistance and burned 444 cals), 2 sets of LBWT, 100 crunches and some nice stretching. Am starting to see the difference in my tummy from all the crunches. Woohoo.
2) drink 8 glasses of water (at least) 3 down, 5 to go.
3) eat at least 5 servings of fruits and vegetables
4) stay within my points and only eat planned foods
5) pray and focus on the positive instead of the negative that seems to be hovering over our house recently.
Have a great day and a great weekend.
Luci
sandielynne 07-26-02, 01:34 PM Hello fellow Snow people!
For once I got in here at a more civil time of day, but it would have been difficult for any of us to beat Ms Lizzie this morning. Most of us do sleep during the very early AM hours........LOL
I was up and out and walking though about 6:30 am this morning. And by the time Regis and Kelly were on, I was already vacuuming the house. Of course, it took me longer than usuall because I had to keep stopping to see what was going on with the "Hunkiest Husband" contest they were having. At least it was amusing...............
Hubby is going to be gone to the horse auction later today. So I will be on my own. That leaves a lot of room for temptation to kick in, but there's nothing in the house to tempt me but fresh fruit and good stuff. Even the popsicles in the freezer and the sugar free kind. What a dull kitchen I have. Oh well, safer that way too.
I am feeling much better today. I have "conquered" my pain. It's still there, but I am stronger than it is today. I have to keep it that way. And on my walk this morning I took the time and made the effort to rescue a fat little red eft from either a hungry bird or a nasty car. He was crossing the road, and right in the middle. They can't move very fast, you know? I mean, when you are only like 2" long, 6 feet to travel is a days worth of walking for an eft......LOL And he was such a fat little bugger, I just knew a bird was going to snatch him up if he didn't get into cover fast. So I put him in the grass as the side of the road. I did my "good" deed for the day...............LOL.
My goals for today:
DRINK my water
STAY on program
walk (done)
vacuum (done)
You are all doing great, and I have enjoyed being in your company.
Ms Lizzie, will see you in chat tonight!
Take care everyone. Enjoy!~Enjoy!~Enjoy!!

ajmarble 07-26-02, 06:13 PM It has been a nice day here today...I am doing well, and have gotten my exercise in. I am getting things ready to go away for the week, so...just so you know I won't be here next week, but I will be thinking of all you, and how wonderful you WILL be doing!!:D
I am thinking that when I get back, the scales will have gone down. I will be staying on plan, plus doing lots of extra exercise. In the mornings, I will be doing the usual, minus the nordictrack. Then I will also be swimmming on most of the days while I am gone. Then in the evening I will walk every night with mother-in-law, and possibly father-in-law...and of course pushing my daughter in the stroller. SO....as you can see I will be much more active than I am here at home. I just don't have anywhere to walk around my house. There is too much traffic, and hubby doesn't want my daughter and I walking on this road, and the mall is 70 miles away. I guess that is why I should invest in those Leslie Sansone tapes. Ya think???? hehe LOL......
Well....I am feeling good about this upcoming week, and am looking forward to seeing my hubby's family, and my sister, and her little family...especially my niece...she is almost 1...she takes precedence over her mama!!! Don't babies always do that???? LOL
I will be in here to post tomorrow...hope you all have a great weekend...if I don't "see" ya tomorrow..."see" ya next weekend!
BTW...I am hoping I can make it to WW chat tonight...even though I don't do WW...I gotta come in and see Lizzie, and Sandie....and all you others!! Hope to see you there!
ajmarble 07-26-02, 06:15 PM Do you like my new avatar over there <----------- (tiger picture)???? My daughter who is 2 months shy of being three colored it all by herself!! I am so proud of her! Just had to point that out!! LOL:o
sandielynne 07-26-02, 08:07 PM Hey AJ,
Hope you have a GREAT time next week visiting hubby's family and seeing that baby niece of yours.
Your daughter's tiger pic is just PERFECT! Thanks for pointing it out to us. Give her a A+ for that one.
Hope to see you in WW chat tonight also. Take care.
Hugz

shapenup 07-27-02, 09:05 AM Good morning everyone. Just got back from an early a.m. walk with my hubby and PT charlie dog. Its pretty humid and we used the umbrellas for the 1st part of the walk. Did ok on yesterday's goals...the critical ones were accomplished. Walked, calorie intake, and closet cleaning. I have lots ready to deliver to goodwill and consignment shops. Tossed some stuff too! I skipped the bicycling...muscles were a bit achy and so I gave them a break. I think this is more due to fatigue related to PMS more than anything else. But, the body was talking so I listened!
Thanks everyone for all the positive words and feedback. I've had a banner week and am on top of the world at the moment. Lots of self-confidence and can just see that goal out there waiting to be found! I wore one of the outfits I bought Wednesday and had lots of compliments. One coworker came up to me and said "I almost didn't know who you were." That two in 2 days. I guess this tells me that the transformation I've gone through has really been pretty dramatic. Its hard to notice by yourself.
