Hi! Does anyone know where I can find info on blood type dieting? I just found out my blood type and am interested in reading about it. Thanks!

I heard of this and it seems to make sense, doesn't it?? I know there is a book out that deals with this. Try your local bookstore, a big one like Barnes & Noble will have people who can help you. I once saw it in our local natural foods grocery store, too. let us know if you start that, I would be interested in your progress!

I've heard of the book. It is called "Eat right for your type" or something like that.

Look for a book called something like " eat right for your type. I know you can get at your local library or I have seen it at Chapters Book store here in Canada. I do not know who wrote it. My dad even picked it up at the library once. I did not see it myself but he said he saw it in both places. GOOD LUCK. I flipped though it at Chapters and acording to the book I don't eat what I should. I don't like half the stuff that they say you should eat. :)

The theory of eating according to your blood type is total bull****. If you want to eat properly, then you eat what you are able to tolerate, but at the same time you have to exercise some discipline in your diet. Sure some people do have allergies to certain foods, and some foods may not agree with various people, but this has very little to do with blood type. It is yet another fad diet theory, where people are just trying to make a quick buck off of the people who do not posses the knowledge of how the body works and how different diets effect you.
If you are trying to lose weight, in theory it is quite simple. You must simply expend more calories throughout the day than what you consume. Even if it is BigMacs and Pizza, if you are burning more calories than what you have taken in during the day, then you will lose fat. On the other hand, it has been proven that dietary fat is more readily converted to adipose tissue on the body.

Hey star, I got your email, and I apologize if it seemed that I was too harsh. I didn't mean to offend you. My goal was simply to tell the truth. As a matter of fact, I have tried eating according to my blood type, and it just doesn't work for me, or some of the clients I've had that have gone out on their own to try it. The truth is, any diet will work, because all diets call for a calorie restriction. Any diet that eliminates a certain food group(blood type dieting), or serverely restricts a certain macronutrient(low carb dieting/low fat dieting) is going to make you lose weight because your choices are limited, and that means there are less foods that you can eat. Typically though, what works for one person, will usually work for most as far as types of food eaten. There are foods that don't agree with some, but for the most part, all humans function similarly on a metabolic level, with only variations in metabolic rate and existing medical problems like allergies etc. The ideal diet should be one that is high in protein(about 1gram/pound of bodyweight, or in the case of losing weight, about a gram/pound of desired bodyweight), moderate in carbohydrates, and low in fats. No macronutrient should be severly restricted, and the should always contain variety to avoid developing allergies to foods. The blood type dieting "sounds" logical, as do a lot of different types of diets. But that is what sells books.
