No not my birthday but celebrate just being home. Got up to laundry, laundry, laundry. Drinking some ice water and doing the mountain of clothes I brought home.

Weather was beautiful, and the hotel with a water park that the kids loved. Got in late on Monday and they played in water and then indoor pool and hot tub. Ate pizza and bed.

The next day I had to go to a time sharing thing---and the 3 kids went to Dollywood, but can you believe it FREE. I couldn't sleep Monday night and so in the back of the lobby is a dining area where they serve a free huge breakfast of Krisby Kreme's sweet rolls and muffins and cereal and oatmeal and biscuit and gravy. Bananas on the side. Anyway was sitting back there waiting for the coffee, and another early riser/vacationer came down and started talking about the hotel and where we planned to go. I told him I was taking the kids to Dollywood today and he said he had been and it was great. After his cup of coffee he got up and left.

As I was drinking my 2 or 3rd cup, this man came back over to my table and handed me his 4 tickets to DOLLYWOOD saying he and his wife had bought these 3 day passes and there was one day left on them. He said he was leaving and so couldn't use the passes. So the kids had a great time. And no, I didn't get into time sharing.

They came home and went to a very dirty and crowded Golden Corral. It was the one real disappointment but they were so hungry that they ate there anyway. Then they played in the hotel water park till almost midnight.

Next day, they played in the water park after eating big breakfast, and then off to the mountains for white water rafting,
and I had gotten this as part of the time sharing mess and so got the more advanced trip, and no I didn't go. I went to Tennessee Taco and ate while they were at the rapid. They drive them up near NC and they come down in a raft. They LOVED it, it was the best part of the vacation for them. I bought the picture on the raft for $20 and a T-shirt for another $20. The T-shirt is for Christmas as a surprise. Since I didn't pay for the trip, thought it would be great for my son to have some real mementos.

Later came back and my son went to the water park while my neice went shopping and I took a shower with the kids out of the hotel room. Then we all went to Dixie Stampede. The food was not great. But the show was adorable and anyone with kids would love it. Came back to hotel, and me and my son went to the indoor pool and hot tub. Then to bed.

Got up the next day late. Packed and went shopping for 1.5 hr and then on THE ROAD AGAIN. Gratefully uneventful. Dropped my neice and her boyfriend off in near Evansville and an hr later drove home to Louisville.

Due to the time sharing aspect, the trip was very affordable. Especially throwing in Dollywood free.

Better scoot,

Had yogurt and grapenuts for breakfast with water.
Gonna make some coffee

Got to go to the grocery and get some milk.

Have jet lag from being on the road 8 hr. But have to leave for work in about 6 hr. So much to do and so little time.

On the run,

Donna:wave:

What great luck you had in getting those tickets for free. Must be part of that "what goes around comes around" deal. Sounds like a really nice vacation. Glad it was so affordable. I sometimes have to remind myself that you don't have to spend a boatload of money to have fun!!
