Hi Kil

So you are skiing today, yes? I hope you enjoy it. I've never been on a Nordic Track thing, they don't have one at our local gym (not that I've been for about a year!). My ex boss used to love skiing though and she always wanted one of those for exercise. She could afford one though, she had an indoor swimming pool, which is quite rate in the UK.

I think our healthcare system is almost identical to the Canadian one. We pay national insurance which goes towards the health service (I think), although we can have private health insurance. Our waiting lists are pretty long when it comes down to receiving treatment, but you can get a doctor's appointment the same day and it's free. If you don't have an income or have a low income you get free subscription drugs too. I think it's basically a good system, but like Canada, we have a shortage of doctors.

I hope all is well and that you are enjoying your work(!)

Hi guys,

The Nordic Track is awesome. One serious workout. My Nordic Butt shrank a little bit, I'm sure! It felt good this morning. The ol' heart was seriously pumping.

The bf hadn't used one before. He was struggling and fighting with it last night. Too funny. I kept telling him to relax, get a natural stride going, just do the legs first and work in the arms once you get the hang of it.

But he didn't want to try to get the hang of it. He was expecting something that you press a button and it starts doing its thing and you just follow along, like a treadmill. This may be my exclusive Nordic Track.

Although he said he'll read the instructions on how to use it and try it again. I was amused, at any rate. But not so that he would know it, of course.

You poor shivering things. You'd think that would burn a few calories. Brrr.

Work sucks. But that's not news. I should go accomplish something here, I guess.

Speaking of nordic butt, I basically froze mine off today. This winter seems longer than most. I walked to the post office to fax a reference and stopped at Starbuck's, a few drops of coffee spilled on the way back but they froze before they got to the bottom of the cup. And it was just a tall coffee. I still have that brain freeze feeling. Very refreshing!!!!! (not really). It has inspired me to have a bowl of soup for dinner.

Bye!!!! Have a great Thursday.

So, what should I do? I would like to be funny and write something profound, yet amusing. I would like to write that something HERE.

Yet.

It seems to be quite impossible.

The image of your "vast nordic ass" is just too vivid. It has discombobulated my senses and completely left me at wit's end.

Speechless.

Sorry.

Of course I was just kidding about your journal being exhausting. I just wilt once I sit down at night. And it wouldn't have been you exhausting me, but your visitors of course! I've tried skipping other visitors' entries and just reading the originator's entries, but it usually leaves me too confused.

I signed up for COBRA since my health insurance didn't start for a month on the new job. (I felt like I had to have coverage just in case, especially for Ethan). I haven't received a bill yet, but I think it will be something outrageous like $470 per month. Then my former employer messed up the paperwork and didn't get the COBRA started until December (when my new insurance kicked in!).

Good for you on the Nordic Trak! I had one on loan several years back, but I wasn't coordinated/didn't try hard enough. The "skis" kept slipping off the back and I would try to keep from falling on my face. I'm sure your BF will get it if he is persistent, though.

I have no doubt that every internet site I visit at work is logged, as well as how long I am logged in there. I'm pretty sure that they only make an issue of it if they are otherwise unhappy with your work. I guess I'm staking my career on that! I'm not willing to give up DT though, and I know I would hardly ever visit from home. Rationalization, anyone?

Vast? Did I say VAST?

Do you have a camera in my office? How did VAST come to mind, Chum?

I would describe my butt as jigglesome, perhaps. Cottage cheese-esque. Squishy. Plump. Maybe even a tad fuzzy. But not VAST. Good lord.

Maybe I should take a better look at my Nordic ass. Nah, I think I'll wait a few months. Then have a good look.

Poor Canucks, all of you freezing up there. Frozen Starbuck's even. You're putting me off of my intended skiing trip just a bit.

Good rationalization, Lutha. I do agree, though, that workplace internet usage is only used as fuel in a termination situation. Unless you have a boss that has a hard-nosed "No Internet Ever" philosophy, of course.

Nordic Track does takes some determination to get the hang of (of which to get the hang?). More than the Elliptical even. I'm pretty sure that's why they are rather unpopular at the gym. No one wants to flail about looking stupid in front of everyone else as they try to figure it out.

The health insurance saga: Yes, I can sign up for the gay lover insurance and yes they will make it retroactive to Jan. 1. But it costs about $5 more than COBRA. No deal there, either. So basically I'm screwed.

My visitors are not exhausting! I think maybe it's just poor you that is exhausted when you get home and have to wade through the volumes of posts on all of our journals.

Hey girlfriend. Where's the new journal? This one is taking a long time to load. Must be b/c you have so many visitors! Pffft. How is your nordic ass today? OK, so maybe "vast" wasn't such a great word. But if you recall, I wasn't the first to use it! Grrrr.

Oh. And I'm not sure the WHOLE WORLD needed to know your butt is fuzzy.

I'm just seeing if you all are reading the details. It's no fuzzier than anyone else's, don't worry.

Yes, the new journal. It's time to start one. Just haven't though of a great opening entry yet. Probably never will. So I might as well just start it with a lame entry, as usual.

I do believe that you used the word VAST first. Not I.

It will soon by teeny tiny, anyway. So it'll be a non-issue. pfft.

Sigh. Soon. Soon. At this rate, a mere 24 weeks. Say half a year.
