View Full Version : Kashi products girl 01-07-03, 08:16 PM I just joined and would love to hear from anyone who uses Kashi products. Lizi 01-07-03, 08:26 PM I'm not familiar with Kashi products? Could you tell us a little about them? Thanks jukie1028 01-07-03, 10:10 PM www.kashi.com I'm a big fan of the Kashi stuff, I call it my concrete blocks and gravel. Tons of fiber and protein, you really do have to have good teeth to eat it. I like the Kashi GoLean Crunch cereal, and the GoLean bars, particularly the milk chocolate crisp ones. The cereal is for the weekends, and I eat the bars at lunch during the week. Laura Little 01-07-03, 11:45 PM Yeah I agree with Julie here. I love the Go Lean with Splenda in the mornings. The fiber is a very important part. They arent all that costly either. Little girl 01-08-03, 12:33 AM I just started the Kashi GoLean system: cereal for breakfast, shake for lunch, bar for snack, and sensible dinner (though my dinners haven't really been all that sensible, *giggle*), and so far I like it. I just wondered if anyone else was having success with it. The fiber and protein are great, but what appeals most to me is that there's not a ton of processed or refined sugars or fats. And it's pretty tasty and surprisingly filling. Apparently, you can buy the stuff in bulk on theri website, which is a little cheaper than buying it at the grocery store. Anyway, my concern about using the program is that I'm not getting enough fruits and veggies. How do you get in yoru apple a day on these shake-for-ameal plans? getnfit@38 01-08-03, 06:22 AM I never used the Kashi system as a diet plan, I just eat the cereal for breakfast because it's high protein and high fiber, and I keep a bar on hand for emergency "on the go" meals, but I would imagine you could just add a piece of fruit to each meal you have, whether it's a bowl of cereal or a shake, just add a piece of fruit to both your breakfast and lunch, and if you do 2 snacks (as you should , then at each snack have a piece of fruit. This gives you at least 4 fruit servings each day. Dinner should be veggie loaded! Since you are missing veggies all day with the Kashi plan, you should have at least 2 veggies at dinner. Does this sound do-able for you? Donna jukie1028 01-09-03, 10:10 PM Fruit for snacks, definitely. Any and all veggies welcome at dinner time, it should be a requirement, don't you think? I get my bar and apple at lunch time and it is very filling to me, all that protein and fiber work wonders. Plus, if you carry a spare bar and are miserably starving, it's easy to grab another one rather than whatever sweet and sugary treat a coworker brings to torture you with. Much better for you all around. Just drink plenty of water! JoAnnAtkinson 01-09-03, 10:51 PM In your opinon, which of the kashi cereals is the best tasteing? I like crunchy cereals! :D I have not tasted any of the Kashi, but I do see it here at my grocery. Just wondering which one tasted best?????? Jo Ann in TEXAS:) sophie44 01-11-03, 01:40 PM I love the cereals...never tried anything else. jukie1028 01-11-03, 02:43 PM I love the Kashi GoLean Crunch, but I haven't tried any of the others. A little cinnamon (no sugar) is a nice addition for those days when it seems not quite appetizing. One of my coworkers loves the heart one, can't think of what it's called but it looks like Cheerios. JoAnnAtkinson 01-11-03, 03:33 PM I will check both of those products out today at the store! :) Jo Ann in TEXAS:D |
