Just a quickie question.....how do you know if you are losing to much weight to fast? I have lost about 45 pounds since July and have had people comment how "fast" I am losing. I still have approx. 20 +/- to go and had at one time a Christmas goal. Is that unrealistic? I don't want to lose all this weight just to gain it back. I feel I am doing it healthy, but I guess I always question myself no matter what it is I do. Someone once told me we are our own worst critics and I do believe that statement.
Thoughts? Comments?
Littlered, I think if you are losing weight and able to do the things you need to do (not getting weak) than you are probably ok. I do think we need to focus on healthy eating versus quick loss. Are you eating healthy and losing - if so than hey you are achieving what we all want. Good luck to you! I have lost a few pounds myself and am hoping to stay in the groove.

I have done a lot of reading on<br />the diet subject. Usually the <br />books will say do not lose weight too quickly.<br />I think it is based on the theory that you can be losing muscle<br />mass. <br />I was told by a nutritionalist<br />that I should not lose more than<br />2 pounds per week. I am 5 ft. 3<br />inches and weigh 165 lbs.<br />I am really curious to know what<br />type of diet are you on? Are you<br />taking supplements and/ or vitamins?

Hi Cami! What I have done is cut my portions. I was eating like a mad woman. Basically constantly and what I was eating was not healthy. I am eating more fruits and veggies and not alot of red meat. I am excersizing everyday (time permitting). I do take a multi vitamin everyday.
Right now I am losing about 3-4 lbs. per week but that isn't every week. There are weeks I will only drop a pound. I stayed at 170 for what seemed liked forever. The weeks that I don't do as much excersize I don't lose as much. Weeks I work out alot or walk alot I will lose more of course. Right now I am 5'4 and at 151 3/4 lbs. I began dieting in the beginning of July at 197 lbs.

I know what you<br />mean it seemed like I was <br />170 forever. My body loves <br />being 170. I am not sure why.<br />Finally I am at 165 but it took<br />a lot to break into the new <br />number. But, I have not been exercising like I should. I have been trying to get the water in. <br /> What did you do???? Just start eating much less of what you normally eat? Sounds smart to me! <img src="graemlins/laugh.gif" border="0" alt="[laugh]" /> <br /> What type of exercising are you doing?

Hi Jo Ann,
Yes I just cut my portions, although some may think it is quite extreme. I am trying to learn to eat to live and not live to eat. Usually I have 2 meals a day and what I call a snack and I drink lots and lots and lots.
I am doing Tae Bo, but I want to start something new, I just don't know what yet. I love the Tae bo, but feel I need something else in conjuction with it. I do walk when I can, but with a 4,6 and 9 year old it is not a "good" walk. It takes a long time to just get around the block!! LOL
Didn't have such a good day today..need to get back on track tomorrow.

If you have figured our your caloric intake, and know it is enough (ie, at least 1200 calories) then yer fine! and if you are feeling tip top...more power to you woman!!
I'd make sure i'd get checked out by a doctor tho..since they do blood work, etc, so that you can see yer insides are as healthy as your outsides <img src="wink.gif" border="0">
