Well here we go, today was a good day. I can tell I am getting stronger coming back from the flu. I rode my bike today to work that was a nice change(it is not to far) I drank my 100 oz of water and I stayed right at the low end of my point range 20-26. I really believe that this web site is going give me just what it takes to get this last 10lbs off. I have tried for so long. But my motivation just keeps getting off track I workout but I over eat. Not anymore!!! I started a new plan about drinking my water. I love Diet Pepsi and I sometimes drink two or three 44 ouncers a day. I like to have it instead of coffee. So you can see if I am drinking that much pop there is no way I will drink enough water. So I made myself a deal. If after I drink 64 oz of water then I can have one 44 ounce pop and that is it. Then later I will drink the rest of my water.
Well I am looking forward to the weekend. To finally feel better (flu) and be able to get outside. My wife and I are going for a Mt bike ride in the morning I am really looking forward to it. I have missed it. I did three twenty min runs this week just trying do something but not do to much and get sick all over again. Hope fully next week I will be back to my normal hour runs. I miss them too. Funny I didn’t think I would ever say that. …. I have set a goal to run in this Run/race up the Ski Hill in Sun Valley ID on 8-24-02. So I need to get some more hill runs in. I guess after we run up to the top we get to ride down to the chair lift! Cool good on the legs. I am guessing the run should be about an hour. Well it is something that helps me to get my a… off this couch and take my dogs out for run. What ever it takes I want to reach my goal.155!! Well by for now all. Enjoy the day
Eat light, train hard and avoid tv and people with bad attitudes!!

hey Gary,
i just posted to you at the goal board and saw your journal here, so thought i would stop by and say hi again :)
i have had the flu too and havent been to the gym in 2 weeks...i normally go 4 times a week so i am suffering withdrawal and looking forward to being 100% better.
good luck with lowering your goal weight, you have had much success already so i am sure you will get to 155. i am doing the same after maintaining my current goal weight of 143 for 2 years.
we can do this!
hugs bell :)

Hi Gary,

I'm with you on the soda. I love MtDew, bad bad bad. And once I start drinking it, forget water for the day. So I too made a deal with myself to drink all my water before I have a soda, some days I feel so watery that I don't have any desire at all for the soda after drinking all my water.

Don't worry about the days when you overeat, it's done and you can't change it, but you can learn from it. Try writting down exactly how the overeating made you feel, physically and emotionally and why you did it. Then next time before you overeat, read the letter to yourself, and realize it's a circle that ou will be repeating. I hope that helps you out.

I like the way you think just for today attitude. I have heard the same kind of thinking in the WW24 hour challenge. It is so good live for today and live it well. Be kind to one self. Thanks Liss.
Well back today’s Journal I have had a great WW goal day I woke up early and my wife and I worked out together. She rode her Mt. Bike and I ran. It was very cool she is about 220 and it is new for her to ride up hill she did great. This is something I hope we can much more together. I love working out with her. The great thing about her riding and me running is that we both get what we need. I felt better today still not 100% but better. We did a hill trail run for about 45 min. I went for a Mt bike ride of my own later in the day. So over all I worked out for about 1 ½ hours today. That was enough. I went easy on both workouts. Just wanting to get my legs back under me after the flu.
I did good with eating I have stayed under my low end of my points so far. It is about 11pm so if I don’t get crazy this will be a great point day. I know I can. I am really determine to get to 155. I know that it will take some time. But it will happen. I seem to have gotten the motivation back that I had when I started WW and was able to lose the first 40.
Oh yea I also made a new goal of going to the gym 2 days a week it seems really hard for me to do both running/biking types of workouts and lifting weights. I don’t want to get big just tone up my shoulders and arms. Oh yea and abs. Last week I did the weight workout two times on my off days from running. Well I am digging this journaling. Good

Good morning everyone. I just need some support this morning. I had a rough night. I could not sleep. This happens at least once every two weeks. I tried to go to sleep about midnight and I could not sleep, my mind just kept racing. Nothing bad is going on. I was thinking about many good things, things that happened yesterday things I want to do today. Then I just keep getting hungry. I tried to limit my self but I ate three bowls of Special K cereal. I know I could have made a lot worst choice. But I did not realize that each bowl was 3 points. I think that I would have better off eating three big apples. At least it would have been less points. I actually though about it but I wondered if the apples would keep me up with the sugary stuff in them. In my past I know that I would have eaten chips or a huge block of cheese. I think that it is or was easier for me to eat protein and then go to sleep. This really frustrates me that at Midnight I was at 21 points and when I finally went to sleep I was at 30. My points range is 20 to 27. I sure could use some ideas on what you all do if this happens to you. Well time to get rolling on the day I will check back in later.
Goals for the Day
Wake up!
Listen to some spiritual music
Write in my journal
Run 40- 50 min at med pace with my dogs, flat today no hills
Drink 64 oz of water before I have any pop, 100oz water for the day
Stay below 23 points
Work on listening better to my wife
Put new carpet shampoo machine together that I have had for 3 months and use it!
Wash truck.
And check back into you folks later in the day.

Well I am again grateful that I have a place to work on all this stuff. I am blown away how just taking the time to write this stuff out makes me feel better. I accept today’s 24 hour challenge! Gary

Gary,

Congratulations on making it to goal weight! I have been reading that you want to lose another ten pounds, and that's great. You will get there if you want it bad enough! It's great that you do so much exercise, and that you can do it together with your wife.

I have a long way (weigh?) to go before I'll be at goal, but that's ok because I have come a long way already! Reading inspiring stories, like yours, really help. Kind of scares me though, that this will be a life long struggle. You know what you need to do, and how to do it, and you're still struggling. You're human! What a concept!

Have a great day and keep up the good work!

Hello Gary, :)

And welcome to DT. It's always good to see another new face around here. I don't know if anyone has told you or not, but on Friday night, 9 pm Eastern time, there is a WW chat in the scheduled chat room. Please, come and introduce yourself this coming Friday, and join us. Chat is usually 1 hour. I may not be there myself because I'll be away, but I will try.

Congratulations on reaching your goal weight in the first place, and I'm sure if you could do that and maintain it, there is no doubt at all that you can lose another 10 lbs with enough determination and support. We all need a lot of both.

I have a terrible time getting my water in most days. But this past week has been so hot, it hasn't been very difficult at all. I have promised myself a diet pepsi, only after getting my water in. But I very seldom get to drink the diet pepsi. It is usually bed time by the time I finish that last glass of water that is required. Oh well, that just means that when I do have it, I appreciate it all that much more......LOL.

I like the way you and your wife exercise together. I am trying to get up the nerve to try and ride my bike. I was doing well 2 years back, then I quit smoking and gained so much weight that right now I'm a bit intimidated. I'll probably be giving it a try very soon though. I really want to ride bad. My hubby and I used to ride together every day, but he is so busy with the haying right now that there is no time for bike riding on his part.

You take care now. Happy to have you aboard.

Sandie :)
