Just a quick question...and I'm hoping someone knows the answer. On weekends the hubby and I like to have a few beers with friends. Occasionally I like to have a mudslide or something sweet, but mostly beer. Well, yesterday I ate like I have been for the past few weeks. I lost 10 pounds since the 13th, and when I woke up this morning I had gained a pound. I'm a bit worried that the beer had caused this gain. I don't know how to over come it, because I enjoy having a few over the weekend. I guess my question is...can beer actually lead to a weight gain? I drink light beers only, and no more than 6-8 over the weekend.

Thanks in advance to those who can understand what the heck I'm trying to ask...cuz I'm not sure that I understand it 8-}

hello there-
i'm not real sure about the beer causing your weight gain....i keep track of what all i've eaten and that on another site called Fitday.com (http://www.fitday.com)...there they have beers and mixed drinks and tell you how much calories/fat is in the drinks. hope this will help you out some.

Kam, I gotta tell you that I usually drink beer every Wednesday night (after my WW meeting ;) ) & the next day my ankles are swollen. Coincidence? I don't think so. Maybe beer makes my body retain water. Just my thoughts on the matter.....

I don't drink, but when I used to have a few, my feet would be so swollen when I'd go to leave that I could hardly get my shoes on. Booze is fattening and it's empty calories.

1 8 oz beer has 167 calories
1 8 oz lite beer has 63 calories.
