I've been coming to diettalk for almost 2 months & didn't know of these challenges until I read it in the newsletter. This is great! I've been looking for a group/challenge I can join to stay motivated but, because I only want to lose 15 lbs, I didn't know where I fit in. I'm looking for more of a livestyle change really - trying to take the pro-active approach and change my eating habits NOW because I've noticed I'm putting on weight much easier this year (probably just because I'm getting older and metabolism is slowing down). So the BTTB challenges seem perfect for me! These are challenges anyone can participate in and (hopefully) they are life-long changes.
I haven't been very succesful with my diet so far. I've been doing great with exercise, though, which I know is a HUGE step in the right direction. But sometimes I get down on myself because when I exercise and burn 300 calories, I know I didn't counteract the effects of those chicken wings I shouldn't have had for lunch that day. I really to get some help on the diet side of things. I think I'm trying to do too much at once. Getting back to the basics and focusing on one change at a time may be just what I need.
I printed off the first challenge (just in time for my regular Friday grocery shopping too). I'm excited about getting started and working at it together with all of you!
