View Full Version : Olives Sarahlp105 06-29-01, 01:44 PM Is an olive considered a vegetable??? sooz 06-29-01, 01:56 PM I believe an olive would actually be considered a fruit from a botanical point of view lol..they grow on trees like apples...I just looked in my little calorie/fat book and they are listed with the fruits..3 small or 2 large black olives have 15 calories and TWO grams of fat!! Olive oil comes from olives so they are fat little devils lol... :peace: Dj 06-29-01, 02:44 PM But such GOOD fat little devils! I love them and still eat them in pasta salads and sliced olives on tacos.... I consider them a treat and savor them. Have them once and awhile if you like them.... Sarahlp105 06-29-01, 03:36 PM I brought some for lunch today, that's why I brought this topic up. I have a jar that has 7 small ones for 25 cal. and 2.5 fat. But, I can only assume that this is "good fat" since olive oil is. I really love olives, so I am not going to sweat the fat!! Thanks for the info, a fruit huh? Tastes more like a veggie to me, but then again, so does a tomatoe!! |
