View Full Version : I Have Noticed A Change!

Since starting here at DT the weight has not changed much yet, but I have noticed this last week one big change which I think I can be proud of.
Everyone here raves about drinking water, and although I have been trying to drink it, I have not been drinking enough by any means. Really been finding it difficult to drink the water on it's own, so have settled for a weak squash mix, mostly water but with a bit of squash(is it squash in America?, like a syrup to add to water, but it is sugar free, and I hardly use any, just enough to taste)for a while til I can get used to plain water more.
Anyway, before starting with the water drinking I also drank diet soda in lots of different flavours, strawberryade being one of my favourites.
So last week I put a bottle in the fridge to cool, then poured myself a large glass and took a big drink. YUCK, YUCK, YUCK, YUCK, YUCK! It was so sweet and sickly I nearly gagged! The whole bottle went straight down the sink!
So am I right in saying that is one habit changed for the better? I think so!
I am still aiming to change to the straight water guys, I promise, but I am doing it like everything else, baby steps, and I've definitely made more than one baby step from the diet soda to the water and squash!
That is such a big thing for me!

hi baby,
that is a great step in the right direction,and one you deserve to be proud of!
i always fill my 2 litre bottle of water and wade my way through it during the day. i always carry a water bottle with me too. caitlin(3) has started taking hers everywhere also to be like her mum!

I too have a hard time drinking the water.. Sounds like you are doing pretty good though at the transition from pop to water.. Good for you!! Its a hard one to do! LeeAnn

What good news Baby!
I figure that if I flood my body with water, maybe, just maybe I won't gorge it with too much food. Happy drinking!

yay for baby!!

I have to admit - I'm a water addict and I love to drink pints and pints of the stuff. But I did have a serious diet coke habit for a while which took a lot to kick (chocolate was easier)so more power to ya for chucking the strawberry stuff away!!
I always how many chemicals are in it to make it that colour anyway......
