I do here at the house but I've been thinking of joining a gym... just to get a better workout.

I have a bench and some free weights. I work on my legs, arms, chest mostly but I've been concentrating on my waist lately as that needs the most work.

HI Marty,
Long time since i done the weight 34 years approx, but In my next stage of my journey i will work out at home, John mentions going to the gym and that i don't have any experience of of, I done my time at a specialist club and in those days fancy equipment was not available, only exception was a pull down apparatus for Lats and triceps, but what was essential was the company of others, we commonly worked in groups of 3 or 5 and the difference was incredible in the motivation, I competed in power lifting and the Lifts were Bench press, squat and dead lift, but we done a full workout, USING squats as an example we repped in sets of 3x 20 full squats and also half squats to get used to the excessive weight when you first lifted off the supports, if 5 were in the group, in between we would work on on calves and front squats to build the front of the thigh between our sets, obviously you also took your turn each side of the lifter not only for safety but to spurn him on, I like John would consider the gym when i am more comfortable with my image but i would still imagine at least one training partner would be a great motivator,
but at the same time my aim would be for general toning definition and hopefully raise the metabolism, I do believe that a proper routine brings great benefit but bulk would not be my priority if i had the chance again, good luck with your training GO for it and pound and sweat yourself into shape LOL.
