Hi-

I am a night worker and work 7pm-7am and in need of some advice from some of you experts or how others are managing night life with dieting. I am a nurse and work 3 days a week and find it hard to eat healthy on the days I'm sleeping to go to work as I don't eat breakfast or lunch and grab something quick before work. Just wondering how others are dealing with this lifestyle. I've worked nights for 9 years and its hard adjusting back to day life on your days off and I have 2 small children.

Would love to hear from some of you with that lifestyle or anyone with similar situations as myself!

I worked the 11pm - 7am shift at the casinos in Atlantic City for many years. I wish I had some advice for you. Working that shift was part of my problem. I could never seem to get a handle on the whole sleeping during the day thing. I did it for 8 years and I have finally gotten back to normal hours.

I'm sure with kids it would make this more difficult but I just kept the same schedule when I was off.

Thanks Dee for the input. I know that day life is so much healthier for a person. I was off 3 months on maternity leave and loved it. Had more energy then ever and lived a normal life but its my life at the moment.

CONGRATS on your weight loss that is great!!! How long did it take you to get there???

Since I've gone back to days I've never felt better. I don't think the human body is meant for night work. But, you gotta make a buck and sometimes a person doesn't have a choice. I know I didn't.

I started this latest attempt to lose weight in June. I've been stuck here for three weeks though. I'm not on a plateau I just can't seem to get back in my routine that worked so well this summer.

Welcome to DT!

Dee-

Thanks for the welcome and I bet you do feel more human. I'm tired all the time but I have been for 8 years now! :D

You will get motivated again. Your doing so good just look at those stats! I seem to be at a stand still and just started this week have lost 8# but have stayed the same last 2 days. I've been walking 2 miles and exercising at home and eating low fat food which I haven't done for a long time.

Good luck on your mission to goal!!