Goals for the day:
1. Delivery to Goodwill
2. Calories 1500-1800
3. Make some homemade veggie soup
4. Walk 3 miles (1.5 done)
5. Bike 17 miles
6. Rollerblade 3 miles
I also target water and fiber as goals, but this is so routine that I don't need to list it anymore. Both are pretty critical to health. If you're looking for a great fiber source...all bran or fiber one will get you 11-13 grams of fiber for the day. I start every morning out with all bran extra fiber. This gives me 13 of the 24 grams needed.
Have a great day!
Lizzie B 07-27-02, 03:12 PM Good Morning Snow Angels!!!
Woke up to a beautiful rainy day!! Finally getting a few drops of rain that we need so desperately. Most of the rain is going south or north of us but once in a while a drop or two stay here.
Today is my DH's first day of vacation and of course we aren't going anywhere. Have to work on the house and get some minor things done before the appraisor comes next week. Was suppose to be here last week but didn't show. Now we have a couple of days to get a couple of small things done. Seems like it is always something.
I have no big plans for today other than grocery shopping this afternoon and getting healthy foods so I won't be tempted to eat unhealthy. Don't know about exercises this afternoon or not!! Think I better start planning my day!!!!!!!!!
My goals for today:
1. grocery shop
2. stay on program
3. exercise!!!!!!!!
4. work on the basement
5. work in garden
6. watch Busch race
7. trim dogs nails!!!!!
Okay that feels better now I have some goals to accomplish!! Wow just realized how much I depend on making those goals each day!! That was an eye opener!!!!!
Now to find that energy and determination!! Hmmmmm where did I put it???? Oh I know right where I would always find it!!!!!!
Are you all ready for the challenges of the day?? Why not?? Have to keep our bodies moving and our mind fresh!! December is coming soon!! I know I am going to be ready to tackle each day and WIN!!!!!!! These pounds don't stand a chance against a determined Lizzie!! I promise!!!!!
I am sick and tired of feeling like this and I am going to change this feeling into HAPPY AND FIT!!!!!! I will do my exercises and eat healthy food because that is the only way to achieve my goals!!! A positive attitude?? You bet that is the only attitude that works for me!
Yes I am coming out fighting this morning!! Since the weekends seem to be a little harder than the rest of the week I really need to get a grip.:coach: Okay now I have a plan of attack so get started!!!!
Hope you all have a wonderful day and accomplish all you set out to do.
Shapenup, sounds like your day started out super. Wow what an excellent week!! Good idea with the Goodwill and consignment shops!! Love you exercise program!! Hope to some day be at your level of fitness!! You bet I am working on it!!
Okay everyone up and at em!!!
Love and hugs,
Lizzie:D :tomato: :D
sandielynne 07-27-02, 03:21 PM Hello everyone!
Having another difficult day. Actually I'm feeling alright, just the hip won't listen to my mind. It just keeps hurting with every move, and I'm afraid that doesn't encourage much walking or anything else, for that matter.
The weather is beautiful. Sunny, a nice breeze and not too hot. I should be doing the laundry, but just can't get myself to go down and back up the basement steps today. Hubby had a 4H horse show today and was gone at 6 am, so he's not here to help me like he usually does. I can't wait until the washer at least is upstairs. Supposedly, this fall. My fingers are crossed........real hard!
My goals for today:
DRINK my water
STAY on program
REST up and hope for the best
Have a great day everyone. Enjoy!~Enjoy!~Enjoy!!
Sandie
ajmarble 07-27-02, 03:58 PM BUT that doesn't mean I won't be staying on program. I plan do do more exercising than I normally do here at home. I just wanted to pop in and tell all of you I will be thinking of you while I am gone, and I hope that you all do well with staying on track!! I know you will...it just takes determination. I KNOW we ALL can do this....Well, I must be going . Have a great week, and take care. Here are some    to last through the week ;) Take care.......
Lizzie B 07-27-02, 04:59 PM AJ,
Have a safe and wonderful trip!! Enjoy!! Enjoy!! Thanks for leaving the hugs behind I was needing one this morning!!
Have super fun time!!!!!!!!!!!
Love and higs,
Lizzie
StaceyJG1 07-27-02, 05:11 PM Happy Saturday Snow Angels,
Today started out awesome! I weighed in at 261! I have lost 65 pounds!! That just amazes me. I still have quite some way to go, but this really helped boost me.
Did a lot already today:
4 loads of laundry - washed, folded & put away
Processed all sales that needed done (internet business)
Bank
Post office
Tanning
Took pizza to my boys (cutting down trees on our new land)
Still have to take my oldest son to Aldi's, get fresh produce for us, go to Kmart, pack, pack, pack
I'm doing really well staying on points, so I don't need that for a goal, or the water. I really don't have any goals for today but to get done as much as I can!
Have a great weekend!!
shapenup 07-27-02, 06:47 PM Hi everyone! Just thought I'd check back in. Made a vegetable frittata this morning (from recipe postings). It was pretty good and low cal too! The dogs loved the scrapings from the pan!
Lizzie-Your day sounds like mine....errands, exercise and cleaning. I'm about 3 hrs south of you in Indy. We had a little rain this a.m. and its been hot and humid all day. No lakeshore breezes down here!
AJ- have a great vacation!
