Goooooooooooooooood Morning Snow Angels,
Did the weekend fly for you??? Went so fast for me that I felt like I was in a spin!! My grandson Tyler has been here since Saturday and we have been busy!! We made blackberry jam all day Sunday. He learned how much work goes into making one jar of jam. He was so surprised!! But he was so much fun and I let him help cook the jam and everything. Sure I could have made it in half the time but it takes time to make memories.
His mom is so sweet and tells him how lucky he is that I let him help because she knows how picky I am. Gosh I have known her since she was 13. She sure is a sweetie.
Goals for today:
Stay on Program
Walk
Drink fluids
Do some banking business
rest today
show more patience with myself and others
Listen when my DH tells me something
watch for the possibilities to catch people doing good
Now I have a plan for today all I need to do is get on the ball and get started. Time is flying and I need to buckle down and work harder on my goals. I am already seeing signs of fall!!!!:snow: Well maybe not snow at 92 degrees but if I try hard enough I can bring back those memories of snow!!
I realize that I am losing very slowly but the thing is I am losing!! You may have noticed that I took my stats off the profile. I realized one day that everytime I looked at the stats that all I was seeing was how much weigh I still had to lose. So I am giving myself a break and not posting my stats for while. When I am able to look at the stats and see my success instead of what I need to do them I will put them back. You know it isn't the big things that get you down is a constant barrage of little things.!!!
Well just shook out my determination and motivation and now doing the spit and polish. I do find it so necessary to refresh them each day!! Now that are packing in the energy!!!!
Well my dear Angels what have you noticed about yourself lately?? Are you more motivated and more determined to get your 12/31/02 goals completed?? Have you fallen into the blahs due to end of summer and starting of school? Or are you ready to kick start this day and show yourself and the world who is in control????????????
You know which one I am ready to do!!!! Yep you got it going to blow this day out of the water and get it started and be soooooooo successful!!! Time is flying and I don't want to get to December and say "Gee I wish would have tried harder". I want to get to December and say "Look at me I did it!!!! I accomplished my goal!!!!" Woweeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee.
Alright lets get the bodies in motion and challenge ourselves to make today the best Monday ever. I am here:cheer: :cheer: us all on!! Let us get it done with STYLE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

shapenup 08-12-02, 08:36 AM Lizzie- Yes, I'm going for goal by new year's and I'll get there. This week may or may not end in a loss. I'm thinking positive and working hard until tues night. Today is my last full day away from home and from my normal routine.
Stacey-You go girl! Keep up that biking! 5 miles out on the mountain bike I'm borrowing has been the most I've gotten in here. Can't wait to see the road bike again. Its so much faster! You're doing great for the mileage you're putting in for the time you're out on the bike. You're burning mega calories!
Bren- I'm going to try the one leg on the scale routine at weigh in on Tues! I may need this! Don't know for sure. LOL!
Today's goals-walk 3 miles or more. Bike ride 5 or more miles with mom. Calorie limit 1500-1800 for the day. Enjoy last full day of visit!

Janet, when I have to get on the scale at the once a year Dr's visit, I whine and yes, put down all excess baggage, ask if I can strip down (just kiddin'!) and I put one foot up......the nurse shakes her head, says uhh uhh......both feet Missy. That's one of my goal points.....:D

Sept. 15th,(for no good reason) Oct. 15th (Dr's visit) Oct. 21st (vacation week) Nov. 15th ( gear up for Thanksgiving) Dec. 13th (Birthday) Dec. 31st WOOHOO Snow angels goal date!! Yeppers, I wanna get me whipped into shape and have more strength, stamina, JOY, fun and frolic in my life. Plus I wanna FEEL good and LOOK good. (and I wanna wear some cute stuff!) Like exercise bras and small boxers and T.....my idea of sexy nighties.8-|
Lizzie......it's good you had the time with your grandson and making memories...........great way to see it. For him and you too! You're right special!! Some of my best memories of my Dad involve cooking. He tought me how when I was 13......working summers on the Ranch. He was special too. Having patience with young'uns is a gift in today's world........with the busy-ness imposed on us by life in general.
I' geared to go today....got my walk in (2 miles) will get more later. Played only 5 min. in the hot tub as I had things to finish here before work.
I'm down 2 more! Yippee yahooty! Haven't seen 204 in awhile!!
I'm keeping track at WW tools.....activity and food logs. That's fun.

