It says that i burn 2706 calories a day without exercise. thats A LOT! Can i trust this? poundsplus 09-28-01, 08:40 PM Krystina, I use it but I have wondered how accurate it really is, as well, mostly because I have compared calorie, etc. and found different amounts. However, it must get you in the ball park. The amount of calories one uses for maintaining "life" depends on age and weight. The younger you are the more you use. So if you're still growing (I mean really like a preteen or teenager and not those of us past that stage so that we just grow sideways !), it may be possible. IrishRain 09-29-01, 12:07 PM I think it may be so because I have been to several sites and they all say that at my size and weight, I burn an incredible amount just keeping my body going. It takes more energy to sit or move or breathe or do anything when we're overweight. Of the other sites I checked, e-diets told me I needed the most, and it's funny...I don't feel good and can't stick to a plan unless my calories are high. They recommended I do 2200/day (to lose). Dietwatch said 1500, they were the lowest and I can't surviveon less than 1800, but even then I will binge. Fitday recommended 2000. Just look at the calories we burn (the energy it takes) to sit and type (under activities), or lying down, or light housework...it's amazing!! I use dietwatch because it's not as confusing (for me). I have a lot of failures in dieting at different levels. When I was thin and had 15 to lose, I could still do it on 1500C. I liked my rheumatologists answer the best. He said to eat the most I could to still lose, that way I'd be the healthiest. Remember, if you drop 500 from your basal needs, you will lose 1lb/wk. Good luck. He was from the old school...that you had to be dying to lose (1000C or less). His doc started him on 1800C and he steadily dropped, then plateaued. When the people called (after finally getting his information) they said 1800 was too low and he had plateaued because he was starving. He raised it by 200C/day and began losing again, but this time at 1 lb/wk (he is close to goal). bfn, Rainbow :rose: :x krystina5 09-30-01, 08:39 PM thanxs for the info guys! |
