Hey guys... sorry I haven't been around in a while, but here's my question.
If I have Slim-Fast in the morning, Slim-Fast for lunch, and a Subway foot long from the under 6 menu would I possibly lose any weight?

Hi Hunter,
Sounds like you would be having 2 shakes and one meal. No snacks? Bound to drop some weight. Are you looking for quick results? My question though to you is how long were you planning to stick to that program? For a jump start? Ect...

Good Luck :o

Hunter, I'd have to say that isn't the healthiest plan. You're bound to cheat with only eating one meal a day and no snacks. That isn't enough calories either. I wouldn't replace more than one meal with the slim-fast shake. 3 small meals and 2 snacks is the best way to go. You have to eat healthy with a variety of foods. There are no quick fixes. Eat right, exercise, and drink water. Everyone always wants to know the trick to losing weight, and most people after they've lost weight never give that answer to you. There is no fast cure to weight loss. Your body can't lose more than 1-2 lbs. a week, anything more than that is water loss. It isn't losing fat and it will quickly come back. You didn't gain it in a day and you can't lose it in a day. You were doing pretty good before and you were exercising. I remember the candy, allow yourself a few treats so you don't feel deprived. Hugs to you. -Jennalynn

Hey. I think it sounds like a good plan (one I may try myself). Those shakes are supposed to have all the nutrients that you need. As for getting enough cals that way, I think you would. About 300 per shake and 600 per foot long sub, that's 1,200. A tad low, usually 1,500, but not far from the mark. You could add some cheese to the sub too to up it a bit. I think the slim-fast plan gets a bad rap. The only thing about it is that I got REALLY burnt out on it. I'm not crazy bout the shakes in a can, but I love the one's from the blender with ice. That's where my trouble was, I wasn't always home to make the shakes. Any way, which ones are you drinking? I haven't tried them all. They also have those meal on the go bars if you get sick of shakes. Well, good luck, and oh, ya, you will lose on that diet. Be sure to get 8 glasses of water too. Bye

Butterfly, I don't know if you realize it or not, but Hunter is a teenage boy. He is still in his developing years. I don't think he would want to stop growing.

Slim fast is great for a jump start, but you can not live off 2 shakes and one grinder forever. I, on occasion, will replace a meal with a bar or a shake myself.

Watch your fat and calories Hunter, but you have to eat food. That is a plan you can live with for life. If you learn proper nutrition now, it will carry with you threw life.

Hi. I am a newbie to the board but not to weight loss. About Slim Fast, it is loaded with vitamins and stuff, but also sugar. Not the best thing. ANd in reading other posts here I see that you are still in your growing years. You need to eat food. I see nothing wrong with including the subway in your diet, because it is low calorie, lean meat, good veggies,etc....but please...for your body, include some additional healthy choices, like fruit, cereal for breakfast, skim milk,etc..don't forget the vegetables too. You have to have enough calories. And the water. There is no quick cure out there. Remember too that anyone can lose weight on any plan, but it comes from within yourself. Sure you could lose weight on a pill or slim fast, but usually the loss comes from the discipline of eating the healthy foods, not the pill or drink. I was working with a girl in the neighborhood where I live who wanted to lose 20 lbs. SHe is 18 now. She went over the counter diet pills and almost ended up in the hospital. SHe also tried the Slim Fast and didn't include enough calories in her diet and she couldn't lose weight and became anemic. It wasn't until we sat down and kept a food journal for a couple weeks and looked at what could be improved and then added the healthier choices, that she started to remove the weight. gradually. It took over a year for her, but she is fit and healthy.
Good luck with your quest for health.
Linda

Sorry I didn't make myself clear- I'm going to have snacks (cucumber, water of course, other fruits). I'm probably just going to have that for breakfast, a 6 inch sub for lunch, and a 6 inch for dinner. Combined with weights, and treadmill. Better?

Sounds much better Hunter. Adding water based soups, and salads is also a good idea. It will help fill you up, and you will get the nutrition that you need. Try to get in a variety from all the food groups. I started a food journal on the journal board today, if you'd like to check it out.

Hunter, You know what I'd do??? I'd go to Kim's website...she has her meal plan up. Eat what she eats and you'll do great. * * * * *