GOOD MONDAY MORNING!!!!
I love Mondays nowadays. It always gives me a chance to start fresh again. Had a shakey weekend pointswise. One thing I have noticed about myself Lizzie is that weekends are the absolute toughest for me. Have to figure out a better way to handle them. I start out with the best of intentions and usually slip anyway. I didn't slip hard, but still. Maybe I will make it a priority to check in to DT on the weekends and see if that makes a difference.
Oh well. As I said today is a new day. I got to the gym this morning for 35 minutes on the elliptical (intervals - 459 cals), 5 minutes on the track, 2 sets of LBWT, 100 crunches and stretching. Will take a walk over lunch.
Today's goals:
1) exercise: on target
2) drink lots of water: fell down on this on the weekend
3) STAY AT THE LOWER END OF POINTS
4) no sweets today - need to break the chain

shapenup 08-12-02, 11:23 AM Hi Angels! I'm back again and am off to a super start. Just finished biking 16 miles. Walked 1.5 miles and am totally in line with calories at this point.
Did anyone else see the press release regarding drinking 8 8 oz glasses of water each day. Some dr. claims its a myth...based on his studies. Says we get a lot of the liquid we need from foods we eat and that drinking all this just makes us pee lots! Claims that myth is just meant to sell more bottled water. Well...I'm drinking my 64 oz and more and yes...I'll just pee lots! Ha! Ha!

How is everybody doing today? Lizzie I wish I could say that last week went by fast, but with the heat it just seemed to drag on forever. Oh well it's the start of a new week, and I'm ready to face it.
After spending weeks of over eating, and not staying on program. Last week I finally got on track, and i'm happy to report that as of today I'm down 5.5 pounds. I was so excited when i saw the weight lose really helps to keep me motived.
goals for today are:
throughly clean my room (put everything away, dust and vacum)
do my food shopping and make sure that i stick to my list
drink 4 liters of water

I know when it was so beastly hot here the time dragged but beautiful weather like last week flew past!! I am hoping for another cool week but don't think we will get it. Wss hot yesterday about 93 and humid but I was in the house all day in the air conditioning making blackberry jam with my grandson. Now that was a trip!!

Last week flew by for me too, and this week will probably go even faster. Our county fair and rodeo starts on Tuesday and the Sheriffs Posse patrols the rodeo and fairgrounds, so on Thursday and Friday I will be doing foot patrol from 6 pm till closing. Then on Saturday I will be showing my dad's horse at the open show and then I will be going to the rodeo that evening. So I already know Sunday I will probably be sleeping all day.
I had a great weekend. Got in some horseback riding and swimming, two of my favorite activities. I did really well sticking to the lower end of points this weekend. Just didn't drink as much water as I would have liked. So that is on my list today.
Well I gotta go and get back to work, the phone is really starting to ring.

Here it is Monday already, and the beginning of a new week. I am with Lizzie, and am more determined than ever to get these last 24 pounds off. I have come to the conclusion that December 31st is sneaking up on us faster than we realize. About 2 weeks left....That means....little more than 1 lb per week, and I will be at my goal. I CAN do this. And I WILL!!!
I have gotten a lot accomplished around the house today. I have been doing laundry, changed beddings, folded laundry, did lunch and breakfast dishes, and I am getting ready to go and clean the bathrooms. I have my stamping meeting tonight, so I wanted to get everything done before I have to go to that. Hubby will be taking daughter to the circus tonight, for some special daddy/daughter time. She is so excited, but so is he!! :laugh:
Well...I am doing well, have exercised, eaten well so far, and am chug-a-lugging the water. I think this will be a great day, and am going to make it a great week!!!!

I'm back from my weekend visiting my Mother. By the way, she is doing just fine. Walking pretty good now after her back surgery. A little shaky yet, but good considering her age and everything else. She sure is eating good. I'll say that.
I took some food with me, and bought some nonfat yogurt and such when I was down there, to make sure I had what I needed to stay OP. I did really well and counted my points all weekend long. So today I can tell you all that when I weighed in this morning I LOST ANOTHER 2 LBS!!!! WOO HOO! I am really doing this. I am so tickled. And Lizzie, I can't thank you enough for all of your support and help too.
I now have to make dinner for hubby, and other things to do. I have to do my journal for today and I'm spinning in circles. but I had to let you all know the good news.

shapenup 08-13-02, 09:26 AM Congratulations Sandie and Kfoard! Way to go!:cheer: :cheer: I'll weigh in myself tonight and am keeping my fingers crossed for a loss. Think positive! This week has been a disaster food wise and I have 1/2 day more before I'm back in my own controlled environment. My entire family has weight problems of varying degrees and for the first time in my life, I'm in the best shape. On the positive side, I got a decent amount of exercise in and if anything saves my butt from a gain it will be this.
Goals for today:
1. Lunch is Chinese buffet (I avoid buffets, but mom and dad insist on this) - Do NOT overeat!!!!!
2. Walk (1.5 miles in this morning...I plan to pace up and down in the airports on my way home!)
3. Cheer on Linda at TOPS for hitting her goal weight and maintaining it for the first week! I know she will!
4. Greet personal trainer Charlie dog with Hugs and a walk.

