Slow Down
Do you know you eat a lot more if you eat fast? Slow down your eating and give your brain a chance to realize you're full.
Another strategy is to choose foods that take a bit longer to eat, so you'll want to eat less. For example, you can't gulp hot soups in a few seconds, or wolf down fresh fruit, or quickly down a 24-ounce glass of water. By choosing these slow-down foods, you're giving your body and brain a chance to realize you've had enough -- you really are full and you feel it. So, slow down during your meals; enjoy them more, and resist the temptation to let mealtime keep pace with the rest of your fast-paced life.
