Why do you want to lose weight? Simply to have less inches around your midsection? To simply weigh less? Or to be healthy? Should one be concerned about that last bit of flab? Should they keep going until there is hardly any noticble fat? Then what? Do they replace it with muscle?
I'm going to be facing these questions soon.
I loose weight so that I do have a smaller midsection and to be healthy.
Unfortunately, I still have a big belly that I really want to get rid of, it just doesn't want to go away, it just gets smaller, but is still there!
My goal of 178lbs may not be reached if the belly goes before I get to that weight and I am happy with myself....I have both a weight and an chest-inches goal, whichever comes first I'll take.

Hi luke,
With me it's primarily health. I am tired of being tired and I wan't to keep up with my son without killing myself. Personally I could really care less about what my weight is. I pay attention to it because it is one indicator of my progress toward my goal of healthiness.
I also look forward to looking trim, but it's a secondary thing with me. I figure I will work on that last bit of flab, as you put it, just as a tool to maintain my fitness when I get there, then when that's gone I will figure some other tool to use. Probably just feeling good will be my tool after that. :)

Hard to answer this one Luke regarding yourself, but where do you see yourself in ten years time and what image of yourself do you visualize and in what order do you place, Fitness, inches or pounds, we are all different take my own self as an example, early this year i topped 419 lbs many people on these stats would assume a mental picture of big fat lazy slob who probably does not work or cant, high blood pressure etc, in some men they would be right in all counts, but i do work and its heavy graft and needs strength but rarely does it raise the heartbeat, I have great blood results all round indeed my GP tells me at my weight they should not belong to me. I have had young men work for me who did not look overweight but who knackered easily so much for appearence, but inches and pounds are now a problem with myself and i am hindered by the combination of both and if i dont do something positive about it the health will become a problem,
If i could turn back the clock and choose between strong and powerful even if carrying a little weight or moderate build but more athletic I would choose the first but recognise that it would be easy to pile on the weight if not controled, what do you desire ,for you have done great, Surely priority must be maintaining your target and from what i have seen you write i beleive you WILL, so if you care to shape yourself up great , trim those inches great , but always pay attention to what you did to shed those pounds, thats of prime importance, dont do as i done once and stupidly put it back on and some, you have some choices of directions to make ( but they are all good ) best of luck, incedently I posted a photo of my wife and 2 sons in the pictures forum,( titled not just for myself ) the one on the left is 29 and he takes after my wife in build the other is more of my side of the family. good topic lets us guys air our feelings.