This morning started out well - got to the gym for 30 minutes on the recumbant bike and 2 sets of UBWT. Will take a walk at lunch if the rain does not prohibit.
Having a skinny day today for some reason. My pants feel really lose and my jacket also feels loose :D
Today's goal: keep a positive attitude:)
Lizzie: I know how frustrating it is to lose so slowly. BUT slow and steady will win you the race. You are doing soo great and have a wonderful attitude.
Katie: Did you get your :water: in yesterday? Will you get your :water: in today? Of course you will!

Glad I came by to post. I reread all the posts and now I am more motivated. Nothing gets the motivation and determination going more than reading about success. You guys are awesome!!
I could have a major pity party about now but decided that AIN'T going to happen. So I just tossed off the blues and am getting my sheet together and facing the day. Going to make this a winner day and NO PP!!
I realize exactly what is happening !! Yeaaaaaaaaaa me!! hahaha There is a cool front moving in and the low pressure is intensifying before it gets blown away. I normally have a bad headache before this happens but thankfully with the modern day of drugs I no longer have a migraine when extremes in weather occur. However my restless leg syndrome kicks into high gear and so does depression. Finally have learned that about me and now I am able to deal with it!! Now I am turning this day around.
I had to take a chance and weighed myself this am. Have not gained an ounce from eating my 3 pieces of pizza two days in a row. Happy about that one. I did stay with in my points but just barely!! Now I am staying on the lower end for a few days and make sure I have a loss Friday and report Wednesday!! I need to get my weigh in day changed to Wednesday and I am working on it. Hopefully by next week. Hmmmmm takes time to organize my haphazard lifestyle.

Kate, I assume you are part of the Sheriff's department since you will be doing foot patrol. Wow that sounds so neat!! Did your horse ever get well enough to ride again? Hope so but since you are riding your dad's doesn't sound like yours is well. But I know you will be having a wonderful time. What kind of horses do you have? I think horses are magnificent creatures!! Have a good time!!

Only 1/2 day until you are back in your environment!! Wow that must have been tough to be away for security!! Always is for me too!! Don't worry if you don't lose this week just remind yourself to work harder next. But like you said the exercise may knock off a pound. Even if it doesn't your heart thanks you and so does the rest of your body!! You hang in there!! You are doing great!!

ajmarble 08-13-02, 05:42 PM Hello fellow Snow Angels. Here we go with another day closer to December 31. It is approaching us so fast. Can you believe that August is almost half over already???
I had a great time stamping last night. We learned how to do bleach stamping, masking, and using metal eyelets. Oh, and we also used pastel chalks. Yes Lizzie, I am doing some scrapbooking. That was a big reason why I started this stamping club. I wanted to be able to make a scrapbook for my daughter for her to have some special memories, and pictures of her childhood. Something I don't have much of. I am having a great time doing this. I am going to be making all of my Christmas cards this year. I will probably start after I get daughter's birthday party taken care of.
Hubby had a great time taking our daughter to the circus last night. She came home with filthy dirty hands, and I said what did you let her do dig in the dirt, and he said yeah....It was the only way I could get her hands from being so sticky after we shared some cotton candy with each other. Apparently there wasn't anywhere to wash her hands. LOL Sounds like a typical man huh? I just had to laugh because it was sooo cute. They so adore each other. He truly is her hero. I am so glad they are so close.
Now that I am really boring all of you, I am doing ok today. I woke up kinda late and am getting a late start today. I am feeling a bit sluggish, but I am doing my best to overcome that. I am drinking my water. I have eaten well, and did only a half an hour of exercise this morning. I am going to try and finish later this evening. I need to find some energy from the energy fairy LOL Don't ya wish?? hehe
I am going to the church tonight for a special program we are having. We are having the Dart family coming in and singing for our church. I have heard wonderful things about them and their music. What a blessing to have them with us.
Let's do this Snow Angels.....get up and start moving we have quite the trek ahead of us before December 31!!!! We will do this....Hope all of you are having a wonderful day, take care....bunches of :hug: :hug: for everyone!!!!!!!!!

I had a pretty good day today. Got up early and out the door and off for my walk before it got too hot. I wanted to walk the 1.6 miles I have mapped out, but by the time I got to the 1/2 mile mark, both my knees were already complaining. So I turned around and headed home. At least I got 1 mile walked. Better than nothing, eh? And guess what, my hip isn't killing me yet either. And I hope it stays that way.
Hope everyone else is having a good day, regardless of the heat. I guess we just have to put up with it for now. It won't be too long, and we will be complaining about the cold I guess......lol.

