But starting out I am. I've been looking for some other type of habit to get into. I started the Slim Fast plan and it worked for a while but it didnt fix my bad eating habits. So come the 1st of October, MissRena is jumping into the challenge. I should be starting right now, but I have to get groceries and this weekend is busy enough, so Monday is grocery day and I'll be in the supermarket loading up my cart with veggies and fruit to start the challenge at month one! I'm actually quite excited about this. I've slowly been changing things around. But I still have the sugar cravings because I'm getting them from the Slim Fast. I've found that I've cut out chocolate bars completely. So I have a month to get my fruits and veggies up to the right level. So excited!

Cool... excited to see you here.. you are not late.. you are just getting started. I'm proud of you breaking the chocolate bar habit. You will be amazed how great you feel when you start getting all those fruits and veggies into your plan. I look forward to seeing your progress. :x

Thats the one thing this pregnancy has cured. My craving for chocolate bars. I still drink chocolate milk and I do use slimfast. But its more for the calcium from one, cause I cant stand milk. And the slimfast is a quick meal when my life gets crazy. But I usually only do that 1 to 2 times a week. Good luck on starting. Know you will be able to jump in and do well.

I hope you stick with eating real food such as lean chicken, turkey, egg whites, brown rice, yams, veggies and fruit. Those Slim Fast shakes have more sugar than some candy bars. Of course you know, sugar is stored as fat.

Drink lots of water.......;)

Welcome... Your not late at all... and you have all the time you need to get each step properly. There are no time limits.

Congrats on the fruits and veggies. You will notice a change in your body and you probably will get a decrease in cravings... if you have a wide variety of fruits and veggies in.

So far so good. I've managed to completely get into the food guide thing. It hasnt been as hard as it would have been if I hadnt started developing better eating habits before. So I've been unintentionally in the challenge for the last little while. It officially started today and I feel like I'm going to explode. So much food. I dont think I was getting enough calories before and I know all the sugar was just getting stored, so maybe this will work. I'm one of those people that jumps in all at once or not at all. That's why its been so hard for me to follow my exercise program because I feel like I'm not doing enough. I feel like I'm not working enough. But I guess I need to build up to the longer times. In about eight or nine weeks my time should be up. But the challenge is on. I'm doing well this morning. :rose:

Im glad you are doing well. :x About the exercise..building it gradually is better. You won't burn out and you are more likely to stick with it. Keep up the good work. :)

Patience is not one of my virtues, but I found something that seems to be working for me, so I'll stick with it for now. As far as the food, well, I do like chocolate. And I've managed to get it cut down to just hot chocolate once or twice a week. I just cant stay away from Tim Horton's hot chocolate. Yummy!!!

Well I think I'm doing ok with the food area of my life. And it is my life, this isnt a diet. I refuse to diet. It has never worked. So now I'm changing my thinking. The food guide (I'm in Canada, so its a little different than the US's food pyramid.) Anyway, I started with the food. I think I have that pretty much under control. Now I have turned my attention back onto my exercise. I didnt have a problem with the cardio part, it was the strength training and flexibility. So I bought a Pilates exercise video and I tried that out. I think it will work well. Its not too hard. Doesnt require too much equipment and I can do it in the privacy of my home. That should help. Now I'm excited about working out. It took six months. But I am really excited about this. I have something to work towards. Something to motivate me. So now its off to the gym for a run. YAY!
