Hi all. I sure hope someone out there can help me. I am 5'1" and weigh almost 200#. I have tried diets and exercise, pills, you name it, I can't seem to stick to it. How do you stay with the routine? I do it for about 3 weeks and then I stop. I will say for that time I feel great. I have exercise equipment but just can't seem to get the motivation to use it after a while. Any suggestions out there?

A good measure of willpower, exercise and eating right, smaller portions, motivation and common sense is what I do.

cravings come from 2 areas:

1) emotional eating.
2) our bodies need something if the food that we are not getting in what we are eating.

If we can stop the "binging" or "craving" for foods (other than normal eating) we can solve some of our problem.

Dear Needhelp, a couple weeks ago I started writing everything down in a journal - the foods I'm eating, everything that I drink, any exercise that I do, and my feelings about my life during the day. I don't just write down "diet" things, I write about the weather, what I'm doing, etc. It seems to be helping me stay focused. I don't know if I will lost any weight when I get weighed on Thurs. morning, but I am learning some things about myself!