Good Afternoon Everyone,
Well today I'm doing really well. First thing I did this morning was get changed into my workout clothes. I wanted to get start early today because I had to go down to take a couple of tests.. The tests were for the pharmacy clerk program. (((((crossing my
fingers))))) I really hope that I passed, so that I can enter the program. I'll find out in a couple of weeks.
Today for lunch I made myself a bobali pizza. It was a small pizza, but once I added the cheese and sauce the total amount of points was 11. I divided the pizza in half, and gave half of to myself. It was a small pizza, so since I divided in half i also at 1/2 a bananna and that totally filled me up.
HERE ARE MY GOALS FOR TODAY.
1. Walk for 30 minutes tone my back and abs (DONE)
2. take the math and reading test for the pharmacy clerk program (DONE)
3. stay with in my points (I still have to eat my dinner tonight, but after I finish I'm going to eat a total of 31.5 points today)
4. drink 4 liters of water (I'm still working on that one for today)

Sandie why not take shorter walks and not hurt your knees and legs. I know it is so important to walk but darn it shouldn't be so painful!! Just hate to think you are having pain and trying walk!! If you hear me complain once about cold weather just throw a brick at me.!!:tomato:
Aj, You are never boring !!! I always enjoy reading your post and even stop by your journal when I walk that way!! I love to hear about your little girl and her daddy. Never had a little girl so I appreciate all the cute stories. Also think that is neat doing the scrapebooks. When I was a little girl my grandmothr had tons of scrap books. I used to help her put her cards in them and she helped me do a couple of scrapbooks on dogs She use to save every dog picture she could find!! What a sweet memory of my Granddmother.
Definitely going to check out doing scrape books again. Sounds like fun!!

shapenup 08-14-02, 06:48 AM Good morning angels! Boy am I ever motivated to get out and moving! Last night's weigh in was a disaster - up 3 lbs. But, we'll turn this into a kick-butt week. I sat down last night and planned out all meals for the day. Next week at TOPS the scale is going the other way in a BIG way. No question about it. I'd gained a total of one pound since February and just quadrupled my total gain and am not to pleased with it. We'll just turn this dissatisfaction into a huge burst of motivation.
GOALS FOR THE DAY-NO TIME TO WASTE:
1. WALK: This morning I got myself up at 4 am and got a 1.5 mile walk in. Will do another this evening.
2. CALORIES: 1600 calories, no deviation from this is allowed!
3. PREPARE MEALS FOR REST OF WEEK.

It's the middle of August and it was the 1st yesterday wasn't it??
I'm going for my walk later this morning, as I need to stop in at the Library again. They open at 9:00 and the FLC is on the same street.
I don't know what happened to the last three weeks but I owe fines again! Last time it was $5.00. This time $2.50, so gotta go before I break the bank!
The two months my hearing was out, I read 21 books! Now it takes me 3 weeks to finish one! LOL! I love to read, but I seem to not have the time for it always.
We had some wonderful rain and a big storm last night. I was glad to see it. I used to get really melancholy when it rained or when Fall came ( leaves falling, trees naked and not so pretty). I associated it with my husband leaving me and I felt really empty and desolate......like the naked trees.........it was Fall/Winter when he did his doo-dee.
NOW.......I thank God for cooler weather and any excuse to get my *****ets out the door! I love it. Fall and Spring are my favorite seasons.........like I'd stated before and I just wish we had a real Spring around here. Alabama can do Spring!
Gonna run and get my day planned and myself focused. I've sucked (little hard candies) foodwise the past two days and I'm putting a stop to that today. I'm cleaning the frig and cabinets today, getting my goodies lined up and in order for the week ahead. Think I'll do the menu thing too...........put a little more "planning" into my plan!

Doing the happy dance this morning because I successfully removed 2 pounds last week. :ex: It is hard to even put into words how happy it makes me to have that blasted scale moving in the right direction.
However, must not let any success lull me into a false sense of security. Must push on. Didn't get to the gym this morning so I've got to get some activity in later. Maybe a walk at lunch, maybe a step aerobics tape, maybe both :)
Brenda: Way to get back on track. Get organized and get busy girl!
Janet: Your attitude is awesome. You are taking what COULD be perceived as a negative and using it to kickstart you in the right direction. You are a great example for all of us!

