i had a few setbacks on sat but for my first week of being on my own eating and excercise plan i did pretty good. i only got in 3 days of excercise and i did drink on sat. which i said i need to stop doing and didnt feel so good on sunday because of it. but i went to the movies yesterday and split a small popcorn with my daughter and didnt get extra butter on it. small changes like that or helping cause as of this morning my weigh in is 183, that is a 4 lb loss!!!!!!!! :dn i know the first week on any plan if followed correctly will give you a big loss, but i really feel like i earned this. and hopefully will give me the motivation to keep going, i am almost out of the 180's, i cant wait!!!!!

thanks, i am just eating less, i am trying to get one fruit in a day and am eating the veggie soup from ww. it is hard getting in my fruits and veggies. when i choose to eat pasta i weigh out one serving. instead of eating almost a whole box. if i want to eat french fries which you and everyone should know by now are my favorite junk food. i measure out a serving of frozen fries and that usually takes care of the craving, and i know has alot less fat in it then the super size fries i would love getting at mcdonalds.

i am also doing differnt excercises, the firm. mixed with some aerobics and this week i am committting to 5 days a week and adding a day of abs from the firm tapes. i try to hold off on eating when tummy starts to growl. instead of just shoving food in my mouth , i think about it befor i put it in my mouth. i also just take a little bit of everything, at first, then if i am really hungry i can go back for more. cant think of anything else right now, mostly just being more aware of how much i am eating and realizing that eating less i can get full and satisfied.

hi, i love the shore, that is part of why i want to be at goal or close to it,by june. so when i go to the shore this year i will be more comfortable in the shorts and bathing suit i will be wearing.

the ww soup is just a veggies soup that i would eat to fill me up when i was on weight watchers. it was o pts on the weight watchers plan and that is how i used to get my veggies in, i am not a salad eater. the recipe calls for cabbage, but i cant eat that, you can really put any veggies in it, but i wouldnt recommed carrots or corn in it, cause they are starchy vegetables.

Hi Debi,
Could you post the WW Veggie soup? And then we can adjust it to our plans. :)
For instance, do you start out with a roux or what? Love to have the recipe. I think it would be good for any plan.

Debi, something that has been helping me is setting a time at night that I can't eat past. NOT ONE BITE after 7:30! It keeps me from doing mindless munching in front of the tv at night.

thank you so much guys for the encouraging words. joAnn, i lent out my ww books to someone so i dont have the exact recipe, but i am sure if you go on the ww forum i know someone would post it. i make mine like this:

i just cut up one onion and some celery stalks and one frozen garlic piece, i spray pam oil spray and fry them a bit, then i just put chicken broth, pepper, oregano, basil leaves(dried in the
bottle) kind. i let it boil until celery and onion arent that cruncy anymore, then i put in a can of diced tomatos, 1 small can green beans and i just started to add 1/2 can of spinach to it. then boil a little longer. that is it. that is my soup. i just need to make it simple , i know i should use fresh stuff instead of canned, but this works for me.

lmar, i did forget about that, i try not to eat after 7:00 but tonight, i had a handful of chips after dinner and that was done by 7:15. not to bad. i didnt excercise today, but i am aiming for 5 days a week so i can still get it in.

JoAnneAtkinson here is the recipe for the the zero points soup:
I used to be a member of weight watchers and hoard everything up..LOL

Garden Vegetable Soup

Makes 4 servings (about 1 cup each) 0 pts per serving.

2/3 cup sliced carrot
1/2 cup diced onion
2 garlic cloves, minced
3 cups fat-free broth (beef, chicken or vegetable)
1 1/2 cups diced green cabbage
1/2 cup green beans
1 tablespoon tomato paste
1/2 teaspoon dried basil
1/4 teaspoon dried oregano
1/4 teaspoon salt
1/2 cup diced zucchini

In large saucepan, sprayed with nonstick cooking spray, saute the carrot, onion and garlic over low heat until softened, about 5 minutes

Add broth, cabbage, beans, tomato paste, basil, oregano and salt; bring to a boil. Lower heat and simmer, covered, about 15 minutes or until beans are tender.

Stir in zucchini and heat 3-4 minutes. Serve hot.

Per serving: 42 calories, 0 g total fat, 0 g saturated fat, 0 mg cholesterol, 63 mg sodium, 8 g total carbohydrate, 2.4 g dietary fiber, 3 g protein, 41 mg calcium.

THANK YOU FOR THE WW SOUP RECIPE!!!!!! Sounds GREAT and I will make it this week! Can't go wrong with those ingredients!

Joanne, I hoard up everything too. I have just about every diet book you can mention, including all the material for WW points. I just never want to throw away anything, like that. I am always thinking if I don't need it, however, someone else I know might ! :)

Thanks again!
