Hi, my name is Teri and l just recently started, yet again, to lose weight. l have about 75 pounds to lose and have tried almost every diet imaginable. This time l am just going to get off my lazy butt and exercise and try and make better food choices. Carbs do tend to be a problem for me so l am going to try and limit them but not give them up. l really like the idea of support from people who know how you feel so l am glad l found DT. l am not sure how this works but l would love to become a regular :). Anyway, l just wanted to introduce myself and try and get started.
Thanks,

Welcome Teri :D

I'm new here myself, but I wanted to welcome you. So, what kind of exercise are you planning? I'm hooked on videos myself! :D

Hi Donna,*

Right now l am doing 2 videos, Kathy Smith March to Fitness and Richard Simmons Sweatin to the Oldies. l think l will be adding Tae Bo next week. l also do a light weight training program l found online from M&F Hers.com. l just started this week so l hope l can stick with it this time.

Congrats on your decision!

My first suggestion is to READ! How can this help you to lose weight? Finding out how much fat/calories/carbs/protien (or whatever you are counting) will help you to make those better food decisions. And the more articles you read about a certain plan or about losing weight in general, the more you figure out what you want to count and how you want to do this.

Good luck with everything! You will have the strength to do it!

Hi Terri,
Welcome to Diettalk!!
It is good to research weight loss programs and find the one that best fits your needs.(You can read about most of them online.) I follow a plan that suggests the following: Eat only when you are physically hungry, eat slowly taking one bite at a time putting your fork down between bites and taking a sip of water or other non-caloric beverage. Eat slow enough for your body to tell you it is full. When you reach that point stop eating. I think following that guideline will help you with whatever weight loss plan you choose. Make sure it is a plan that will allows you to make healthy choices for yourself and improve your lifestyle.Good luck! CJL

 Hello Teri. Welcome to DT. You have come to the right place for support. We are all in the same boat here so we understand it all. It sure helps me alot by browsing and getting other peoples opinions on stuff. Weather it be diet pills, exercise, or diet plans there is people out here to help with your decisions. And that my friend is what makes DT so great to come to. :D

I am low carb dieting at the moment and I feel it is the way for me at this time. I may change diet plans later on but for now it seems to agree with me.
I hope you find comfort with your diet and exercise plan as it is a lifestyle change, not just a diet.

My advise to you is to start a journal if you haven't already.

Best of luck to you on your journey to "The new and improved Teri"

Thanks Mini,

l have done the low carb too, and it has worked for me but right now l am trying more of moderatly low carb plus low fat. My main concern is making exercise a definite part of my life. l think in the long run exercising will help me most :)

:rose: Thanks again:rose:
And Best of Luck to you too :)

I'm sort of new myself. I plan to try not to eat so many desserts and to follow the follow the five minute exercise plan in my newest Ladie's Home Journal. Ten toe touches and ten waist twists!

Hi Teri,

Welcome to DT! You've found a wonderful support system here, be sure to take advantage of it. I'd be lost without some of the people here, I think of them throughout the day and they help me to be 'good'. Start a journal as soon as you can, it makes a huge difference on a day to day basis.

Thanks Clubhard,

lt's funny you should mention not sticking with a program. This of course is not the first time l have attempted to lose weight. l know it took awhile to put on and it will take even longer to take off and with the help of this forum l hope this time it will be for good!