ajmarble 08-14-02, 02:56 PM I guess I better step up the workout a bit, I had another maintain this week. I am not dissapointed though. I am happier with a maintain than a gain ANYDAY!!! I will do this. So with weigh-in today, that still leaves me at 184. I will not complain though, this is the lowest I have weighed in about 4 years.:D
Anywhoooooo......:laugh: It is going to be a mellow day around here, we are all tired today. I need to make some cookies and bars....(no not for me LOL) for a youth group that will be staying at our church this weekend. It will be fun and interesting....there will be a teen service on Sunday morning, and there will be a young man preaching. What a blessing to see young people wanting to serve the Lord. It will be very eye opening I think.
I also am going to try a few ideas I came up with for daughter's b-day invitations, and I have to make a card for my best friend. Her b-day is coming up next week. We have been friends since the 1st grade. We still keep in touch, even though I live 1500 miles away. I told her I may be coming to visit in October. That gives me even more motive to get this weight off. I was 207 when I last saw her in March. Maybe that sounds silly....wanting to lose weight before I see old friends?!?!!? Oh well....
I did 1/2 hour of exercise today so far, and have been chugging the water, and eating well according to plan. I am hoping for at least a 1 lb loss by Sunday. I guess we can only wait and see huh?

Well Snow Angels I am off to do my thing. I am concentrating on today but take a second to remind myself of the long term goal but not going to dwell on it! This time last year we we only hoping my DH would live till Christmas. This year we are planning a big party!! We will be celebrating a year of remission!! I don't even care if it is partial remission!! He is doing great!!

5) Go to new super walmart tonight

I had my weigh in yesterday, since Thursday I will be at the fair, and found I have removed 4.2 lbs. I just about croaked when I saw how much I had lost I could not believe it. So as you can imagine I am on cloud 9 right now and don't know when I will come back down. It has been really slow here at work since the fair started on Tuesday so I get to spend a little more time on the internet this week. It has been really warm here so I have just been guzzling the water the past two days, so I think I have made up for what I didn't drink last weekend.
Lizzie, well to answer a few of your questions, my horse is now rideable but I have to take it really easy until her muscles get built back up. It has been really disappointing not being able to ride her. This would have been our third year showing and was hoping to do real well with her but now I will have to wait for next year. Luckily my dad's horse is coming along real well and can take to new things real quickly, so I have a back up horse. All of our horses are Arabians. My mom's horse and mine are bays, they are brown with black mane and tail, and my dad's horse is a really pretty grey. My dad and I belong to the Sheriffs posse which is part of the Sheriffs department, but most of us are not law enforcement officers. The posse does a lot of PR work in our county. This is my first year doing patrol at the fairgrounds so it will be very interesting.
AJ, you sound so creative. I never seem to have time lately to do crafty things. I bought some scrapbooking materials a couple months ago but have not had any time to work on it, hopefully this winter I can do something with it.

shapenup 08-15-02, 07:55 AM Hope you're off to a great start today! I am! I logged a 3 mile walk before 5:30 a.m. and will probably get out to bike 11 miles before work. I've a dr. appt early this a.m. and could have slept in, but got up instead and jump started my day! Yesterday was a picture perfect day and I'm going for an indefinite number of repeats.
Goals for the day:
1. Keep calories between 1500-1600
2. Track fiber, calories, and carbs in food/exercise journal
3. Exercise!:lift: Walk 4.5 miles, bike 11 miles, rollerblade 3 miles, and do even more if I'm feeling up to it!
4. Set target weight goal for Oct. 1 --- 169
5. Burn some more calories while cleaning the house or working outside in the yard.

I was sick last night. Nasty, nasty. I've been doing low fat for awhile and my system can't take the stuff much now. I had Italian sausage for dinner and nightmares/queasy tummy all night. Guess I'm gonna have to learn to leave certain things alone. I was glad I made it thru (it was TOUGH!) without hurlin' as I had enough of that last Saturday at work.
I feel much better this morning, am getting laundry done and my day planned. I really need to wash my curtains. Hmmm, how can I talk myself into that? How could I "reward" me for doing 'em? I'd have to bribe me for that task!
I'm having movie night tonight. I picked up Firefly and Kung Pow. I want everything as I only do this 3 times a year or so. Perhaps I'll do it more often........regular TV pretty much bites. Thye new Fall line-up will be a lot of copy-cat type stuff, but Less than Perfect might be cute! An ordinary girl in the mucky muck office with a 32 oz. slurpee.........and needing the clothes ploice! My kinda gal! LOL!
Gonna run......I AM gonna do my curtains. I can even hang 'em out of the washer, no need to dry. My "reawrad" will be what I spent on me at Goodwill......YESTERDAY! LOL!

Stayed on points yesterday, actually only had 24 (range is 28-33). I think the reason my weight has stayed the same is because I haven't been able to exercise. I'm going to try to ride my bike tonight, if the coughing will let me! Need to get this blubber moving again!!
Goals for Thursday:
1) Drink all water (still not getting enough)
2) Stay on points
3) Try to ride bike
4) Getting hair cut & colored tonight
5) see house tonight!!
That's enough for me. Have to ease back into things.

