Hi there! I was wondering if there is anyone out ther who's tried the CAD diet and with what results. I'm just trying to put a survey together and will appreciate your help in this.
Hope you're all having a great weekend! :)

Since you asked - I tried it back in the 70's and lost weight just fine, but found that I need more carbs. Then the weight came right back.... now I just balance it all out by counting calories. Good luck to you in whichever plan you try! :rose:

PS - I just noticed your progress so far! You're doing great - why change a thing??

Thank you Jana for taking a few minutes to reply to my post. After trying for many years this time around I've been able to get it together and stick to it. So far I've lost 39 pounds (I can't believe it myself!) I switched to counting carbs now because the cravings were haunting me like there was no tomorrow! I was really having a hard time here. I noticed that when I reduce carbs the cravings are also reduced...So, I've decided to give it a try. If this doesn't work, I can always go back to counting calories...I've been counting carbs for three days now and I've been having very serene and peaceful days (what a concept!LOL! 8-} )Now I'm waiting to the end of the week to see if I'll lose also this way! Thank you for wishing me luck! :rose: Whatever I'll do, I'll need it! Good luck to you too! ;)

Hi Xena,
I didn't actually follow CAD, but I did do a low carb diet when I started this journey. I read CAD, The Zone and Atkins, then divised my own version that didn't eliminate anything but greatly lowered my carbs. It help me get off insulin and lose about 50 pounds. However, after that, it seemed to not work as well for me and I switched to following Weight Watchers.
Good luck to you in whatever you do and congrats on your success so far.

Hi Xena :)

first of all, cute name :)

I would guess low carbing is an excellent way to lose weight... I have also seen an interesting article somewhere about high-protein low-carb diets and I'll see if I can find it.

Here it is:

Well, personally, I don't think I can survive without complex carbohydrates (the bread group). But that's just me, I eat lots of complex carbos and try to stay away from stuff with lots of sat. fat and especially red meat.