Stacey- Way to go on your loss!
Sandie - Hope your hip is better soon. Can you do exercises with your arms? Just an idea! My back is bugging me. I try to ignore it and find that I forget about it when I move around.
Well, we've gone to the grocery store, goodwill, and other shops. Got the bike ride in. Did some wash. Still need to do the rollerblading and 2nd walk. I think I'm going to chill out a bit with a good book until the sun goes down some.
Janet
Blondee49 07-28-02, 09:18 AM Hello all!
Safe journey to AJ and loads of fun! I took one of the hugs too Lizzie!
Stacey!! WONDERFUL!!!! 65 pounds gone for good! Woohoo!
That's great and you worked hard for every one of 'em!
Janet.....I too, aspire to your workout routine. I did 5 minutes on my cardio glide machine and it felt like 20. I would be really proud of me to get to that point!
I managed 6 miles this past week and little else. That's ok. Today is a brand new day! Tomorrow starts a brand new week and we're off and running!
Sandie.........hope today shows an improvement w/ the hip pain. I had a groin pull that felt like my hip, but pain would shoot down to the knee even........took 9 months to heal. I'm still not as limber as I used to be but know that forcing movement can cause further damage so please take care of yourself, do what you can...............and let yourself rest and heal.
Lizzie! Your posts are so enthusiastic, inspiring and encouraging! You put a smile on my face and bring joy to my heart on a daily basis! I am SO glad to be a part of this group! Can I sit at the front of the wagon with you, so I won't fall out again?
I finally......thank God!, saw the last regained pound take a hike. I swear I have been up and down 3 times in as many weeks and am gonna get the hang of this yet! So......back to 207 and it's going DOWN this next week.
I stopped by the Farmer's Market on the way to work yesterday. I only got cantelope and red onions but saw other stuff I wanted so next week will go early enough I can ramble about a bit! I want okra, tomatoes, peppers........some were saying how the grass hoppers destroyed their beans, peas and corn. That is so sad. All that hard work and expense.
I found a recipie for Cabbage hash I'm gonna make. Uses cabbage, onions, red and green bell peppers, new potatatos, chicken breast. Sounded good and I need the veggies.
I've got laundry in and am glad to mark that chore off my list.
You all have a great day and have some time set aside for just you!
Brenda:water: :lift: :ex: :bubbles:
shapenup 07-28-02, 12:12 PM Hi Angels! I hit all Sat. goals except making veggie soup yesterday. Its a hot one here. I darted out the door and got a 1.5 mile walk, 18 mile bike ride, and 3 miles of rollerblading in this a.m. in about 2.5 hrs. At 9:40 my husband and I walked back into the airconditioned house and we're staying in! I'll walk again this evening and maybe do my short 11 mile ride around 6 pm. But, no more exercise outside before then.
Thanks everyone for the compliments on the exercise. You all CAN do this too. I started out by committing myself to a 1.5 mile walk each day. Before that I was good for 1.5 miles at least 3-4 times a week. I boost my walking mileage in the winter when I don't bike. (Although my winter biking clothes from 15 yrs ago just about fit again and WILL when I need them so...expect this to continue!) Biking is my love and I generally ride 15-18 mph. A tough day is about 70 plus miles in heat like today. If anyone is watching the tour de france as it finishes today...these guys will average about 31 mph through the flats. (And Lance will win! He's got a 7 minute lead and that is huge!)
My inspiration to exercise is largely driven by some folks in their 60's and 70's that basically "kick my butt" on a bike. I'm tired of admiring them from behind and want to be one of them in 25-35 more years and ride with them now! These folks are fit and fascinating and generally ride 6000 plus miles per year. (I'll ride 3000-4000 this year). I had great fun riding with a man in June that was in his mid 60's. He had to slow down to ride with me!!! We rode at a 17-21 mph pace one day for 72 miles....the fastest I've ever gone in my life! This guy was the oldest of the group I was riding with and he could outride any of us! We were fighting to draft him!
Goals for today:
1. Bike 18 miles -done
2. Walk 3 miles - 1/2 done
3. Rollerblade 3 miles - done
4. Clean clutter for 1 hr or more
5. Take it easy on the Chinese buffet (high quality Chinese buffet, served Sunday lunch only)
6. Calories 1500-1800.
7. Make veg. soup that didn't get made yesterday
StaceyJG1 07-28-02, 12:52 PM Super Sunday Snow Angels!!
Not much to report today. Took my youngest son home this morning so that he could go to Darien Lake with his dad (had to give up part of my weekend visitation though :(). My oldest son went home last night, and my hubby is out cutting and clearing trees on our new land, so -- I'm home all alone!! I LOVE IT!! I've been packing, throwing things away, washing, listening to the DISCO station on the radio!! Nobody will let me listen to it when they're around, so I'm blasting it! Disco Duck!!
Goals for today:
1) Eat on low end of points (overdid a bit yesterday, used banked points, no "real" exercise)
2) Pack my file cabinets
3) Pack my closets
4) Pack -- something else!! (lots of packing to do!!)
5) Have a nice dinner with hubby
Have a great Sunday everyone. Enjoy your day!!