GOOD MORNING ANGELS!!!! I'm feeling good and so on track, hope you all are too!!
This morning I made it to the gym for 35 minutes on the elliptical machine (465 cals on intervals), 5 minutes on the track, 2 sets of lower body weight training, 120 crunches and some really nice stretching. What a difference from yesterday when I didn't get my workout in in the morning. I was dragging butt all day long! Today I'm pumped.
I realized this morning that I am finally starting to believe. I believe I will make my snow angel goal. I know that sounds dumb. But it has taken a while for me to even start thinking positive. But I'm gonna make it.
Sandy: Hang in there hon. Its gonna get easier again. Just be persistent, just like you have been and you'll get back in the groove. We're all here for you.:rose:
AJ: You can do it. You can do it. You can do it. I bet you feel great being at such a lower weight. I can't wait till I can join you. By then you will have passed me by of course :c(
Lizzie: If that bloody scale doesn't cooperate I say blast it to smithereens!! I know you know this but the scale is not the only measure of success. Are you measuring? Can you feel your endurance growing? I know it is easy to say that cause I know what it feels like too. The stupid thing didn't move for 2 months! But I feel like I know you and you won't give up. You'll be here, being thankful and reminding us to be thankful. Before you know it, the stupid thing will move again, really.
Stacey: Don't sweat it. You have been losing like gangbusters! Your body just might need a small adjustment time to get ready for the next round of removal! Hope you feel better soon.

Since I quit working in April, to be at home with my daughter, I don't go and visit with friends too much anymore. I guess I need to do it more often. We just sat and talked, and looked at stamps, and stuff. I was picking her brain, to see if she had any ideas for B-day invitations. I think I found a great idea. I am going to give it a try tonight. I'll let ya know :laugh: I did really well today. I am optimistic for a loss on Sunday. We'll see. I can't stay, but I hope all is well with all of you. Hang in there, we will do this!!!!!

Woohoo its Friday!!!! Ok ladies. My challenge for myself is to have an on plan weekend. I know I can do it. Am going camping but I'm gonna plan out all my meals and stay on track. I am. I'm not kidding. Really.

Had a rough night last night emotionally. While I was at the grocery store I checked my blood pressure and it was high. What this means is that I'm going to have to put off trying to have a baby until I can get it under control. I'm giving myself to the end of the year to get it under control by losing weight, giving up caffeine, continuing my exercise regime etc.. If not, I'll have to think about meds. :( It is tough for me because I feel so much better but am still suffering the ill effects of carrying my extra weight. Oh well, just more incentive.
Lizzie: am thrilled that you are getting excited. You are always so inspirational and positive. We're gonna get there sister.
Brenda: Here's hoping you become a serious addict, an exercise addict that is. :D

I am doing great this morning. I could use a little more sleep but I'll get caught up on Sunday. I had a lot of fun at the fair and rodeo last night. Did a lot of walking, I think we circled the rodeo grounds about four or five times and never sat down once. I did get to see most of the rodeo and had fun checking out all the cowboys. I get to do the same thing again tonight and then on Saturday morning my dad and I will be showing his horse. After the show we will be going to the rodeo again that evening but at least we will get to sit and watch the whole thing. I have a jam packed weekend ahead of me but it is going to be a lot of fun.
My goals for this weekend are:
1. Drink my water
2. Stay within points (except Saturday I plan on splurging and getting an elephant ear at the fair)
3. Have fun and enjoy my family.
Okay Snow Angels we have 19 weeks to accomplish our goals and I know everybody CAN do it. We will have to have a great big party to celebrate all the removal of those excess pounds and our accomplishments.

"With hope, we can optimistically anticipate our future, rather than merely awaiting it, or allowing it, to occur. Hope brings brightness to each point of view, and a confident desire to be proactive and enthusiastic in meeting challenges and in overcoming obstacles."
This hit the jackpot for me when I read it! I totally agree and believe in being proactive and finding a way to make what I want to happen in life happen. I'd personally substitute the word "hope" in the first sentence with "self confidence and goal setting." I've migrated rather heavily to reading motivational and self-help type books and again and again these emphasize the things Mattie writes about ....follow your heart and believe in yourself.
Well ladies, I have a meal and exercise plan and I'm sticking to it better than super glue could! A nice big loss will happen (Forget hoping for it...make it happen is my motto.) This is why I know I'll be there...
Wed 1245 calories, walked 3 miles
Thu 1595 calories, walked 4.5 miles, rollerbladed 3 miles, and
stretched/hand weights for 15 minutes
Fri 1565 calories, walked 1.5 miles, rollerbladed 3 miles, will
walk 1.5 miles more
I've at least doubled exercise time for the week and am holding calories under 1600. Ideally, between 1500. No excuses and no exceptions for this or exercise. If it rains ...into the mall we'll go. If it nice...out on the bike, rollerblades, and walks! Have a great weekend!

