Hello Diettalkers!

I am going on vacation with the bf next week to Seattle and Vancouver, BC and I was wondering if anyone knew of places to go eat that were good for dieters, but still tasted like I was splurging. :) I don't want to "fall off the wagon" in only my 2nd week of dieting, but I don't want to feel like I'm missing out on the cuisine of the areas. :chef:

Thanks a bunch for your suggestions!!!

I did a vacation in Seattle and Vancouver a couple of years ago. I just love that area!!!
Of course, I was not on a diet at that time, so I really splurged on my eating.
Just watch your portion sizes. Enjoy the food there. There is alot of fish, which is very good for you.
Have a great time!!!

You picked a beautiful area for a vacation. One place I have been to in Vancouver is the Seven Seas. It is on the bay, you can take a little ferry and you go to a floating restaurant and they serve everything that has ever lived in water, in a huge buffet. It was very good.
You can also go to a revolving restaurant on the top of one of the hotels, (can't remember the name). You do need a reservation and formal attire. The experience is so nice and satisfying, the food is kinda secondary.

Hope you have fun, eh, and you can probably check around online for lots of ideas and information

Terry, I did the restaurant on top of the hotel! It was fabulous!!! I got a travel book on Vancouver and used their suggestions for restaurants!

Thank you Julie and Terry for your suggestions! I think I just have to do the portion control like Julie said. (A REAL test of my diet). I was also thinking that I should take advantage of the gyms at the hotels we'll be staying at... OR, if the weather is okay, I can take an early morning stroll through the city. :)

Thanks again gals!

Trust me, you will get plenty of walking in when you go. There is just so much to see!!! (If you have time, go to Deep Cove in North Vancouver. It is so pretty there. We went kyacking there and had a wonderful time - so peaceful!!!)
Have a great time!!!

Make sure you check out the "seawall" in Vancouver. It is 10 miles of paved walking/biking right along the water through beautiful Stanley Park, etc. You can rent bikes there too Also some concession stands and eateries along the way.
Also a great thing to do is to go up Grouse Mountain tram. There is skiing up there right now. In the same area is the Capilano suspension bridge. Quite an experience.
All in all, you can work off any dieting splurges, there is so much to do.
Have Fun!

Cool!! I'm writing all of this down!!! :)

I'm really excited about my trip... well, more excited than before. And I figure, if the weather is not that great, I should be able to "work out" with the boyfriend. :o:o
