Hello-

I have a question as I want to start trying the Subway diet but I live in the country with 2 small kids and can't always get to the nearest Subway but for now I will get some extra's to place in refrigerator.

My question is for those that make theirs at home. What kind of sub bread do you get and where??? Is there low calorie submarine sandwich bread somewhere or do you just get the regular?? I think our Super Wal-mart has the bread but have never checked to see if they make low calorie/low fat kind.

Hope this isn't a stupid question. Just curious and ready to start this new diet. Sounds yummy! I love Subway!

Thanks in advance!!

:D

Hi Mad,

I make my own Subway. I get a six inch sub bread. On it I put mustard rather than mayo or oil. I put a low fat cheese on it. I think Alpine Lace cheese might be an available brand for you. Then I put the veggies on. (I like cucumbers, tomatoes, lettuce, green peppers, etc.) I'll look and see what brand of bread it is and the calorie/fat content. I use to go to Subway once or twice a week for my lunch and get the Veggie Delight. It helped me lose weight. By the way I was born in Sikeston, Mo. I still have family there. I'm in Illinois now. Good luck!:chef: CJL

Hi CJL-

Thanks for the info. I went to subway tonight and stocked up on some and had a footlong veggie delight. It was GOOD!! :D I'll be on the lookout for some subs. Thanks again you fellow Missourian and congrats on your weight loss. WOW, thats great!

I don't know if its available all over the place, but here we have a veggie burger sub thats very good. Not quite as good as the burger king one and you can't get a potato which I like as a side, but its definitely worth trying. If I don't get that I get the straight veggie sub. Like was suggeested--definitely mustard as the condiment and all the veggies you can handle. Oil and vinegar is another good way to moisten the sandwich up.