I managed to drag my hiney out to dance last night.
Steve.....the jerky dude tried to make nice and I didn't/couldn't respond. He made a serious mistake with his stupid remarks and inuendos. He tried to hug me several times and I was a brick. I went there to pick some up but I'll do without I think rather than ever hug that man again. I wouldn't make eye contact even. So he's probably telling his friends not only am I HUGE, I'm a "w"itch too. That's ok. I flicked him off the last circle surrounding me and hey......as he was the only one on it, I no longer need circle # 8! LOL! :D
I had a good time......a 5 on a scale of 1-10, so it was worth going out (getting dressed!)
John was there so I got to dance enough and we talked about our love for cats. He has 3. Can't wait to meet 'em! I told him if I could have one, I'd have TWO. He walked me out when we were leaving. That was nice. I'll probably see him tonight as well.
In the meantime, back at the hacienda......I'd best be getting ready for work! Gotta have a tad more coffee before tacklin' that task!

It's Saturday and I'm officially on holidays... It's also time to refocus and get back on track. Luckily I haven't gained any weight but I haven't lost anymore either. I really need to get exercise into my daily plan.
Today I've got a lot of little erands to do but my main goals are solid:
1) eat 3 healthy meals
2) drink 6-8 glasses of water by the end of this posting 2 already in.
3) exercise --- taking hound dog for a walk
4) lunch with a friend (will make sure there's greenery on the plate)
5) groceries after lunch so I don't overbuy
6) work on budget and pay bills
7) wash car
8) dishes/garbage out
9) vacuum
10) go to library-return overdue book then go and rent movie for tonight
11) place Avon order
12) start laundry
It's going to be a great day.... busy and full of action. No time to be a couch potato. Gotta go go go!!!!!!!

Well I really did it this time. Perking right along and doing pretty good. Then my son said he was going to Arby's and did I want anything. Out of my BIG MOUTH came sure a roast beef and fries!! I had no trouble eating them either. Had points for them because that all I ate except 4 cookies but still points were okay!
I knew no matter if I did have points for them I can not eat junk food no matter what!!!!! There is a good reason the fat food places are called 'Slider's" Food slides in and slides right back out!!
Well because of that faulty thinking I was sick at my stomach all night and have exploding diarrhea today!! That was absolutely my last fast food!! My body just can not take it no matter how good I feel it WILL MAKE ME SICK!!
I needed to learn the lesson and I have. Just once in a while I would like a gentle reminder!! That is too funny a gentle reminder has never worked on me!!! Hahahaha
Okay over and done with. I get jello water and rice the rest of the day!!
Well so for the rest of the day I am going to rest because my back is also killing me. I do have an appointment in 9 days to see my orthopedic surgeon. Hopefully new tests will show that I need to contiue with exercise and dieting with no surgery. I have a real sinking feeling that he will want to do surgery again! I think I will be glad to have that done to relieve that awful pain in my back!! Anyway we shall see.
That is enough whining for one day!! I am going to do about 20 or 30 minutes on the bike. Going to do it now before I decide to take a nap instead.
Wow 19 weeks!!! Better make that 40 minutes Lizzie!!!! I absolutely will make my goal no matter what. Yikes I just got a burst of energy. I better get moving because I will not allow time to fly and me stand around kicking the dirt saying " I wish I had tried harder"

I had a great surprise today. I weighed in 1.5 pounds lighter!! And my size 20 "skinny" pants fit!! YIPPEE!! I'm so excited.
Lizzie, sorry to hear about your tummy troubles, but I had the same experience today! We went to Ponderosa for the breakfast buffy, and I had a couple of pieces of bacon with my eggs. Got home and had the dredded disease!! No more fried foods for me. Too much grease. But we had a great breakfast.
I am packing and doing laundry today, so don't know about goals, except trying to get all of my water in.

shapenup 08-17-02, 09:38 PM Thanks for motivating me to stay away from the fast food Stacey and Lizzie! For the most part they don't draw me in very often, but I do have a weakness for dq blizzards and taco bell. So every few months I'll pay a visit to one or the other.
Well, it looks like today will be a 4.5 mile walk day with an 18 mile bike ride. Tomorrow we're off to visit an old college roommate and her family and get to drive 2.5 hrs. I'm looking forward to seeing them. I'm also meeting up with another former college roommate at our old college sub shop hangout (this will be my weak point of the day- 1/2 turkey sub, ez on the mayo and one or 2 soft pretzels to go! ). This roomie is getting my 1987 touring bike that I pedaled x-country! It needs some $ sunk into it to bring it up to speed, but its a great bike. Jul wants to do the 1 week long bike ride with me in Ohio next year and will use this bike to figure out if she's up to it.
Goals for Sunday:
1) 3 miles of walking
2) 3 miles of roller blading or 11 mile bike ride
3) Enjoy our friends and their families
4) Repeat the last 4 days and stay right on target with calories
5) Plan out Monday

Well I got myself moving and did 33 minutes of bike for 5.8 miles!!
I decided I can drink a lot of water tonight!! In fact I need a lot of water. I know that I will not be eating any more fast food. EVER!!
Yes Lizzie did learn a lesson. Yipeeeeeeeeeeeee!! Have to laugh at myself!!
Shapenup makes me wish I was meeting some of my old college friends. Those were some fun times!! The Oaken Bucket was our hangout!! I haven't driven past the old place in years! Wow I wonder if it is still there. Oh sure it is the college students kept the business booming!! Especially during midterms and finals!! Have a good time seeing your old friends!! Be safe!!
Stacey?? I thought I saw her fly through!! She is getting so thin I can hardly see her! Fitting in size 20!! Wow!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Yes you may reach your goal long before Dec!!!!
I hope by my weigh in day Wednesday the 21st I have some good news!!!!! I just know I will have lost a few pounds by then!!
Well I am back to being myself again..... No stupid tricks like eating stuff I know I can't. Back on with the exercises. Yes I guess I needed the 23 hours to remind where I need to go. Plus where I want to go and will. So for dinner tonight I am going to have a salad for dinner well at least try if not have a bowl of jello.

Well Snow Angels my DH has to work tonight and tomorrow night!! So I am in my office/place of peace/music room/and all the other things I can't think of right now, all alone. Hmmmmm seems like I spend a lot of time doing this very thing!! Well I can change that I can get some work done around the house.

I know what you mean about the fast food frenzy. The first thing I wanna do when I'm feeling good is indulge in crap.....what is it about the stuff? Yep it's good going down but not worth the agony!! My downfall used............ USED I say......to be Church's chicken. I couldn't (wouldn't) get a 2 pc. meal......NO, if the 8 pc. was on sale, I had to have it, 12 pc. no problem, I'd eat it for 3 days! I am SO thankful that I have not had a serious craving for that stuff in almost 3 months. Yippee yahooty!
HEY! Brenda had a DATE last night! It was so much fun, tho I was so nervous I had hot flashes and my hair wouldn't dry......well it was hot too.....I couldn't get cooled down! I had NOTHING to wear of course!
We went to dinner where I managed without a bib, thank you, and I normally don't eat dinner on my dancing nights......food equals nap most times! (if not crampy, bloated) I told him I really like grilled fish (plan ya know) well we tried to go to Texas Roadhouse and the line was into the parking lot.....so we went for mexican.....yummers and I had a couple of margarita's..........used up all banked points and then a few, but it was ok. Then as we were leaving he asked if I'd like to meet his cats! A man after my own heart! I got to meet the loverly ladies and see his loverly home as well..........I want his yards and cats!! Then we went dancing for a couple of hours. I had a great time and he's easy to talk to. It was fun and he doesn't "scare" me.
That is key to me...........they push and I run like a big dog. Well.....I walk away quickly, how's that?
Steve was playing nice, trying to make up so I behaved better last night. Thanks for the applause I hear!
He was saying something to John about me, all I caught was that I was a sweetheart and john said he knew I was. Ain't that just real special!:D
So.............I am ready for today, a new week ahead and Lizzie, as you said with the way time flies the end of this ride will be coming up shortly and I don't wanna be kicking the dirt neither! So I'm gonna kick butt instead! I have my goals and charts and daily plan. I will use what I have and be glad I've got it. I will give my body what it needs to function well and move it, move it, move it!
I will plan..... not IF I will exercise but WHEN on each day.
I will be thankful for good water and DRINK lots of it.....boss buys!
I will plan my meals and make sure I have what I need on hand
I will enjoy each day, make time for fun and PLAY!
Set limits........NO myself when neccesary
That's enough for now! The shaving legs, ironing, clean bathroom as if company were coming......should've seen me flying around last night........THAT'S why I was overheated! LOL!! Those things are on my to-do list for this coming week..........

Hi all it sounds like everyone is doing so good. I didn't get everything done that I wanted and went a little overboard yesterday on the food.
Today it's kind of miserable and I don't feel so well....
so laundry will be put off

Well, doing lots of laundry still. We went to the new Super Walmart again this morning .. love that place! Found that if we go at 7:30 in the morning, there's no crowd! We bought new ceiling fans for the new house. With any luck, everything should be done this week. Keeping my fingers crossed!
I'm going to ride my bike later today, first time in 10 days! Need to burn off some calories. Still eating in points, but feel the Need for Speed!!
